Eh, this is awkward… and simultaneously so typical of the current administration. The White House trotted Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm to the microphones today to tell the DC stenographers how brilliant, beneficial and strategically necessary it is to release 50 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in an effort to lower gasoline prices. The enthusiastic Energy Secretary read the script, gave her talking points and then took questions.
However, after spending 15 minutes talking about the strategic brilliance of the 50 million barrel release, one of the stenographers accidentally asked: “that said, how many barrels of oil do U.S. consumers use every day?”… Granholm paused, looked down and said: “I don’t have that number in front of me, I’m sorry“… WATCH:
.
♦ The amount we are giving you is so incredible and brilliant it will make everyone’s lives better. The best ever.
♦ How much do we need?
♦ I don’t know. We didn’t get that information. But the amount we are giving is awesome.
Yup, that’s the Biden administration encapsulated.

This woman is a nut case…
You can see it in her eyes.
Lord help us!
I did not watch the whole video. Did she credit Trump for topping it off and if the oil lowers gas prices, will she blame the Trump administration?
Did carmaless buy some oil stock in the company that buys the oil, like Algore did when bj sold the oil reserves??
No.
But she’s cute.
Seriously?!
She WAS cute…sort of like Kamala. Back in the day, they were the both what passed for ‘hot’ in political circles. They parlayed that advantage to a position of power. The bloom is off the rose for these gals. Being on the public stage has revealed their incompetence.
The left holds women up as examples of “breaking the glass ceiling”. As Mike Dawson, from the Adam Corolla show, likes to say, “Every time a woman breaks the glass ceiling, a man has to fix it.”
A “hot” Democrat isn’t much of an inspiration or draw ……………….. I take my conservative wife anytime.
Excellent statement….and your wife is very lucky to have you as admiring Husband!
Maybe thats why they don’t age well,…breaking too many glass cielings, face first.
I agree she WAS attractive at one point, about 5-7 years ago, but so was Pelosi, once upon a time.
They all get this kind of brittle look,. .maybe from tolerating being manhandled by the likes of Joe, Teddy and Bill?
So is a chipmunk. I not sure of the exact chapter and verse but I think chipmunks are barred from working in our government?
No she’s definitely not. On deployment whether on ship or in s-holes like Iraq and Afghanistan we used to rate the females on a bell curve. Using that formula I would rank Granholm a ‘Deployment-5 and a ‘Stateside-2’. 🙂 Only 1 I ever saw that was a ‘Deployment-10+ and a ‘Stateside-10’ was our ships dentist on the USS Peleliu in 1999. She was smokin!
I don’t know why, but this makes me laugh so much…I bet that poor dentist saw more Marines, who were concerned about their dental health, than she ever thought possible!!!
Wow, USS Peleliu, I was East side on the Pan (USS Saipan LHA-2) for the ones that don’t know. I was also US Navy, was great giving you guys rides to the fights ya’ll picked. I made friends with a few Jarheads, I told them there was about 2000 Marines and roughly 1000 Sailors. Told him that if a fight broke out, they would need more guys. 🙂
Looks just like not a clue Elizabeth Warren.
It’s called the poor woman’s facelift.
They laser off the real eyebrow ( on her it’s the hooded part right above her eye. You can tell because it’s so pale )
Then they tattoo a fake eyebrow much higher up on the forehead, usually with an unnatural arch.
It’s supposed to give the illusion of a lifted face .
Nancy Pelosi has it, too.
Refer to Peter Schweizer about her clear cut conflicts of interest re an electric bus company.
Hahahaha. They can’t hide the idiot in them. The eyes are a dead giveaway. They are always cranked wide open as if an emergency is at hand. They bounce all over the place as if disconnected. Not much different that someone who smokes allot of whacky weed. The people are messed up.
US uses 20.4 million barrels of oil/day. So…2.5 days worth? Yay.
but we will still be producing nearly all of those 20.4 million barrels every day. Maybe there is a million barrel a day shortfall, and if so, the 50 million barrels would get old Joe through the Holidays, barely. But that is probably all that Obama and his friends have decided to allow JoeBama to take from the strategic reserve right now.
