Governor Ron DeSantis spoke at the Latin Builders Association’s 40th Annual Awards Ceremony on Friday. The Florida governor took the opportunity to emphasize the benefits of keeping government officials focused on freedom and liberty.

The main problem with DeSantis is every letter I get from him has a return address connected to the Republican party and I will not ever donate money that goes to a Republican party address.
Even the Florida Republican party is suspect and should not be trusted. I have seen a lot of typical fake conservative/decepticon type Florida Republicans to believe the RINO infestation of the GOP is not also strong in the state party.
Is he aware the RNC is using his name?
Honestly, if he is doing a great job, which he is, and you should support him. Excuses for not supporting someone who is standing up for his constituents is lame and ignorant.
So are people who call others names, especially here. I imagine you might have a D on your glass, because that is what they do.
Here we respect other people’s opinions, especially when they are logical and fact-based.
I thought here we were “permitted” to express our beliefs openly. What differentiates you from Sonnie? And why do you think you speak for anyone else on this site.
I’m same TL. If that thing ends up on “WINRED” I have no interest.
Apologies TL=Two Laine but this was meant for Sonnie. I don’t trust the Republican apparatchik. There’s some that I really do like and trust but I am afraid it goes to people who are worse than leftists. At least you know where leftist stand.
WinRed is not the Republican Party.
I assumed it was? Every time I donated to Trump it was routed to winred. That’s back when we all believed to some degree that our country would pull through and most R’s were too scared of the voter base to buck too hard. I hope we do pull thru but my expectations have been reset.
“WinRed is an American Republican Party fundraising platform endorsed by the Republican National Committee.” Now that, I believe. You don’t? If you go to WinRed’s site and look around, they even have a picture of a sample donation going to McConnell. I would never donate to WinRed. Won’t go to those who need it, but fatten the pockets of Globalists.
I searched WinRed’s database of campaigns on their site. They don’t have a campaign for DeSantis listed so there’s no donation button for him. There are 14 states with no listing for a Governor campaign. Florida is one of them.
Friends of Ron Desantis I believe is the campaign donation site.
I saw that website, but, not being familiar with his campaigns, I wanted to let someone else confirm that. It appears to be what his own website links to for donations.
WinRed ripped me off the second time I donated to President Trump. They doubled my donation AUTOMATICALLY, I had to wait 3 wks to get my money back in the acct. Glad they could make some interest while I waited. I wonder how many folks this happened to.
They have “default” settings that you have to UN-check (if you don’t want that) as you move carefully through each screen. I think they sometimes default to monthly donation (for whatever amount you click or enter) plus the double donation sometimes defaults. You have to be real careful as you fill out each selection.
I was. I had just been laid off, and money was tight.
Sonnie, I believe you’re missing the point. Hanbun isn’t alone in wanting to support DeSantis, while not wanting to send hard earned money to the GOP, where it might not even end up going to DeSantis, but some POS RINO instead.
It’s true that many/most mail that appears to be from DeSantis is actually from the GOP. Who knows how much of a donation would actually go to him?
I’m considering friendsofrondesantis. Any info would be appreciated.
Watch this and you will know that you are right.
Murder, Spies, and Voting Lies: The Clint Curtis Story
https://murderspiesvotinglies.com
I use to inspect my Trump correspondence and try to get it pipelined to the campaign. In the old days I believe “the Committee to Re-elect the President” was a direct donation to the campaign. Look for something like that.
Quit being a purist, the clock is ticking down. Is that really the worst you have to comment about DeSantis? This is about survival and I will take real men where we can get them.
I don’t think it’s purist to want to make sure you’re giving $ to DeSantis rather than Ronna McDaniel. You can probably look up “DeSantis for Governor” and find a number in Tallahassee to call and ask how to send money directly.
If you live in Florida, you Know DeSantis is a Constitutional conservative. It’s by his actions that we judge him. His words are great too! I’m so grateful we have him as our Governor!
Ditto!
The RNC is using everybody, including Trump. Just donate directly to DeSantis.
Friends of Ron Desantis doesn’t appear to be going to the RNC.
