Last Friday the Biden administration raised the mandatory amount of biofuel, specifically ethanol, that must be blended within the U.S. gasoline supply. The previous amount of 10% (summer blend) was raised to a year-round 15% (waiver) by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This is likely to lead to two sets of bigger issues, less food and higher gas prices.
♦ First issue. – The Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) is a government mandate, passed in 2005 and expanded in 2007, that requires growing volumes of biofuels to be blended into U.S. transportation fuels like gasoline and diesel every year. Approximately 40 percent of corn grown in the U.S. is used for ethanol. Raising the amount of ethanol required in gasoline will result in the need for more biofuel (corn). With farming costs and outputs already under pressure this could be problematic.
♦ Second issue – The EPA enforces the biofuel standard by requiring refineries to submit purchase credits (known as Renewable Identification Numbers, or RINs) to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proving the purchases. This enforcement requirement sets up a system where the RIN credits are bought and sold by small refineries who do not have the infrastructure to do the blending process. They purchase second-hand RIN credits from parties that blended or imported biofuels directly. This sets up a secondary income stream, a trading market for the larger oil companies, refineries and importers.
The RIN credit trading platform is similar to what we might expect to see if the ‘Carbon Trading’ scheme was ever put into place. However, now that summer biofuel requirements for blended gasoline have gone from 10% to 15%, the price of the RIN credits will likely jump. This will cost refineries billions in additional expenses,…. which will mean the cost of the gasoline from the refineries will increase,….. which will mean the cost of the gasoline at the pump will go higher.
The EPA theory is that RIN credits should be expensive thereby forcing all oil refineries to invest in infrastructure that makes the blended fuel. All of the infrastructure from the refinery to the gas station would need to be modified to facilitate the new 15% RFS standard. Again, higher prices at the pumps as a result of oil companies and refineries needing to spend billions on upgrades. Which brings us to issue number three.
♦ Third Issue – “Ethanol is a valuable source of octane in finished gasoline, but it is chemically different than petroleum gasoline and cannot be used in concentrations above 10 percent in small engines — like outboard boat motors, motorcycles, lawnmowers, generators or chain saws — or in any cars made before 2001. Complicating matters further, most cars on the road today still aren’t warrantied to run on gasoline with more than 10 percent ethanol. Retail stations also must have compatible infrastructure in order to sell gasoline with higher ethanol blends.” This issue is known within the industry as “The Blend Wall.”
The net result of Joe Biden’s EPA raising the mandatory amount of biofuel that must be present in the U.S. gas supply is this:
(1) Less food as more corn is needed for ethanol.
(2) Higher prices for finished and blended gasoline.
(3) Vehicle engines breaking down at a much higher rate.
The predictable Biden outcome is the absolute worst scenario for the middle-class.
ABC Article on the EPA change HERE.
AFPM Background Information HERE.
WASHINGTON – “The American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers group, which represents refineries, called the 2022 figure “bewildering and contrary to the administration’s claims to be doing everything in their power to provide relief to consumers.” The group said unachievable mandates will increase fuel production costs and keep consumer prices high.” (more)
Intentional destruction of the US economy to force green energy policies.
In the midst of soaring gas prices, Biden authorizes Defense Production Act for solar panels.
Intentional.
Nonsense. Green energy is just a ruse, as is anthropogenic climate change. The purpose is to reduce standard of living, increase dependency on government, and basically eliminate mobility and self-sufficiency. Issue #3 is really the big one, because this means that your car, lawn tractor, and chain saw, maybe even your gasoline generator, are going to break down quickly unless you take steps to prevent that from happening.
Going to take a lot of work-arounds to stay ahead of these vandals. You may want to find a source for ethanol free gas for your power equipment if you can, get a good set of hand tools, and maybe even consider an ethanol conversion kit for your vehicle and get a still up and running so you can manufacture your own fuel. I’m no expert on this, but that is the kind of thinking that is needed going forward, just like how to keep your family sheltered and fed for as long as it takes for this to shake out, maybe a couple of years barring some kind of miracle.
Marine gas if you are near a large body of water (I am in coastal Florida). It’s expensive, but so is a new engine.
Yesterday the Butt-jigger announced that the government was going to purchase all of the food previously sold retail in the United States and then distribute it “EQUITABLY” to American citizens without regard to income or the federal taxes you pay!
Using the communist Venezuelan method to control our food now. Wow 😯
They will include their multiple millions of illegals too.
Government controlling our food now too? Just like communist controlled Venezuela. I can hardly wait. 😳
Buttigeig couldn’t handled the unloading of ships at sea for months, but crazy joe is putting him in charge of our food?