A deal with the Chinese would allow us to completely empty the strategic reserves in exchange for China to wait until then to start a war somewhere like Taiwan or Afghanistan or even California. China would leap at that deal and Biden could pump his fist about saving Taiwan and supplying us with more oil while he is at it. Of course, as usual, six months or less from now China’s side of the bargain will be completed while our dwindling oil production due to our supply chain problems create much higher gasoline prices at the pump than we have ever seen. $5/gallon won’t break us, but $10/gallon and zero strategic reserves just might wreck our entire economy, which is why I am afraid these bozos will do such a thing.
I don’t know what the breaking point is for most Americans, but if we average $5 nationwide there won’t be a safe space for politicians. I think the American people would lose their ish!
2.5days worth to be disbursed over several weeks. In other words, it will likely not be noticeable at the pump at all.
However, she slipped up and admitted gas prices have already started to decrease by approximately 10%. So, if her claim is accurate, and the decrease in price at the pump continues, the drop will be almost, if not entirely, because of whatever is already causing the decrease, NOT Biden’s release of 50 million gallons from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
But, you can bet they will give Biden credit for any decrease, if it happens.
So, what IS causing the current slight decrease? Well, the same thing happened several months ago with the last ‘surge’ in gas prices. The price jumped 20 – 30 cents per gal. over a period of a a few weeks and then decreased by about 5 – 10 cents a gal. What it looks like to me is that they’re raising the price to an almost unbearable amount and then slightly lowering it to make everyone ‘feel good’ about the price improving a little bit. But each new surge still leaves us paying 15 – 25 cents per gal, more than it was before the surge.
My observations are based on me driving approximately three thousand miles per month in midwestern Georgia and mideastern Alabama. During the last ten days of the latest surge, I’ve seen gas anywhere from $3.05/gal to $3.59/gal. The upper end seems to have stayed about the same; while the lower end has decreased about 5 – 10 cents a gal. during that time.
It’s surprising how much gas prices can vary from town to town; or sometimes, even from station to station in the same town. Since I travel pretty much the same places over and over, I’ve learned where the cheapest places (normally) are; and I plan my gas purchases accordingly. I’ll also take advantage of any ‘surprise’ low prices by filling up even if I’m not running very low. And, I ALWAYS pack as much as possible into my tank when the price is cheap instead of hanging up the nozzle as soon as the pump automatically cuts off.
By the way, using GasBuddy.com is a good way to find the cheapest gas prices near home or on trips. See link below:

Since the price setting starts with the futures market, maybe the periodic “slight drop” is from profit taking, by those investing in futures?
bUT when holiday travel is thrown in, ITS LOTS MORE, The break down is going to equal maybe 20 cents per gallon for maybe 2-3 weeks max, and that is at the extreme…. GOOD IDEA FOR HIDEN…..AND ALL STATES……REMOVE ALL FEDERAL TAXES FOR 3 MONTHS, SAME AS STATES…..LET PEOPLE REALLY SEE WHAT GAS COSTS
Look, numbers are HARD!! No one told me there would be numbers involved in the job, okay? You people are clearly racist!!
As a futures trader, the last few weeks crude oil went from 85 a barrel to 76ish and is currently 78.86 as I write this. I questioned crudes drop but didn’t pay much attention to it as I really don’t trade crude oil that much.
Now it all makes sense and if anyone knows during holidays prices generally go up, not down. Boy oh boy the media is going to tout this as the next best thing to sliced bread.
LGB aka FJB
Did you hear her say (Bid)? They are selling our reserves to our enemies for operating funds. Tax bought andpaid for oil they are selling. WTH you think we will see a dime or a gallon of either? 11% of a 1.9 trillion budget passed we get 1% more than the Big Guy Time to raise a ruckus people call them all out.
That was a tell, to try to cover over the money they are making selling our reserves to Asia. How does that benefit one single American? It doesn’t!
