The New York Times reported this. There is a certain irony in the New York Times outlining the consequences of the U.S. led sanctions are essentially that western governments and NATO countries are essentially punishing themselves with continued sanctions against Russia. Then again, the WEF coalition doesn’t really seem to care as long as they can continue chasing their Build Back Better agenda.

(Via New York Times) – The ruble cemented its unlikely status as the world’s best-performing currency, rising to new multiyear highs this week. Since collapsing in the weeks after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which triggered sweeping international sanctions aimed at crippling the Russian economy, the ruble has come roaring back.
On Tuesday, it traded at its strongest level against the U.S. dollar since June 2015. It has gained about 35 percent so far this year, beating every major currency, and has more than doubled from its post-invasion low.
[…] Higher earnings from oil and gas exports, which have surged as prices rise and demand in Asia makes up for cutbacks in Europe, have kept the ruble elevated. At the same time, Russian imports have fallen sharply, partly the result of many foreign companies pulling out of Russia, which also support the ruble. (read more)

“More Americans believe that it would be better for them for Biden to be removed (56 percent) than Putin (43 percent).” {Poll DATA}
Resign Brandon, you stinkin piece of cricket shit.
Go for the alliteration…..
Biden is a criminal crumb of cricket crap.
Removing the Demented Fraud won’t make much difference if the criminally corrupt kenyan remains calling the shots
…or as long as the same lifetime worker bees continue to saturate the ranks of agency bureaucrats…
Or as long as McConnell remains in control of Congress.
And no, if he retires and Thune or another decepticon moves into his place, it won’t change anything.
Obama’s entire hand in the broken nation he made comes of age
My opinion:
Obama is a Soros puppet – nothing more – valJay still lives with obama and mooch – supervising them 24/7.
Braindead is a Soros prop- nothing more … they keep him in the fake whitehouse or his beach house … his occasional photo-op moments are always a disaster.
Everything is run by the CIA, Soros and his Committee of Evil … with Claus input.
Bidet is nearly a crust on the r s e of the leftists…they have their media and if we don’t bring the media down…so are we
Merely
SCUM not crust.
Not just the catastrophic Kenyan, the RINO slugs and Lefty Dems gotta go too.
Exactly right. Remember the last time we had illegals and terrorists crossing our Borders? How about the fixation on Transgenderism? Then we have inciting Race relations and bad mouthing the police. Corruption within the IRS and DOJ. It is early so I cannot think of everything that started during the Obama administration.
He’s never has that kind of class.
He’s throwing the fight. Problem for us, he keeps getting back up for more.
No one has any respect for Biden. No one ever did. No one is surprised that everything he does is shit.
There’s gotta be some dancing in around in the middle who are surprised. I talked to a black friend of mine. After the election he and another buddy were giving me hell laughing about DT. I got pissed and said Laurence I trust you still have your dog. Better fatten him up because you’re gonna have to eat him. This was mid Nov 2020 and didn’t speak for a while. About a month ago I could tell his mood had soured. They never liked Biden. They were co opted into hating DT. This made the Democrat voters not give a damn if an election was stolen right in front of their eyes. It still pisses me off to a boil. Without them giving cover it could have never been pulled off.
“… They never liked Biden … were co opted into hating DT … made Democrat voters not give a damn if an election was stolen right in front of their eyes …”
Excellent summary of the clueless RAT voters … I believe approximately 20+million clueless like Lawrence actually voted for him … 20+ million establishment RATS & RINOS voted for him to protect their crimes and continue their kickbacks … the rest … dominion, ballot stuffing and CIA Hamer & Scorecard (to flip and disappear Trump votes to the braindead prop).
I’m edified to see these results … I’d have thought more Americans would be snowed by the propaganda
biden blame game fail!
Just 11% say Putin causing High Energy Prices
Agreed. I didn’t think it was possible to hate someone as much as jackass joe!!! But what the F would we get then,….kamaltoe or piglosi. If this country survives 2 more years, and were still alive, it will be a friggin miracle. Not holding my breath.
Well it looks like Zydeco is on target with the
64 likes is awesome.
I think we are close to WW111 now. I hope you have your Iodide! Only use when the siren sounds! Best price on the Internet, and I store mine in the fridge for myself and neighbors if it ever occurs. https://www.lifeextension.com/vitamins-supplements/item00577/potassium-iodide-tablets?gclid=Cj0KCQjw2MWVBhCQARIsAIjbwoP8vZ2bRZl6fImrLXUcIF3fBdGvuRF_zs3YSjAga8GK_HKQgBIwHMgaAkF0EALw_wcB
will a large does of iodized salt be effective?
You would likely get salt poisoning before your body could extract enough iodine from the salt. Please read the following as, for once, the CDC has it right: Facts About Potassium Iodide (KI) | CDC
In the event of nuclear fallout, the only thing Iodine protects against are the radioactive Iodines (I-125, I-131). It has no protection for any other radioactive element released or created in the explosion – notably the radioactive Cesiums, Strontiums and numerous beta emitters. Iodine pills ONLY protect the thyroid.
Iodine pills flood the body with Iodine which then saturates the thyroid and further uptake of Iodine by the thyroid is slowed. Thus, ingested radioactive iodine exposure becomes limited (not completely blocked) as the body will rid itself of excess iodine including the radioactive iodine. Iodine pills need to be taken at least a couple hours before the exposure to the radioactive iodine to be most effective (it takes up to six hours to fully saturate the thyroid).
Charcoal filtered masks will provide the best protection from all of the iodine fallout and pretty much so all of the other radionuclides. However, they are expensive.
PS: Charcoal masks get very uncomfortable in a short period.
PPS: if it is a single explosion and you can get upwind of it, this is the best defense from all the radionuclides at little cost. If it is full-blown nuclear war, thyroid exposure will be the least of our worries.
I have mine sir. Grid Iron Nutrition is another place. But if you want the best get your ass over to AJ lol 😉
When you hear the sirens, your best bet is to run towards where the missiles will hit to ensure you’re killed in the first volley, because you really don’t want to survive a nuclear war. It would be hell on earth.
