Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Does muttering include comments on the internet?
murmur, grumble, complain, find fault, bicker, the internet has it all, whatever translation you use.
What Does John 6:43 Mean? “Jesus answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.” (biblestudytools.com)
God’s Word translation (never heard about it before, but that is true for most translations) is a little more direct.

Jesus responded, “Stop criticizing me!

That is so cute it hurts.
If you adopt a cat like that, it will ease some of that pain!

Psalm 37, especially for today because of its powerful entreaty. 🙏💓
I often refer to Watts’ Psalms for a deeper understanding. It is like a commentary in poem. This is part one of Psalm 37 three parts. It is Common Meter so it can be sung to the tune of Amazing Grace.
The cure of envy, fretfulness, and unbelief; or, The rewards of the righteous and the wicked; or, The world’s hatred and the saint’s patience.
PAUSE.
Why should I vex my soul, and fret
To see the wicked rise?
Or envy sinners waxing great
By violence and lies?
As flowery grass, cut down at noon,
Before the ev’ning fades,
So shall their glories vanish soon
In everlasting shades.
Then let me make the Lord my trust,
And practise all that’s good;
So shall I dwell among the just,
And he’ll provide me food.
I to my God my ways commit,
And cheerful wait his will;
Thy hand, which guides my doubtful feet,
Shall my desires fulfil.
Mine innocence shalt thou display,
And make thy judgments known,
Fair as the light of dawning day,
And glorious as the noon.
The meek at last the earth possess,
And are the heirs of heav’n;
True riches, with abundant peace,
To humble souls are giv’n.
Rest in the Lord, and keep his way,
Nor let your anger rise,
Though Providence should long delay
To punish haughty vice.
Let sinners join to break your peace,
And plot, and rage, and foam;
The Lord derides them, for he sees
Their day of vengeance come.
They have drawn out the threat’ning sword,
Have bent the murd’rous bow,
To slay the men that fear the Lord,
And bring the righteous low.
My God shall break their bows, and burn
Their persecuting darts,
Shall their own swords against them turn,
And pain surprise their hearts.
Watts spent much of his life paraphrasing the Psalms in rhyme and meter so they could be sung easily. You can see all of them here: https://ccel.org/ccel/watts/psalmshymns.toc.html

Such a gift, VB. Thank you. How joyous for him to make it so poetic. It needed to be. And thank you for that link. Blessings to you.💓

“Some of us need to stop sitting at tables that Jesus would flip over”
I hasten to add not you dearest Frank. But I bet you agree.
Thinking of the globalists with this…in case you are wondering😉
Trust me. I’m in need of grace… moment by moment!
Good afternoon!
As are we all. You are not alone.
For my friends in the Treehouse!
Hope you’ll be enriched by the lyrics and Scripture as you imagine hanging with Christ. On the cross…
In today’s world, the most significant false god may be self.
For many, as is apparent in all this despotism, VM.
Nothing new about the New Age, same old since the Garden.
Morning, G💓 Starting cold but warming quickly. Are we done-ish with winter in the Lonestar State??🙏
Good afternoon, Bet NM, just got in from church, grilling late lunch, and now have to turn around and take nipper to his parents. His mama will meet me 2/3 of the way there.
‘He impressed his Sunday school teacher with his Australian language skills this morning. Started off with, “Do you know what a nipper is? That’s me!” 😂😂😂

Blast from the past
Jim Croce, 1976, live
“You don’t mess around with Jim”
no equal
You don’t tug on Superman’s cape
You don’t spit into the wind
You don’t pull the mask off the ol Lone Ranger
And you don’t mess around with Jim (in my mind: Trump)
Jim Croce died in a plane crash in 1973.
Thanks.
The clip above was “Jim Croce talks about the way people talked on the streets in South Philadelphia segueing into Jim’s 1st ‘Top 40’ hit song in April of 1972.”…….. the 1976 live date was incorrect.
THANK YOU for taking the time to post that great video!
God Bless America , 🙂
Thank you, jay💓 and gracious good morning.