They don’t want to force green energy policies. They want to use that as an excuse to destroy and starve each and every one of us.
I think the planned starvation will be the mechanism by which they disarm us. Whenever there’s an economic crunch, you see gun owners selling their guns at gunshops to raise cash to cover living expenses. Later, when food becomes too expensive to buy, or even unavailable to anyone but govt, they can trade food for guns…
STOP – The basis of the story is FALSE, they are NOT MANDATING 15% Ethanol in all fuel, RATHER they are allowing the use of E-15 Year Round (previously it was not allowed in summer because of increased pollution).
I have emailed Admin to no avail but a simple internet search will confirm my statements.
So what? This administration does everything in their power (and sometimes outside) to intentionally destroy the US economy. This is just another small step in that direction. And how long do you think it will take until they start mandating it?
Been on the Interstates lately? Prices will be met with lower demand.
Karl Denninger at Market-ticker lives in the Eastern part of TN. A few weeks ago he said RV traffic is way down and car traffic is lower as well. This doesn’t bid well for the tourist areas, such as Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains.
I’m surprised these tourist areas ever survived the Covid lockdowns. Looks like a one-two punch. And tourist areas like Florida will suffer exponentially after the Green New Deal ends all domestic flights.
‘Ends all domestic flights’. That’s one part of AOC’s green new deal agenda. Voters need to read all 14 pages of her proposed BS agenda. She’s willing to shut down another whole American industry.
2 Consecutive weekends I was on I-65 in North Alabama. This is usually when traffic is nearly bumper to bumper for Southbound traffic headed to the beach from Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiaina, Michigan and Wisconsin. I was surprised at how little traffic there was both weekends.
A couple of years ago, we remodeled our backyard to include a new bbq grill and fire pit, pavers, a hot tub and a pergola-covered seating area with garden.
Am I glad we did! Looks like backyard vacations will make a comeback. And I can also bicycle to the beach.
Oil is renewable.
Bury enough rinos and eventually they’ll become oil.
*smirk*
I see what you did there. You win the Internet for today!
I like…
At first, I was wondering, “What, rinos?”, then it hit me.
Excellent post!
Oil is aboitic
people will say that’s an unproven theory. I’m still waiting for proof of fossils ever found in crude oil.
All non-living components of an ecosystem, such as the atmosphere, water resources, etc. are called abiotic components. In biology, abiotic factors can include water, light, radiation, temperature, humidity, the atmosphere.
So where do the carbon and hydrogen molecules come from.
Rocks.
The installed puppet in the White house and the Criminal Organization formerly known as the Democrat Party must think they will be immune and/or protected from the social consequences of their insane schemes. Guess they think they will. Not looking forward to the next few months on any level. We need to get these criminals out of office as quickly as possible before they really do bring this country to its knees. Hungry people do desperate things.
Who in the long run profits from this?
Tom Steyer, Gates, and other wealthy leftists who will cash in on forced adoption of so called green energy policies. Companies that provide it and investors in those companies.
And the little Fascists in Gubmint. We’re being moved into a neo-Feudalism, with the Plutocrats giving the orders.
This is all be managed by the oligarchs of Davos, Bilderberg, Trilateral Commission, those guys. The names that we know to be attached include Schwab, Gates, Obama Soros and probably some even bigger people behind them. The Wuflu was the signal that they were going to go for broke to build their new version of the Tower of Babel. And that gives you a better idea of who is behind it all: these days it’s called progress, before that it was known as antichrist, and before that Moloch. It’s all about death, which is why all those in support are fervent about non-reproductive sex (previously known as perversion) and child sacrifice and go psychotic when those things are criticized.
Someone here said we now have an oligarchy… a government that hates its citizens.
I’m invested in energy – trying to figure out how to survive this insanity. Seems to me these renewables won’t really work well in the long run – but I suppose certain people will make even larger piles of money in the process.
renewable WILL work in the long run.
the issue is about economic scale and delivery.
I can drive 500 miles and LOAD fossil fuels in my vehicle. And then drive back home. I can transit energy across long distances and then also store it.
The problem with renewables is not just the last mile problem. It’s a 500 miles problem.
At the very least rational people need to recognize that renewable is niche at least for the next 100 years. With carbon fossils doing the base level load supply of energy.
When we talk about “infrastructure”, it is so much more than just building some complex grid. It’s a global logistics challenge that no current engineering or financing has a solution to offer.
the reality is this: in certain POCKETS of the world, renewable energy can be achieved rather quickly. But in terms of a global energy market ….that will take a very long time.
Some things you just can’t throw money at and expect to solve.
obviously…case point: if money was the issue, why hasn’t the US or any other nation determined to put humans back on the moon? It’s obviously scientifically technically possible. And there are good and valid reasons to colonize the moon. But no one has the stones to do it.