That’s my plan.
The old, fly specked “civil defence poster” looked absolutely authentic,..saw it 40 years ago, but I still remember.
“In the event of an impending Nuclear attack;
1) get in a basement if possible, and in a corner.
2) Remove all sharp objects from your pockets
3) squat down, and put your head between your legs.
4) At the moment you see the flash,…kiss your ass GOOD BYE!
Still makes me chuckle!
In all fairness it might be better than an all out financial collapse or EMP attack. All of them suck no doubt but if you are lucky enough to make it thru a nuke bomb scenario there would be much less competition. Just saying, but yeah I understand your sentiments lol.
Please sir, there is no valid reason to think there will be a nuclear war because Russia’s money has done well… I don’t see any causation.
Who said that Russia was going to start the war?
Yes, Biden already hinted he would use nukes against the US.
The fear of a nuclear war is not because of the Ruble, it is because of Biden and those who run him. And those who run him will also be running Harris if she gets thte job, or Pelosi, and so on.
No it will be because we start nuclear war. Russia winning the war in Ukraine and beating sanctions by winning the economic race is simply more reason for the western powers to pursue nuclear war.
“Say can I have some of your purple berries,..”
“Yes,…I’ve been eating them for 6-7 weeks now,…haven’t got sick once,…probly keep us both alive!”
Ain’t it amazing how many of the songs from the 60’s and 70’s so popular with the left of the time are suddenly relevant again in a 180-degree new context?
“There’s something happening here, what it is ain’t exactly clear…”
“Come Senators, Congressmen, please heed the call… don’t stand in the windows, don’t block up the halls…”
Oddly enough, I’ve noticed many of the lefties in my music crowd have recently stopped singing them. I need to bring them out again…
Bought an old, ugly metal cabinet a few weeks ago, one that has multiple shelves and two front doors that close with a latch. Sanded it down, spray painted it cranberry color, and put it down in my cool, dark basement.
It is our “family” medicine cabinet, and contains all kinds of every day medicines, and all kinds of specialty meds I’ve been buying off the web — including a few bottles of iodine tablets for radio active fallout. Made sure to get enough for us and our immediate neighbors with 7 kids, then have extras, just ’cause.
Also has emergency triage kit, lots of bandages, pain killers, ivermectin, Quercetin, Lugol’s, and pretty much anything else someone has written about here on the treehouse. I have also made a 3-ring binder book containing hardcopy printouts of what each vitamin, mineral and pill stored in the cabinet is useful for, believing if the SHTF the power will be out and there will be no ‘searching the internet’ to find the information.
There is no war in Ukraine.
???
Coulda fooled me…
They did
Two men with Napoleonic complexes.
Oh how gross.
Sickening all of these politicians, leaders of countries, celebrities flying into war zone Kiev to kiss the ring of puppet Z.
PHOTO SHOPPED, LOOK AT THE ARMS
I was gonna say
“That Stiller hasn’t trod very far along the evolutionary path, has he?”
At first, I thought it was EPSTIEN, lol.
Ah, ha! He really DIDN’T suicide, cause he ain’t DEAD!
Then, I took another look,…
“Never mind!”
If it was a real war photos like the one below would be rare not commonplace.
Exactly. Fake war.
Remain curious where the cell phone photo coverage of this war is?
Take a look at Patrick Lancaster on twitter or YouTube. He covers the war like no one else. A real journalist. Terrible when you see how the US is facilitating the murder of civilians.
Photoshopped
Seems the WEF are succeeding in Building (Russia) Back Better.
Foreign policy by Beavis and Butt-Head.
I remember when the Ruble crashed and I asked: Is it possible to buy them?
I wish I had!
$10,000 worth of rubles purchased a couple months ago would be a nice nest egg.
I did too about a month and a half ago. Friend was going to Europe and needed cash for Euros. I told her to ask if I could by Euros. I was on top of this but mattered not the sanctions made it illegal. However you can buy Gold which now being tied to the Ruble. Biden said a couple days after hostilities broke out “The Ruble is now rubble.” That statement is key because it tells you what the goals were. Cut fuel off to the West (Check), create massive shortages of fertilizer (Check), and break Russia’s economy (Fail).
**Ask if I Could buy rubles.
Although it is currently illegal to exchange or buy rubles from banks, you can buy rubles off the internet for collection purposes.
A pack of 25 100 ruble bills is on ebay for @ $150.
But if you can’t exchange or sell them, once they go up in price they’ll still only be collectible items.
Or you could sell them online at a higher price. . .
I wonder how Soros played it.
Short the ruble beforehand?
You can bet he and his minions played it.
I hope Soros got rekt.
I have a feeling Soros know exactly how this would play out, and if so he went long on the ruble.
Never in the history of this great nation, has it been managed by such incompetent group of individuals across the bureaucratic spectrum.
Trump had a chance to fire 800,000 federal workers, instead this Congress policies unemployed 40 million.
They’re not incompetent. They know exactly what they’re doing. The destruction of this country has been the goal of the European/western powers since the founding. Government of, by, and for the people is unique in the history of the world and flies in the face of all elitist forms whether theochratic, monarchic, or dictatorial. We are the exception that proves (tests) their rule, pun intended. Look how far the Subversives (Progressives) have got in morphing this nation into a fascistic state.
Being incompetent, and trying to ruin the country are not mutually exclusive.
Exactly. What we are now enduring is not the result of incompetence, but the successful execution of a carefully constructed plan to destroy the U.S.
Anybody who thinks the Fourth Branch would have allowed President Trump to fire even a single one of their minions – I want some of what you’re smoking…
Actually that’s exactly what would have happened to such an executive order – it would have been smoking in thousands of corruptocrat wastebaskets.
They might be running out of Ukrainians to sacrifice soon.
I heard third of Ukraine army is gone or have deserted.