Mornin’ jay, one of my favorite!
🙂
Got nipper to sing it this morning before church as he was building a house from his plastic straws and connectors constructor. Got him on video building and singing, “I’m working on a building…” you can hear Grandpa in the background singing harmony. 😀
🙌✝️👍🙌✝️👍
Precious ingredients for those mental cocktails later.🤗
And he sang it in the car all the way to church. I had to sing for him the verses, If I was a preacher…, and he sang the refrain.
Back in the day, you had to search out “those” kinds of places to hear “this” kind of music. Middle class white folks believed all sorts of things about the little back-street bars on the “wrongt” side of town. But if you were young and intrepid and more than a little brave you’d find out that there was an inside and outside to the experience. If you wanted to listen to Albert Collins in his element, this is were you went. And if you did you’d discover something pretty unique. Time and again you’d find that the largely black audience was as welcoming as could be. They were perfectly happy to welcome white boys who were there to here truly great blues performances. There was almost a secret handshake about these places. If you were there to respetctfully hear great music you were welcomed—it was as simple as that. Talk about fostering good race-relations! 🙂
You are so right about those nightclubs and blues venues… filled with wonderful people, all there to enjoy some amazing artists playing the most amazing music. I used to frequenct a few of those same types of places in east Oakland, decades ago. Rich memories of the great music, good people and good times.
🙂
Been there, loved that ❤️
🙂
Yes, but there is more. There were people in pain that would find a moment’s respite in music that touched a soul in torment with an understanding lyric carried on a rhythmic flow of music punctuated by discord. A flow much like life. It was a connection borne by a shared pain that transcended the music. There were people that enjoyed the music. There were some that experienced the music. They were at times both at once.
It is a universal language I’ve always believed, speaking as music does to the essence of us all.
🙂
This is as insightful description of the blues as I’ve read in a long, long time. Good on ‘ya for this, Vibe and thanks for posting! 🙂
I live in North Carolina and still, at my age, frequent the North and South Carolina beaches where this music and the Carolina shag dance still reigns. It all started back in the 40’s and we still love it to this day. The black nightclubs started it all. Great music and great memories.
Cut the rug, Lindy!
I wasn’t familiar with Albert Collins until I saw a movie in which this scene occurred….
Renee Fleming performs Vissi D’Arte aria from Tosca. There are so many incredible versions of this with the world’s most amazing sopranos, it was hard to pick one. It came down to Callas or this and I decided to go with this. But as soon as I hit “save” I’ll probably wish I’d posted Callas!
One more, as long as I’m in a Renee Fleming kind of a mood. Here she is singing Marietta’s Song. Translation can be found here: https://www.lieder.net/lieder/get_text.html?TextId=56407
And yes…she is very versatile!
Just listening to the superb mezzo Susan Graham on Sirius XM singing a piece by Chausson.
Her voice is magnificent. She is a renowned international operatic star…from Lubbock, Texas. And a graduate of Texas Tech.
I am going to check her out later! I thought you might post something that would open up the door even more, and so you did!
😊
Just listened. Very beautiful and I see that she and Renee Flemming do a lot of duets together, and enjoyed some of those as well! Thank you so much for the recommendation. Love to expand my Favorites music folder!
Susan was a dear friend of a dear friend of mine, herself with quite a voice. She (Susan) often takes trouser roles as in Richard Strauss masterpiece Der Rosenkavalier. She spent years in Europe perfecting her voice…it was time well spent.
Good morning, Sarah. Tosca is my absolute favourite opera. For emotion, for intensity, for acting abilities as well as powerful voices which are needed…definitely needed.
Renee Fleming has one that just fits the role, I think. She never disappoints when singing tragic heroines… Thinking of Desdemona in Otello. There was something about Callas’s voice, a tragic heroine herself, that I could never warm to. I’m glad for this morning it was Fleming you chose.
And as an aside, in Tosca, my favorite is Baron Scarpia. Menacing, evil, scheming, deserving of his fate. I’m always interested in the bass or bass baritone voice who sings the role. The unholy “Te Deum” sung by Scarpia really is a show piece for the lucky voice which gets to show off a “bit of leg” acting-wise as well. Now in THAT role, like you with Fleming or Callas, I really would have a difficult time choosing a fave.
Scarpia is one scary dude!
He is. The role works best with an imposing presence. The Welsh baritone Sir Bryn Terfel, himself a big man with not the prettiest face, was perfect for it, although he is just one of many perfect Scarpias.
And I am selective in what operas appeal to me. For example, I am not a fan of Mozart’s. Too light with the exception of Don Giovanni. I enjoy the meatier ones , if I can describe them like that. Otello, Rigoleto are just two.
I love that opera, though, in general, I’m not a fan of opera, per say. I often find the drama just too over the top. So I’ve been drawn to arias and other songs that are sung by classically trained singers. Tosca seems to be the exception for me. I can listen to that entire opera over and over again.
Yesterday in our local buy-sell, someone was giving away a Petrof Grand piano…yes, you read that right. Free!! 😲 Apparently these people have moved and have no room for it.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT???????
I know!!! We couldn’t believe it. And your reply was letter for letter the same response we got from out daughter. The mind boggles😲
Hers was beautiful, no question.
Not as well informed about opera as I should be. Didn’t know about her until now. Thanks, Sarah. 🙂
I’m not very knowledgeable about opera, per say. More so, I love the sound of classically trained voices singing certain arias or songs, kind of like how you and others post all kinds of music on this thread that are genres I don’t listen to very much, and may not be drawn to in general, yet there seem to be some musicians, some songs, and some arrangements of those songs that are just amazing! And then, down the rabbit hole I go listening to more of certain singers or groups or others who performed that song, etc…… What a joy!!!
Thank you so much for sharing that! I can’t wait to listen to this along with Betsy’s recommendation later. It’s gonna be bliss, I just know it!
Just listened. Aaahhhhh, so lovely. Thank you so much!
Ridin’ shotgun………
David Ball…..
“Riding with Private Malone”
Cactus, have never heard of David Ball, but, but, but, but, but…………….what a beautiful, tender song! It certainly touches one’s heart. Thank you, ever so much, for taking the time to share!
Yep. Home run, Cactus. The song reminded me of a very similar experience. Only the sign read “Foreign Car 4 Sale” and was nailed to a fence post on a Hill Country back road. It had belonged to a Viet Nam soldier who didn’t make it back. Instead of a Corvette, however, it turned out to be a ’58 Ferrari Tour De France.

