The problem with the Constitution is that it did not come with enough teeth. If it had enough teeth, everyone in charge would be afraid of being bitten.
The problem with a document written by God fearing men was the expectation that all/most men would be God fearing. In the absence of God fearing, you need actual teeth.
Actually it was just the opposite and that mythology is EXACTLY the problem today. Just about every founder you could name from memory pretty much loathed Christianity particularly.
They were known as deist, men of science and natural law, what today would largely be call agnostic.

People who are against Christianity have abused the facts about the religious ideas of the founding fathers for their own aims. They exaggerate the level of skepticism of some of the founding fathers. For example, George Washington was reported to be a regular church attender most of his life and read the Bible and prayed. He also prayed for divine intervention for the nation. The following is an adaptation of his prayer from his Circular Letter to the States that is read aloud each day at Mount Vernon:
“I now make it my earnest prayer, that God would have the United States in his holy protection, that he would incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government, to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another, for their fellow citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field, and finally, that he would most graciously be pleased to dispose us all, to do Justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility and pacific temper of mind, which were the characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without an humble imitation of whose example in these things, we can never hope to be a happy Nation. It would appear, therefore, from the above that George Washington, the father of this country, was indeed a Christian. As to other founding fathers, Alexander Hamilton was a devoted Christian and never renounced his beliefs. John Adams also was a Christian. The religious beliefs of other founders, such as Benjamin Franklin, may be less clear and therefore open to interpretation and doubt. It would be wise to examine more fully and objectively the evidence as to the beliefs of the founding fathers and not interpret in a biased manner an overall set of beliefs because it is important to represent them accurately and truthfully.
As to the issue of Christianity, I agree with George Washington that it ought to guide this nation because it is the only true religion. However, many people do not have an understanding of Christianity.
Christians teach that God created man in His own image, forming him from the dust of the ground and breathing into his nostrils the breath of life. Genesis 1:26-28; 2:7. This is commonly known as “creationism.” Others assert the theory known as evolution that teaches that mankind evolved from apes over millennia. Christians follow the Bible as authoritative because it was inspired by God and this was confirmed by Jesus Christ. The Bible states that God is holy and almighty and that mankind is subject to God and is created for the purpose of fellowship with Him.
God demands worship and obedience from mankind and that we follow His commands concerning how to conduct our lives and our actions. God demands that mankind put Him first in all things. God demands our complete love and devotion and worship of Him before all else in our lives. God wants us to be in harmony with Him and live eternally with Him and have joy forever. God wants us to have a future with Him that is fulfilling.
God wants us to know the truth about Him and to know that He is real. We can know that He is real by asking Him to reveal Himself to us. Prayer is the way to ask Him to reveal Himself because God is spirit and He has given us each a spirit with which to know Him. Those who teach evolution do not accept that mankind is a spiritual being and only believe that mankind is physical in nature. They do not believe in God because they cannot prove with their five senses that God exists even though God’s existence is evident in nature and is apparent to many.
Any who doubt might take the time to pray and ask God to reveal Himself to you and let you know that He exists. You might also read the Bible and ask God to show you what He would like for you to know about Him. He will hear you and will reveal Himself if you ask sincerely. It might take time because God is an eternal being and is in no hurry. He will reveal Himself to you at the proper time and you will know that He exists. Because God is spirit, He will let you know within your spirit the truth about Himself. The teachers of evolution cannot know Him in this way because they discount the spiritual reality of God and mankind because they only acknowledge observable reality.
The issue and objection by the founders was the progressive means in which religion works.

In the revolution of the 1700’s, only 3% of the population took up arms to fight the british. The Constitution is not the source of my rights. The Declaration of Independence correctly identifies God as the source of my rights. My rights are included in the unalienable gifts of my Creator to me. Someone born in the outback of Australia or the east edge of Zimbabwe has the same rights, but has never lived under a government that was based on protection of those rights.
The government did NOT “give me” those rights.
Neither the Declaration of Independence nor the Constitution are consistently upheld these days (and haven’t been for some time). The fact that my rights are no longer protected or acknowledged by those in places of authority does not change the fact that I have those rights.

The government did not give me those rights, and I have never thought they did. So they can’t take them away either.

The promises of deliverance in Scripture (which are so often misapplied in order to make it look like God owes us deliverance)–are primarily applicable to the US.

I have God-given rights an the only reason for any government is to protect and ensure those rights are not infringed. My take on this discussion is there is no reason to have a government, since the people in it don’t believe in the oath they took and clearly have no intention of upholding the Constitution.

There lies the New Deal, an old friend, dead but not forgotten.
Born of uncertain parentage, in the depths of depression, the illegitimate and promising offspring enjoyed abnormal development.
Grotesque of body, warped in soul and deranged of mind, it possessed all the virtues of the Blue Eagle–all the attributes of the delightful and odoriferous little skunk. Neither mammal, fish nor fowl, it was blessed with the bray of the jack and slit tongue of the serpent, with which it charmed the masses into complacent insecurity.
Democratic freak, Republican monstrosity, political paragon, it fattened the gluttonous greed upon the people’s patriotic stupidity.
Humanitarian, crackpot and spendthrift, it squandered the patrimony of our fathers and mortgaged the future of our grandchildren.
Conceived in political sin, fathered by alien ologies and isms, reared in luxury and corruption, the New Deal died an ignomonious and suicidal death. It became its own assassin.
It now goes late to its last reward with no one to sing its praise, none to weep over its remains or to cover its silent carcass with flowers.
Behold the cold corpse of the most extravagant and expensive ogre of the ages. May it find its final resting place a purgatory of fire and brimstone. Earth to earth, dust to dust, ashes to ashes–and may there be for it no resurrection.

The Bill of Rights itemizes the things that this Government can NOT touch or impact. If they do – they are in violation of there oath of office and have no Constitutional Standing to do anything.
In other words – we have The Constitution or we don’t. No one in government or elsewhere gets to cherry pick what powers or rights are available or not. If we don’t have a 1A or 2A etc then we don’t have a Judicial Branch or Legislative or Executive.
It is time for States to sever the tit of Federal Financial redistribution or the Feds will force a Civil War for the purpose of usurping power from a free people.