Expect some false flag or escalation soon by our peace-keeping-alliance NATO (cough!)
so they can justify throwing more meat in the grinder
Lithuania could be it.
If Russia is smart – and so far it seems they are – they do not take the bait and just continue what they are doing: pounding Schwab’s nazi euro army into the ground. Maybe a little harder.
Interested Patriot. Well said.
A report on The Duran this week (Duran stated it is unconfirmed) said that some European nations are rounding up the 16-60 yr. old male Ukranian refugees in their nations to send back to Ukraine.
Two reasons: Ukraine needs more soldiers, and the refugees are law-breakers in their new host nations.
They weren’t kidding about “to the last Ukrainian”
Correct. The only one with a brain cell seems to be Putin. Never thought I would make that statement. But never thought we’d see this country deliberately run into the ground and not one Republican does a damn thing.
If you were Putin, would you turn down the offer to pretend to invade Ukraine?
Its so profitable
I have learned a lot about Putin and Russia last couple months. If you are suggesting this is all an act you are mistaken. The BRICS nations have every reason to this. It’s not Kabuki theater I assure you. If I am correct we face the threat of nuclear war. If the people who think this is an act are correct then it’s over. You think we can fight the world’s three biggest armies? If they are this scripted and this disciplined and this omnipotent we might as well hang our heads and March to Globohomo’s gulag. Good news it’s not scripted and it’s not a ploy; for better or worse this is real.
Please see independent journalist Gonzalo Lira’s report that points out just what Luke wrote~we face the threat of nuclear war.
And Russia will not fire the first warhead.
TY–I saw that Sunday I think. I would not be surprised if they did fire first. If you get to a point where redlines are crossed you have a choice to take the offensive or wait for a counter attack. I do not believe Putin will wait. I know they took first strike off the table but in these times they just might. I would once I knew that there’s no going back.
If Putin were to decide that for the survival of his Nation and the World that he HAD to,…why wouldn’t he take out DAVOS, with a hyper and small nuke?
During a confab, eliminate the WEF, and all their “young leaders” at once?
THEY are the ones at war with him and Russia,…
I think he would and you are correct. My thoughts are he may hit everywhere there is a population center, military base, and nuclear launch silos. Heard Ritter explain how it would be a tit for tat exchange even at a nuclear level. There’s no doubt he knows a helluva lot more than me. My concern is once one goes off they all do in order to cripple the counter attack. I could be mistaken but with my limited knowledge of such matters it makes sense. Probably a good idea to have some potassium iodide on hand tho no idea if it will work.
He’s great. Scott Ritter is another great source. Video footage is on intel slava z on telegram. Thesaker.is is good. Askepticsubstack.com is another.
The most accurate source I found is the retired swiss military/intelligence Jacques Baud, see also what he writes about the nuclear question in this article. To read any language you need to click on language at the top (original is french):
https://cf2r.org/documentation/le-point-sur-la-situation-militaire-en-ukraine-au-2-juin-2022/
This is the source he quotes on nuclear:
https://www.armscontrol.org/act/2022-04/news/biden-policy-allows-first-use-nuclear-weapons
The davos hacks and the western globalists, bet on the wrong horse. Themselves. Turned out to be a losing proposition.
Remember always. Reagan did not defeat the USSR with weaponry…he bankrupted them.
When Putin invaded Ukraine, I wondered at the time whether he thought this was his one chance to destroy us…a weak leader, racial disharmony, staggering national debt, a soft citizenry, weariness after 20 years of war in the Middle East. I thought then he might do just enough to keep the USA sending billions to Ukraine.
I am no seer, just somebody who has lived a long time, has a good memory, has paid attention to politics, observes patterns and knows nations behave like any other character.
Putin’s one chance to destroy USA is also call for USA to wake up about its Rulers mal-intent
Putin has no interest in destroying the United States. Putin’s interest is destroying those who are in US leadership trying to destroy the US.
Amen to that.
And it is for THAT reason, that I am rootin for Putin.
We share the goal of destroying those in U.S. Leadership, who are trying to destroy the U.S.
Hmm, they TRIED to prevent a PDJT/Putin alliance, but have failed.
Putin took the threats seriously. He is no fool. There is no doubt that Nato member states along with the constant allegations made untoward Putin specifically for all manner of political theater has real world consequences.
ESPECIALLY, when your country (russia) is sitting on top of 30 TRILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF FOSSIL FUELS THAT IS CHEAP AND EASY TO TRANSHIP.
Do you also remember the war the Soviet Union (not the current Russia) fought in Afghanistan? In my NSHO , the blood and treasure spent there was the beginning of the end of the Soviet Union.
But the always hungry money laundering, carrion seeking criminals of Clinton and Goldman Sach’s came swooping in. Can’t let a crisis go to waste could they? Gave them “loans” they couldn’t pay back, and when the debt was called in, that was the end of that.
I for one don’t believe that Putin has EVER been weak. He’s fighting against a political and very powerful US military force and it contractors that needs to fight him to justify and sustain THEIR VERY EXISTENCE.
Pres. Eisenhower warned us about the MIC and I can bet Pres. Kennedy was given a large dose of lead because of the MIC too.
There is a very great mental illness that resides in the minds of the MIC about Russia. Maybe it started when Nikita Krushvev pounded his shoe. Can’t get confirmation on that one.
But man, get some forking therapy about it already. We are all going to die someday. and I do not for one minute believe its going to be from a nuke delivered by Putin.
Splendor in the Grass, as Walt Whitman as the Ruble is the top currency gun. The rest of these idiots don’t even know how to pound sand anymore.
I
They both participate in Cold War because it controls their populations and it brings in money. It’s mutually beneficial.
it’s worth noting, that while the russian “vietnam” was a military and political failure, it was also a time when russia went from b grade arms supplier to numbero uno, during these years and especially for a large period after.
the “test” of war, enabled russia military industrial complex to put new systems and new tactics and new streams of dependable revenue from other nation states, not exactly excited about buying very expensive and dumbed down US military arms. If you look at the “cost” of the afghanistan war simply from a balance sheet view, it hardly made a dent. The russia arms sales easily erased any of the “losses” in afghan.