Goodaye rah, I’ve read a lot of your civil war history, an old mate of mine done the battlefield tours many yrs ago, as an Aussie Patriot when he returned he always flew a CSA flag next to our southern Cross flag.
Always said that the people he met were the most hospitable one could wish to meet.
A question for you, in your opinion was Lincon freind or foe ?
Cheers.”

I view Lincoln as a great President and a tragic figure. Not as friend or foe. They were all Americans, no matter what side they fought on or represent in history.
During a visit to that battlefield, I was visiting the site on the Rose farm at the battlefield where this photograph and several others of Confederate dead was taken after the battle as Federal soldiers gathered dead and lined them up for burial.
JOHN BANKS’ CIVIL WAR BLOG: Gettysburg Then & Now: 15 Confederate dead on Rose farm (john-banks.blogspot.com)
I noticed a little confederate flag on the ground there. One of those little things on a stick. It was partially burned. Obviously some person had placed the flag there and another had come along and pulled it out of the ground and burned it partially and cast it away.
I replaced the remnants of those little stars and bars where those dead had lain.
I believe that every American should be proud of their heritage so long as it was not really criminal. During the 2nd days battle those men charged across an open field taking flanking fire from their left of grape shot or canister from federal batteries and then running head long towards the positions of the 2nd Delaware who were positioned in the rocks and trees ahead of them. All Americans should be proud of the valor they displayed and morn the fact that such men were lost.
Contemporary accounts from the survivors said that they remembered the slap of the iron balls from the artillery as it hit the stone sides of the Rose Farm barn as they passed by.
They died for a cause they believed in. A vision of what their country should be. And they are the heritage of our country every bit as much as soldiers from any of the other wars.
For me, there is no “Us” or “Them” in our civil war. They were all a part of the same tragedy from which emerged a different country that went on to do great things.
Thanks for the response, I understand your position of country men fighting countrymen.
A terrible situation as I see it.
We came terribly close in the 1860s but very much different in the scence of a civil war, more like a war of independence, the British of coarse.
It is generally excepted by historians now that the British using your War of Independence as a lesson did not use the same tactics for the obvious reason they lost.
So if the matter is taking to a logical conclusion one could quite possibly say that because you fought and won that war it saved us from going to war with the British.
Another point you might find interesting is because of the amount of Americans that came here for the gold rush in the 1850-60s they bought with them your Constitution and the ideas it represents, this can easily be seen if you read both the Australian and American Constitutions. Although is watered down in ways the parralles are still there.
Cheers and Keep on Truckin.
Thanks to you both rah and Mungrel.
And a Bless-ed Sunday morning to three of the absolute best men I know…Mungrel, Frank, and rah. All together in the best place there is.💓🙏
Thanks for that history Mungrel.