So we are frozen, paralyzed by a lack of imagination..and also the very hard limits of logistics.
what the world needs is two things:
trim back…yes, the excesses of societies is unworkable in the long run.
concentrate stragegies to solve the looming energy crisis.
(noting: we haven’t even gotten close to energy scarcity..but it will happen in my lifetime..the 20 years left of it anyway.)
jmho
I want to ask a serious question. Why would you believe we went to the moon? I know you a are a smart person Regi…I’m not patronizing you at all.
Nothing has survived the Van Allen Belt. Nothing.
They didn’t have that rocket tech then, beyond the other obvious issues.
Elon Musk does. Now.
The US Gubmint did it back then?
C’mon now man!…lol. Really?
The big companies: Big oil, big data, Big health care, big pharma, big government, NWO, WEC. Even in healthcare — the best paying jobs/positions require you to be crooked or ethically compromised, or stand on the necks of people you supervise in order to keep yours.
Yep, it’s why I quit big pharma in 2021. After 20 years (collectively).
I saw what they were and I am not one of them. It took me quite a while to figure it out, probably because I was in disbelief that people are evil.
We are all sinners. Some are just better at it.
we are ALL VERY “good” at it.
some are very good at reconciling their sins AND MAKING AMENDS.

Environmental consultants and lawyers.
The EPA theory is that RIN credits should be expensive thereby forcing all oil refineries to invest in infrastructure that makes the blended fuel.
I see a whole lot of EPA approved permitting to get that infrastructure in place.
Yes, and that EPA permit will be much easier to acquire if you hire a consultation firm that just happens to employ politicians’ kids.
POWER.
They’re not worried, with GOP complicity the Democrats have Dominion over their future.
and letting 12,000 more illegals enter our country in the coming weeks is going to add to the violence and frustrations felt by everyday Americans.
No that’s 12000 this week, get it right. They have no idea who and how many are coming over our border. But we will know if the civil war kicks off see who’s side they are on.
That’s a feature the politicians are counting on… Illegals keep labor costs down and lead to increased violence that they’ll say can only be fixed if government has more power.
Destroy gasoline cars to make people buy electric.
Tearing it down to build it back better.
You beat me to it.
They KNOW most cars cannot run 15% ethanol without destroying the engines.
This is deliberate.
When does it become revolution time, and what steps must be taken before we can collectively say we tried everything?
Indeed. But nothing about it, whatsoever, will be better.
Untrue.
??? Sorry, I don’t understand. Are you saying that BBB will be a better society?
LULZ. We are facing rolling blackouts this summer because the power generation can’t meet demand in our Third World Dictatorship. You can buy a crappy EV, but getting it to charge in a blackout is another thing all together.
Did you see in the other thread where joetato wants to sell the Port Arthur LNG plant to Germany?? We get 44% of our electric from LNG, bro.
sempra..and also to poland!
Exactly, so protect yourself by doing what Schwab, Gates, Steyer, Fink, Kerry and Jamie Dimon are doing…buy stock in electric vehicle stocks like Tesla and Rivian! Swimming against the stream is only going to wear you out. You don’t have to bet the farm on EV stocks but get a few hundred shares. You buy ammo, right?
You may want to take a look at their balance sheets first..
Tesla went from $20 to $1000 a share and nobody seemed to worry about their balance sheet.
I don’t think the strategy is to force you into electric cars–they’re destroying the power generating capacity across the nation. There wouldn’t be enough power to charge all of these cars. I think they’re pursuing a plan to bankrupt the middle class, forcing them out of their cars, and onto the bus, just like in third world countries…
Correct. They don’t want us moving around much. How can they properly terrorize us if we have a means of escape?
it makes perfect sense for high density city dwellers…
but the question has always been: if it’s economically viable, why aren’t private companies lining up to provide it/
spoiler: private companies can’t make money with transportation unless they get big hand outs from uncle satan
That’s the Biden plan. When people are deciding if the have enough money to buy groceries or gas to get to work, old joe just piles more unaffordable issues that they can’t afford. What a guy, worried about his sliding poll numbers he’s decided we can buy electric cars or walk. Such a fool.
Every time I come to the treehouse, I think that I have seen the most infuriating post by Sundance, and every day there is something more sinister and infuriating still.
When will the lid blow on this pressure cooker? They don’t even hide it? They take joy in destroying us.
DD
What pressure cooker? There is fire but no pot. That would be the GOP. Convert voter anger into passive compliance. What a scam and it just keeps going no matter how much you turn up the flames.