What brought russia down was energy and not having a global supply of it at a scale that would matter. This was always the issue with Russia, post USSR. It had all the factors of a world super power, but not the economic growth. The world changed very fast in the early 80’s to this time now. Those countries that could not export competitive fossil fuels were limited in their destinies.
Russia has by good fortune (the discovery of vast reservoirs of cheap gas and sweet oil), turned themselves around.
They simply needed to drive the point home by invading Ukraine and showing the world what true power as a soon to be global energy market maker looks like.
I am impressed, out of just respect for having the resources AND THE VISION AND WILLPOWER to assert soverign power.
This US administration are cowards and all of them should be required to wear bright piss yellow prison suits for the rest of their lives.
coward jumpers for the lot of them.
I am of the opinion the CIA controls everything … the FBI are their minions … and the political establishment their lackeys.
Wait until O’biden ticks off the Saudis.
OPEC nations join BRICS?
They will no longer require USD.
Adios, petro dollar.
The Japanese sold or allowed to mature $60 billion of Treasuries in Jan-March. I wonder what the Q2 unwind has been worth.
Of coarse, they’re undoubtedly already THERE.
Enlightened self interest.
Just nothing official.
https://www.republicworld.com/world-news/china/brics-reached-consensus-on-expansion-process-may-include-saudi-arabia-argentina-china-articleshow.html
things are moving fast…If you blink you miss the movie.
Noting: the article was originally published Last Updated: 28th May, 2022 20:14 IST
“China on Friday, May 27, said that the Foreign Ministers of Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa (BRICS) have “reached consensus on its expansion process” and have agreed to include the new developing countries. Beijing is holding a rotating Presidency of the BRICS bloc this year, and its foreign ministry said Friday that it actively supports the expansion of the five-member group. The remark comes just a day after Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Saudi Arabia and Argentina have expressed a desire to join the group.
The BRICS May 19 Foreign Ministers’ virtual meeting included Foreign Ministers of Argentina, Egypt, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Nigeria, Senegal and Thailand who were also given a formal invitation. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also took part in the BRICS Foreign Ministers meeting convened by his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi. BRICS’ New Development Bank (NDB) has already enrolled Bangladesh, the UAE, Egypt and Uruguay as its official members.
Moscow’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told state-affiliated TASS that the oil-rich Arab world countries have shown interest to join BRICS and establishing partner relations with the eight-member Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), which includes India, Russia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.”
I heard two weeks ago the Saudis will not accept phone call from Biden. They know he is a deranged fool.
Correct. I do business there and he personally PO’d MBS and the entire leadership a while ago. Biden’s mess of withdrawal from AFG was the cherry on top.
MBS has a solid plan for KSA (you can Google KSA 2030) and they all know the fraud that this administration is. They want a good relationship with America but cannot do to with this administration. JoeBama won’t let it happen. Muslim Brotherhood at the helm here
From a “kingdom” perspective: dealing with senile old men is a sign of weakness. They send the ill and infirmed to shaman and priests. They have a system that discludes the possibility that “somehow” a navel gazing jug headed old fool would never be allowed to have the opportunity under any situation to control any matter or even hold court with the prince. Especially if that fool appears to be and shows up riding in airforce one.
The sa prince is kind of big on courtesies and also recognition. He is treating Joe malarkey also very poorly because he is a white man who served UNDER A BLACK MAN. The prince I am sure is also aware of him and his families dozens of scandals and grifting over the years. Joe malarkey has no leverage here. The SA prince will wave him off and refuse to allow a media event.
this is CANCELING JOE MALARKEY.
I don’t blame them at all.
Never in the course of national economics has this county harmed so many by so few government employees.
that chart documents the fundamental truth about cheap and highly desirable natural gas and oil reservoirs that open up.
despite a war, no matter the scope and scale of sanctions, a fundamental truth stands on its own power: energy markets are very elastic and durable.
this fundamental truth is why “renewables” will never be capable of delivery at scale and also insulated from geo political economic and trade sanctions.
oil and natural gas is a type of universal truth. It defends itself.
even and especially when you try and lock it down and prevent it from being discussed or traded, or bought and sold.
everyday, days a week, every single hour or every moment of your life, everything that you have bought, sold, traveled, mused, watched, worn, eaten, driven, vacationed, restaraunted, or microwaved,…..every single thing that you can think of as the basic and essential elements of society: that is nat gas and oil (and to some extent coal), and nuclear.
these corruptors have told the biggest of lies for the simplest of reasons: those that control the flow of oil and nat gas, dictate the world economy. you just can’t get there globally with renewables….from the corruptors pov, tbis was never about some unrealistic and unworkable transition to “renewables”..
it was about controlling the oil and nat gas supply globally.
the war in ukraine is the military action that represents a proxy war between the vast russian oil reservoirs and capablities of the russia state to transit that energy globally at a price and volume that makes it de facto energy global market maker.
not even SA and venezuala have this power.
think about this very carefully.
Russia is poised AND HAS BECOME (at least in the very first stages) the global energy market maker.
If you blink, you will miss the movie.
this IS THE LARGEST AND FASTEST TRANFER OF GLOBAL WEALTH THAN AT ANY OTHER TIME IN MODERN HUMAN HISTORY.
Russia has “won the war”…it’s over. The goals were accomplished. Now the negotiations can be inked and settlements arranged …the west will have access to invest in and control some of the oil and nat gas, and Russia goes from 11 producer of global energy to NUMBER 1.
let this sink in.
when you read this chart, understand why that chart make a “surprise comeback”…this was not normal.
This is showing what everyone needs to understand:
the west will be subject to prices that Russia and the New York and London and beijing walls street they agree upon. Russia officially becomes recognized as a true world super power (the economic factor has always been missing from this 1st world nuclear state).
