The remarkable aspect to this announcement is the openness of DirecTV’s admission.
Following on the heels of the demand from the White House to start blocking content against the interests of the Biden administration, DirecTV the satellite television communication company now part of the AT&T network, has announced their decision to drop the One America News Network (OANN) channel because OAN is perceived to be supportive of Donald Trump.
(Bloomberg) – DirecTV, one of the largest U.S. pay-TV providers, plans to drop One America News Network, dealing a major blow to the conservative channel that’s been criticized for spreading misinformation and had a loyal fan in former President Donald Trump.
The satellite-TV provider has notified OAN’s owner, Herring Networks Inc., that it plans to stop carrying the company’s two channels when their contract expires. Herring Networks also owns AWE, a lifestyle channel that stands for “A Wealth of Entertainment.”
“We informed Herring Networks that, following a routine internal review, we do not plan to enter into a new contract when our current agreement expires,” the company said in an emailed statement to Bloomberg News.
DirecTV’s contract with Herring Networks expires in early April, according to a person familiar with the matter. Herring Networks didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. (read more)
Given the fact that Joe Biden only holds support of somewhere around 30% of the country, this move by AT&T/DirecTV is quite remarkable.
One would think that someone in the corporate boardroom, perhaps someone associated with the best business decision, would give pause to any consideration of kowtowing to the demands of cancel culture.
Alas, it seems that voice was not present, or at least insignificant to the objectives of the corporate decisionmakers.
Any corporation making politics the central point of their business intent is automatically reducing the potential audience by half. There must be a strongly declining business model for the satellite broadcasting industry as a whole in order to make such a decision.
Perhaps the subscription-based entertainment and news alternatives have eroded the baseline for the TV business. I genuinely do not know. However, on its face, this type of a corporate decision seems like financial suicide.
Even DirecTV customers who may not watch OAN, yet retain some reasonable disposition to see a slippery slope as it becomes evident, are likely to view this decision negatively.
Regardless of the internal or background conversation, one thing is certain, DirecTV will lose more customers than it will gain. That is just a predictable outcome whenever you make political affiliation a litmus for a product.
“Go Woke – Get Broke” gains yet another victim.

Switch providers. Send DTV a f you.
To be honest it was the only reason I really kept DirecTV now that most sports are woke garbage.
Subscribe to KlowdTV and stream OAN channels.
There are very few providers that offer OANN. That’s always been a problem for at least a dozen years.
OANN is a small, independent news provider with some opinion programs. When we had Verizon, we could get it.
Had to switch to Spectrum for financial reasons/business/phone coverage, and no longer get Newsmax or OANN.
Sad to see that in the “Land of the Free and the Brave” we are so censored by ignorants.
Add Roku and you will be able to receive both at no charge.
Thank you!!!!🥴 I forgot about that. We’re old and don’t know about everything available. Looking into it now.
Mamadog, we are in our mid 60’s..The Roku set up was easy..ATT/Direct told me I couldn’t stream live but I did it!!! It takes a bit of patience..set up your acct on your computer..then do the tv set up..avoid distractions and always remember your passwords!!!! The best part is that I can move the streamed tv to any room I want as it’s not tethered to a cable box. Can’t wait to try the new live tv channel..
How do we get OANN on Roku? We haven’t been able to find it.
No. Roku doesn’t carry OANN for free. There is a monthly subscription charge of about $6.00.
OANN needs to change their business model and go the way of NewMax and Real News America. Stream live for free.
I won’t pay a subscription service to watch commercials.
A pittance compared to what my cable bill used to be (I subscribe via Roku). I also subscribe to Epoch Times.
Free would be nice, but then being 100% advertising-dependent also opens them up to pressure to conform.
FWIW, I’m looking at subscribing to “our” (honest) news as but one way of fighting-back.
Some in the Christian community have been advocating building a parallel economy to help provide refuge from the Progressive / Satanic leaning (a/k/a “woke” major corporations. Subscribing to OAN and other good providers is a good start.
We have century link wifi/internet at our Ocala FL home..choices were limited..I went with ATT/Direct for one cable line..I just happened to buy ROKU TV’s so I set up an account and I stream ROKU and Direct/TV live tv..I heard ROKU was adding a live TV streaming channel..We run airbnbs so I have 2 Verizon accts, 2 comcast accts, Century Link/Direct accts and Laurel Highlands Cable..planning on scaling them all back and streaming.