A great governor, recognizing a group that has been of great benefit to south Florida. And also very eloquently, letting government know, what its priorities should be.
He also was way ahead of the curve with the beneficial monoclonal antibody therapeutic and nearly overnight had already set up numerous outpatient sites. There is no question in my mind that by doing this, he saved countless lives.
I am so glad that I live in Florida and have this man as my Gov.
Just beware Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County dems are going to try to pull out all the stops to prevent his re-election, they will use every election fraud trick known to man to do it. It sickens me to see how vile the editorial board is of the Miami Herald, they are now in full blown SOVIET pravda mode. I think they would support Gavin Newsome for governor here.
I’m worried too that there will be major cheating as they did in 2018. Remember – DeSantis barely won over Gillum (.4%). That’s why I think it’s foolish not to do a full forensic audit of the 2020 election, even though Trump won Florida. I think Trump won by a larger margin than the left would like you to believe.
Absolutely critical for Our Governor to order an audit, and to shjtcan those machines, ASAP. I recommend all Florida voters to call his office and ask him to do that, just like I did.
He seems smart enough to not go to D.C., too. No one ever comes back from there the same.
Is there a limit for terms in FL and how many?
One my two best friends on 2 legs lives there, going back 4 generations. I warned him (when he sounded excited that Desantis, whom he calls “DeSanchez” hehe, was gonna run for Pres) that just imo, the WORST thing that could happen to his state would be to let him go.
Uhh, he WAS in DC.
He was my rep for 6 years (St. Augustine area). My wife and I liked him then. Love him now.
As a Native Son of Florida, I too am stoked about his leadership.
Wish we had him in Texas over this RINO fool Abbott.
Agree that Abbott’s a RINO but definitely no fool. Sadly, he’s doing exactly what sellouts are tasked to do.
Andy Beshear, the combo of Hitler and Mr. Rogers, is my governor. There is NO comparison. Ron DeSantis is a patriot, and one day he will get my vote for president.
Trump is still my president, so I suppose Bevin is my governor.
My governor too. Loved your description of “Little Andy.” Our local radio station does a great parody of “Governor Steve” (the old man Beshear) who is absolutely clueless and calls his son that. It’s hilarious.
I gonna’ go out on a limb and say Pitbull agrees that Florida and DeSantis is The Bomb.
I read the rest of the tweets after watching the Pitbull video.
The last tweet showed a photo of Brian Deese and Susan Rice leaving Pelosi’s office…. they refused to speak to their media hoars.
(Mike Pompeo is sure going after the DemoCommies with his tweets……Not. His tweets are lame….. typical RINO.
Those who have come from families who fled Castro know that the USA is the last bastion. Celebs like Pit Bull will red pill more young people than any campaign we could come up with.
Grass roots folks, grass roots.
Great Speech!
Glad he mentioned Vocational schools.
In the 60’s there was a Public Vocational High School in my town, factory town in the NE.
Always wondered why they got rid of those. It’s a great option for people who don’t want to (waste their time and $$) going to College and are *serious* about getting started in a career.
When I taught Public High School, it was so clear that many of the kids who were floundering and wasting precious time at regular school were in their PRIME to be learning other valuable info and skills>>>> r/t sitting around twiddling their thumbs over SJW curriculum carp.
Absolutely bring back vocational option
YES. YES YES.
When I was in school, my father taught. We still had shop class back then, but it was said to be for “the less educated”, or a “near drop-out class”.
I had to learn many of those skills later- some from my dad, who regrets the loss of shop class in schools, now.
Perhaps- just perhaps, not a !!!!- what we need to do is spread what you said, around. And remind kids that it’s OK to learn a vocation, a ‘trade’. Because, electricians/plumbers/framers/brick layers et al- probably do a lot more for us than… ‘elites’, in the end.
I know! They don’t even have Shop Class anymore!
A friend of mine got a job as a “Shop Teacher” in a H.S. and when she described what it actually was I was floored. They barely had any tools in there at all.
It’s more focused on paper work stuff, graphs and computers. Just bizarre.
There’s so little (to NONE) discipline in Public Schools anymore that they probably don’t want kids around power tools.