And no. You can’t reform the GOP based on 40 years of evidence including all the latest primary results. We used up all the time and opportunity to resist by wasting our efforts on the GOP. The leftist billionaires who set GOP priorities got more than they could have ever hoped.
You are so correct about the GOP (unsalvageable) and yet on these walls we still find people advocating for the party. Just “change” the party composition. Followed by passive defense of the likes of Kevin McCarthy all.
In the case of the GOP the devil you know IS NOT better than the devil you don’t. And yet people keep falling for it even coming out and saying “lesser of two evils”.
Who casts a vote for (lesser) evil and expects things to get better? Answer: the clinically insane!
They are NOT “TPTB” (The Powers That Be) they are “TIIIC” (The Insane Idiots In Charge) and they will NOT stop, they will need to BE stopped, you can NOT reason with them, …they are INSANE.
They are not in contact with REALITY, like the nutjob who insists they are Napolean, or the Queen, and demands you indulge their delusion.
And, they are taking actions which harm themselves and others.
In most all societies, individuals exhibiting these two qualities are removed from society, so they don’t harm themselves or others.
We DO need “red letter laws”, to remove leftists/globalist IIIC from society, and they will KEEP harming us, until we do.
They are Nihilists. They exist to destroy. They crave utter chaos and anarchy as long as they are directing the zombies and providing the brain suppers for them before sending them on to destroy even more.
Sadly, it is even simpler than that – they crave POWER and MONEY.
Look no further, and you will have a sound explanation for their every single seemingly inexplicable decision.
The scary thing is they aren’t really running the show. The people running these idiot politicians are doing it on purpose for profit and power.
Just watch for the “savior” RINO they’ll run in 2024 who will fix everything by doubling down on anything that helps gather more power. This us like the great depression all over again…. Biden is playing Hoover and the RINO will play FDR… communists and their fascist siblings will be coming out of the woodwork to start WW3.
I agree about the “red” wave. The ENEmedia will play it up good, lulling us into a false sense of complacency yet again.
When will people learn that there exists NO opposition party? Probably not until they are all eating bugs and own nothing.
Exactly.
This country still appears to be laboring under a misapprehension that we have a valid, functioning political system. We don’t. The two-party system is just an illusion, two sides of the same coin.
The only actual remaining paradigm is Government vs. We The People, i.e. The Occupying Force vs The Resistance.
And this one will crumble into dust, too, as soon as We stop accepting being treated like indentured slaves. We are the FREE PEOPLE, and we should kick our own butts and start living like it. It is now up to each and every one of us. I hereby withdraw my consent to be governed by these people. Proceed accordingly. The End.
most Gewish cabinet in history
they aren’t insane or incompetent
that leaves one other option
This is why they have to control all social media and shut down every voice that dissents from their lunacy: any sentient person understands what the game is and how they are deliberately doing things that will make our problems worse, but hey, you can’t protest— or vote against — what you don’t know about.
Tonight’s news propogandists will tell Americans something like “The Biden administration took strong action today to increase solar energy availability and increase the gasoline supply. Isn’t it wonderful?!”
No. This is the most un-American admin I’ve ever seen.
One would normally think that when an administration like Biden’s has been, his poll numbers would be in the single digits.
Sams club has already gone to e15 my gas millage from them is garbage. They should be going the opposite direction better gas millage equals less gas needed. Better for our engines saves people more money.
They don’t want to save people money. We all know that!

Obama started the destruction with the so-called Cash for Clunkers program. The Wicked destruction of perfectly serviceable cars that did not have tracking software built into them and were affordable for people who are not making a lot of money. Seeing these being destroyed by being run with no oil in them made me weep with anger and vexation.
One eight blah blah blah blah.. cars for kids.. one eight blah blah blah blah.. cars for kids.. 🎶
We are so gullible.
In addition to that, Obama also made a video telling us THEIR energy agenda ‘would necessarily cause our energy costs to skyrocket’. So, it’s not like those who put old joe in our WH, weren’t warned he would, and is, putting many of Obama’s failed policies in place once again.
Wonder how this crap will work in my hybrid?
Biden0bama is demon possessed. My wife thinks I’m genius for installing a solar system on the house a year ago, studying the telemetry the past year, and upgrading it and getting an EV. If my assumptions about the EV and upgrade are as accurate as my assumptions were for the solar system in its original state, we’ll produce about 90% of all the power we consume in our all-electric, two-story house while charging the EV to drive it ~200 miles per week. And all of it will pay for itself about 9 to 10 years from now (10 to 11 years since I bought the original solar equipment), including the interest on the HELOC I took out to pay for it.