Russia rises.
I am not very comfortable with this new reality, but objectively, I cannot deny what I am observing. It’s quite remarkable.
Prediction: avg 87 octane in the CONUS goes to 9.8 $USD per gallon before dec 2022. After 2022 going into 2024-2030, prices will “stabilize” in western markets with a mean 7.5 $USD per gallon.
prices for energy are not going down. This is now a captive market.
All other goods and services will follow this trend.
Scarcity will become a very real and close reminder during these years that “transitions” to renewables was and is a fool’s errand.
nation states will proceed to enter new nuclear power energy facilities, far fewer will spend scarce capitol on “renewables” that STILL CAN NOT COMPETE ECONOMICALLY WITH ENERGY EVEN 60 Percent MORE THAN IT IS TODAY.
the problems with renewables are fundamental:
incredibly expensive
infrastructure limits (severe)
lack of transmodal shipments capability to regions
Nat gas and oil are still abundant and vastly less expensive
the corrupt left progressives do not know how to operate a successful business
the culture and financial fitness of people around the world at this moment favors reliable and inexpensive over unproven and very very expensive.
this is the transfer of power.
it’s like a reset, but not at all in the way that most people think of this high jacked word.
this is a paradigm shift.
energy is the most valuable commodity in all of the world. Those who can control it at a global level will have unprecedented access and influence into other nation states’ interests.
2022 and 2024 will be the last opportunity for WE THE PEOPLE to take action and assert through PROPER representation that USA ENERGY NATIONAL SECURITY POLICIES MUST BE THE MOST CRITICALLY IMPORTANT PRIORITY.
There is ONLY ONE WAY TO AVOID THE COMING ECONOMIC MELTDOWN OF THE WORLD:
THE US MUST RESTART IT OIL AND NAT GAS PRODUCTION AND REFINERIES.
the corruptors are starting to understand this now. They understand they have severely misread and implemented complete and utter nonsense into their poicies.
this MUST BE THE SINGLE FOCUS OF ALL CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN MAGA PEOPLE. We have the most to gain and the most to lose over this issue. Our very livelihoods exist in a reasonable cost of living….
this inflation and skyrocket high prices for goods and services will have the most devastating effects on society for those who are most “reliant” on govt money. This includes thousands and thousands of wealth funds that are based on a strong dollar. The dollar is about to get the mother of all poundings.
Yes imagine SA ×5 but with nukes.
The fools of Davos took
a knife to a nuke fight.
These people are fools.
We common people that provide everything for these worthless parasites are laughing at you right now.
Klaus, if you want to reduce worthless carbon, do us all a favor and jump off a bridge.
Satan will waiting for you with open arms.
“ Russia has “won the war”…it’s over.”
Not so fast, Guido. The experts have a contrary opinion.
Former Peoples Republic of China Ambassador to Ukraine, Gao Yusheng, explains why Russia is losing the war in Ukraine and the effect that may have on the international order.
The money quote:
“The so-called revival or revitalization of Russia under Putin’s leadership is false; it simply does not exist. Russia’s decline is evident in its economic, military, technological, political, and social spheres, and has had a serious negative impact on the Russian military and its war effort.
“The failure of the Russian blitzkrieg and the failure to achieve a quick victory signaled the beginning of the Russian defeat. The Russian military’s economic and financial strength, which are not commensurate with its status as a so-called military superpower, could not support a high-tech war costing hundreds of millions of dollars a day. The Russian army’s poverty-driven defeat was evident everywhere on the battlefield.”
https://gaodawei.wordpress.com/2022/05/10/fmr-prc-amb-to-ukraine-on-russias-impending-defeat-and-international-relations/
Look for China to move against a weakened Russia and its sphere of influence throughout Eurasia.
I would imagine there is already plenty of coordination and economic aid that has been transferred by CCP state to Moscow. No doubts in my mind.
russia did not survive 22 years of constant trade and economic sanctions without getting help.
I think China has a plan that involves nearly 3/4 of the northern hemisphere…..or more. We know this.
Russia is best suited to gaining more power throughout the EU and NATO states now that he has the supply, the economics and the advantages right now. It would be a good time to negotiate the terms and settlements and agreements and contracts. I think this is where China will step in and essentially bank roll the entire deal or become a major investor in European energy via a few russian companies. I think the USG and big oil are trying very hard to make sure they also get in the action too.
Banks play a huge role tool Gold and Silver will rule.
Ok, let’s all listen to the Communist Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine, Gao Yusheng about what is “really” happening in Ukraine. I think I’ll go elsewhere for information on the fighting in Ukraine. Even CNN might be more accurate than a Communist information source.
But the CCP has such a great track record in military engagements! (NOT!, major sarc!)
Yes, let’s listen to Gao Yusheng despite reality proving otherwise. Gao must channel FJB every day.
what did you smoke ???- check-The Vineyard of the Saker……
So you disagree with the ambassador’s assessment of Russia’s impoverished military?
And you think an anonymous internet author is a more competent analyst?
If the anonymous author you refer to is sundance: a resounding YES, he is.
And so are most at the Treehouse. (Me, I’m just on a small branch absorbing the wisdom, as per usual…)
Saker is the best place for biased Russian news, which in my experience is orders of magnitude more reliable than the propaganda we get here.
That guy must be anti Russia. He’s the only expert saying that. This was over on day 1. The Ukrainian troops are fighting with their commanders and refusing to fight. Tons surrendering, and saying leadership is terrible. When you shoot your own troops in the back if they retreat, or surrender. You have major problems. Military is hunting down male civilians for cannon fodder. Russia took out 50 Ukrainian commanders, and 10 USA howitzers all at once a day, or 2 ago. Some good sources on this, Gonzalo Lira, Scott Ritter, Intel slava z, askepticsubstack.com, thesaker.is
Traditionally, its officers that carry sidearms, and for a reason,..not to necesarily use against enemy troops, so much as your own.
You mean THIS sidearm?
Scott Ritter is a Russian asset.
