Late last month Florida Governor Ron DeSantis vetoed a legislative redistricting proposal for the state’s new expanded districts. Florida is gaining a congressional seat as an outcome of the last census and a rapid growth in population.
The concern DeSantis expressed last month was not with the state house or state senate districts, but rather with the new congressional district mapping. {Background} Attorneys for the governor’s office and state saw a conflict between the legislative map and the constitutional provisions for district assignment. The Governor’s office wrote a new map eliminating the gerrymandering which ultimately, based on the 2020 election outcome, would appear to give 20 districts to Republican areas and 8 districts to Democrat areas
Of course, the professional activists within the Democrat apparatus are apoplectic. “If this map is enacted, Florida will be sued.,” tweeted Marc Elias, a Democratic Party elections lawyer. However, the Republican state legislature has indicated their full support in advance of a special session to affirm the new redistricting map.
FLORIDA – A Republican-favorable congressional redistricting plan that Gov. Ron DeSantis’ office released Wednesday landed quick support from the leader of the Senate’s reapportionment efforts.
Democrats, meanwhile, said the once-a-decade redistricting process has gone “extreme partisan” and threatened legal challenges.
State lawmakers will return to Tallahassee next week for a special session after DeSantis vetoed a congressional map passed during this year’s regular session. Senate Reapportionment Chairman Ray Rodrigues, R-Estero, found the plan released Wednesday by the governor’s office more than acceptable.
“After thoroughly reviewing the governor’s submission and a discussion with our legal counsel, I have determined that the governor’s map reflects standards the Senate can support,” Rodrigues wrote in a memo to senators. (read more)
The map appears solid from my perspective and based on sound -easily defensible- districting that represents the people within the state. There are no weird contortions and strange boundaries in an effort to shape the congressional outcome. The population boundaries are pretty straightforward.
I think the apoplexy from the moonbat wing of the Democrat machine is because (a) they know the map will easily pass legal scrutiny, and (b) Democrats are losing support within the state of Florida with each passing day.
The Democrat party nuttery is not going over well with most Floridians. Latinos have abandoned the DNC social agenda in record numbers, and the overlay of the Biden inflation economy is a problem that looms too heavy. The Florida 2022 vote will be a rebuke of Democrats on a scale that will likely be historic.
Ever since Governor DeSantis finally dealt with the Broward County vote manipulation and regional fraud, the Democrats have been losing. Democrats in Florida are a sad and angry bunch, with no one except the deep blue media to console them.
I like fighters .
Especially ones that dont back down.
right now, desantis is my choice for ’24. not just words, actions.
We need him in FL. President Trump first and then DeSantis.
DeSantis appears to be in the process of securing Florida for generations with the legislative actions occurring. I think he will leave it in good hands if he decides to run for president in 24.. Trump is continuing to make several errors in judgement.. well see.
Yeah, we know for sure that Trump can and will deliver on the federal level. I don’t think DeSantis is ready for that yet. He’s clearly the best governor in the country though. For the life of me, I can’t understand why ever GOP governor is not following his lead.
He checks a lot of boxes, limit abortions, redistricting ( Missouri should have consulted with him), and he is a fighter
Yes!
Florida , Pride of USA
a state that is a GOOD “lab of dempcracy”
within our REPUBLIC
“Southern by birth, Floridian by the Grace of G-d.”
Too bad we don’t have a Republic anymore.
When I retire, if ever able to do so (thanks Bribem for destroying our economy and depleteing my retirement portfolio), I am moving there. Gulf coast.
With a name like kommiehater, we will welcome you to the Gulf Coast with open arms.
With all the coal power plants being shutdown this year, where will electric come from? I saw a post where they said all were being made unemployed, and they were informed last year.
Are you on the wrong story?
Elections, electricity – they share a lot of letters…?
Our Natural gas pipelines and Nuke sites are being de regulated as well. Although we could directionally bore underneath the Apalachicola National Forest for oil and gas if push comes to shove although I really dig it up there.
….” The Florida 2022 vote will be a rebuke of Democrats on a scale that will likely be historic.”……
Let’s hope so!!!
HISTORIC!
Digital voting is still in play.
