Kash Patel appears on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo to discuss the latest developments in the John Durham probe. Patel formerly worked on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) with Chairman Devin Nunes, and was one of the key figures who authored the Nunes memo in early 2018.
Mr. Patel is optimistic in his discussion with Council on Foreign Relations member, Maria Bartiromo, and states that from his experience large conspiracy indictments can take several years to assemble. Patel believes Special Prosecutor John Durham, now 30 months into his investigation, is working his way through the investigative material and could bring indictments against DOJ and FBI government insiders in roughly six months or more.
Patel’s perspective should make the ‘trusty planners’ very happy. CTH does not have that same level of optimism or positive perspective for the primary reason of Robert Mueller. However, presumably Kash Patel would know much more accurately about what took place from his central position next to Chairman Devin Nunes (2017/2018/2019), then next to Director of National Intelligence, John Ratcliffe (2020), and then next to Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller (’20/’21). Not anywhere close to a lawyer or even a legal mind, but doesn’t criminal conspiracy charges, as an offense, have longer periods regarding the statute of limitations than many of the individual crimes?
Also not a lawyer, but I did read that “conspiracy” Statute of Limitations start when the last act of the conspiracy happens, as opposed to other crimes which have a start time when the act happens. Normal crimes (as if there is something normal about crime) happens and is usually here and now. Conspiracies take planning and input and action and then coverup. The last act of the coverup starts the Statute of Limitations.
So in my undereducated opinion, the Statute of Limitations on the Russia/Steele mess was started when the Mueller Special Prosecutor Investigation ended and the report was forwarded to DOJ… No wait, Barr covered that up…. with Durham, so the conspiracy is still going on, with the possible outcome that Durham will have to investigate himself . . . .

This article was written in 2008 by a self described “crime reporter” for Boston Magazine. It provides his analysis of the investigation and prosecution of crooked FBI agent John “Zip” Connolly for his dealings with Whitey Bulger. This, of course, was the first “limelight” prosecution by John Durham. The author clearly is biased in favor of Connolly (not sure why) and is extremely critical of Durham. (He even gratuitously mocks Durham’s appearance, evidence of extreme bias, in my opinion.) His substantive criticism of Durham, however, is a precursor of the reservations expressed by Sundance for the last 2 years. He argues that Durham is just a “company man” whose job was to nail Connolly as the fall guy for the extensive FBI corruption in Boston and to make sure the investigation ended with Connolly, as the lone “rouge agent”. I personally would like to see the focus on 2020 election fraud and how to get back to free, fair and legitimate elections.