Thanks Joe K. Saved it for later.
I read Team of Rivals recently. It was a good read.
Thank you M and rah, very interesting reading for Sunday afternoon.
A great many people in the southern US were of Scots-Irish descent. Jim Webb published an excellent account of their culture in his book, Born Fighting. Reading it, I saw my family in it and, yes, I saw myself. A question that often got asked is how could the Scots-Irish, most of whom were poor farmers who were not slave owners, defend slavery? The answer was and is—they didn’t. They were fighting for their clan, defending their land against invaders. There’s was a tribal war, based on centuries old cultural rules. The Scots-Irish were Europe’s last barbarians . . . transplanted to America.
The reasons why men fought on both sides are many. There was no reason for the common southerner to fight for slavery. They had none and the vast majority did not employment that depended on what the slaves produced.
It was many of the gentry. The Southern gentleman who fought for slavery because they did have them and their plantations and thus their wealth and status depended on them.
The abolitionists came from New England and PA primarily.
Some great clips from the movie Gettysburg that touch on the subject of why they fight.
And what I think is the best is this one:
Niiiiiice. I’ll circle back.
“Rah” and “Mungrel” … don’t make me chase you two all over the threads!

Frank Sinatra launched his own record label, Reprise Records. Although he vowed that he would never sign any Rock artists, the label later became the home of Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, Randy Newman and The Beach Boys.
This is so cute and so funny and so adorable and so sweet and man oh man those dogs are very neat and tidy. Didn’t expect them to be so, well, cat-like in their care. The animals are so beautiful and the captions are really cute! (More than 46 million views in less than 2yrs. Good grief!)
Thanks all you OT mob that sent me wellwishers yesterday, I felt very much humbled.
God bless you all.
Belated Happy Birthday!🎈🎁🎂
You’re welcome, M. Hope your brekkers with your neighbours was delicious and the camaraderie even more so💓 LBT.
You are welcome, son, and blessings to you, too. See my post upthread to Betsy. The nipper impressed his Sunday school teacher with his Australian speak. 😂
well, I missed Caturday so here’s a small duckling
I can’t let my wife see that picture. We have enough birds for now.
Thanks though!
Six noisy ducks just took off from a little body of water quite near which I can’t see but is home to all sorts of water fowl, including geese. Delightful.
My neighbor across the street has his chickens and turkeys out. Still snow on the ground but with some patches open to the ground and they are pecking about in those patches.
He tells me that his chickens lay much better when they give them some play time out into the yard.
He knows his chickens all right, rah. My sister in law has a property in Wales, with stables and horses and all manner of wildlife.
She has a healthy number of different breeds of chickens, all with names of course, that have the run of the place and produce prodigiously. She agrees with your neighbour.
But as hers is a rather large establishment, finding those eggs is like an Easter egg hunt every day. She also has foxes in the area so must see at night that her brood are all securely in the coop. Nothing beats a fresh egg.
For sure. Especially this time of year.
Bird flu found in Indiana…heads up👍
Because of course.
Here’s a video for your wife, Frank … suspenseful
. . . but deliver us from the Evil One.

Good morning, Cat💓.
Good Morning 🙋♀️ Betsy, et al. 😊
I didn’t realize that Right Said Fred was still at it. I thought that they were “Too Sexy” to make another song.
😂 I must confess, I always enjoyed that song. One of my guilty pleasures. Guess it just goes to show you old dogs can learn new tricks.
Good afternoon, FC! 😀
Hi grandpa. IMO, after the joyful packed weekend you had, the coming week might seem boring in comparison. Loved reading your grands master of all things Australian. And look at you talking like an Aussie ❤️

The Black Death Facts for Kids
https://historyforkids.org/the-black-death/
From the article:
Plague is one of the most deadly diseases. It is second only to smallpox. It is a disease that comes from rodents and fleas, but it can also quickly go to people in close contact with each other. Keep reading to learn more Black Death facts.
The 14th century saw the worst plague in human history. The “Great Pestilence” or “Great Plague” was the term used by medieval people to describe it. Contemporary writers referred to it as the “Great Mortality.”
Very interesting.

