The nationwide average for regular gas is now $4.32 a gallon, according to AAA. Just yesterday it was $4.25. In just a few days gasoline has eclipsed the highest price ever recorded by 20¢. The previous record was $4.11 in July 2008. Unfortunately, there is no end in sight. Anecdotally, my neighborhood gas station went up 75¢/gal in just three days and is now $4.95.
Nationally, Diesel prices are also at record highs, with the average cost at $5.06 a gallon, up almost twenty cents overnight from Wednesday to Thursday. This will increase transportation costs for all goods being delivered. The speed of the current rate of increase is very troublesome.

(Current gas price in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA)
USA today has an estimate of gasoline prices by state – SEE HERE
What is the current price near you?
Greetings from Port St Lucie, FL😎
February 24th, gas was $3.41 at 7-Eleven. Two weeks later, to the day, it’s now $4.39
Almost A DOLLAR increase in two weeks. God help us.
Same price change here in Bradenton
Same price in Clermont…
I left there Feb. 16 and it was 3.29
Same price increase in Vero beach FL. Shell on 60 by 95 was $4.59 for mid grade yesterday
4.45 in PA, not far from Lancaster. I think yesterday it was 4.39. That’s for regular.
The same in the ABE area of PA.
Diesel prices are up ~$1.00 in the last week.
Orange County CA – Regular at the very cheapest station I could find is $5.39… most range from $5.69 – $5.89 for regular.
central iowa today i saw one place at 3.64,diesel was over 5.00
The truckers are being targeted deliberately because diesel fuel is upwards of $1.29 a gallon more then regular unleaded fuel and it’s never ever been that much more then regular gasoline.
Jacksonville Florida $4.36 for regular and $5.65 for diesel
Don’t show California prices – it is a foreign country and is not representative of prices in the States.
Not anymore.
Forget… please stop it. You are not being helpful… it’s attitude like yours that has brought San Franciskovich to your state and the Federal Gov…
Don’t you see? You are NOT being cute nor smart.
Dear Tony, I, for one, will take a bit of humor…even “gallows humor” at this point…..
North shore Nassau County on Long Island, last night I filled up and paid $4.399 for regular. Super was $4.959 and diesel over $5.
The higher the gas prices go… the more most people want cheap gas.
D’oh!
Rural Northern California lowest grade/cheapest in area: on 3/08/22 = $5.399; on 2/22/22 = $4.589
Just filled up in San Ramon, CA 6.39 for premium. Over 110.00 to fill the tank. Usually around 65 more or less.
I’m about 100 miles north of Sacramento. (“A world away.”)
Worse than Jimmy Carter. I make a good salary, but I was still bummed that I paid $18 more to fill my tank than a couple weeks ago. That means a locally owned business is going to get a little less business. For some that means not taking the family out to a fast food meal, or not paying the electric bill.
I hope everyone casting their ballots says “I’m not going to let democrats do this ever again.” I have dreams of a conservative veto proof majority in the senate and the house. Is that asking too much?
We need a 2/3 majority in the Senate to convict after the impeachment.
What difference does it make if they’re all RINOs?
$6+ in Sacramento
$5.19
https://www.gasbuddy.com/gasprices/california/florin
Suburb of Seattle: $5.39 today.
They quarantine us w/the Rona, now they are quarantining us w/gas prices. The rich will survive this and not bat an eye, the working class, retired, and poor will not.
This maybe wrong, if enough NOT RICH can’t make it they will EAT the RICH.
Stanislaus County-Modesto, CA
5.01 to 5.05
3.88 yesterday and 4.29 today in East Texas
West Texas last week Saturday $3.07, up to $3.45 next day on Sunday. Today regular gas is $3.69, Premium is $4.45 and Diesel is $4.79. Premium really hurts! We are luckier than some gas price comparables here, however, it still hurts. This is murder of the middle class by design.
Wood. Gas. Cars.
Oh I’m sure the EPA will throw a fit but they did this themselves.
The EPA needs to be vaporized with the 10th amendment
$3.99 in my Twin Cities suburb.
Imagine if we all together stopped participating
Stay home from work, don’t go shopping (make do)
let your car’s sit in the driveway
the worlds largest “sit in”(at home) protest is what NEEDS to happen.
and I don’t think it would take very long to win this war against us.
But I wanna go gold mining.
Deborah:
This war is existential. The corporatists versus middle class America.
The rich, the truly rich do not accept our very right to exist.
Of course they have chosen the commodity on which we truly depend – oil – as the battleground.
It is not just the fanatical environmentalists we are up against. Environmentalism (global warming) is the boutique issue of the rich and the elite all across the western world. Prince Charles, John Kerry, Leo De Caprio etc: these extreme elitists do not accept that the middle class have the fundamental right to live their lives. If this ugly truth eludes anyone they are remarkably blind and deaf.
I continue to be astounded at the people who visit this site and post on this site who will not make even the trivial sacrifice of canceling their cable TV. The giant corporations who own the cable TV channels are your mortal enemies. I mean that literally. As much as possible, boycott the big. Do not drink Coca-Cola. Do not order from Amazon. On and on. It is the big versus the small, and you are small.