But that’s only because I’m in a prime situation for solar and because I did most of the homework on my own. Solar or wind power at the utility level is insane.
Time will be telling. Go0d luck.
Hey, they’re just “following the science,” 180 degrees out of agreement with it as usual:
America Was Wrong About Ethanol – Study Shows
Using Corn For Fuel Seems Like A Dumb Idea In Light Of New Research
4 May 2022
Ethanol makes up 10% of most of the gasoline sold in the United States. A large part of why Ethanol is so prevalent is that the Renewable Fuel Standard, created in 2005, wanted to reduce the emissions of the fuels we use. Ethanol created from corn is renewable, because the corn takes carbon from the atmosphere to grow, creating a cycle that minimizes how much carbon is added to the atmosphere. At least, that’s the story we were told.
New research out of University of Wisconsin – Madison, suggests that “the carbon intensity of corn ethanol is no less than gasoline and likely at least 24% higher.”
I repeat myself but if ethanol was banned for use in gasoline we would add billions of bushels of corn and soybeans to our food supply!! It’s a no brainer would make gasoline cheaper because ethanol is unnecessary, done just for environmental wackos, and would provide more food! What’s not to like? Trouble is the GOPe cave to the Iowa corn lobby every time! Just give the corn farmers the higher ethanol price but add the corn to the food supply!!! Better to pay a higher price for food than to have none at all!!!
Using your food supply for fuel is beyond stupid.
Yes, especially when your food supply is already threatened by a fossil fuel shortage.
Also thanks to old joe’s decisions made on his first two days in power. 😡
this is correct. corn based ethanol at the refined product has only 2/3 of the BTU’s of fossil oil.
it’s actually worse than the 24 percent that this popular youtuber explains.
and here is why:
the AMOUNT of energy requires to farm to refine corn based oil is extraordinarily ridiculous.
The REASON why this method is chosen is because of specific regulations placed on fossil fuel. It’s just that simple. If the US for example lifted just 8 specific regulations (none of which have any impact on pollutions, environment, or carbon release), the efficiency (cost wise) of producing and refining OIL into usable gasoline (and diesel) goes up by another 11 percent! Yes, it IS true….Oil refineries are hamstrung by regulations that COSTS them additional power, time and resources to align to policy. But corn based ethanol have fewer of these regulations and policy requirements.
For example…If I file to explore and then explore for oil, I must perform a very exhaustive (time) study for environmental impact. And if it does not fall just perfectly in line, I will not get the lease and I cannot drill.
But the same IS NOT TRUE for corn farmers! or even refineries that blend ethanol to classic oil.
think about that.
what you end up with is policy tax on classic oil and no policy tax on farm “oil”.
this was deliberate. the corn future markets seized on the lessons of the 1970’s oil crisis and they have never let a crisis lay to waste…even creating a crisis to provide more volatility.
we are subject to casino players.
that’s our primary problem with energy. A market that is completely fraudulent. top down.
Less gas mileage for sure. So more trips to the pump at $6 plus…
If it doesn’t destroy your car’s engine first…which it will.
“The way to destroy the middle class is to grind them between the wheels of high taxation and high inflation.”
The way to destroy the generational Satanists in charge is to grind them between the Judgment Seat of God and St. Michael Archangel.
The other big issue is that a lot of vehicles can’t run well on that high a concentration. Especially older ones.
Increasing vehicle repair and maintenance costs are now going befall those who can least afford the added financial stress.
These ideologues suck.
Assuming any parts necessary for repairs are even available. Multiply by millions of cars needing them and hey, presto, no cars on the road. Which is their intent.
It’s not a bug, it’s a feature in the WH latest plan to force everybody onto EV’s
A lot of new ones won’t run for long either. Many car manufacturers will void the warranty if you run > 10% ethanol
I think I haaaave oldsoul and you confused. I think oldsoul is a troll…
It’s looking like the Biden WH is following the script of X-Files!
Uh oh!
the thing about those that control hollywood is that they love to declare what they are planning out in the open like this. it’s not writers trying to warn us, it’s writers trying to humiliate us.
Revelation of the Method.
This administration hates us and wants us to die. No, not being poor – die. Famine, clot shots, escalating crime, removing our weapons, removing our rights enshrined in the Bill of Rights, illegal alien invasion which includes cartel and terrorists, illegal drugs, no baby formula, goading Russia to nuke us, etc.
It is as if this administration was installed and not elected. I thought that elected representatives would be sensitive to our needs so that they can be re-elected. I must not know something……
DOMINION. Death Of Mankind In Neverending Inferno Of Nihilism.
Got news for you…..it was installed. The “public” didn’t have any choice.
First, with homosexuality and sexual deviancy in general, we learned: “YOU WILL BE FORCED TO CARE!”
