During our previous discussion on historic, predictable and purposeful food inflation, on August 13th CTH noted “BigAg has likely already made deals for increases in government welfare payments (EBT and Foodstamps, WIC etc.). BigAg lobbies congress for higher reimbursement rates so they can raise the prices of food and export domestic product to other nations. Food assistance payments increase, and BigAg benefits. In essence, BigAg takes the fed food subsidies and fattens their profit margin. Then, they payback the politicians. It’s a circle of money.“….
If you know how the game is rigged, it’s actually easy to predict the background. Today, exactly on cue, several media outlets are now reporting that Joe Biden is going to increase the amount of food stamp assistance by 25% per recipient, and expand the program.
New York Times – WASHINGTON — The Biden administration has revised the nutrition standards of the food stamp program and prompted the largest permanent increase to benefits in the program’s history, a move that will give poor people more power to fill their grocery carts but add billions of dollars to the cost of a program that feeds one in eight Americans.
Under rules to be announced on Monday and put in place in October, average benefits will rise more than 25 percent from prepandemic levels. All 42 million people in the program will receive additional aid. The move does not require congressional approval, and unlike the large pandemic-era expansions, which are starting to expire, the changes are intended to last. (read more)
This announcement is actually revealing in more ways than just the predictability of it.
♦ First, the 25% permanent increase is an admission by the Biden administration that food price inflation is here to stay. The massive scale of the increase also highlights the actual reality of how much food prices are rising. This massive and permanent increase directly undercuts the previous White House and Biden claims that inflation was “temporary”, “transitional” and likely to end soon.
However, to that point… remember, in order for leftist ideologues (Alinskly types) to continue advancing their ideological belief systems they have to pretend not to know things. They pretend not to know inflation is higher than it is, because they must continue making claims that are counter to the reality around us.
♦ Second, no massive increase for those on fixed-income social security. This does not go unnoticed and should anger everyone who is seeing their standard of living crushed by these insane Biden fiscal, monetary and economic policies.
♦ Third, now you can see the fingerprints of the background quid-pro-quo that led to the GOPe DeceptiCons agreeing to the massive “infrastructure spending bill.” I can guarantee you McConnell, Thune, Barasso, Ernst, Grassley and crew already knew this massive hike in foodstamp and SNAP assistance was coming. This was the deal that bought their votes. This is what the DeceptiCons got out of it.
Part of the lobbying in the food industry by BigAg multinationals is to advocate for the expansion of U.S. taxpayer benefits to underwrite the costs of the domestic food products they control. By lobbying DC, these multinational corporations get congress and policy-makers to expand the basis of who can use Food Stamps, EBT and SNAP benefits (state reimbursement rates). Expanding the federal subsidy for food purchases is part of the corporate profit dynamic.
With increased taxpayer subsidies, the food price controllers (BigAg Multinationals) can charge more domestically and export more of the product internationally. Taxes, via subsidies, go into their profit margins. The corporations then use a portion of those enhanced profits in contributions to the politicians. It’s a circle of money.
(Politico) – The Biden administration on Monday plans to unveil a major permanent increase to the food stamp benefits that help 42 million Americans buy groceries — a record bump up for one of the country’s largest safety net programs.
The average monthly benefits for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will be roughly 27 percent higher than they were before the pandemic, starting Oct. 1, according to an administration official. That comes out to an increase of about 40 cents per meal. (read more)
NOTE: Wheat, corn and soybeans are the foundation of the U.S. food supply. They are primarily used as ingredients in processed foods, oils, and are fed to the cattle, hogs, and poultry that supply meat and eggs for the American diet. When those grain harvests go up in price, the downstream increase in price is far reaching.
Remember, there is no such thing as a “commodity” market in the free market sense of the word. Those commodity markets are now “controlled markets“, and fully under the control of massive multinational agricultural corporations.