I had wanted to take my Lady to Red Lobster for an early Valantines treat. When I got home off the road she had changed her mind and didn’t want to go out. Said she would much prefer steak actually. She obviously was not in the mood to cook and there were snow flurries and it was 26 deg. outside and I didn’t feel like grilling.
The Texas Road House is busiest restaurant in this area and has been for some time. The place is less than 4 miles from our home.
I ordered online and went and got carryout. I was there before the order was due to come up so that I could snatch and go and get it home ASAP. The order came up 6 minutes after the stipulated time. It was very good.
Love their Caesar Salads

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

Verse of the Day for Sunday, February 13, 2022
✟
“I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”
John 10:9 (KJV)
existential threat <-from pop culture dictionary
WHAT DOES EXISTENTIAL THREAT MEAN?An existential threat is a threat to something’s very existence—when the continued being of something is at stake or in danger. It is used to describe threats to actual living things as well to nonliving thing things, such as a country or an ideology.
In 2019, the phrase existential threat became increasingly common in consideration of the climate crisis, often discussed as an existential threat to human civilization and the environment as we know them.
Existential threat was also prominent in politics that year, with former Vice President and presidential candidate Joe Biden calling President Donald Trump an existential threat to American values.
I guess Albert Camus fans are out then. Rules me out. I love how he turned being cursed to repeating a futile act was turned into a act of resistance to the god that did the curse in his Myth of Sysiphus
They are projecting again. I’d say there will be a real existential threat if the word going around that the Fourth branch is fixing to release hemorrhagic fevers viruses (think Ebola, Marburg, Lassa) just in time for the upcoming election.
The good news is that in all their plans they never consider that our Sovereign God is in charge.
Mornin’ infidels!
Truckin
The way Josh has been running us guarantee drivers is that on one week we get put on a run that keeps us out all week and the next week we do runs that get us back to the Anderson terminal.
Last week I was out from 14:00 on Sunday until about 04:00 Saturday morning.
It was a Toyota run for the Vandalia, OH terminal.
Sunday I left Anderson with a trailer carrying dunnage that had been brought to the Anderson terminal from Vandalia. At the facility at Janesville, WI I parked behind the building and took my break. I did not have the correct Toyota check sheets so in the morning before backing into the door I called and asked that the correct check sheets for all the stops be sent to the first stop.
In the morning I went around the building and backed into the door and there was unloaded and reloaded at 13:30. And there I stamped the date, trailer number, signature and printed name on all the check sheets. I carry three stamps. One for the trailer number, another for the data, and one custom made with my signature and printed name on it set to fit into the boxes on the forms.
Next were two stops in Walworth, WI. They are the same company and within a block of each other.
Then the final stop is off 81st street in Milwaukee, WI. Going in I am dealing with early rush hour and coming out dealing with late rush hour.
Now going up it is best to take I-39 up to stay away from Chicago since Janesville is far enough west to make it practicable. But coming back the only practical route is down through the Chicago area. So I take I-94 to I-294 to I-80, to I-65 south down to Indy where I catch I-70 east to Vandalia.
The Vandalia terminal is a mess. They were behind before the storm and now are even more behind. There I am to drop the trailer I had brought into any slot between 1 and 30. The first night I found one. The other two nights I had to drop out in the isle because all the slots were full.
Then I bobtail out to park along the curb of the road to take my break.
Three times I did this, delivering and picking up on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Early Saturday morning I dropped at Vandalia and bobtailed to the Anderson terminal and home. I walked in the door at home at about 04:00 Saturday morning.
Don’t know what I am to be doing this week yet. But more than likely I am going to be dealing with some more winter driving the way the forecast looks.
Battlefield generals have nothing on you, rah. I think if you’d been in charge of operations in WWII, it would have been over a lot more quickly.
I have the benefit of knowing the history. They did not. It is easy to arm chair general. But, having been a soldier in the real world, and having led patrols, I know how difficult it is to make the hard decisions at the time and place, not knowing for sure the whole situation, which we looking back have the luxury of knowing.
And even knowing the history I am still at odds with other aficionados on various aspects or points of the the various wars and engagements I have studied and discussed. However very rarely am I forced to change my views because I was studying that stuff long before there was an internet.
As Patton knew his history. There’s no downside to that, especially if your adversary does not. Just looking at what passes for our military brass now. Pitiful…and very dangerous. And terrifying really.
I forget to say ‘thank you for your service’
I tend to take you for granted.
Not just your love of history – but that you live(d) it
Thank you but really it gave back to me, every bit as much as I put into it.

