Friends, this stuff baffles me on many levels. All around the nation various local media outlets are reporting on this massive influx of people getting tested, or trying to get tested, for COVID-19. Miles and miles of people suddenly lining up for COVID tests everywhere, it’s weird.
The media is pushing the testing aspect hard right now and hitting the Biden administration for not having a federal system in place to facilitate this massive influx of people needing COVID tests. Without a doubt, that narrative is why Biden told the media today the states have to solve the issue on their own. [More on that later]
In the interim, I asked the question on the Twitter about why people would be lining up for hours to get a COVID test now. What’s the reason? Most of the responses are generally of the same mindset as the original question with people also wondering why. I can identify only a few generally valid reasons, and even then, something still doesn’t make sense.
♦ Some people are required to take a test for work, and with the mandates now beginning to kick in, that seems to make sense. However, does this mean people have to stand in line for hours before every shift? [feel free to chime in on this one]
♦ Some people are required to take a test to travel to a destination that requires a negative test. Again, that seems to make sense, I guess. However, it still seems silly from the perspective of testing is unlikely to stop any infection that can happen at any given moment.
Other than ‘being required’ to take a test for the two reasons above, why would anyone take one?
Why would perfectly healthy people, asymptomatic people, line up to take a COVID test? Is this a reflection of mass delusion as a result of government and media driven fear?
Seriously, what gives?

“Well, I’m heading out of town to Kentucky to visit some family, and I hear omicron has really picked up and is spreading pretty fast,” Orange County resident Dave Roseford said. “So I wanted to go ahead and make sure I had the best guard against that.” (link)
So ‘Dave’ is not sick, doesn’t feel sick, is going to visit people 500 miles away, and wants to find out if he’s COVID positive? Because why?…
Then there’s this response, which is even more nuts, but I appreciate the brutal honesty:
“I can answer this because I live in the Lib Death Star known as Brownstone Brooklyn. They are doing this to tell friends and family whether they are ‘safe’ to be around. It’s an elaborate handshake among the Covidians.” (link)
The White House previously attempted to gain some political advantage with the COVID Omicron panic by declaring “a winter of death” awaits the unvaccinated. It appears to me this administration is now going to reap a massive amount of backlash over a panic they created. Once again proving the axiom that every statement, policy or recommendation, that Joe Biden advocates is the exact opposite of what should be done.
The White House has ordered 500 million test kits for them to distribute saying, “In cases where infected people show symptoms or not, testing is the only way to find out if they have the virus so they can avoid being out and about and potentially spreading the disease.” This would imply the only reason to test is to find out if you are infected, yet if you are asymptomatic (not showing symptoms) then why test?
Could it be the hysteria cannot remain in place if there isn’t a new layer of fear of some sort? As Jordan Schachtel notes: ” COVID cases are the engine of COVID Mania. Take away the testing, and the “crisis” disappears. See: every single nation in the world that doesn’t test widely for COVID. They’re doing just fine with the “plague” issue.”

It’s also forcing people who are unjabbed to be revealed as so. When I decline a certain invitation that I had previously accepted for New Year’s, lots of people will know.

I’ve learned things I did not want to know from many very long term “friends”. But … I found it very easy to find unvaxxed women (I’m sure the same is true for men) to start a group of existing and new friends who are excited to get together at each other’s homes, speak freely affirm and support one another. The demand for this must be great everywhere. I highly recommend it as a community service and to give yourself someone to confirm you have not lost your mind when you start to feel doubt.
I started with one friend, met someone at an anti-mandate rally, chatted with two husbands of acquaintances at the grocery store chat for awhile who said “you should really talk with my wife”, and before you know it, we had a dozen women who just want to hang out with like-minded others again. Because we had 2 certified NRA instructors in the group, we seem to be morphing into a women’s shooting club, but groups could be organized around any activity, or just meet ups for lunch or drinks. In spite of huge church buy in to the vax game, you may find or start an unvaxxed Bible Study. Whatever it is, I highly recommend adding a group of real humans to this wonderful online community. There may come a time in the near future when we need more than online moral support.
Oh, I have that too – we have a small crew – meet frequently at a local restaurant which has always had a masks-optional notice no matter what its town did.
3 of us are unjabbed, now 2 with nat immunity, one jabbed but that’s her biz and none of us care! We’re all America Firsters…

I live in Evanston (very, very liberal) north of Chicago. Driving home from church yesterday, I saw a line of cars with masked solo drivers at the rapid test site that a friend later told me took an hour and a half to get through. He was there because his daughter in law won’t let him in the house to see his grandchildren without a negative test.
After passing the Covid test site, I drove past the giant Cannabis emporium where the parking lot was packed and there was a line of masked people snaking out the door and down the sidewalk—10 am on a Sunday morning. This is Evanston.
My personal experience-
One panic stricken family member can cause a dozen or more tests for a holiday gathering.
One panicked coworker can cause dozens of tests in order to keep his pregnant wife safe.

I truly don’t get this…. If you have no symptoms why on earth would you go get tested for it? Do you go in and get tested for the flu when you feel fine? No! I had symptoms 3 weeks ago, went in and got a test which was positive… So then I went to the CDC website to see what their protocol was before I could supposedly get back on with my life… And they say 10 days following the onset of symptoms, and not to rely on a negative test since you could put potentially test positive for the next 30 to 45 days… huh? So how can these employers require a negative test, when you’re not infectious and still possibly testing positive with a PCR test… According to the CDC’s own guidelines. I never knew so many of my neighbors were such worry worts. I think we are shell shocked in NY by the constant actions of our governors, local leaders and health administrators. I live half way between Dallas and OKC, in OK. I was out and about today – in OKC and back to home base and saw nothing extraordinary. People working at the bank were wearing masks, but I don’t think that is unusual. Stopped for gasoline and no masks there except for the attendant working inside. All seems normal here and I’ve heard nothing about a run on testing.
Could it be they’ve heard the PCR tests are going to be done away with and they want to get one before it’s gone (just joking but it makes as much sense as any of the other reasons do)

I’ve been told I have to have covid test to get a cortisone shot on Jan. 3. A new requirement beyond having my temperature taken at the door, filling out a one-page questionnaire that I haven’t been anywhere, done anything, haven’t met anybody…since a week ago when I saw them last…and wearing a mask. If I tell you I’m not sick, and I’m not running a temperature and I haven’t been anywhere…a covid test will do what? Oh, our NM Governor is keeping me safe?

