I think he was talking about the Holocaust. He obviously doesn’t know all that much about WWII. There were rumors and intel reports but they were so horrible and senseless that the Allied leadership thought they were exaggerated. They assumed the Jews were in slave labor camps under very bad conditions but not being systematically exterminated because it made no sense for the Nazis to do that because they would lose their labor. When the first camp was liberated and reports came back hdqtrs did not believe them. The front line officers got angry and told them to come up and see for them selves if they didn’t believe them. They did and were shocked, remember these were hardened combat veterans, When it got back to Patten he could not believe the reports so he went to see for himself and was sickened and horrified. That’s is why nothing was done to liberate the camps earlier and also it would not have been militarily possible to more till very late in the war.
They couldn’t believe the reports because the reports were horsecrap.

I’ve seen this behavior first hand as a family member with dementia went through this.
We had no idea what was going on until a home health nurse, who happened to be educated in this field, observed the behavior and talked to us about it. It is indicative of a certain type of dementia. He explained there are several different types of dementia and this particular type is hallmarked by fits of anger or angry behavior.
FJB has dementia, and the Emperor has no clothes.
Same here; both my dad and his mom, grandma, had this type of behavior, later they were diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Spontaneous angry outbursts, turned into aggressive ones, and always thought it was their way of fighting the fog of unknowing where and who they were.
A few months ago there was a video of FJB straying in an odd direction for entering the White House, he was basically following the Secret Service agent who himself was going into a different door.
The wandering is also a common characteristic of that type of dementia. He did it last month when his wife was speaking at an event with him and he simply started wandering off stage.
His board-straight posture with small baby steps looks odd — like he’s slightly dazed and is making a conscious effort not to stumble.
Our family member recently got frustrated that he’s not able to drive anymore and took a cab to Walmart to buy a bicycle. Once on it, he promptly fell, broke a rib, and punctured a lung. Have no idea where he was trying to go but now he’s hospitalized and hopefully will find full time care at the VA (God willing). It’s an awful disease and heartbreaking to watch.
Same problem we had, it started with angry talk(cursing we couldn’t believe) and yelling, then it morphed into physical attacks and dangerously throwing objects at people. It got so bad that family members were afraid of what could happen if they turned their back. Had to be put in Psych Ward for close to a month to come up with a drug regimen that could control it. Now in a Mem Ward at Nursing home with locked doors and constant supervision, we still occasionally get phone calls berating everybody in between med times. She was the sweetest person, but the language and attacks was just astounding! The people who have put him there instead of a nursing home are soulless!
Have a family member with advanced dementia. His wife refused to admit what was happening because she’s in poor health herself and didn’t want to lose her freedom because believe it or not he was still driving. No one could stop him from driving till he hit a police officer and they finally took his keys AND his license away. Now since it’s so advanced they are finding it difficult if not impossible to find a facility to care for him. For years he was a perpetual state of anger and very combative about the most benign things. Became impossible to be around. Making inappropriate comments to the grandchildren…………that sort of thing. It’s been the most difficult thing to go through. I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.

Went to 3 different tractor dealers, and they all told me their tractors are stuck in ports, with no transport. Spare parts are stuck in port with no transport.
Talked to a couple of old timer farmers, they say their former farmhands are all trying to be house flippers and are busy remodeling older rural houses that are being bought up sight unseen by various “city slickers” (his words), leaving Atlanta or Chicago.

You cannot un-see these things. (this is on top of his mild Alzheimers). Heck, he might even have early mild Lewy Body Dementia as those patients have “good” days and “bad” days and it is rapidly progressive; 6-7 years survival. (That is what Robin Williams had before he committed suicide).
I also noticed on occasion he has a kind of loping gait, appearing to have, perhaps, foot drop on one side.
I can’t even begin to express how angry this makes me feel. The nerve of this man to stand there as some saint while so many lose their jobs have no freedoms to participate in society. They know what they are doing, he sounds like Hitler himself up there.

My sweet former Marine dad left us 17 months ago after a long battle with Alzheimer’s/dementia (whatever you want to call it) and this video brought back sad memories of his battle. Those eyes that see nothing, the brain that doesn’t connect any longer…the outbursts of anger. If this man DOESN’T have dementia/ALZ, something else for sure is going on and it’s not good. HOW DARE his family put him on public display like that! HOW can the Democrats allow a constituent to be made a spectacle of for all the world to see? At the very beginning, when he was discussing the refusal of the US to bomb railway tracks carrying folks to death camps, was the only context I was able to see, which could in my mind engender righteous anger. The rest of it was snippets and bites, unintelligible.