Thank you for bringing their story of bravery and faith to us, Winston. There are so many stories from that era in which men stepped up for their fellows. I knew about the sinking of the Dorcester, but not about these four who made their choice for their brothers. What a terrible terrible time it was. May God bless them eternally.🙏
The appointment of Jewish Chaplains was an issue of hot debate in congress in the early days of the Civil war. But in the end they voted to for such appointments.
I have never understood the animosity. Jesus was a Jew! We Christians and Jews share so many common beliefs. And yet, our history and that of other Christian nations is full of examples Jews being shunned or ostracized. It is a point upon which I am still baffled except to say that IMO the competition for money and wealth are what really lays at the heart of it.
And yet, there are so many liberal Jews who despise what they are themselves. JJ Sefton who does the Morning Report on Ace of Spades HQand is Jewish himself has a lot to say about them…as does Mark Levin.
And like you, I have never understood it either. The most ridiculous smear of Mr Trump is that he is anti-Semitic. When his daughter, son in law, and their children are Jewish? I’d really like to see the question put to those who attempt that sort of labelling in public. There is no answer for that level of disingenuity.
Tough read. Thanks much.

Would someone post an on line medication source that they use? I’ve seen one posted here before (located in India, I believe), visited it, and was impressed by what was available, but I didn’t save the website.
Thanks in advance.
Captain M. – Here is a website I got the link to from a post here a few months ago. Was about to place my order, but did not like the offered forms of payment. They don’t accept charge cards. The company is based in India. It appears legit to me.
Captain M. – Forgot to paste the website, so here it is. https://www.reliablerxpharmacy.com/
If anyone is looking for a Church who truly is standing with Christ I can’t recommend highly enough this one. They helped my family when no one else would and is not ashamed to preach God’s truth.

Thanks for the link. I saved it. Glad you’re connected to a body of believers out there!
My father lives in Vegas.
Sorry to be a little late with this. I hope everyone is having a wonderful and, especially, a blessed Sunday Treepers! 🙂
You know I love you, Garrison.😘
I’ll second that, sis!
🙂
You, too, Betsy. . . 🙂
🤗!!
I’ve been experiencing a dichotomy of life. If anything good happens to me, I look for the train, because I’m standing on the tracks, somehow. I didn’t catch on for a couple months, but it seems pretty clear now. It is almost like how I feel about everything going on today. I am tested everyday, and I still fail. Not all the time. The idea of equal and opposite is a fact of life on so many levels. It can all be boiled down to good versus evil. All of it. God told us this would happen. I just thought that time was still far down the road. If it wasn’t for Jesus, I would be lost on every level. I am going to have to step up my time with The Lord. Know Jesus. Know peace.
Frank commenting above would agree with you, sir. As do we all. We just never know the day of His return.
As never before I’ve felt this is a spiritual war, so obvious is the evil that now shows itself to one and all. And yet there are millions who simply don’t see it, don’t understand it, even as it reaches its depraved hand into every institution on earth.
I’m so glad you are here. We on this thread in particular are the “two or three who are gathered together”. It’s my first stop every day, and in visiting with people who have become such good and indispensable friends, I feel much more at peace by doing so. I hope you’ll make it a habit to do the same. 🙏😊
Agreed sis.
We may be gentlemen, but we can be mushroom cloud layin’ mother bears when the time comes.
🕶
Always be watchful and above all, be prepared!😊
Thank you Betsy. I agree with you completely. I learn a lot from this thread and am much more at peace with all the friends here on this site. The christian fellowship is much needed to help us make it thru each day. VV, I pray that you continue to come here for the fellowship with friends
Dear VV,
Stick around this thread. We’re here for you.
It’s a little gritty. I’m in East Texas. 💪✝️💪
Abundant prayers are needed for Pastor Artur Pawlowski. After his arrest, he, a prisoner of Christ, is now a political prisoner of the Communist country of Canada.
He is being held in solitary, deprived of fresh air, of water, his Bible…and is subjected to multiple strip searches and observation as he uses the bathroom. All this according to his brother, Dawid.
Pastor Pawlowski says he is doing a 3 day Esther fast, and then will do a 21 day Daniel fast.
The link to all of this is at The Liberty Loft.
He truly needs all our prayers. If there was any doubt about Trudeau’s heinous and foul parentage, here is the evidence that confirms his repugnant pedigree, a man who believes in his arrogance that he is all powerful and unassailable.
Lord, please be with Your devoted servant, Artur, in his solitude. Please fill his cell with Your Presence, and with the Presence of Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Soften the hearts of his jailers, so that they may know You and Your abundant mercy and grace which is theirs for the asking. And may the Evil which has him incarcerated be stricken down and know that You, not they, are all powerful. Lord, hear our prayer, we ask in the Name of your Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, our only mediator and advocate. Amen🙏
Sundance and Menagerie, is it possible for you to highlight this good man’s plight? Your readership is powerful, and I doubt there will be many who are aware. Is it time to shine your righteous klieg lights on what the Canadian government is capable of and is in fact doing to those who speak out?
I second that.
He escaped communism, only to find himself right back in a communist country.
Amen.
Amen. ✝️
Amen sis!
Amen!
Test test. Is this thing on? A comment of mine is in purgatory.
Super Bowl Sunday yay! I can’t wait to not watch.
I’m pulling for the saints.