The Democrats have found out that they can keep stealing from us with these Multi Trillion dollar bills.
At the end of the day they watch the money…. it flows into their Corporate donors pockets and back to them.
Until this changes they will keep repeating this money launder scam…. because that is exactly what it is.
Cut the cable 14yrs ago and do not miss it.
We do have internet access and used to have Netflix but I canceled that the day they brought obama onboard.
I am a firm believer in voting with the pocketbook.
We also screen all purchases to ensure we are not purchasing goods made in China.
Me too. I do have a Firestick which allows me to watch tons of movies, tv shows and news. Haven’t had cable in years. Do try to find made in America goods which can be difficult.
“these extreme elitists do not accept that the middle class have the fundamental right to live their lives. If this ugly truth eludes anyone they are remarkably blind and deaf.”
Until that sinks in and people finally realize they want to eliminate us nothing will change. People are still commenting about Dems vs Repubs like there’s a difference. Politicians have all sold their souls for money and power. That are controlled. Why do you think they all die in office. Because like the mob once you’re in you can’t get out. That’s the deal they struck.
Yes! to this. Support your local small businesses.
“Of course they have chosen the commodity on which we truly depend – oil – as the battleground.”
Yes! One of the first EOs Biden signed the day of or after he was “inaugurated” was cancelling Keystone and cancelling all drilling on federal lands. With one signature, he erased our energy independence, an independence we had gained for the first time in memory, and put us, once again, at the mercy of foreign countries, none of which has any love lost for us, destroyed countless jobs. So here we are begging OPEC for oil (NO!). Running to Venezuela, who, by socialist policies have all but destroyed their oil production, Iran, (wonder what Iran wants for that deal) and Saudi Arabia, who, it’s been reported it still an oil exporter but, woops, won’t take Joe’s calls.
Nuclear energy…gonna leave it right there.
Solar, wind, I love unicorns!!!
I have a serious question for you and one I have wrestled with: Why the Need to “destroy the middle class?”
Isn’t the middle class what makes the world go ‘round? Electricians, carpenters, car mechanics, HVAC techs, contractors, builders, assembly line workers, grocers, truck drivers, restaurant owners, plumbers, carpenters, police, firefighters, et al?
Their objective is to destroy the US. Nothing more; nothing less. View your opinions through that lens and
ask yourself if sitting at home is a good solution.
Greater New Orleans Area prices:
Budget fuels (Racetrack): Regular $4.29, Ethanol $4.74, Diesel $4.99
Top Tier 1 (Chevron/Texaco) Regular $4.65 93 Octane $4.89 Diesel $5.05
Pilot Truck Stop: Diesel $5.29
Shell Truck Stop: 93 octane $4.79 Diesel $5.15
In five days Diesel went from $3.67 to what it is today!!!
Deep blue state. For regular, three days ago it was $3.80. Two days ago, it was $4.50. Today it is $4.60. Local news parrots national news and blames it all on Russia and Ukraine.
I live in Montana. We are one of the top wheat producing states in the union and the good farmers here work nearly 58 million acres of farmland. We’ve discussed a lot on here about cost and availability of fertilizer for the coming season. But to my knowledge, not mentioned, is all of these huge acreages that are farmed by the power of diesel fuel. It is one of the major input costs to large acre farming. We are talking huge 500 hp tractors for pulling gigantic planters, multiple yearly spray operations, large combines for harvest and fleets of grain trucks for hauling. That’s not to mention the rail lines and hubs for transport.
I can’t even imagine where this is going to send food prices. I am building a greenhouse this spring. Bought all my supplies already and waiting for the snow to melt. It was $7.49 for a 2x4x8 stick of wood and it’s $8 a week later and no end in sight. Glad I have it bought and stored.
Our leadership is so out of touch with the working class. Their actions are completely decoupled from the needs of their citizens and their country. And they don’t even try to hide it, passing their 1.5 trillion omnibus bill and rubbing it in our faces. They are crushing us while their bank accounts are flush. I better stop before I say something I shouldn’t.
Problem is they think they are better then we are. I have news for them they are really low life’s. I wish everyone would stop calling them ELITES. They do not even come close to the meaning of the word elites. I have had experience with some of them and I would disown them if they were in my family.
Mountain View, CA (Bay Area) price today was $5.60 at my favorite station. It was $4.75 last time I filled up a few weeks ago.
Charlotte County Fla., we jumped 20 cents a day for 3-4 days, currently hovering at $4.39.9 yesterday and today.
$6.39 for regular, $6.59 for mid grade, $6.69 for premium in Berserkeley CA.
Ten days ago premium was $5.05.
I’m my town it went from 3.39 to 4.29 in a week.
$4.19 in NE TN.
Someone made an astute point – what’s driving these price hikes isn’t Supply restrictions, but fear (emotion).
This fear includes:
– Ukraine / Russian War
– weak American leadership
– Biden / AOC halting current and new leases (pessimism)
– canceled Keystone pipeline
– the Market responds to uncertainty
Stolen elections by voter fraud have consequences.