…and Dominion is in several florida counties.
Most FL counties have ES&S machines which are just as bad.
voting must make some difference or the dems wouldn’t fight to gerrymander so hard.
ES&S is in every other County, and it is owned by you-know-who…
Let’s hope that’s the case for the entire country. It will have to be historic to counter all the DNC cheating.
Take away the cheating and democrats start losing.
It’s amazing what happens once corrupt administrators, such as Brenda Snipes, are fired.
And the odious, corrupt SOE in Palm Beach, who also got booted.
indeed “Democrats are losing support within the state of Florida with each passing day” could have had an “and without” inserted and be even truer. biden officially below 40% approval.
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=biden+below+40%25+approval&t=osx&ia=web
The lunatic fringe of Leftards in control of Pinellas and Alachua Counties are overdosing on Xanax and Chardonnay over this! One can only hope of reading about some Demoncrat movers and shakers catching some DUI charges!(With no one hurt of course!)
taking their cue from pelosi?
Naturally. The cocaine, booze and benzo trifecta is the regimen of choice for Demoncrat power players.
Along with the eating of unborn children.
Gainesville is loaded with them. It’s like a giant asylum of dust mite minds.
College and Uni towns. Always a seething swamp of leftist infestation. Breeds that poison uncontrollably.
I’m in Pinellas. Joe Biden “won” the county. And there is NO WAY he won legitimately.
Right on! Fight on! Give’em HELL!
I want us to give them more H than they have ever given us. Fight them like the greatest generation fought for world freedom.
This map will increase Florida’s R current delegation of 16R-11D (+5R)
To likely 2023 result of 20R-8D (+12R)…
Overall +7 seat R advantage!
I wish, nationally, we had someone running an electoral strategy like DeSantis.
Including rooting out fraud.
BTW, Biden hung out to dry today … is the Swamp cutting him loose?
Desantis is NOT “rooting out fraud”. He has refused to address it.
more detail please.
No serialized, watermarked paper ballots, yet. I saw a video from Bitchute earlier this year where Laurel Lee, our State Supervisor of Elections, who took over 200K$ in Zuckerborg Bucks to “insure a free and fair election” in 2020, also gave a closed door presentation to Dominion folks against our Sunshine Law at the most recent SOE conference…
I don’t know where y’all are from, but we have paper ballots in Manatee County, West Central FL. Voter ID’S required as well.
What are they counted on Ma’am??
It ain’t how y’ vote: it’s who counts y’ vote.
Heh. I present my ID. It is scanned and I have to sign the e-pad. A ballot is printed for me and handed to me in a “secrecy folder.” I vote it with a permanent marker fixed to the polling booth. I scan the voted ballot and watch the vote count jump by one. The ballot itself is deposited in a locked box by the machine.
Wakulla County, Florida since forever. I don’t know anything about Lee working with Dominion.
In my district, we present ID, checked against the voter registration roll, manually, paper ballot, pen used to fill in circles next to names, scanned, and deposited in secure receptacle. But I live in Virginia. Last year that scum bag EX governor, Northam, enacted DNC changes to our voting laws used to intimidate districts from changes to districts, using the money collected from penalties over “voter discrimination” (whatever that can be interpreted to mean) to feed the newly-created “Voter Education and Outreach Fund”. I am sure we can all imagine what those bass turds will be doing with that $$. The legislation also requires approval and feedback of any voting changes made at the local level. All so ambiguous and arbitrary. Ill defined language used to pilfer $$ from taxpayers and intimidate the GOP from enacting redistricting. That $$ will be used as yet another DNC slush fund. All so ambiguous and arbitrary. Ill defined language used to pilfer $$ from taxpayers and intimidate the GOP from enacting redistricting.
Yeah, DeSantis hasn’t done nearly as good a job of rooting out fraud as PA, AZ, GA, WI and MI have done. Those are the shining examples. Those investigations into rooting out fraud sure have delivered massive indictments. OK, sarcasm.
If it is an investigation of 2020 you are after, you are correct, he hasn’t gone there. However, he has been working with the legislature to bring much needed change (SB 524). And, like those states mentioned above, it has been a frustrating process. As for his requests for bill inclusion, those do not indicate he is refusing to address fraud going forward. Quite the opposite, he wants authority in place to prevent much of it and to investigate it where suspected.