Quip O’Day – Sunday February 13, 2022 – from my ‘unverified’ list 🙂
Q. What do bulletproof vests, fire escapes, windshield wipers, and laser printers all have in common?
A. All were invented by women.
Our Beautiful Trip this Sunday Morning.
Our area is surrounded by low mountains. This morning there was enough fog that all you could see were the snow covered tops glowing in the sun – eerie and beautiful.
God’s creation – all’s right with the world.
I would have tried for a pix, but between the trees and light poles the effect was spoiled.
What a shame.
I looked over my hundreds of mountain pix taken over the years to find anything like this morning – alas, you will have to use your imagination.
Because of fog, mountains appear to float. Even tho snow has melted around the area, mountain tops have lots. Add morning sun for incredible beauty
Hah – and you wonder why we live here ….
I have a vivid one. We lived in a deep Welsh valley. I won’t have to strain at all to imagine.😉💓
🙂
no supprise to me
👍💓
I live in o hollow so deep, the sun rises around noon n sets about 2.

In North Scotland at the height of summer the sun goes down about 11pm, starts rising at 2am.

Dinner tonight.
Sherry defrosted some the chili that she froze from the last batch. Tonight it is chili and cheese dogs and fries. Much better than that Hormel no bean chili which is at least half water.
Niiiiiice.
Boycott the Superbowl. It’s nothing but bread and circuses. Support the Canadian Freedom Truckers.
Personal note. No jab for me; still employed. I’ll never take that so-called vax. If I lose the job later on, so be it.
I have been boycotting the NFL since they condoned taking a knee. I will never go back,
Ditto…don’t miss it.
I’ll “check in” but I’m no longer a fan.
March 1 we’re shooting the tv in the head. 😁
No!!! Try streaming!! ROKU box, then Britbox and Acorn subscriptions Extremely inexpensive and wonderful viewing. Plus quite a few free movie channels
Edit: I don’t charge for advice😉
🙌Good man🙌
Ditto.
I can keep you busy and profitable until it really hits the fan.
Stick around the OT here.
Bless you, Frank💓
Haven’t missed the NFL, no Olympics either, haven’t given a cent to the RNC (will give to Trump and others of my choice, however).
Been boycotting the nfl for at least 5 years.
Latest anti-pope Bergoglio heresy uttered with his forked tongue on 2/2/22:
“Let’s think about those who have denied the faith, who are apostates, who are the persecutors of the Church, who have denied their baptism: Are these also at home? Yes, these too. The blasphemers, all of them. We are brothers. This is the Communion of Saints.”
Our Lady of Good Success, pray for us!
Archbishop Vigano refers to him as you did. Never pope. Evil. Shockingly so.