Like art classes, schools began to charge money for the project materials. I was fortunate to attend high school before that began.
Plus they are very hard to out source.
I’m a retired pilot. They were paging me too often in Minneapolis. Couldn’t grab a bite to eat, without hearing my name on the loudspeakers. But I really enjoyed metalworking class in college. I found it relaxing.
Two words: College Communist Complex
They got rid of vocational schools because it is difficult to indoctrinate someone while you are teaching them to be self-sufficient.
This is the man who’s making Dem Voters move out of Florida.
That’s how GOOD he is!!!
Dont come to N.C.
☺
Consider CO off limits, too, if you associate as blue!!! We already have far too many former Californians coming here and purpling the neighborhood! ??
Freedom and liberty has always been the only solution (God’s way), and always will be. It yields an unprecedented quality of life if we would just get out of the way. I really miss the optimism we use to have in the Country before the Socialists threw a wet blanket over everything. Of course we’ve become spiritually much stronger (God’s gift) but people ought to be left alone to strive for both.
” Freedom and liberty has always been the only solution (God’s way), …”
Based on Biblical standards, there are many current freedoms and liberties that the God of the Bible does not approve of.
Such as?
freedom to:
support the killing black babies
use babies to produce vaxines
broadcast porn to babies
change the gender of your babies
explore with your babies about sex before they are ready
teach your babies that up is down and down is up and be emotional about it
make the babies worship false gods of so called sciences instead of the unique God that they should
…and I am just thinking about the babies
you might be a baby lost in those freedoms that has such a hard time to figure that out
Private employers in Florida are mandating that millions take the death jab or lose their jobs. Notice no politicians care about that.
Lulu, Have you checked with the state? I know there are federal mandates impacting Medicare/Medicaid facilities in Florida but what other private employers are firing people?
Some recent info below:
Governor DeSantis has threatened a $5,000 fine per violation. With 630 employees impacted in Leon County, that would amount to more than $3 million in fines.
This week, the city of Gainesville revoked its vaccine requirement for city employees after the Florida Department of Health alerted the city that it was in violation of state law.
On Friday, the Department of Health sent a letter to Leon County ordering them to “rescind its unlawful vaccine mandate” by midnight and “refrain from terminating any employees who decline to produce proof of vaccination.”
Governor DeSantis is fighting hard and he cares! I’ve even seen some recent comments from Rubio and Scott, our RINO senators fighting for Florida. I think they want to ride the DeSantis train!!
She said private employers. She’s right.
I asked Lulu “what other private employers are firing people?”
I did a quick search because other than hospitals, I haven’t seen this happening in NW Florida. Not even in our colleges. My references are of successes with fighting the city but they are helping to fight.
The private businesses can’t ask for Vax proof or they can be fined $5000 and no vax passports. We’ve had no shutdowns and have lots of job openings.
I feel he’s doing more than most… a WHOLE lot more.
Disney World by October 22. Too far from you?
Want to let Colorado borrow him for a bit? ? We have a moderate Dem governor who is definitely not the rabid power grabber that most others are apparently proving to be, but he has no intention of going against anything he’s told to do by TPTB in DC. I’m very aware of how much worse we could have it, but I won’t give one inch in compromise on my freedoms, and Gov. Polis isn’t one to respect that.
The law DeSantis signed, SB 206, EXEMPTS private employers, Lulu is correct.
He needs the state legislature to write the law to ban mandates on private (non governmental)
employers.
Just like slojo can “write” an EO mandating federal government employees must take the jab, but needs OSHA and the department of labor to write the laws mandating private sector jabs.
And as Sundance has already pointed out, they ain’t doing squat, so it was a con to give big corporations the excuse to mandate. Let the lawsuits begin. Because as my beloved maternal Grandma Gladys said “if you’ve been wronged, sue the bastards!”
Way past time folks. We need to get some conservative lawfare going and hit them all hard. PLay their game.
And remember. They don’t all own all the courts. Let’s judge shop just like they do and make their lives miserable.
I think DeSantis is trying to avoid hypocrisy. He only has authority over state employment. He can’t force private employers to mandate or to not mandate. If he did either way, there’s no difference between him and Newsom.