Then, with our basic freedoms, we learned: “YOUR FREEDOMS ARE NOT ABSOLUTE!”
Now, with these unconstitutional mandates to damage and possibly bankrupt our transportation system, we learn:
“YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY BE FORCED TO WALK!“
We’re all Amish now.
The big problem with that is —-they don’t want to allow Cows to live any more, too much ‘gas’ so how will they allow us to keep horses to get where we want to go?…..don’t horses produce gas also?
YOU, aren’t meant to live. Unless its constrained to a hovel on your feudal lords land.
Thank you — I needed that laugh!
The window of opportunity is closing for them to do the damage they want. What will be interesting to see, is how much help they’ll get from the RINOS after November.
The Republican clowns are owned by the same psychopaths.
Don’t forget too that ethanol doesn’t have the energy density of gasoline, so fuel economy drops too.
fuel economy yes, by about 5-11 percent, depending on the blend, the type of car AND YES, the type of driving that you do.
but even fuel “economy” does not illustrate the total distortion either.
it takes about 30 percent MORE energy to REFINE corn into alcohol
it takes about 10 percent MORE energy to then provide the specific chemical additives that allow classic fossil fuels and ethanol to combine and remain in suspension.
and then there is shelf life and other problems.
classic fossil fuel has a large storage limit to around 30 days before the octane level significantly reduces…and this is compounded by certain “low ends” that not only form inefficient “gum”, but also make it far less efficient in the combustion phase.
ethanol based fuels, even with the premium expensive blending formulas (also energy expensive) do not have nearly the 30 days storage life.
And it gets worse. ethanol even with premium blends are hydrophilic, about as much or even more than diesel…So you end up with the water vapor and dissolved water in the fuel. For gasoline engines, there is one sure way to cause short and long term damage: water in the combustion phase. even a small tiny amount has an incredible pressure and temperature gradient …even in a short period of time, even if the engine does not fail, the seals, the gaskets, the rings and the piston and the crank and heads up to and INCLUDING the evap and emmissions systems will start to fail.
what you wind up with, even in best case scenarios is a engine that will run very inefficiently. You get less miles, less power, and ultimately less life.
no car manufacturer will ever honor an engine warranty running fuel it was not specifically designed to power.
facts
Libs are trying to kill the internal combustion engine.
Under Trump we were near a perfect distribution system. As we “transition” to EVs the loss in volume of petroleum refinement and distribution will also increase costs.
Further, the knowledge that more restrictive regulation is only a pen stroke away will prevent future investments. In time we will reach a tipping point where gas will no longer be feasible.
Remember, modern vehicles can last 30 years and travel over 300,000 miles. Vehicles older than about 2015 are generally not trackable by the state so they must go. Automobiles allow a freedom of travel for Americans that few others have.
Your years are off by about 15-16 on tracking. Anything with onstar, or similar features is tracked.
OGM started installing OnStar in about 2006 and it could be disabled without effecting the engine.
Disconnecting is not so simple with the newer cars.
Not if the antenna is disconnected
Marine gas is your friend. My 2001 GMC 2500HD loves it and has only primitive computer systems.
Yes, one more reason to locate near docks, dunes and racing, and in a conservative county. The variety of fuels available so far have been breathtaking. We’ll see if that holds or not. I expect not but there are always options.
My vehicles range from 36 to 58 years old so fuel is a relevant issue. Clear gas is like night and day in the portable and two-stroke stuff too. With the logging industry I expect that to hold until the bitter end. Sad that it’s come to this.
marine gas is just 91+ octane
Fixed it for ya. . .
“Libs are trying to kill the citizens of the USA.”
Let’s kill libs and keep the combustion engine instead.
“What can we do to make things worse while looking like we’re trying to make them better?!”
“The EPA theory is that RIN credits should be expensive thereby forcing all oil refineries to invest in infrastructure that makes the blended fuel. ”
{bouncing up and down in my seat, waiving raised hand] Oh! Oh! Oh!
But didn’t I also read last week that America’s decreased refinery capacity due to a hurricane and other issues, which is also contributing to the increase in gas prices (decreased supply), will NOT be alleviated AT ALL because refineries have no plans to invest in increased capacity because they see no future for them in the electric car future the GND nut cases are bragging about. NO ONE is going to invest in the capacity the EPA is attemtping to incentivize.
These faculty lounge thinkers are attemting to pursue and force contradictory and incompatible policies.
Very similar to the organic food nut cases who want to ban chemical fertilizers in favor of manure, but who also want to eliminate meat production. Hey, no meat, no manure.
