I’m old enough to remember when Americans held the FBI in esteem. In those olden days, the FBI needed a search warrant to come in and search a person’s property or business. Apparently they think they are now above the laws of our US Constitution? That is justification for defunding them and abolishing this corrupt agency. Since the Comey era transgressions, they have completely failed their mission to clean up their act, as promised by their pathetic new Director, Christopher Wray, following the firing of Comey after the fake Mueller Investigation . One of the world’s greatest mysteries is how Trump could ever have thought to hire completely unimpressive Wray. His ineffectiveness and corruption were obvious the moment he made a public statement to Americans upon his hire. He has not offered any kind of news conference since, although he has been hauled in front of Congress under Oath on multiple occasions to discuss ongoing concerns involving his errant agency.
The only remedy seems to be to take away their budget and dismantle this rogue agency that does not respect our laws. Sec. of State broke into her office in a State raid and took the voting records for Mesa County. Tina had a back-up copy. Anyway she and 3 or four of her elderly friend were awakened to SWAT Teams from the FBI at their doors last week and they battered down the door of one of her friends. All this is totally out of control!

I believe it is a Fifth Amendment due process violation to execute a search warrant outside of the physical presence of the person who is the subject of the warrant since that person needs to sign an inventory of what has been seized. A person cannot do that when the search occurs outside their presence. Also I see no reason that the search may not be recorded by the subject of the warrant or why that person should be prevented from calling legal counsel. Also this jack booted approach in my experience is exclusively reserved for situations where the person or the place to be searched can be supported by a reasonable articulable basis to believe the person(s) or premises presents a risk of serious physical harm to law enforcement. I think I heard her say that someone from the County’s district attorney office was there. Prosecutors have qualified, not absolute, immunity in this context and are subject to suit under 42 USC 1983. Now the warrant had to have been signed off on by a judge but it will be interesting to see what the probable cause was for the warrant. If I were advising her I would advise her to get a really good, fearless criminal lawyer as well as begin the search for a really good, fearless civil rights lawyer with experience in bringing 1983 actions and Bivens actions.

In an earlier comment I confused a consent search with one authorized by a warrant. It is a consent search that must be conducted in the presence of the subject giving consent because that consent can revoked at any time. Also now see she and her husband hunt so there may have been knowledge that firearms were present in the home. Even yet ramming down the door seems jack booted in light of the lack of criminal history that she reports. Would still love to see the probable cause statement which supported the warrant and still advise securing the services of a good, fearless criminal lawyer.

When this happens, you have to get the names of the officers involved and publicize the names. “I was just following orders” can never be an excuse.
This stuff has gone way too far. I am not even sure our Country will get through this mess. The Goobermint Bureaucrats would rather have our Country die on the vine than lose their ill gotten power. This has played out many times over the course of human history, and it has always accomplished the same thing. Another setback to the natural rights of human beings. I just wish there could be some kind of enlightenment among the Bureaucrats before everyone, including all of them, become victims of another failed attempt at civilized politics.