FUBO broadcasts OANN… you can cut the cord completely and get all of your TV through them
FUBO is a very good service for $65.
Interesting as they don’t list OANN as one of their channels.
That’s not “cutting the chord” . You still paying fees to a service provider to watch programming with commercials.
We use Hulu as provider and Roku to access Newsmax and OANN. RightSide Broadcasting is another non-bias News Video Source IMO!
I have spectrum and get both Newsmax and OANN
Don’t get OAN? Visit KlowdTV and stream OAN and many other TV channels LIVE on your desktop or mobile device without a contract, offering flexibility and affordability.
You can find One America News Network on the national providers:
KlowdTV at http://www.KlowdTV.com
CenturyLink PRISM – 208 (SD) and 1208 (HD)
GCI – 64 (SD) and 703 (HD)
Verizon FiOS – 116 (SD) and 616 (HD)
Vidgo at http://www.Vidgo.com
You can also find OAN in your area on these local providers:

Better yet Treepers simply go to http://www.watchnewslive.tv It’s free
Typo error……
Perfect opportunity for the Trump Media Acquisition Group to pick up OAN and propel them to the forefront of national news.
Trump’s media needs ADVERTISING. Have you ever watched M5M? Who are the big advertisers?
If you answered Pharma…give yourself a cigar.
Good recommends Mark Gosset. I would add American Thinker to the list too.
There are always good reads on Thinker but the ADL complained GAB was anti-Semitic and Thinker took away the GAB hot button. We must also be aware that Soros pays trolls to go on free speech sites to post the most gawd awful stuff just so it can be used as an excuse to cancel.
It is the alinsky way…
AT caved to Dominion Voting Systems who threatened them with a lawsuit. AT took down their comment section. I don’t support Opnion sites that don’t let their readers give feedback/comments.
Same here. I stopped giving traffic to sites that disabled their comment section.
OAN is on my Favorite list with DISH
I would switch to DISH but looking at the channel line up, I don’t see OAN. How are you getting it?
>One would think that someone in the corporate boardroom, perhaps someone associated with the best business decision, would give pause to any consideration of kowtowing to the demands of cancel culture.<
That is logical, in a functional environment. But we are ruled secretly by the administrators.
Under the administrative state, that board member has been threatened with subsequent legal issues, a la Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, when she couldn’t pry the laptop from the D.C. police chief: “…there might be an investigation of racism in your department…”. Now, luckily Deb didn’t succeed, but that is the go-to gambit. How many positions have been given to minorities (13% of the population, but in every commercial) after a backroom threat, “…or there will be protesters at your front door tomorrow, and news crews reporting how cruel and racist you are…” Viola!
Yep.
I cut the cable 10 years ago. There is always a way to watch what you want including sports. There are plenty of streams out there.
ustv247.tv is one.
OAN is currently still on Pluto which is available on your firestick if you stream your TV. As for DirecTV, satellite sucks anyways. No reason to have it unless it’s the only thing available in your area.
OANN News Live is not free on Pluto TV.
Advocate for channel choice…We need channel choice…If a “cable” company can take away programs from you, you should be able to pick the channels you want. Let the buyer decided witch companies live or die…why should we subsidize channels we never watch.. When you buy a news paper or a magazine at the stand or online.. its your choice to do so..and the money that pays for that magazine or paper is not divided to other companies that also sell magazines.
This has to stop. Its time to put these bad actors out of business… they can broadcast what ever they want and are guaranteed a check every month being part of a package….
WE NEED CHANNEL CHOICE… and for those that say cut the cable…Sorry i want to watch them die 1st via the free market
Problem is, we can advocate ’till the proverbial “cows come home”, but advocate to whom?
GOP and GOPe are MIA.
No one cares about the American Taxpayers. Only the illegals and their next Soros paycheck.
Again, there are no interested warm bodies to advocate our anger to. DC is permanently out to lunch, (or sunning themselves, maskless in FL). Can’t have a mask tan line🤣
Good! The lines are being or have been drawn. Pick your losing space. I cut all cable, etc years ago because of this. No more sports either. I do go catch a Wild game at the local tavern, but otherwise nothing. Too busy practicing shooting sports.
This is actually funny in a way.
Direct & Dish have lost so many thousands upon thousands of customers in the last decade due to cost, that its not even funny.
Fewer and fewer people are using over rated & over priced cable & satellite TV. Now they will most like have even thousands more people cutting the cord due to their new policy.
Most like me are streaming their TV using various devices.
