8:56 Texas time. Pretty much a nothing-burger speech until he launches into a gun-control rant. Note: his attack on so-called “ghost=guns” is entirely bogus. The first Amendment has always allowed people to build their own guns from purchased or home built parts. If you don’t want you’re firearm to be traced to you an entirely legal 80 percent lower will do it for you.
Further, his attack on “assault weapons” with “100 round magazines” is equally bogus. The 2nd Amendment is NOT about hunting! The amendment is very plainly written and specifically states that the right to keep and bear arms is specifically intended to allow the free citizenry to defend itself against tyranny. But the 2nd is about power sharing and not about shooting people! This naturally includes AR pattern semi-auto rifles with high-capacity magazines. They are perfect weapons for defending, if necessary, against tyranny as well as home defense and personal defense.
Any law, any policy, that has the effect of limiting a free citizen’s right to defend against tyranny is, by definition, a violation of the US Constitution.