Is he perfect? Nope. But he’s better than any other governor out there IMHO.
Yes.
Marc Elias better be careful here Instead of declaring “Florida will be sued”, he should be concerned if Michael Sussmann is about to turn State’s evidence for John Durham and against the DNC, Hillary for America, Fusion GPS, and wait for it….the big Mackerel of them all: Perkins Coie.
Marc Elias must be indicted. He is an evil attorney, and a despicable and unethical individual.
So unethical it’s surprising he can still practice law. The judicial community in this country is third-world.
How is that dude walking around without a care in the World, running his smart mouth??
Elias is a left wing scumbag but he wouldn’t be able to be so litigious were it not for radical left wing billionaires like Soros & Bloomberg who fund his legal activity.
Frankly…I’m jealous.
I’m tired of no fight, p-whipped, get along R’s, scared to fight for us in fear of media criticism.
We need a Marc…
Unlike NC’s Republican’s legislature which has confused the red and blue crayons.
No, the NC legislature did it right and created an excellent map. But, like in Ohio, a liberal court disallowed the Republican redistricting plan. Republicans were merely under the illusion that they controlled the process in those states. In reality, Democrat (or RINO) judges control the process everywhere. At least everywhere they need to; Democrat gerrymanders are permitted everywhere they are tried (CA, NY, IL, NJ, PA, MA, OR, NM, MD…).
As fantastic as this Florida map would be, if it gets past the RINO Florida Supreme Court (don’t hold your breath), all it does is offset the screwjob Republicans suffered in New York.
keep up the fury.
Vinnie’s right. Judges screwed the Tar Heel state.
Missouri is not much better, the R majority is giving away seats
I see Elias is, of course, spouting off about this, but I gotta, ask, what’s his former partner, in crime, Sussman have to say?
grand jury testimony is confidential.
IIRC Sundance said there is only one Trump and DeSantis has some different ideas. If I am mistaken, I apologize. But I’d really like to read a story on the contrasts between the two.
In the meantime, hell-yeah DeSantis!
It isn’t rocket science the entire DC bureacracy including the various state departments fear Trump because they have made him enemy number 1. Anyone else even good politicians will assimilate instead of cleaning it out.
did trump “clean it out” last time? he appointed sessions then barr. should have put in ric grenell on a temporary basis and done better. chris wray? rosenstein?
voted for him twice but he expanded nato, put sanctions on russia, backed the covid vaccine unreservedly, still does, barely got one conviction out of crossfire hurricane, left gina haspel at cia, had neocons everywhere. could have done more to get the one state solution going with the understanding he might be a one term president. should have used the bully pulpit more.
and given his expressed feelings on 9-11, he could have done something there. and pence? we need a bit more graveyard bravery, like a governor that will buck nearly an entire nation on the covid madness.
trump actually helps the democrats by bringing them together and motivating them. more by an abrasive personality than by policy accomplishments. this is losing sight of the real deal, imo.
I agree. Grateful for trump exposing the media but he is a great actor and got people(me included at first) backing him no matter what he did/didn’t do. He played the game and didn’t do anything concrete America first. People can justify it all they want and no I could not do any better but we should be honest with ourselves. We need to stick to facts and logic not the feels.
DeSantis was a graduate of Yale with a magna cum laude in history and was on Yale’s baseball team with the best batting average as a senior. After a year teaching, he attended Harvard Law school and graduated Juris Doctor cum laude. He served in the military as a JAG officer at Gitmo and with Seal Team One in Iraq. He was named by the DOJ as an assistant US attorney in Florida. Since 2012, he has been a politician, first as a member of the House of Representatives and then as governor of Florida. Trump came into the presidency as a complete outsider with no military or government service. He was a businessman, a media personality, the son of a successful NY real estate businessman. Both DeSantis and Trump understand the importance of media coverage and both have a common touch, but they have different skill sets and totally different backgrounds.
thanks for the bio.
