The Conservatives won the popular vote in the last election with 33.7% of the total vote and Maxime’s party, the PPC received 4.9%. In several ridings both parties split the Conservative leaning vote and several Conservative candidates lost and gave the seat to a Liberal or NDP candidate.
The PPC was not able to elect any candidates at all but former Conservative Cabinet minister Maxime is still the best leader based on his latest positions.