I use a Roku TV with an antenna for my TV watching. Antenna gets all the local stations. For around $30 a month i have a much wider variety of TV watching then I would ever have for the approximate $100 or more that Dish, Direct or any of the cable companies charge.
Roku + a Tablo and an antenna in the attic are working very well for us. 🙂
I suggest that we cancel DirecTV, Dish and ATT. We should also consider cancelling Verizon.
Verizon’s FIOS high speed internet service is good. When I had my computer hard-wired (physical cable instead of wireless) to it, the speed was awesome! I look forward to returning to that setup.
Yes Verizon FIOS is the best high speed internet..I’m planning on cutting the cord on two of three tv’s and setting up with roku..
I wonder if I just disconnected, like I used to be, if I would be happier? I know I sound pollly-anna but as I look back to when I just focused on the Word of God and lived my life, I didn’t have the obsession to see what is going on. I’m just so sick of the lies and being connected to the world.
Maybe that is what the Lord wants all of His children to do. “When you see all these things begin to happen, look up, lift your head, for your redemption draweth nigh.”. Pay enough attention to the world to know what is going on, but put the main focus on our Father’s business.
Thanks Val! I think I will loosen my grip on this fading world and open my eyes to Him more and more! God Bless You and keep you and make His face to shine on you and give you peace!
Only reason the DTV ‘cancel’ move makes sense to me is that DTV and Dish are again looking to merge. Always blocked in the past but given the declining business model of satellite TV, both companies need the efficiencies/cost savings a merger will provide. So basically DTV is ‘sucking up’ to the administration.
just as a side note. DirectTV’s satellite service is garbage.
Only when it rains. Or snows. Or the wind blows.
I put a direct TV dish (from a former occupant) on the curb and nobody would take it… Lol
Cancel all cable or satellite packages. If you have it you are funding the enemy and you are being ripped off.
Direct TV didn’t make this decision because of Beijing Biden’s call for censorship this week.
Direct TV and the other corporate scum on Wall Street want the extra censorship and Beijing Joe is just the “cover” aka mouthpiece for it.
When I worked part time in my dad’s shop the first thing he told me was never to discuss politics or religion with customers. I asked why. He said because I will one customers. Despite not jsve s forms did Srinagar he wax wiser than the buffoons running companies today.
Mixing politics with your model model is the stupidest decision you can make especially to please one with a 33 percent approval rating.
Great reason to drop DirectTV. Time for everyone to unplug from cable &/or dish.
People are always pushing internet streaming, I live in the country and have tried every possible internet provider for my area they all suck!!! Took me two hours to listen to a 19 minute video. I have tried everything that’s available and I get sick of all the do streaming crap! 😂😂😂😂
Sometimes you can get some channels with an antenna, local channels that show old TV, like “Gunsmoke”, and “Leave it to Beaver”, or reruns of the multiple versions of CSI, Law and Order… But, really, you’re not missing anything.
No AT&T or DirecTV for me! The other corparates are just as bad, so our choices are narrowing . . .
I was watching a movie last night where they said only dictators have state run TV. I looked at my wife and said, “Wow, imagine that.” We have a media that cancelled and censored our president. These are the people that tell us they are “protecting democracy from dictators like Trump.” The Orwellian double-speak is never ending.
“plans to drop One America News Network, dealing a major blow to the conservative channel”
Me thinks it’s the other way around and it’s a major blow to the DirecTV Network ~ watch the cancellations ensue
Let’s see how fast it changes its mind once people start unsubscribing to DirecTV. We have the power of the purse, and we are learning to us it.
I have direct tv. If I can find a good alternative, I’ll drop them?
Philo ($25 per month for most channels except news/sports/locals) and then stream USTVGO.TV for additional 90+ channels including news/sports/locals for free although a few channels may require Nordvpn to access. You can stream USTVGO.TV directly from your smart tv internet browser app, if you don’t have a smart tv get a fire stick (I don’t think Roku has a internet browser app) and download the internet browser app to stream from your tv. Another option is stream it on your pc and plug an hdmi cable between pc and tv hdmi ports.
Revolver News
I had DirecTV for awhile. It was the only alternative to a 24k modem in my area. Lost the connection every time a cloud floated by. Dropped it when FIOS became available. I am now considering switching from at&t. Not just because of this but helps tilt the balance.