MAY 2021 – […] “Americans should definitely expect an eventual rise in prices later in the year,” says Moya. “The surge with grain prices should not immediately be visible at supermarkets, since retailers absorb the initial increase. (But) eventually, the margin pressure will be too big and probably at some point late in the summer, Americans will start to take notice to some increases on grocery shelves.” (more)
Many Americans are recently awake to the singular ideology that surrounds DC politics. The UniParty political fraud also applies to our political economy. However, just like the election, understanding the deception in modern economics means understanding previous false and promoted assumptions.
♦The biggest lie in modern economics, willingly spread and maintained by corporate media, is that a system of global markets still exists.
It doesn’t.
Every element of global economic trade is controlled and exploited by massive institutions, multinational banks and multinational corporations. Institutions like the World Trade Organization (WTO) and World Bank control trillions of dollars in economic activity.
Underneath that economic activity there are people who hold the reigns of power over the outcomes. These individuals and groups are the stakeholders in direct opposition to principles of America-First national economics. Collectively known as “The Big Club”.
The modern financial constructs of these entities have been established over the course of the past three decades. When you understand how they manipulate the economic system of individual nations, you begin to understand why they were so fundamentally opposed to President Trump.
In the Western World, separate from communist control perspectives (ie. China), “Global markets” are a modern myth; nothing more than a talking point meant to keep people satiated with sound bites they might find familiar. Global markets have been destroyed over the past three decades by multinational corporations who control the products formerly contained within global markets.
The same is true for “Commodities Markets”. The multinational trade and economic system, run by corporations and multinational banks, now controls the product outputs of independent nations. The free market economic system has been usurped by entities who create what is best described as ‘controlled markets’.
U.S. President Trump understood what had taken place. He used economic leverage as part of a broader national security policy; and to understand who opposed President Trump specifically because of the economic leverage he created, it becomes important to understand the objectives of the global and financial elite who run and operate the institutions. The Big Club.
Understanding how trillions of trade dollars influence geopolitical policy, we begin to understand the three-decade global financial construct they seek to retain and protect.
That is, global financial exploitation of national markets.
FOUR BASIC ELEMENTS:
♦Multinational corporations purchase controlling interests in various national outputs (harvests and raw materials), and ancillary industries, of developed industrial western nations. {example}
♦The Multinational Corporations making the purchases are underwritten by massive global financial institutions, multinational banks. (*note* in China it is the communist government underwriting the purchase)
♦The Multinational Banks and the Multinational Corporations then utilize lobbying interests to manipulate the internal political policy of the targeted nation state(s).
♦With control over the targeted national industry or interest, the multinationals then leverage export of the national asset (exfiltration) through trade agreements structured to the benefit of lesser developed nation states – where they have previously established a proactive financial footprint.
Revisiting the economic influences within the modern import/export dynamic will help conceptualize the issues at the heart of the matter. There are a myriad of interests within each trade sector that make specific explanation very challenging; however, here’s the basic outline.
For three decades economic “globalism” has advanced, quickly. Everyone accepts this statement, yet few actually stop to ask who and what are behind this – and why?
Influential people with vested financial interests in the process have sold a narrative that global manufacturing, global sourcing, and global production was the inherent way of the future. The same voices claimed the American economy was consigned to become a “service-driven economy.”
What was always missed in these discussions is that advocates selling this global-economy message have a vested financial and ideological interest in convincing the information consumer it is all just a natural outcome of economic progress.
It’s not.
It’s not natural at all. It is a process that is entirely controlled, promoted and utilized by large conglomerates, lobbyists, purchased politicians and massive financial corporations.
Again, I’ll try to retain the larger altitude perspective without falling into the traps of the esoteric weeds. I freely admit this is tough to explain and I may not be successful.
Bulletpoint #1: ♦ Multinational corporations purchase controlling interests in various national elements of developed industrial western nations.
This is perhaps the most challenging to understand. In essence, thanks specifically to the way the World Trade Organization (WTO) was established in 1995, national companies expanded their influence into multiple nations, across a myriad of industries and economic sectors (energy, agriculture, raw earth minerals, etc.). This is the basic underpinning of national companies becoming multinational corporations.
Think of these multinational corporations as global entities now powerful enough to reach into multiple nations -simultaneously- and purchase controlling interests in a single economic commodity.