Truest words I’ve seen in a while. . . . right as usual just an ordinary person, not a regular big wig. Thanks. Oh almost forgot to add……..not stupid either.
Combustion engines wil fail faster.
As long as the vehicle is set up for it, fuel types are pretty neutral. Forex, engines run on natural gas, hydrogen, methane, various types of diesel and fuel oil, as well as straight methanol.
One emerging strategy in drive/race categories is multi-fuel engines, running at reduced performance during drive with various types of gasoline and, when certain performance levels are sensed, the engine switches to pure methanol. Considering the performance levels, engine life has been IMO remarkable. The key is in precise control and using the proper materials in the construction of both the engine and fuel system.
I’m an old fart and love my old school stuff but recognize that progress marches on even in the face of all this ‘green’ stuff. People will find a way.
methanol/ethanol fuel for racing was imposed for safety reason since it is water soluble thus easily drenched out. there is no good reason to use that shite because due to its simalarity to water it causes corrosion as if you were burning water.
Everything the JoeBama team does is designed to cause Bain and suffering to Americans. Everything, no exception.
Any attempt to ‘lessen’ the pain is a shear fraud. A deception to continue inflicting more pain while blaming others for their act.
Bringin’ da pain. Ampin’ it up. While cowerin’ behind guns and whinin’ that somebody else did it. Whining that it’s not their fault. And doing it again.
Everything they do brings pain.
I suppose Bain and Romney have always been synonymous with bringing pain to the people.
But I meant pain, not Bain. Oops.
The powers that be and fact checkers have already fixed google and all the bots to say 15% of ethanol is safe.
So how’s that “Green New Deal” / “Build Back Better” workin’ out for ya?
This interview with Naomi Wolf really lays out well what’s underway, and what that portends:

She’s a former Clinonista that has become red-pilled about the CCP-Globalist agenda.. Similarly, Dr. Robert Malone and Dr. Yeadon have been red-pilled, as have Neil Oliver and (to some extent) Joe Rogan.
So at least the evil agenda is getting some exposure. Whether enough and/or in time, is to be determined.
Pray. Pray often. Pray hard.
Oh no. Your car isn’t going to like this.
Kustie The Clown: In the future, “your car” will be a city bus. The bus will be late. Please wear a mask.
Seems like a pretty adept strategy to kill rural America, something rail (wood, coal, diesel) and vehicles (gasoline and diesel mostly) opened up and now which provide the bulk of America’s and some of the world’s food.
They won’t be able to kill dyno fuel without something to replace it in that realm, else no food production nor transportation of food materials and products.
The end game.
Resident Obiden’s sole goal each day is to cause as much hardship, misery and destruction to Americans as possible.
Get it straight – this is intentional destruction of our livelihoods and our lives.
I just want to know when is enough enough? When do we pull this illegitimate administration out of their cozy beds and eliminate them from their powerful positions? It is now a life or death scenario, and if we don’t act soon, a very large number of American citizens will needlessly die.
woah, cool it with the anti-semitism
/s
You already know the answer: Never.
We are seeing Nietzsche’s Last Men play out right before our eyes.
EVERYTHING that this POS and his minions and puppet-masters do harms the country and its citizens.
FJB!
America is based on a system of CHECKS & BALANCES! Bullshit; this madman is STILL IN POWER and his crack-head son is STILL DOING BIDEN DIPLOMACY! Expect MARTIAL LAW just before the mid-term election UNLESS a Democrat win is ASSURED; otherwise after the election! Prepare!
And so…what is to be done?
Will an oil company refuse to obey?
Is this the moment when we all shrug and extend our hands for the shackles?
Or is it the moment for something else?
I am ready to shrug and extend my hand to slap the sh!t out of each and every member of this junta.
From what I understand this is the intentional destruction of the United states:
my information indicates that E15 WILL NOT work / destroy small engines lawn mowers, snow blowers, chain saws, leaf blowers, most motorctcles etc
Void warranties on most cars, will harm, if not destroy engines in most cars older than 10 years or so !
What will it take to get action to end this ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
“Another big difference: Because E85 contains just 73 to 83 percent of the energy found in a gallon of gasoline, range and measured fuel economy both decrease when operating on E85. Fuel economy typically drops by 15 to 27 percent relative to today’s pump gasoline, most of which has contained 10 percent ethanol since 2010.”
…
“Selling E85 requires installation of a dedicated tank, which reportedly costs in the neighborhood of $60,000, which helps explain the dearth of E85 stations. The DOE offers a zip-code station locator here…”
…
“Ethanol as fuel has been a political football for years, pitting Midwestern corn-producing states against the rest of the country in a pitched battle for fuels legislation (the Iowa caucus going first in presidential campaigns makes it political suicide to be against ethanol).