This is kind of a negative comment, but I would expect a False Flag soon, which will be a cyber attack of some kind that will ultimately take down the remaining Websites that are providing truth, debate, and inquiry for the public. Amazingly, it will be the sites the Cabal hates the most but Amazon et al will remain intact. It will be in conjunction with the Cabal’s long time plans in Ukraine and Syria.
This year and the next several are going to be really hard and critical.
They’ve neutered the country so badly over the last few decades it’s hard to see how anyone can defend against this stuff, but Humans have a lot of resiliency and should remain ever hopeful for their lives and their families.
*DirecTV (whose lineage includes being owned at one point by Rupert Murdoch) is now 30 per cent owned by San Francisco based TPG, the same private equity group that owns Creative Artist’s Agency, who has in their employ Ari Emanuel, brother of Rahm.*
It was spun off by AT&T last year at a HUGE loss. AT&T still has a 70 per cent stake.
That being said, what an incredibly ignorant decision…DirecTV is still the provider of choice for most of rural America.
But, being that it is now owned by a Bay Area private equity group, I doubt that they care about the bottom line. Or, more precisely, the bottom line to them is to squash dissenting opinions because they can’t make a compelling argument for their policies.
From my research, it appears that TPG is a typical corporate raider that buys companies, sells off their patents and brands, and runs the company into the ground. They also partner with ChiCom banks to produce (finance) Hollywood movies.
I’m subscriber and I called them today to express my displeasure, not that it makes any difference.
(866)595-1331 usually gets US-based support FYI at DirecTV.
If you are upset about a three-letter TV network or cable news network, remember that if you have cable or satellite TV you are directly (not passively) supporting them through user fees, typically Over The Air networks and affiliates receive a fee that’s called “retransmission consent.” I have firsthand knowledge that many local television stations would be off of the air if not for this fee. Oftentimes contract negotiations between content providers (the networks) and distributors (cable or sat) last until the beginning of football season, at which point both parties hold the customer hostage for higher fees. If you want to stop supporting either, the only thing you can do is cancel cable.
Thank you for the information.
The plus side for some of us in rural areas is Biden’s oppressive regime and the oppression experienced in blue states is making those that can seek red areas.
It is nice to breath free or at least freer.
With the added populace the internet situation is becoming more competitive. Competition is always a good thing.
OAN has been stalwart – and alone amongst the more traditional “cable news” outlets – in reporting on the election steal / coup, the audit efforts and the so-called vaccines. Fox News and NewsMax have both shown themselves to be aligned with the evildoers (i.e., refusing to cover the stolen election, and in Fox’s case, likely being a participant in the planning and execution).
SUPPORT OAN by subscribing to it via a subscription (I do via Roku, and I assume it’s also available on the similar devices). It’s only about $5 a month.
IT IS ESSENTIAL that we support honest news organizations (such as OAN and Epoch Times).
Last year I cut the cord (ATT U-Verse). When I called to cancel I told them “on the recorded line for quality assurance purposes” that it was because I used to keep cable for Fox News and Lou Dobbs on Fox Business. But that since Fox aided the stolen election, I no longer wanted to support it, much less continuing to subsidize CNN, MSNBC, ESPN, etc.
Tellingly, the person taking the call whispered that they agreed with me.
If you’re on DirectTV, please consider making a similar call. Now!
Huh. My Directv service is cancelling, turning off Sunday, cost and lack of content the primary reasons. Hopefully OAN is going to be found on my Roku.
OAN does have a channel on Roku – I know, because that’s how I watch it. It is a subscription, about $5 a month, but I see that as a small price to pay for supporting one of the precious few “good guys” in “journalism.”
Piece of advice for DirectTV, when you hitch your wagon to a dead horse, you never make it to town.
yahoo email is owned by AT&T and they already censor email. I had to switch anything political, conservative, patriotic to another account. I wonder if it will get worse.
FWIW, I use Hushmail or Startmail. (They’re not free, but at least independent of Silicon Valley and its surveillance capitalism / censorship business model.)
I’ve heard good things about Proton Mail too.
I’ve long thought of switching emails, I have gmail, yahoo, and whatever the Apple mail is. Problem is that I’ve had them for over fifteen years. I’m not the most organized person but I can find a receipt from 2008 on yahoo mail.
I do tire of the surveillance however.
For archival reasons I haven’t made the switch.
Then again, CTH had to move everything, including the comments.
Maybe I’m just lazy.
I understand. I have a legacy Gmail account that I know longer use; some old email lists I subscribed to still come in, but I send nothing personal out on it, and my contacts now all use my non-Silicon Valley email addresses.