More confirmation:
1. Liberals poor w facts.
2. Liberals poor w basic numbers
3. How much went to China?
She has an education which would SEEM to indicate literacy – graduated from UC Berkeley, went on to Harvard Law School .. .
and I would expect that a governor of Michigan SHOULD be conversant, literate, have it at her fingertips all that might need to be known re the oil market and how things in that affect the auto market, the mainstay of the economy of Michigan –
how did she get through all that and wind up looking like such an obvious doofus?
Ask the Obama’s. Same career path.
Sleeping with powerful men?
My experience is that the most “educated” are actually the ones that lack common sense. They act like they don’t know why we have a shortage of gas… drill baby, drill. But, no, they don’t want to and it’s a strategic effort to quickly stop the use of fossil fuels. People have no idea what it will be like when the spigot gets turned off completely.
Shell game. Where are our oil reserves if they ship the “pea” to Asia. The way this appears to be going is that our oil reserves are being siphoned off and then we will be told they used it for lower prices at the pump.
Biden regime: Oh, so sad, so sorry, you’ll just have to have a Greed New Deal EV.
Thank you Sundance, my eyes are open!!
Because she, like all the members of Biden’s Cabinet, is an Obama sock puppet. As such, she does not have answers until the puppet masters tell her what to say.
She’s an overeducated idiot.
WHY do we continue to think that a University education, from a prestigious school, means someone is smart?
Remember “Best and Brightest”, that got us in Vietnam, with no clue how to get out?
Look at SCOTUS, and recent appointments; great educational resume, and they are idiots.
What is called degree’d but uneducated
Buttgiegs starting to look almost smart, for taking two months off, during a crises involving transportation.
Maybe ALL of the Bidenttes Cabinet should follow his lead?
The real energy Secretary
Haha! A funny scene, maybe even more so since it is another example of Hollywood portraying conservatives as the greedy crooks and Ralph Nader as a selfless hero.
She will be proven right and claim credit. Gas usually goes down in January. It’s called winter. They call it climate change.
That’s OK. The only guy on local media who could do the math and know that release is a 2 1/2 day supply is the stock market analyst.
Truly one pony short of a dog and pony show.
Pathetic.
But, these pathetic displays reveal just how very, very dangerous these communists are, because desperation makes unhinged people all the more deadly.
This is the Whole Ball Game to them.
They know JoeBama is a shill, with no future pretending to be president. We know it, and they know we know it.
Things are going to get very bumpy, very soon I’m afraid.
Where do they get these “experts”? I want our country, no…. We NEED our country to have the brightest, the sharpest and the most knowledgeable leaders and not these people who lend no confidence in their reading points where they are just ‘hopeful’.
The title of this vid nails it!
OMG the comments at this vid.
Usually there’s several braindead Dem voters who defend this slimebag.
But here there is not one so far.
Very heartening!
OK. Read ’em all.
335 comments, Not. One. defending the fool.
That’s a first.
How can anyone who voted for him hide their shame? He is an embarrassment.
I live in northern Minnesota, 20 miles from where Gus Hall — American Communist leader — grew up in a home with radical communist parents.
The people around here are rabid leftists. Many still have their Biden/Harris signs up.
Always suspected Golden State was a conservative leaning site cuz they used to vid. Trump rallies, etc.
But the title of this vid really proves it!
hahahahahah!!!!!
Biden started to dribble from his mouth. The amount of meds he is on have that as a side effect. That’s why he always wore a mask–to hide his saliva dribbling from his mouth on camera! Ah Ha!
“I don’t know the answer.”
Why?
“Math wasn’t my best subject in Third Grade. I thought that 50 divided by 10 was the same as 10 divided by 50.”
“But lookee! I got a good job despite math!”
And again, you do not raid the Strategic Reserve in an effort to mask high prices that YOU CAUSED.
This is disgusting.
Biden Admin. is draining it to harm us.
Just like every other thing he’s done.
maybe they are shipping it to China
12 million barrels went to “ASIA.”
Pathetic that the people asking the questions appear to understand the issue way better than the “expert” who’s providing the answers.
You KNOW you’re stupid when you start making these journalists look smart.