China, yes. But Russia is winning – they’re going against an even poorer country in Ukraine – this is a walk in the park. All they have to do is rocket them into submission. City by city. They can quit and call it a win anytime they want. The ball is totally in russias court – they own their fate.
What do you have against capital letters? It would be easier and more enjoyable to read. And you have good stuff to say.
I don’t spend any time or energy in window dressing. It’s obvious you were capable of understanding, no?
if I could adjust, I would. I can’t. It’s just that simple.
God Bless America
Who cares about window dressing… your content is most appreciated.
As do I yours
It’s not an English paper – it’s a comment – very informative one at that … copy & correct if that helps.
The only thing that changes this: the U.S. of A goes back to Trump era policies. We are the only country other than Russia that can be energy independent and feed our citizens without any support. The only two. And Obiden cut our legs off.
“More Americans believe that it would be better for them for Biden to be removed (56 percent) than Putin (43 percent)”
Biden being removed from power would be even better than curing old age.
Biden is a puppet. Throw him away and another puppet takes his place (Heels Up).
Key R leadership is all corrupted. They might make a total reset more difficult, but only because they are steering it into a different dark hole.
Still two more years of power for the evil installed regime. Quite a LOT can happen, and will.
Those Americans have the right idea but simply the wrong target, due to the Pravda media.
If they knew who was actually in charge of Xiden and Camelala, they would poll the same way about the Obammunist, Susan Rice, and all the rest of the cabal-in-charge.
Keep serving up redpills in every direction…
Great news!
Nothing says WINNING more than a currency getting stronger during a war. I was astonished to see what it did over the last 24 hrs.
One positive note, The Germans and their buddies are turning back to coal for clean energy. Every new sanction equals another win for Russia. FJB
The elites hiding behind NATO while their political puppets attempt to instigate WW III need to know they have more to lose than to gain in this insanity.
And even if they think they have won they will still lose in the long run.
Short term artificially inflated Rubels won’t have a very long shelf life when the pool of nations who buy their only products, energy & arms, recede into fewer than a dozen countries.
There are a whole lot more energy and arms found elsewhere in the world and they will fill up the former supply channels that Putin won’t see again in a long time.
Where is all this energy to export to the rest of the world?
In the USA?
Biden Inc has it locked up and locked down
It was announced last week that Israel (along with Egypt) inked a massive deal with the EU to send natural gas to Western Europe, in unlimited quantities until 2025, and then tapering down to a lower level by 2030.
This could (and I think will) be a game-changer, important for many reasons.
The Bidenistas are inducing national suicide. The global markets will move to actual suppliers, and make a mockery of ideologues who are fundamentally deceived.
USA oil companies can frack oil at far lower cost than Putin can bring high-sulfur oil from Siberia.
The oil reserves will outlast Biden.
Founders1791. You’re blowing smoke. The west is finished. There are no replacements for all that comes from countries like the RF and their now ownership of the productive part of 404, i.e., the former Ukraine. Energy, yes, but also strategic minerals and metals, including Uranium, and grains like corn and wheat. Also noble gases like neon and others needed to manufacture microchips. No wonder President Putin is feeling good these days.
The West is finished? Oh yeah….look who’s blowing smoke
$200 TRILLION in unfunded government programs.
Correct! Going great for them. Biden destroyed the western governments.
You sound like the anti capitalists who voted for biden … plug in their cars … and go to the bank to deposit their capitalistic paycheck.
There are about 160 countries in the world. With us is 30 bankrupt countries including us. With them 130. Joe completely screwed us!
Hmm, Airbus is ignoring the sanctions, in order to buy TITANIUM from Russia.
And heres the kicker; they can get titanium, to build their planes with, elsewhere.
Russia just has a lower price.
So, they aren’t willing to “sacrifice for Democracy” if it cuts their profits, …
I don’t think the sanctions are serious, they are for show.
Russia is a sovereign nation which still appreciates the old-fashioned value of “sovereignty.” It possesses an abundance of natural resources which all of Europe needs, and it is savvy enough to know that it therefore does not need to submit to foreign currency manipulation. (e.g. the “petro-Dollar“)
Therefore, “it simply doesn’t,” and this is the result. If you want to buy Russian gas or oil, then there is one currency that you must use to do so. (If there are “exchange fees” to be paid, then you must pay them ahead of time, so that Russian traders are not exposed to this [unnecessary] business risk.)
If you “have problems with this arrangement,” then we simply turn off the valves until you wise up. 🤷♂️ No, we are not threatening you – we are just telling you the facts.
It’s “the Gas rule.” He who has the Gas, makes the rules … 🤡
It’s all perfectly sensible and perfectly reasonable. Too bad “Western” nations are still content to play shell-games with their currency. I suppose that they think that they are “so very smart …”
Mike Robinson, exactly. The nuclear reactors in the US rely on Russia for about 20% of the processed Uranium they use, but that is gone. States, including Virginia and North Carolina, and others, derive about 30% of their electricity from reactors. Another replacement problem. Just think, if the west had worked with Russia after the breakup of the old Soviet Union instead of letting the old cold warrions and neocons drive them into a closer union with China, where the west would be today. But that possibility is no more.
Good thread.
https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1537122850745815040.html
“Nice thread,” but I really don’t believe it. I think that the Russians are smarter than that. I think that the one thing which they prize is independence and sovereignty. And, this is now paying off.
Never underestimate the ability of Brandon to f… things up!!
Can the ‘Fourth Branch’ do anything effectively other than abuse Americans and steal elections?
Yes they abuse the rest of the world and steal their elections too – what do you think has been going on in Ukraine?
State Dept declares move on Lithuania = move on NATO; implies US response.
These people are itching for something. Must be a pretext for EOs and federal takeovers of industry in the name of wartime footing.
Yes, “the West™” is certainly “itching,” but it remains to be seen what “the only actual player in this game” finally decides to do. And I don’t think that “it means World War III.”