Never mind that Marc Elias is going to sue DeSantis over the map it’s the lawsuit from Mitch McConnell and the RNC that I’m worried about!
primary the decepticons.
That’s not popcorn popping. It’s democrats’ heads exploding.
Such a happy sound.
One Guv up, 49 to go!
It’s really great to see the two parties yucking it up so well together…
It really helps convince the believers they have a choice… And that consent is key to owning you!
HOW MANY ILLEGALS WOULD YOU NEED TO WIN. 9.5 MILLION
SO WHAT OTHER OPTIONS ARE OPEN?
Trump becomes disqualified to run
Trump is assassinated
Same voting machines are used
DC takes over vote counting
Voting laws are changed in Florida
The constitution is discarded, in favor of a socialist government
A lot of Republican voters die from the COVID-19 vaccine
National Emergency is declared
What else?
Here is a statewide and county-by-county breakdown of how Floridians voted in the 2020 presidential election.
Donald Trump (GOP) 51.2% 5,668,731
Joe Biden (Dem) 47.9% 5,297,045
Other Candidates 0.9% 100,625

Former Clinton Pollster Sends Warning To Biden – Re-Election “Virtual Impossibility” At Such Low Approval
By ProTrumpNews Staff
Published April 14, 2022 at 8:25pm
These are spectacularly low [approval] numbers. To really get down to it, only a third being favorable and in the 20s on independents, of course makes [Biden’s] reelection a virtual impossibility. The administration has got to pivot or this is going to be a tornado of midterms if these numbers continue to hold up. And frankly, they’ve had month after month here to do something to turn around on inflation, on immigration, on Ukraine, on crime. And they just haven’t done it. They have done small little incremental changes. They need big changes to change some big numbers.
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/04/former-clinton-pollster-sends-warning-biden-re-election-virtual-impossibility-low-approval/
In any of those scenarios, I board my buddies deep sea boat and we sail to Panama, and I make my way to Brazil.
I’ll trade y’all Floridians 2 Abbotts for 1 DeSantis.
I hope my fellow Texans realize how incredibly stupid it was to hold our primaries on March 1 of this year.
Bush Light Abbott sucks.
Well lookee here. All the political strategists (frauds, activists) were saying DeSantis went too far and the weak-kneed, piss-in-the-pants republican legislators wouldn’t have the guts to approve his map.
Good for DeSantis having the spine to do the right thing. I think DeSantis puts the fear of God in these FL republican moderates. They know he will replace them if they resist and cave to the left and the media.
The political DNA of the GOP needs to be eliminated from our society somehow. They really have become a loathsome bunch of cowards, liars, and crooks….nearly all of them.
much new blood is needed to reform the republican party as the base desires.
The secret is DeSantis doesn’t live and breath on polls. He just gets up, feeds his kids and goes to work for the State.
How many Governors take their kids to work, or to speeches? He mentioned the other day in a speech, that they like to go to work with Daddy, and it’s important for Father’s to be involved with their children.
Media called his 2 girls “props”, I call it parenting.
Our 2 children grew up in the Family business, and spent their pre-school years at work with Mommy and Daddy.
I realize most do not have jobs where they can accomplish this, thus, I “get” and respect DeSantis.
He does what is right. He’s a native Floridian, and looks at what needs to be corrected, and in due time, will weed out the corruption.
We love our Gov. and our State. Don’t even think of coming down here to “change” things. We don’t live and breath on polls.
We live and breath freedom.
Right. Chelsea Clinton was a prop. Amy Carter was a prop. Sasha and Malia (or whatever their name are) were props – probably rented.
DeSantis and his wife just have a couple of kids like normal American families.
That’s the key, he dealt with Broward county. It only takes a little targeted manipulation to cheat. He dealt with it and we see the results. That is the key to the all of the elections. Deal with that maybe we can change the direction.
After cleaning out Broward, Trump’s 2020 margin of victory in Florida rose roughly five points above his 2016 margin of victory.
Those five points likely reflect 2020 national and state results had voter fraud been marginalized.
Trump 2024. DeSantis 2028-2036. Vivek Ramaswamy 2036-2044! I’m 75 and that pretty much has me covered!