As the new-vehicle market has shifted away from E85 compatibility, the Renewable Fuels Association has switched its focus to increasing the “regular gas” blend from 10 to 15 percent.”

Don’t know why you are going on about E-85. That is not what is being discussed. The gov is talking about going from 10% to 15% ethanol. E-85 is up to 85% ethanol. I don’t even know of a place to get E-85. Never seen it for sale. That stuff WOULD do damage to gasoline engines.
ummm…you need to hit the books on the subject and learn what e85 IS.
The oil company executives need to sue the EPA. Take it to court. At the least, they need to bring it to congress for a hearing and explain the dilemma this will cause. The farmer associations need to do the same thing.
sure, sue. see you in ten years when the district judge finally allows a trial, if it’s not dismissed out of hand with prejudice
If our cars don’t break down and don’t do so quickly they won’t be able to force us to buy (go further into debt) an electric car as a replacement….
it’s long past time for the wheels on these communist’s bus to come off!
Intentional destruction of combustion engines.
Gas is up another 20 cents in my area, from 4 40 last week to 4.60 today.
None of this is accidental. I wonder how they’ll feel when their yard work guys refuse to mow their lawns or raise their prices 3 fold because they need to use electric or manual lawnmowers.
Assuming secondary water usage (lawns) has not been “prohibited”.
We’re in a drought…
Don’t ya know
The weeds in my lawn seem to stay green no matter what! We’ve had a lot of rain lately so even though we are officially in a short term drought along the coast, so far, so good.
$1000 for a Milwaukee battery push mower
I have an electric mower that stopped cutting a couple summers ago. It starts but the blades “seize up” for lack of a better word and don’t spin so the motor cuts off. I SHOULD take it apart to see if something got wrapped up in the engine (nothing visible) but I truly HATE mowing the lawn so that was my excuse to just hire someone to do it. I think it cost around $300 back in 2019. Really, I SHOULD check it out…
Continues its price increase several times a week.
Interesting to note….If your Car/Truck is still under the manufacture warranty or you bought an extended warranty…That warranty will not cover E15 damage if your vehicle was not designed to run on it…Very Few are……..Make sure you pay attention to the gas pump and what the Ethanol % is you are pumping……and that’s assuming the Station puts the proper Ethanol sticker on the pump…..
Doesn’t the intentional destruction of our nation qualify as giving aid and comfort to OUR ENEMIES ?????
TREASON !
They are not giving aid and comfort to the enemy…
They ARE THE ENEMY
No, just the opposite. See, these clowns in DC view us as the enemy, therefore anything they do to improve the nation’s economy would be considered giving aid and comfort to the enemy. They have to destroy us ’cause it’s their patriotic thing to do!
All three ‘issues’ are features, not bugs. Burn up more of our food supply, bankrupt small refiners and destroy nasty gas burning cars at a higher rate, so they can be replaced by $60k golf carts, or not replaced at all.
If you told supporters of this nonsense that they wouldn’t have personal cars by 2030, they would be insulted. Maybe when they’re waiting at a bus stop, or telling their grandkids how everybody ‘used’ to have a car, the light will come on. But I doubt it.
Or they are like my insufferably smug relatives who drive a Tesla and think that none of this touches them. They were also quite happy to take the subsidy for it that Tesla from the rest of us. About $7,000 I believe marked off the price of the car at the expense of all of us poor Schmoes.
Big doubt.
By Any Means Necessary. BAMN. 🤬
Guess I better store some gas for the small engines ,FJB !!!!!
We will need a lot more petroleum to raise all that corn.
The avalanche of sh*t just keeps coming. I have a suspicion that the bigger loads have yet to be rolled out.
Ethanol= A schlock American version of Soviet-liberal Lysenkoism.
Haven’t posted in long time for family obligations.
IMO- they (commies) are taunting us into doing something. The commies keep doing outrageous un American actions and all we do is anger type our frustrations (I am guilty too).
No one is pushing back and organizing for fear of retribution. Time isn’t on our side.
Soon it’s gonna be too late and we submit to our new leaders rules, laws, dictates.
Dirty rat bastards. Brazenly showing their utter contempt for us all, with every move they make.
What can be done to stop all this?
Well, nothing has worked so far, so the second amendment become vitally important but of course we must use it.
“What can be done to stop all this?”
If you haven’t yet prayed about it, I would try that.
Bungles Biden and his gang of nefarious misfits decide to deprive the starving masses of food and destroy the economy at the same time. More ethanol means less miles per gallon and more pollution. The higher blends will cause damage to some motors.
Stolen elections will destroy our Republic.