Is there anyone in this administration that actually knows what is going on in the world around them? I don’t think so.
Oh they know.
They are intentionally doing everything they need to do to destroy the country in record time.
There’s no way this is not planned.
It’s too perfect, in every way.
This is purposeful destruction masked as incompetence by people who are “highly educated” which gives their enablers the ability to counter the “incompetence” narrative to low information idiots. If you had someone who didn’t go to Harvard say this crap then you couldn’t effectively counter the idiot label [although there are plenty of people in this country who didn’t go to Harvard or even graduate from high school that are likely as smart or smarter than this woman, but I digress]. But see how this works. She damn well knows how many barrels of oil we consume here every day. She damn well knows that this strategy is bs to mask what they are actually doing. But she dodders on, people describe her as incompetent, the media pushes back that she went to Harvard and low information types go: well she went to Harvard if they say she’s incompetent it’s just politics. In reality these people are methodically, purposely and strategically impoverishing us for their own wealth through political power. This entire climate change/Covid/Green Deal hoax(es) is (are) designed for to accomplish the accumulation of power and wealth in a few and the impoverishment and destruction of many to create economic dependents. These people are beyond evil.
this is how a presser of integrity would go
“I don’t have that figure in front of me”
everyone laughs hysterically, points at this jackwagon and starts.muttering
“doesn’t know ? are you kidding”
“what do you actually do ?”
“do you know what a barrel of oil even is?”
“what do you guess it might be.?..amuse us, let’s just pretend .. take a wild ass guess..if you are close we’ll leave it alone…go ahead… doesn’t have to be perfect…just THINK about it…here is paper and pen…you can spend 5 minutes coming up with a reasoned estimate”
“is your aide here? maybe you can ask.your aide to make a quick call?”
“damnit .. this isn’t rocket science..it’s well established by your agency what THAT number is..how can you NOT know this?”
“you should resign right now…that would be the honorable thing to do!”
“what do you actually get paid to do?”
“are you drunk, high, or stupid?”
“you have just made everyone stupid in this room. you are an idiot..”
“if I told you what the answer is, would you know of it was a true answer?”
“who considers you as an authority on energy policy… name some references”?
I would add one more question.. ” Did you have to swallow to get this job?”
As I recall from the 70’s, the publicity & justification for the SPR was very much for military use. Since we are now begging SA & other hostile nations for oil, it would be a perfect time for China to fire up tensions over Taiwan AND Russia to run their tanks over some of Ukraine; while our planes are grounded and ships in home dock. Xi & Vladimir must be snort laughing over our stupidity!
Granholm is an idiot and a fraud, spewing the Democrat “clean energy” nonsense. My father was an accountant for Standard Oil. My husband’s father worked for Flying A, then Getty. My husband worked as an automation specialist for a major oil company. I grew up on an oil lease, located about 15 miles from Elk Hills, where the Strategic Naval Energy Preserve was located before Bill Clinton sold it to Occidental Oil.
Why do Democrats habitually undermine our access to inexpensive, reliable energy? IMO it is because they want to strip American citizens of our liberty. Having an abundance of fossil fuels makes us powerful on the global stage. Our energy supply has been a deterrent to war and a boon to our standard of living. There is an obvious correlation between having access to affordable energy and having personal freedom.
There was a saying among the guys who worked in the oil and gas business; “We’re going to use their oil first.” This was back in the day when the left touted “Peak Oil” as a boogy-man. “We’re going to run out of oil and gas so we need to subsidize new types of energy that don’t rely on fossil fuel”. Of course they were wrong about peak oil, just like they’ve been wrong on most things.
Anyone who supports the Green New Deal has no understanding of the role fossil fuels play in our lives, or they are sociopathic liars.
They are going for it ALL;
ALL the necessities of life, they want to control;
Housing
Energy
Food
Transportation
Employment
if you don’t tow the party line, if you get outa line, they can deprive you of the necessities, to force compliance.
HEALTH add to that list.
She’ll fit right in………..
What a tease to have energy independence & then be hit by the illigitimate wrecking ball…………..
