The insufferable claims of “democratic norms” from the European Union are laughable in their construct. While sitting atop their elitist perches preening philosophically about values and democracy, the ruling globalist elites in Brussels are now going to trigger €5 billion in punitive sanctions against Hungary because the citizens overwhelmingly voted for an unapproved European candidate to be their national leader.
Does that sound like a European Union embracing democracy or a democratic outcome from a national election? Of course not, because the European Commission is not based on any bottom-up form of democracy, the EU is a totalitarian assembly of selected and installed corporate elites who abhor democracy in the same way the multinational corporations abhor competition and free markets.
After the globalist elites, World Economic Forum and EU failed in their efforts to influence the election, the reelected Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and the people of Hungary will now be punished for perceived transgressions against the European order.
(Euro News) The European Commission has notified Hungary that it is triggering the conditionality mechanism over rule of law breaches, opening the door to financial sanctions.
“The Commission has today spoken to the Hungarian authorities that we will now send a formal letter to start the conditionality mechanism,” Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen told MEPs on Tuesday afternoon.
Earlier in her address, Von der Leyen had said that the Commission required Budapest to implement reforms to tackle corruption. However, she noted that the two sides have “not been able to find common ground”. […] The announcement comes just two days after Viktor Orban, Hungary’s nationalist-populist leader, won a fourth consecutive term as prime minister. His Fidesz party secured 53% of the vote and a two-thirds “supermajority” in parliament. (read more)
As noted by The Guardian – “On Monday, Putin offered his congratulations to Orbán, who is a long-term Kremlin ally, despite Hungary’s support for EU sanctions against Russia. “Despite the difficult international situation, the further development of a bilateral partnership fully accords to the interests of the peoples of Russia and Hungary,” a Kremlin statement said.
Britain’s Nigel Farage, France’s Marine Le Pen and Italy’s Matteo Salvini were also quick to congratulate Orbán. “When the people vote, the people win,” tweeted Le Pen, the French far-right leader, who is vying to unseat Emmanuel Macron as president in imminent elections. EU leaders were conspicuously silent.” (read more)
The Aftermath…
The CIA who excel in exactly the kind of things Putin has accused them will set things straight in Hungary.
Looks like the EU wants Hungary to “Hexit”.
Ignore the theatrics. Russia has a monopoly on gas supplies to Europe via the Baltic pipelines. The eastern Ukraine and the waters around the Crimea have gas reserves that could break the extortion of that Russian monopoly. The screaming about NATO, missiles, and Nazis is just theater to disguise the power grab. That is all just distraction from the reality. Possibly, the Muscovites expected to be greeted as heroic brothers in Kiev/Kyyv but the heavy military thrust was along the Black Sea coast which gave Russia control of the gas supplies. The focus has always been on extortion.
yes I guess the US wouldn’t mind Russia breaking agreements and putting troops and nukes on Canadian and Mexican borders. The CIA justified in overthrowing the democratically elected government in Ukraine and arming and training them to harass Russia by murdering ethnic Russians in the Donbas .Hey Azov Nazis what’s not to like?
Amazing.
Shocking and amazing.
F the EU. Gallows and guillotines for the lot of them. One can only hope that populist uprisings, caused by the purposeful murders of millions of citizens by the jab and the sanctions against Russia, will lead to a culling of the ruling elite across the continent – and all of their minions as well. A lot to hope for. Of course the same needs to happen on the N. American continent as well.