Still considering an eventual escape from behind enemy lines here in Kommiefornia, but I hear Florida is getting pretty crowded. Any FL residents have feedback on this? TY in advance.
Yes it is , bro. Stay away from the Cities, except for Jacksonville. The population centers are much like Southern Commifornia.
You’re late for an escape to Texas…soon to be known as Tejas. California plates everywhere.
I’d look at TN, AL, OK or SC…
Same here in Tampa, FL. Out of staters everywhere.
This country needs 49 more governors, just like him.
Wait till the moonbats come to Califirnicate you.. think it’s not in the cards take a good look at Austin Texas.. the idiot are on parade there..
They are already here. We host Libpukes from all points of the compass.
Nashville is another example
And Houston.
Elections — more importantly non-stolen ones — have consequences.
Marc Elias, who the hell does he think he is? Just Who is this Marc Elias? Is he a good guy? This site has gotta be read by homies. If he’s not helping us resolve problems and come together than have a talk with him. This is where it all starts guys. Those of you who have that kind of power it’s time to wield it. I don’t know much about Marc Elias, he’s probably a great guy. But you folks that have a DLS should make sure he’s behaving. I’m sure he’s fine. He’s probably at Disney now as I write this. What a great dude.
He’s crap.
listen to missy.
The map appears solid from my perspective and based on sound -easily defensible- districting that represents the people within the state. There are no weird contortions and strange boundaries in an effort to shape the congressional outcome. The population boundaries are pretty straightforward.
You think?
Who was the crazy ass ex-Congresswomen from Jacksonville who district ran across I-10 West until they could find enough black voters to keep her elected. It was salamander meet snake.
Finally a return to sanity. Let the batshit crazy democrats challenge.
Corinne Brown, District 5. And then there was Alcee Hastings district. Horrible.
After he died, one of the black women who were running to serve put his term was promising to give every AA $1000 if they elected her. It was in all her ads. Brazen.
Bravo! Finally a Republican in power who fights back against the criminal party…
The worthless so-called journalists in all the major cities have been terribly butt-hurt by DeSantis and his hugely popular press secretary, Ms. Pushaw. Together they have played them like a ping pong ball.
Still to many Democratic leaning districts. The Democrats would never allow that if they were doing the redistricting. It should be two max!
Don’t worry. The Supreme Court with it’s 5-4 liberal majority will shut this down.
Legislature first sent him a redistricting scheme that he, DeSantis, had to reject. DeSantis was up against even so-called conservative Republicans………..AKA the RINO leadership in the legislature
Too bad Republicans don’t have a professional judge-shopper like Elias to go after Democrat maps.
DeSantis can run Florida ( and he does it very well); he can run the USA.
2024-DeSantis…..
I would back him for sure. He probably won’t change anything foreign policy wise like aid but would be great for social issues here at home. I was never a social issues voter but our country has become so degenerate maybe he can stop, hopefully reverse the trend we have been on since the sixties.
And Democrat-Communists (and Pope Francis) will cry!
He’s simply an incredible governor. We’re fortunate to have him and the majority legislature. When you compare this redistricting effort to some of those that have taken place this year in other states, it is encouraging. One bill after the next down here. Education, law enforcement, immigration, voting, Covid, you name it, this guy and our legislature have pretty much nailed them all.
That said, I don’t know what would happen to him in DC if he were elected President. Obviously I would hope to see the same and more on a national level but once in the swamp, it’s hard to say. And that is the reason why, selfishly, I wish he could be our governor for a few decades if he/we so desired. At this point he is a great buffer to much of the madness that is the DC swamp.
USA desperately NEEDS, REQUIRES him for 8Y…it will take 8Y to get this country ‘back’….He’s young & can give 8Y.
The deep state is so deeply (ha) entrenched in the District of Corruption that it is nearly impossible to prevail. It will be extremely difficult for anyone to nearly singlehandedly fight that roiling swamp. But we all know this. If anyone can, it’s probably DiSantis. IF he makes the alphabet agencies and cabinet a sheet of glass. Then rebuilds.