We claim to want to be able to make the choice ourselves whether to get jabbed or not. I think a business owner should have that right also. I absolutely don’t agree with mandating employees, but the owner is responsible and liable for the safety of the employees in the workplace.
The people have to pressure the private employers to back down from mandates. It’s not easy but if a private business owner wants to mandate the quackcine for his/her employees, then that owner must face the consequences if the employees refuse, resign, or revolt.
What I think is missing is that the private employers must be held liable for all employees injuries and deaths that result from mandated jabs.
Yes. Thank you.
This is a little late, but an employer would be violating Federal HEPPA law by firing an employee who does not disclose a health condition or record. That’s the law. Only Health Care providers have the right to look at your medical records and they can only do so with your consent.
I think you are correct. In this case however, the employer avoids the “asking” part by simply mandating the jab without asking current health status. An employee who’s already jabbed is probably going to inform the employer of that status in order to be “approved.”
Those who aren’t jabbed are likely going to reveal their “un-jabbed” status by refusing. So it’s a kind of Catch-22.
It’s why any mandate itself is illegal, but so far, the courts have been inconsistent in judging the lawsuits because precedence has been unclear.
I have noticed several familiar faces at my local Publix are no longer employed there.
Yet another missed opportunity to bring up concerns up the ‘vaccines’. Oh, well maybe next week.
Have you guys called the attorney general & told her you want a suit filed against the private companies too? Have you called DeSantis and told him what they are doing in the private business and what he is going to do about that?
There is no mask mandate in the state so how can they mandate a vaccine also? Tell them to explain that and if they can’t answer, file a lawsuit of job discrimination. Get together with other employees and start uniting. We are all scattered but as groups you can become louder and larger as people start uniting.
And as of right now, all the “vaccines” save for Comiwhatevertheycallit are still experimental, under an EUA and are not approved, still under clinical trials and have not been proven to be safe or have efficacy.
Otherwise, why do we need the booster shots?
If we had a real news media, the fact that none of the vaccines are anywhere near approved would be big news.
But propaganda media mill got propagandize and support the tyrants.
Florida is the best place to be right now. DeSantis is our last line of defense for a civil outcome. If you don’t like DeSantis or will not vote for him please move to another state.
To your point I am unsure what happens if a corporate entity HQ’d on another state requires a jab. In fact I should be learning that real soon. If they indeed require a jab and FL cannot stop it I will not take the job or the jab. Don’t care if I have to live in the woods. I have learned how to deal with disease, pests, and medical best I can.
We must resist. There has to be a big enough control group when this is all said and done. If the elites get to 80 or 90 percent, kiss it goodbye Miss American Pie we are all screwed and the trapdoor slams shut forever. This craziness over a disease with such a low kill rate better tell you there’s other agendas in play.
PS I long for the days when Alex Jones was a fear porn selling nut. But I don’t think so anymore.
“We had all better hang together or we will hang separately.” B. Franklin
I have never heard Mitch McConnel utter the word “liberty”.
Nor the bushes, nor the romneys nor the mcstains.
On the bright side, their time is dying before our eyes and a new era is being born
Yes. The new era of communism.
I moved to Florida in 1961 and have seen some good.. some bad.. given present people running DC and some blue state pols … DeSantis is the best so far IMO…like Trump he is fighting the good fight ..doesn’t back down…
????
Like Trump he’s also pro-‘vaccine’.
I don’t care what anyone says, Governor Ron DeSantis is making plans to run for President of the USA in 2024; and, I say that with 100% support and respect. His final decision on that matter likely depends on whether or not Trump will be running again in 2024; as, I do not think he would ever run against Trump. But, he IS moving forward with plans to run for the number one spot if Trump does not.
It’s still a valid assumption that Trump will run again; but, both he and DeSantis are savvy enough to realize that due to the left’s rabid hatred for Trump, he may not be available to run again. WE should also be as savvy as they are.
It’s also possible that DeSantis could be #2 on a Trump-for-president ticket; but, if Trump does run, and I hope he can and will, I’m of the opinion that DeSantis will decide to remain as Florida’s governor for another term.