A historic reference point might be the original multinational enterprise, energy via oil production. (Exxon, Mobil, BP, etc.)
However, in the modern global world, it’s not just oil; the resource and product procurement extends to virtually every possible commodity and industry. From the very visible (wheat/corn) to the obscure (small minerals, and even flowers).
Bulletpoint #2 ♦ The Multinational Corporations making the purchases are underwritten by massive global financial institutions, multinational banks.
During the past several decades, national companies merged. The largest lemon producer company in Brazil, merges with the largest lemon company in Mexico, merges with the largest lemon company in Argentina, merges with the largest lemon company in the U.S., etc. etc. National companies, formerly of one nation, become “continental” companies with control over an entire continent of nations.
…. or it could be over several continents or even the entire world market of Lemon/Widget production. These are now multinational corporations. They hold interests in specific segments (this example lemons) across a broad variety of individual nations.
National laws on Monopoly building are not the same in all nations. Most are not as structured as the U.S.A or other more developed nations (with more laws). During the acquisition phase, when encountering a highly developed nation with monopoly laws, the process of an umbrella corporation might be needed to purchase the targeted interests within a specific nation. The example of Monsanto applies here.
Bulletpoint #3 ♦The Multinational Banks and the Multinational Corporations then utilize lobbying interests to manipulate the internal political policy of the targeted nation state(s).
With control of the majority of actual lemons, the multinational corporation now holds a different set of financial values than a local farmer or national market. This is why commodities exchanges are essentially dead.
In the aggregate, the mercantile exchange is no longer a free or supply-based market; it is now a controlled market exploited by mega-sized multinational corporations.
Instead of the traditional ‘supply/demand’ equation determining prices, the corporations look to see what nations can afford what prices. The supply of the controlled product is then distributed to the country according to their ability to afford the price. This is essentially the bastardized and politicized function of the World Trade Organization (WTO). This is also how the corporations controlling WTO policy maximize profits.
Back to the lemons. A multinational corporation might hold the rights to the majority of the lemon production in Brazil, Argentina and California/Florida. The price the U.S. consumer pays for the lemons is directed by the amount of inventory (distribution) the controlling corporation allows in the U.S.
If the U.S. lemon harvest is abundant, the controlling interests will export the product to keep the U.S. consumer spending at peak or optimal price. A U.S. customer might pay $2 for a lemon, a Mexican customer might pay .50¢, and a Canadian $1.25.
The bottom line issue is the national supply (in this example ‘harvest/yield’) is not driving the national price because the supply is now controlled by massive multinational corporations.
The mistake people often make is calling this a “global commodity” process. In the modern era this “global commodity” phrase is particularly nonsense.
A true global commodity is a process of individual nations harvesting/creating a similar product and bringing that product to a global market. Individual nations each independently engaged in creating a similar product.
Under modern globalism this process no longer takes place. It’s a complete fraud. Massive multinational corporations control the majority of production inside each nation and therefore control the global product market and price. It is a controlled system.
EXAMPLE: Part of the lobbying in the food industry is to advocate for the expansion of U.S. taxpayer benefits to underwrite the costs of the domestic food products they control. By lobbying DC, these multinational corporations get congress and policy-makers to expand the basis of who can use Food Stamps, EBT and SNAP benefits (state reimbursement rates).
Expanding the federal subsidy for food purchases is part of the corporate profit dynamic.
With increased taxpayer subsidies, the food price controllers can charge more domestically and export more of the product internationally. Taxes, via subsidies, go into their profit margins. The corporations then use a portion of those enhanced profits in contributions to the politicians. It’s a circle of money.
In highly developed nations this multinational corporate process requires the corporation to purchase the domestic political process (as above) with individual nations allowing the exploitation in varying degrees. As such, the corporate lobbyists pay hundreds of millions to politicians for changes in policies and regulations; one sector, one product, or one industry at a time. These are specialized lobbyists.
It is ironic when we discuss corporate financial payments to government officials in foreign countries we call them corrupt. However, in the United States we call it lobbying, the process is exactly the same.