There is a way. With a mandate and control of Congress. Trump could (1) shut down half of the Gov agencies, (2) reduce employee levels in the remaining agencies by 25%, (3) decrease remaining employees’ salaries by 25%, (4) fire all management personnel at the CIA, FBI, and DOJ, and (5) start moving agencies out of DC. How else do we recover the trillions wasted by O’Biden?
And DC goes back to Virginia.
President Trump tried all of that. If you recall, he was constantly ambushed by rinos.
Y’all did see Joey at NCA&T yesterday, ended speech, turns and shakes hands with air and then just rambles off and has no idea where to go, what to do, just MASS/MAJOR Confusion.
And anyone THINK THE WORLD is afraid of the USA when he’s leading the country, the military? HE’S IN CHARGE?
The man can’ t get off a stage….
Perilous times….DEMAND STRONG leadership and DeSantis IS THAT LEADER.
IT WILL TAKE YEARS to get USA back on track; likely 8Y; so place DeSantis there. He’s YOUNG & can give 8Y.
Good Lord what this country looks like in another 2Y…..??? Frightening….
in another 2Y – that is the problem. Look how far it has fallen in only 15 months. What will be left in another 33 months?
Democrats are trying to wipe out Republican districts in blue states so turnabout is fair play in Republican controlled states like Florida. Notice that Broward county almost stole the 2018 gubernatorial election and the Rick Scott Senate race by “finding” tens of thousands of votes the day after the election. This is similar to how hundreds of thousands of mail-in votes, 95-98% for Joe Biden, magically appeared after midnight on election day in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania to put Joe Biden in the lead.
What DeSantis has been doing is unparalleled during my lifetime.
And I’m sure the rest of the country is watching.
What is especially sad is that no one else (or very few) seem to be following in his footsteps.
He’s not just fixing Florida, but showing the way for the rest of the Nation.
So far, no one else seems to have the cajones to follow him. That needs to change.
Love this! Smart man, DiSantis. Finally! Someone, anyone, of the GOP, is fighting fire with fire. DO NOT bow to the empty threats and intimidation of the the criminal thug DNC. In particular, that sleazy Clintonista mob boss, Elias. Shut him, and the DNC criminal thug enterprise, down. B slap them into history. We have got to fight harder and smarter. We can no longer contend with this “good guy”, “rise above”, “take the high road” waspish approach to the DNC. They are vile, destructive, globalist fascist monsters. Bullies of the highest order. Stop letting them take our lunch money every day, and beat up our little sisters and brothers. Turn on them with the fury of your soul, and beat them into history.
This guy gets it done. Mostly what I like about him compared to other politicians . especially Trump, is he doesnt instigate unnecessary drama. He is methodical and thoughtful and uses the lack of media attention to his advantage. I know he is very unlikely to run for President in 2024, but sure wish he would.
How did De Santis deal with the Broward County vote fraud and manipulation? I didn’t see anything on that front…
I’m saying this as someone moving to Broward in the summer (from Canada).
There was no investigation on the voting machines in Florida. I expected De Santis to do that.
Ever since Governor DeSantis finally dealt with the Broward County vote manipulation and regional fraud
I think about this so often. For over two decades it was always some tomfoolery in Florida and specifically Broward. I noticed last go around they were done counting at a decent time. Glad that issue is resolved.
I looked at the current map and this one. What the actual heck on the current map? Long skinny and other not compact districts on the current map. This one, compact districts. Of course the D’s are having a hissy fit – their gerrymanders are going away.
Bring it on elias! Let’s see how far you get. There must be something you could charge elias with and put him in prison, maybe just for being him.
Every Republican candidate should be required to take the Desantis masterclass on how to win.
RINOs also were not fans of this map, not just Dems.
REJECT democRATS by ANY MEANS NECESSARY! They want to ENSLAVE America to their COMMUNIST agenda. That’s what communism, socialism fascism, naziism, islam are all about…enslaving populations. DemocRATS LOVE SLAVERY. They’ve been practicing it for over 200 years. Now, instead of chains, it’s political and economic SLAVERY to control YOU, your FAMILY and CHILDREN. They are using CRT, queers, climate change, wars, FRAUDULENT ELECTIONS, energy and anything else to gain control.
This article makes my day…Thank you Sundance.