I frankly believe that the Russian government is far more mature than any of its “Western” counterparts. They are very careful not to march to anybody else’s drum. They don’t respond by reflexes to “obvious provocations.” Instead, they decide. Their game is chess.
In the coming days, of course “we shall all see.” But I expect to be pleasantly surprised.
It’s stupid, it’s bold, and yes, the object of the aggression is keenly aware of the provocation’s intent.
Provocatively bold declarations and moves typically go hand in hand with positions of weakness or relative disadvantage. Otherwise, skip the declaration and dancing and go straight to the desired end state as though you were the boss–which you are when you are in control.
Thus, Lithuania is being pressured to instigate a move which puts the object in a state of discomfort. To repair the discomfort is to trip the desired wire. To sustain discomfort and avoid tripping the wire is a PR stunt causing pain. It’s the definition of aggression. Critics will take a different view of context, but so be it, to each his own bookends of constraint conditions.
What does the object country do?
Well, probably just toughs it out, suspecting/knowing that the ploy was made from a state of disadvantage. Calculus is tolerable pain for comparative advantage, so maintain status quo…learn and take notes and file them away.
Guessing that the object has decided to weather substantial PR-type moves with real economic penalties on the belief that the long game places them well ahead, even after a loss.
Guessing also that the threshold for shifting into a forward state would be a rogue, insane western act. After all, the west would have to be insane to dial up into a direct, no-sh*t confrontation.
So, looks like a hail mary to stir the pot for home media consumption and make an emergency political move equivalent to covid mandates because of “war”. Doesn’t mean it will work. But, these people are all about throwing spaghetti at walls.
Yes yes 99-d Putin chess. In reality, Russia just got themselves in a situation that everyone knew was gonna happen with Ukraine, and no one predicted the overwhelming western political alliances of all corporations and media. It’s not working though and Russia just lucked out for now.
Putin isn’t a mastermind, he’s playing rather conservatively, but his back is still to the wall. He needs to win.
His only sane move is to let them have Lithuania and continue bombarding Ukraine into submission. Anything else is just too risky.
Who knows….maybe cancel an election….yep, the old national emergency ploy.
I don’t believe we’ve EVER canceled an election. There is and will be no justification to do so in the immediate future. Short of a dozen or so nuclear war heads landing in the US. Then canceled elections will be the least of our worries.
Lithuania moved against Russia by stopping transport of EU-sanctioned goods from Russia to Kaliningrad, which is Russia’s territory on the Baltic sea coast. Lithuania is provoking Russia because Russia needs to get essential goods to its citizens in Kaliningrad. Lithuania is guilty and the US must not respond to this.
What are they going to take over? McDonald’s? Very little is made here due to their policies.
Lithuania has a 30 year old agreement not to mess with rail shipments to Kaliningrad. They are doing exactly that. It’s a small part of Russia not connected.
The “capital controls” mentioned in the NYT article force Russians to hold rubles when some large number of them would prefer to exchange them for other currencies.
In effect, demand for the ruble is artificially inflated.
Speaking of inflation, the following quote by Vladimir Putin is why many Russians would like to exchange for foreign currency if it were legal: “After a peak of 17.8%, inflation is now [June 16,2022] at 16.7% and continues to decline,..”
15.6% inflation seems like it would be an achievable goal at this time.
Your energetic effort to make your case folded back onto itself, the moment you referenced the discredited New York Times.
This NYT article was the exact same source used by Sundance. Did you read the link?
Do you know what an ad hominem argument is?
Are you saying that Putin does not know the dire state of Russia’s economy?
Bruh, that article is what this discussion is regarding. Get with the program. The ruble really is artificially inflated because Putin had to do that to avoid societal collapse: duh
Self-sufficiency and isolationism sounds feasible to me – after we deport all the illegal aliens, Democats and Rinos.
The European Union and US have continued to hurt themselves out of some weird hatred of Russia or desire to make millions somehow from the war or instructions from the international bankers, WEF, George Soros, etc.
It just boggles my mind why the West would seek to hurt their citizens for something that has nothing to do with national security, but everything to do with US hegemony.
This is my question if anyone can answer. What is the economic benefit provided by Kaliningrad? Now that it has been thrust into the political spotlight it’s hard to get a straight answer. Is this another attempt by the West to hurt Russia economically? It’s a stupid escalation until you take into account TPTB may be out of options and are frightened.
But what I really want to understand is this another attempt to stifle Russia’s economy or is it for the most part entirely for escalation purposes. Lithuania is forcing a blockade and we know they are not acting alone (NATO Member). If this is indeed the latter you know where this is heading. This port was never to be shutdown an agreement Lithuania and the West made. Even if they are extremely important to Russia’s economy this is very dangerous.
One would typically think it would only matter if it was a burden to Russia’s economic model. But alas we are not in typical times.
It dawned on me if it’s a minor inconvenience to Russia’s exports that can only mean one thing. The decision to go to war has been made.
Kaliningrad is Russia’s huge naval base for its Baltic Fleet, its operational and strategic headquarters. It is the only Baltic port that is ice-free all winter. All the other Russian Baltic ports freeze over.
Thank you Belle. I heard that too. It’s only port that’s year round. What NATO is doing sucks either way. It’s an escalation regardless. Was thinking earlier if there’s no hope of this making a dent in Russia’s economy ring clear, there’s only one reason for ordering this blockade. I understand blockades we’re used in the past wars to cause economic damage and/or attrition to the enemy. And that makes sense to me. I also heard that Kaliningrad was not that important economically and that would be the absolute tell as to what is coming IMO. It’s not good either way.
And Russia is using it as a….see how little agreements mean to NATO?
Step by step Russia is shining the beacon on….how corrupt the “West” is.
We have made a LOT of enemies over the years.
The rest we paid off ….
But they still hate us too.
I see what is happening and it is more than concerning.
The US Govt has been bullying/bribing the rest of the World, for a long time, and such boorish behavior doesn’t make friends.