Maybe you can do the same – just keep your old ones as a kind of archive, and for personal stuff start on something new.
Great idea thanks
My email is old and I’ve been toying with changing to a Reagan email account. With the money I’ll be saving from cutting DirectTV, I figure I’ll switch over.
What I don’t think these finger-wagging church ladies understand is that every day, Democrats are rapidly losing their grip on the levers of power. Bottom line, it’s not going to last. It’s pretty likely you’ll be getting back what you so pompously dish out to anyone who disagrees with your infantile view of the world. You can expect shunning, accusations, investigations, civil litigation, prosecutions, censoring and more once you’re no longer large and in charge. Hubris begets nemesis.
Be careful what you wish for, morons. You’re probably going to get it.
Another salvo in the ongoing WWIII. Start streaming while you can, if you haven’t already. The enemy will eventually have to resort to at least a partial internet shutdown, which hopefully backfires.
time for conservatives to stand up and if you have directtv CANCELL them immediately and show these d-rat corp. that we will not stand for this b.s. and we will not give them our hard earn cash.
To be very honest, the little attention I paid to OANN gave me the impression they were just another shilling outlet for neochristian progressives. RINO propaganda is RINO propaganda.
The world doesn’t need another Fox News.
ATT will piss of the party loyalist in fly over country because that’s the sat market. But it’s a pretty safe market because rural subscribers are a trapped audience. They have very few options. I know I’m one of them.
Looks like I will soon be looking for a new TV provider. I sure am getting tired of all this stupidity in corporate boardrooms.
I subscribe to OAN via Roku box for $4.99 month.
Direct tv is a giant black eye to at&t as they placed a small fortune into direct TV and it has been nothing but a giant failure – it has been hemorrhaging for close to 2 plus years – direct TV that is!!
Bet you at&t looks to get rid of this giant expensive neck albatross!!
Cut the cord folks! I did, and am saving $3800 a year! Verizon and T-Mobile both have home internet gateways, in 4G and 5G, and they both work fantastically. Trust me on that, as I have both units. I can stream, surf, have a VOIP landline, etc. For all of those channels, look for the SuperBox S3 Pro @$285. Yes, there is a cost, but you will never pay for all of those channels ever again, at least as long as the box is operating. If you do not want a SuperBox and well over 1300 channels, all free, then a Roku is great. Sign up for SlingTV, it will give you pretty much everything Xfinity and or DTV will give you for $50 or less a month, and you own the box. Seriously look into the Verizon and T-Mobile Home Gateway units, you can google and see if they are available at your address. Hope this helps.

The globalist Left has become petrified! They are finished.
Remember, the Soviet Communists and the Communist governments of the Soviet vassal states such as Poland, East Germany, Hungary and Czechoslovakia have been defeated without the internet or access to anti-government TV channels.
The globalists must feel it – we are coming for them!
I want to thank all of you cable cutters for guiding those of us new to cutting the cable. It was hugely informative. It made investigating and having a plan of attack, so to speak, much easier.
I’ve got Roku on the way as well as ancillary equipment.
DirectTV/ATT will be replaced soon and I look forward to the savings.
Cancel Direct TV. Buy a Roku, all kinds of conservative networks on Roku which includes Pluto TV for free and has OAN and NewsMax. Cheaper too. That’s what I did with cable. Tried of being ripped off and having to watch Liberal news.
Well, time to cancel them.
1-800-531-5000
So, time to figure out the options…. for one thing, we will not be paying for ESPN, CNN and MSNBC.
I will miss HGTV though.
Being in SoCal, a simple antenna will grab Channel 31 and all the tatas on 34 and 52. Plus the High Speed Pursuits and all the Cop/Fire/Hospital shows my wife watches on 2/4/7/11.
Now, the question is going to be:
(1) Grabbing OAN. My TVs are internet ready… or do I need some kind of a FOB?
(2) Getting a PVR. We’re using to watching it that way and Direct TV is very useful, but if this how they are going to do it..
F%%k them. My money.
Epoch Times is an outstanding news outlet that seems to keep their opinions at bay. They report things, however, that the MSM avoid.
Ditched Direct TV about 6 months ago. Even the kid’s shows had transgender propaganda in the commercials, you couldn’t getaway from it. Nothing much worth watching, and relentless gaslighting and psyops. News censored, blacked out. I have missed OAN, Roadkill garage, and Meateater, though.