I can’t find many qualifications that Granholm has, to be Secretary of Energy. She’s a lawyer, who has held several government positions. But the only thing that I found that qualifies her to be Secretary of Energy is the fact that she was on the boards of Dow Chemical Company, ChargePoint, and Proterra. Maybe she has the education and job experience, but I didn’t find them.
She has a BA in Political Science and in French, and a Juris Doctor degree. But I’d prefer someone who has a degree in chemistry or in physics.
I think the Secretary of Energy should be required to have a degree in an energy-related field, such as electrical engineering. And I think he/she should have worked in an energy-related job – both in the field (ex: laying and repairing oil pipes), and also as a manager.
Skeltor was the first head of the Dept of Homeland Security, and Gov whashisface the second; neither had ANY credentials or experience.
Political appointees seldom do.
Why do we have a Department of Energy anyways???? Or a Department of Education?
Dismantle all these bureaucracies.
Another Pure Idiot from Pure Michigan.
I think she might be an import from Canada. Am I right about this or am I thinking about the wrong person?
I believe you are correct–maybe a dual passport holder. We Americans should be able to force her over the border on her Canadian passport and force Ontario to take her back. Geesh.
Not long ago, either granholms cackle responce, or this deer in headlights answer would have had her fired, in short order.
In this admin, she probably got praise for both her responces.
For an administration pushing the ideology that Big Government, with its technocrats, is “the answer”, they are doing a piss poor job, of trying to convince by example.
Stuttering, stammering hot mess. She then makes it worse by saying-see previous sentence-that it will be released over a period of time. And then says the reason that price has gone up is because usage is greater than supply. Any idea how that happened Jenny? Of course not, because of course you don’t.
Usage is up?! Trucks are PARKED, you cat-eyed freak. People are not driving, they have no money to go anywhere. There is no demand. Nobody I work with has taken any time off this week to “travel to be with family” like they always do. Nobody, not even the bigwigs. We can’t afford it.
I could comment on every post on this site today. But my gawd. If the Energy Secretary of the United States doesn’t even get the purpose of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve I am at a loss for any good words.
Its called SPRO. This reserve is only to be used I guess, in wartime. Not price time.
The Biden Cabinet Members.: I haven’t read of one yet that knows why and what the fork they are supposed to be doing in their jobs with their salary plus lifelong retirement benefits yet. The US taxpayer will be supporting these numbnuts until death do they part. That’s just the way it is.
When I read about Nadler opening his mouth today, I felt the need to TAKE OUT MY FLAMETHROWER (which is used to kill weeds). Good grief, I am letting their insanity impact my own. Not a good thing.
I need to develop a much denser, thicker skin on so many levels. I want to stay aware, but I have to wonder, do I really want to become an addict re Hard Seltzer to do so? Seems thats where I’ve been going lately.
Signing out until after Thanksgiving. See you on the other side.
Peace be Upon Us All.
https://www.energy.gov/articles/doe-make-available-release-50-million-barrels-crude-oil-strategic-petroleum-reserve
WASHINGTON, D.C.— At the direction of President Biden, U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm authorized that 50 million barrels of crude oil from the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) be made available. As the global economy recovers from the pandemic, oil supply has failed to increase at a pace necessary to meet demand. Today’s decision is in response to the highest oil prices experienced in seven years and aims to ensure adequate supply as we exit the pandemic. For the first time, as the result of the President’s leadership, today’s announcement is in parallel with other major energy consuming nations including China, India, Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.
Companies interested in receiving crude oil through the exchange must submit bids no later than 10:00 a.m. Central Time, December 6, 2021, and contracts will be awarded to successful offerors no later than December 14, 2021. Deliveries will take place January through April 2022, with early deliveries accepted in late December.
Exchange crude oil will be returned to the SPR in calendar years 2022, 2023, and 2024. A Notice of Sale for up to 18 million barrels of SPR crude oil will be announced no sooner than December 17, 2021.
Any company registered in the SPR’s Crude Oil Sales Offer Program is eligible to participate in the exchange and/or the upcoming Congressionally mandated sale. Other interested companies may register through the SPR website’s Crude Oil Sales Offer Program
Everything is being blamed on Covid.