This past spring, I was making phone calls for my favorite organization to say thank you to people who had recently signed our petition. This often leads to interesting conversations.
One man I talked to owned a medical testing company and was processing COVID tests. I had recently heard that the cycle count for PCR tests was higher than they were supposed to be and he confirmed this was so. Then he told me that he had invested a good deal of money into trying to get a contract with the state of MN to conduct tests for them, but was denied because his positive result rate was too low.
Wait, whu? Not enough positive test results?
That was when I truly knew we were being played, and they’re trying to play us again.

I ask the guy stocking shelves where they were and he said they received 100 in this morning and they were gone within an hour. Looked around online and every place in town is sold out. Could be people hoarding them like they did toilet paper.

I had taken a home antigen test. A PCR was required.
That’s another thing that makes me laugh, because the antigen test was clearly the more accurate of the two. Also I suspect the triage nurse I spoke to was savvy – and she knew what was what when I described the loss of taste/smell that morning.
She said something I will never forget.
She asked me if I’d been vaccinated and I said, no.
Then she looked hard at me and said, “Don’t worry. We do NOT discriminate on care here.”

I recently had a close relative tell me that he’s “safe” to be around because he’s vaxxed AND boosted, as if he hasn’t a clue that he is as likely as anyone (maybe even more likely) to be spreading COVID.
Living in SC, 15 minutes south of Charlotte, NC. The Charlotte news has testing line stories blaring. Long lines and long waits. No lines here, just 15 minutes away. I was in CVS which is the easiest place to get tested. There was nobody there for tests.
Which begs the question if there really are long lines of people waiting to get tested “everywhere.” It’s always somewhere else. Funny that no one dies of/with covida at home. It’s always at a hospital.
And these tests can detect the variant you have, even if it is a false positive?
I got the j&j shot in March, tested positive in Oct, spent 3 days in the hosp. mostly for a touch of pneumonia. They gave me antibiotics and remdesivir for 3 days and sent me home. Continued with Vit. D and zinc, breathing got back to normal. I have no plans to do anymore shots or tests. Especially if I get a ‘cold’. Except for the ‘touch’ of pneumonia I did not have any other symptoms or conditions. Did I really have Covid? I don’t know.
I don’t plan on giving in to the hype/hysreia. It’s just crazy.

So far as I know based on all the reading, a PCR test or home antigen test absolutely cannot detect a variant.
The agencies use genetic sequencing on a sample of specimens to determine the dominant variant, and then extrapolate mathematically to determine the percentages in an area and push it to the media. It’s lot like polling extrapolation (and I expect subject to very similar human-caused sorts of errors).
Genetic sequencing is expensive and takes at least 8 days.
In blueMA, TPTB announced on Dec 17th that the moronic had overtaken the delta. I got my symptoms from the delta on Dec 5th – I think that was actually just before the announcement that ONE moronic case had been identified in my county.
A good friend of mine is singer with a small band. Before Christmas, she called to invite me to their Christmas concert at a local pub. Masks? Vaccinations? “Yes,” she said, “but it’s all good, all you have to do is get a test to show you don’t have covid and bring the test results to the pub! The tests are easy!!”

A friend in CT who volunteers as an EMT on her town’s ambulance told me the virus is rapidly spreading in her community of about 15K residents. Other volunteers who have a covid positive family member they’ve been in contact with, test daily to be sure they do/don’t have it. She said every day, volunteers call in to say “they’ve got it” and won’t be available for ambulance duty. The local Walmart runs out of test kits shortly after being put on the shelves. Here in more rural western Maine, at the hospital I use, drive through testing is done by appointment only and there’s always a line of about 5 cars. Oddly enough, my health insurance provider constantly sends emails and snail mail reminding me to get a flu shot. NEVER got any missive from them telling me to get “the jab.”
I know of nobody getting reminders to get the flu injection but everybody is bombarded with booster reminders via text, TV, e-mail, drug store voice messages, et al from every source one can name.

My area is a mix. Even those that have verbally told me one thing seem to be falling one by one into the maze of hysteria.
I really wish that germ theory vs. terrain theory could be discussed. I live in the Atlanta suburbs. Almost every family I know has had someone sick with Covid, including mine. I know about 15 sick people. Almost everyone had to cancel their Christmas plans. We still haven’t opened gifts or had Christmas dinner. Our quarantine is over Wednesday and we’re declaring this Thursday Christmas. Home tests are impossible to find and PCR test appointments are full until after the new year. Our daughter, the one with Covid, has had essentially a cold. But we couldn’t take the chance of her being around my 82 year old unvaxxed Mother. No one should get tested unless they have symptoms. They’re just making the sick spread it because they don’t know until it’s too late because they can’t get tests. Sorry for the book but I have a bit of expertise this week.

If you have the flu and not the coof do you go and visit your 82 year old mother anyway?
If you recover either way then you are not passing anything on do it makes no difference.

Re; your 82 year old — it is inconsequential whether or not she is vaxxed. Being vaxxed would not protect her. Like all the sick “100% vaxxed” people on those cruise ships.