Middle Tennessee, south of Clarksville, on last Friday the 4th gas was $4.00/gal and diesel was $5.00. On Wednesday two days ago gas was $4.20/ gal and diesel was $5.50.
About $5.50 a gallon all over San Diego County
Supreme Unleaded is from $6.09 to $6.49 in a Northern CA suburb.
Rose over a $1.00 in 2-4 days?
We here in Australia have an abundance of brown coal, LPG, Natural Gas and crude oil.
But with the exception of “Natural Gas” (no oldfart jokes) most if not all of or petrol and maybe LPG goes to Singapore???
Our brown coal is being phased out but is quickly being bought up bu CCP China and India.
Now did I mention our rich Uranium resource – I have no fricking idea where it goes – but we don’t (to the best of my knowledge) don’t have any Nuclear facilities.
IMO our Government is shafting us left-right-and-centre!
To quote James Carville(modified): “It’s the gas prices, stupid! It’s the only consumer product where prices are publicly posted for everyone to see. If this continues, Dems are burnt toast.
Gas prices in 1968: 28 cents/gal; in 1999: 99 cents/gal; in 2022: 5 dollars/gal.
It’s all Putin’s fault.
I suspect most of you understand I’m being a smartass. We’re in a real pickle. Understand this is not by design. Things have gotten out of hand. Vlad caught them with their pants down. I can’t predict how this ends but I will say all one must do is look how cartoonish our leaders and media have behaved. This is not conducive with something planned.
You’re probably right, Luke. However, I do wonder if the devils behind Biden, the devils who hate America to their evil core and scheme to destroy our republic and to make her people suffer . . . .
Were Biden and Harris and The Adam Family Cabinet installed for the purpose of destroying us and making the U.S. the laughingstock of the world?
Yes, things have gotten out of hand. Chaos could be the plan.
Even terminally stupid voters know that Baghdad Jen is lying when she tries to blame Putin for the price of gasoline.
The Gasbuddy app is currently showing that in Death Valley at Furnace Creek Ranch, California, the lowest elevation in America, regular is $8.75 per gallon and diesel is $9.99. Four days ago, regular was $7.06
Near Tulsa. Gasoline selling for $3.79.
I last filled my tank on 2/20/22 for $3.40 per gallon here in Nashua, NH. The same gas station today, 3/11/22 is selling the same gas for $4.40 per gallon, which is a fairly uniform price locally of regular unleaded.
A Canadian litre is $2.09 near Vancouver. And is about 26% of an American gallon. So the equivalent is about $8.35!
A week ago it was in the $1.70s per litre. Total ripoff considering abundance of natural resources. But politics and green insanity prevail.
Only an insane administration would arbitrarily and by executive edict shut down the energy sector that is the lifeblood of the economy! I always said Biden & Co. was a National Security threat… not only to the American people, but the world as a whole…. now it’s fully apparent with Documented facts. America cannot afford to have these Criminals ruling over us all by Insane Edict.
4.20
So, I see gas prices don’t just affect white males.
Who woulda thunk that? 🤔🙄
$3.99/gal generally in St Louis area. Diesel runs $4.99. Even E85 is $3.54, which is nuts.
I’m a courier, making deliveries using my own car and gas. I used to spend about $350/mo on gas. Now I’m already at $250 in just the first 1/3 of March. Ouch!
I’m in central CT. I paid $4.29 yesterday.
NE Ohio
$4.09 Regular
$5.39 Preium
$5.39 Diesel
Diesel went up .30 cents over night here. (That was Wed night to Thursday)
I expected by Monday, they will all increase another .30 cents.
FJB and the rest of the elitist crook commies.
Sunday I filled up in Hyannis….4.05 if you didnt have a member card… Thursday I traveled from P-town to Yarmouth, and the the price was between 4.39 and 4.45. #FJB
As of yesterday, the price was still $4.39.

East Texas $3.99
Seeing that in Tyler-Longview as well.
Ditto for San Antonio.
(Paid $3.69 on Monday)
I’m currently in the EU. It’s approximately $9.00/gallon here now. And rising. Diesel is only aabout 5 cents cheaper per gallon.
Almost all of the difference in gasoline prices between the USA and Europe is taxes.
Yes, and when cars go electric, those taxes will be charged to your electric bill. Same as in the USA.
People doing electric car math do not factor that in.
Correct! People are ignoring the fact governments never let go of tax revenues, especially ones predicated upon consumption.
This is why they want to tax you per mile…
Well certainly there is tremendous manipulation going on. Gas prices rose overnight, but the gas that is being sold is gas that was bought at the lower price before sanctions, etc. Of course, even without Russia/Ukraine, they were going to raise gas prices so that we would all start living ‘green’. Ugh.
Yes, a lot of those taxes in EU countries go to fund their free medical care systems. At least they get something in return for their high fuel prices.
$1.80/gallon in the Banana Republic of Malaysia. Being a net exporter has its pirks.