Florida’s governors serve four year terms and can only serve two consecutive terms; after which, they must skip one term out of office before being elected again. They can repeat that process for as many total terms as they wish by skipping one term between each set of two terms served.
That means DeSantis could POTENTIALLY finish his current first term as governor, skip a couple of terms to run for president in 2024 and 2028 and run for governor of Florida again as a still young fifty-something year old. He COULD even alternate serving two terms as president and two terms as governor if he wishes!
If you think THAT’S wild, maybe he and Trump could agree to alternate positions; i.e., Trump could serve as governor of Florida while DeSantis is serving as president and then switch back again. That ought to satisfy Floridians who do not wish to see DeSantis leave them to run for president…
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has fallen.
New York teachers will have to get the shot, no ifs ands or buts.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10051235/Supreme-Court-denies-NYC-public-school-teachers-challenge-block-COVID-19-vaccine-mandate.html
Sounds like it was just Sotomayer who OK’d this one.
Just like Coney Barrett did for Indiana a while back.
Wonder what would happen if they took it to the full court.
So far, we’ve got TWO who we know are A-OK with Vax Mandates.
Hope a BUNCH of NYC teachers QUIT.
Why QUIT. Let them fire you. If NY continues like this, the people will be calling for Cuomo to come back.
SCJs are assigned regions where they are in charge of the preliminary look at upcoming issues..there is a list out telling which Justice has which states under their purview
The region that got Clarence Thomas is the lucky one.
Imagine the twisted thinking of anyone involved in the judiciary that accepts the exemption from the shot, then ruling that others MUST take the shot.
If it is so critical that people be forced to take medicine or lose their job, why would they accept an exemption?
I bet Sotomayor would be the first to scream “my body my choice” on abortion.
Wish he wasn’t the only Governor with the backbone to stand up to this tyranny.
For those who believe in prayer then pray for this cat. I don’t think any of can imagine the pressure he endures. Threats, bribes, payoffs, etc. DeSantis and a few others are the ones holding the line in a very corrupt and evil system. As SD has said multiple times “There are trillions at stake.” I will be the first to say that never really registered with me until 2020. I believed SD but it wasn’t until recently that it hit me square in the face.
Absolutely. The left wants to take him down and they’re working hard to do so. I fear for him and Floridians. I put nothing past the left and fear they (in an organized or not organized fashion) will actively seek to seed the state w/covid to get people sick, to keep numbers high, and to make DeSantis look bad. The left has no concern for human life and will use “any means necessary” to achieve their ends, as we’re seeing unfold now. Forget 2024, I fear they’ll find a way to make sure he’s not re-elected as governor next year. I pray for DeSantis every day.
The days of us just throwing money at politicians because they have an “R” after their name are over. Look what those fakes in the Senate did. Now the fakes in the House are gonna most likely roll. The RNC did nothing about the stolen election and I think they were in on it. Not a dime. Not one friggen dime.
I TRULY hope you’re right, Mike. More are learning, everyday.
But, then- more still swear FOXnews is THE savior of conservative values, too :/ We’ve just gotta keep pushing. Right.
Election integrity is so important. Go to defend the republic.org and watch the documentary called Murder, spies, and Election Lies- The Clint Curtis Story. They have been flipping election votes since the turn of the century with algorithms.
Leading……….
It’s what leaders do………..
And noticeably absent in our current WH.
Latin Builders Association? Now the Illegals have a Construction Lobby?? Why is my Governor doing everything BUT calling for an examination of the black box vote tabulation software? Or calling for a Statewide canvass of voters? Since the kooks in Palm Beach County created the hanging chad fiasco that got U.S. onto these damned machines to begin with, I believe we owe it to this once great Nation to be the first State to return to watermarked, serialized ballots.
I do NOT donate to WinRed! You have NO control over which candidate gets your money. I suggest to donate direct to the candidate YOU support. That’s all. NO to RINO’s
Nice Speech! No teleprompter either. The closing was all about FREEDOM!
This man is “going places”…..
Right back to the Governor’s Mansion.