What an evil joke.
Just completed reading all the comments, then watched video. All comments that assigned a grade of ‘D or F’ on Energy Secretary Granholm’s performance was extremely generous, should be an F – – – (minus, minus, minus) off the grading chart.. . Incompetence at the highest level. Indicative of the whole ‘Joe&Ho Clown Show’ staffing; from the top to the bottom (including the Puppet Masters).
As stated by their personnel, “…. all on track according to the plan…”.
Just ask The One. FJB. FBO.
WTF…She is a complete IDIOT…She has no clue WTF she is doing….
Perfect example of the Coup, that has taken our country….
There’s no shortage. This release means nothing but gas at an inflated price. The price, not the fake shortage crisis, is the issue.
This entire administration is ‘awkward’. The fact that this group of essentially unelected, but imposed, globalists whose actual intent is to destroy the US so the ‘great reset’ can be rolled in, is appalling.
“We are giving you a band-aid for a gaping wound, lower your expectations! Also, who cares if you can’t get gas in the future, that’s not how we roll.”
I am so totally sick of these people who don’t solve problems but instead create more.
Granholm is a cipher, and was so here in Michigan. A complete zero.
Again SD, I think your implied encapsulation misses the mark. On the contrary, the Biden Administration is performing quite competently against its unstated agenda: curtailing the fossil fuel-dependent, productive economy.
The Strategic Reserve release is symbolic at best and serves as a ‘constructive’ gesture only, signifying little or nothing. The people running the Biden Administration are well aware of the nation’s need for energy. They are hellbent on starving that need, effectively transmuting it from energy dependency (productive output) to UBI dependency (wards of the state).
Sorry, but I can’t shake the feeling we’re analytically dithering not because further analysis is necessary, but because the transition from trenchant analysis to concrete action is so daunting and is tantamount to a Rubicon crossing. How many more daily events must we dissect in order to grasp that the nation is being systematically destroyed? Is any regular on this blog still awaiting further confirmation?
Nope, I’m not in need of CONFIRMATION of the coming chaos…however, I use this blog as MOTIVATION to get ready for it….
Ditto.
You really think Sundance doesn’t know this already? He’s way ahead of these fools. That’s why we come here.
It must be remembered that these people are not put in their positions because they’re competent at THAT, and might take a briefing on Day 3 that gave them some numbers they should always have at their fingertips. No.
They are in because they are True Believers® and are working everyday on their piece of destroying the country.
To quote a line from an old BeeGees song…
“The captain’s in the chart room,
navigating by the stars…
We can’t know where we’re going’
because we don’t know where we are.”
Biden appoints people with no knowledge of US citizen requirements (in this case energy).
And somehow Senate approved?
This wouldn’t work one minute in the private sector.
“…more of an art than a science.”
More of a lie than the truth.
Nothing like dwindling our oil reserves while the left begs those who want to murder us for more oil.
Just another puzzle piece in place for their destruction of our country.
How can she be responsible for US Energy and NOT KNOW how many barrels of oil the US consumes daily? Imagine owning a gas station and not knowing how many gallons of gas you sell in an average day or week. How and when would you order more? This is foundational inventory information and she has no clue. Do you know why? Because the number doesn’t matter to her or them. Their job is to destroy the market and the economy as we know it. Get it?
Yep, the picture of an idiot in action.
is she any more incompetent than the idiot that appointed her?
The dumper at the Vatican?
The farter in Duchess’ face?
The demented person that reads from a teleprompter and can’t do that correct?
The one that selected Kamala as VP?
The one DESTROYING America?
The idiot with a drug-porn-sex-crime invested family?
Why are Americans paying twice for the same fuel?
All I have to say is, “That is hilarious!”
And then “What about filling the ‘oh so strategic oil supply’ back up? How soon will you do that?
Is this just Pocahontas in disguise?
Some guy on NPR said this release will not make things better and that this release endangers our strategic abilities
From NPR this AM…plenty of progressives heard that report