This is Lithuania doing this with the agreement of the EU Commission, but I’m sure NATO is salivating at the possibility that Russia will take military action, so they can all pile on Russian with the excuse of war to cover up all their failures. Russia cannot fly over Lithuania or Poland – NATO restrictions. They will have to supply Kaliningrad by sea, travelling from other Baltic ports (until they ice over) sailing down the Baltic between NATO countries for the whole trip. When those ports ice over, Russia will have to supply Kaliningrad by ship from Sevastopol, way to the south, through the Bosporus and Dardanelles (controlled by NATO Turkey) around the whole of Europe to get to the Baltic. According to the sanctions list, Lithuania will cut oil and gas from rail shipment in January, the depths of winter. Kaliningrad has a population of 400,000 or so.
The only reasons to do this are to escalate the war and out of hatred of Russia. Lithuania is counting on Russia not wanting war with NATO. Another complicating factor is that Lithuanians during WWII were Nazi collaborators (they killed 90-96% of their Jewish population) and they hate the Russians because of Stalin’s cruelty to Lithuanians. So Lithuanians tend to sympathize with the Azov Regiment and other Right Sector groups in Ukraine.
The blockade so far does not include food or other basic items. The tech stuff and building supplies and other commodities can be supplied via ship from St. Petersburg until Winter. I would guess Putin will seek diplomatic solutions to the Kaliningrad situation until Winter.
That way he has time to solidify the gains in Ukraine. By the middle of Fall if nothing has changed I would expect a large Russian military force to stage in Belarus near the Lithuanian Border. That is MHO. Mr. Putin’s mileage may vary.
“Bishop to King’s Knight five.” It remains to be seen what the counter-move will be.
When the real world butts up against the crafted narratives of western institutions and media, this is what it leads to. Biden is not only destroying America, he’s strengthening Russia and dragging our “allies” down with him. But of course Biden is just the figurehead.
Not surprising, Putin isn’t sabotaging his own currency the way that the Incompetent is sabotaging ours.
So a currency that purchases real energy is superior to one that must expand or collapse to zero value?
That makes me smile. When we have bad guys running our country I don’t want them to win.
Maybe rename them sank-sh**s. They ain’t workin’.
Some musicians in my town are holding an ‘evening of caring’ concert to benefit the Ukraine at $20 a pop. Sad that these over educated liberals dont want to, or refuse to look deeper into the massive govt corruption and the nazi battalions that infest the ukrainian military. I tried to comment on the website that posted this using headlines and links from their very own MSM, and my comment was censored as disinformation and ruskie propaganda.
No fan of putin, but he has done what he said he would do from the beginning.
Our plucky squad of intrepid Pontiac Aztek sales folk will no doubt be frothing at the beak to explain to us that according to their “experts” this means Russia is on the verge of collapse.
Cue the oligarch owned Newsweek, WSJ, NYT, WP, etc copium to sell the message.
3…2…1
Should we outlaw VKgoeswild yet? Hope not….
Who and where are the 43% that think Biden should stay… and Putin, go? They aren’t on the “street.”
The superpowered Ruble is a gift from Biden to Putin.
Free the American oil industry to do their job, and US inflation will slow down significantly, our economy will have a chance to try to get om its feet again, and Russia will stop getting windfall profits from its oil and gas, which will also slow the Ruble down, and make it hard for Puti to continue his plans for conquest.
Not only is the ruble stronger then ever – the supermarket shelves are fully stocked including baby formula and to top it off they just reopened McDonalds under a different name. Exact same tasting food at the exact same price as before just no golden arches. As part of the deal the Russian billionaire made with McDonalds in buying all the restaurants (for a relatively modest $400 million) is McDonalds has the right to buy back the chain in ten years. I suspect the golden arches will return to Russian restaurants long before that.
From other reports that I have seen other retail chains from Europe that left are reopening with just a change to the brand name but still the same product. Of course Russian based retail chains and restaurants are loving the reduced competition from foreign companies so another big win for Russia.
Here’s to our economic betters! They know what they are doing to make the U.S. the economic powerhouse of the world.
Looks like JoeBamas foreign policies are just as disastrous as his mentor Obama. Even more so now that the messiahs legacy is not on the table.
JoeBama doesn’t have any foreign policy. This is the Obammunist in power…again.
Americans need to learn who the man behind the curtain really is.
“Then again, the WEF coalition doesn’t really seem to care as long as they can continue chasing their Build Back Better agenda.”
There’s no reason to believe anything will be built back, let alone better. Chaos breeds chaos. Order entails complexity developed over generations. We’re in the grips of destruction for destruction’s sake, very demonic.
As the etymology suggests, currencies transport social current. This medium of exchange role is rendered meaningless in a world where peer-to-peer exchange has been completely overthrown by behaviorally-incentivized (as opposed to productively-incentivized) UBI coupons emanating from a central authority to its neo-serfs (humans stripped anew of economic energy and agency).
If my peer no longer produces green widgets and I no longer produce yellow widgets, all we have left to exchange are blank stares.
A dystopic world where you will own nothing (beyond a uniform consumable stipend of coffee and eggs) has no need for currencies to navigate and distribute disparities in individual holdings.
The USD gathered up the world under one rubric of debt. Its job is now mostly done. I’ve always felt the USD will be the last currency in the conventional sense of the term. All the debate over what currency or currency form will supersede the USD distracts from the perfect Panopticon they’re building above our heads.
The only real currency has always been power and control. Legal tender was only ever an interim instrumentality that formed a pecking order (unit of account) & crowd control mechanism for the jostling masses.
This is a very interesting interview with the two American mercenaries in Russian captivity:
Good news, Vlad. Keep pushing forward !!
FJB must be removed this month Whore cannot be president by law as she is an anchor baby!
Piglosi will be replaced by Trump as speaker of the house soon so America can start healing!
My heart is heavy today. Speaking yesterday to two women they hateTrump, love Biden. It’s all Putin’s fault for the price of gas.
Let’s Go Brandon !!!