EXAMPLE: The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS)
CFIUS is an inter-agency committee authorized to review transactions that could result in control of a U.S. business by a foreign person (“covered transactions”), in order to determine the effect of such transactions on the national security of the United States.
CFIUS operates pursuant to section 721 of the Defense Production Act of 1950, as amended by the Foreign Investment and National Security Act of 2007 (FINSA) (section 721), and as implemented by Executive Order 11858, as amended, and regulations at 31 C.F.R. Part 800.
The CFIUS process has been the subject of significant reforms over the past several years. These include numerous improvements in internal CFIUS procedures, enactment of FINSA in July 2007, amendment of Executive Order 11858 in January 2008, revision of the CFIUS regulations in November 2008, and publication of guidance on CFIUS’s national security considerations in December 2008 (more)
Bulletpoint #4 ♦ With control over the targeted national industry or interest, the multinationals then leverage export of the national asset (exfiltration) through trade agreements structured to the benefit of lesser developed nation states – where they have previously established a proactive financial footprint.
The process of charging the U.S. consumer more for a product, that under normal national market conditions would cost less, is a process called exfiltration of wealth. This is the basic premise, the cornerstone, behind the catch-phrase ‘globalism’.
It is never discussed.
To control the market price some contracted product may even be secured and shipped with the intent to allow it to sit idle (or rot). It’s all about controlling the price and maximizing the profit equation. To gain the same $1 profit a widget multinational might have to sell 20 widgets in El-Salvador (.25¢ each), or two widgets in the U.S. ($2.50/each).
Think of the process like the historic reference of OPEC (Oil Producing Economic Countries). Only in the modern era massive corporations are playing the role of OPEC and it’s not oil being controlled, thanks to the WTO it’s almost everything.
Again, this is highlighted in the example of taxpayers subsidizing the food sector (EBT, SNAP etc.), the corporations can charge U.S. consumers more. Ex. more beef is exported, red meat prices remain high at the grocery store, but subsidized U.S. consumers can better afford the high prices.
Of course, if you are not receiving food payment assistance (middle-class) you can’t eat the steaks because you can’t afford them. (Not accidentally, it’s the same scheme in the ObamaCare healthcare system)
Agriculturally, multinational corporate Monsanto says: ‘all your harvests are belong to us‘. Contract with us, or you lose because we can control the market price of your end product. Downside is that once you sign that contract, you agree to terms that are entirely created by the financial interests of the larger corporation; not your farm.
The multinational agriculture lobby is massive. We willingly feed the world as part of the system; but you as a grocery customer pay more per unit at the grocery store because domestic supply no longer determines domestic price.
Within the agriculture community the (feed-the-world) production export factor also drives the need for labor. Labor is a cost. The multinational corps have a vested interest in low labor costs. Ergo, open border policies. (ie. willingly purchased republicans not supporting border wall etc.).
This corrupt economic manipulation/exploitation applies over multiple sectors, and even in the sub-sector of an industry like steel. China/India purchases the raw material, coking coal, then sells the finished good (rolled steel) back to the global market at a discount. Or it could be rubber, or concrete, or plastic, or frozen chicken parts etc.
The ‘America First’ Trump-Trade Doctrine upset the entire construct of this multinational export/control dynamic. Team Trump focused exclusively on bilateral trade deals, with specific trade agreements targeted toward individual nations (not national corporations).
‘America-First’ was also specific policy at a granular product level looking out for the national interests of the United States, U.S. workers, U.S. companies and U.S. consumers.
Under President Trump’s Trade positions, balanced and fair trade with strong regulatory control over national assets, exfiltration of U.S. national wealth was essentially stopped. This is why Trump had to be eliminated, by any means necessary. There were trillions at stake.
The America-First economic structure put most multinational corporations, globalists who previously took a stake-hold in the U.S. economy with intention to export the wealth, in a position of holding contracted interest of an asset they could no longer exploit.
Perhaps now people will better understand how massive multi-billion multinational corporations, and the political institutions they pay for, were/are aligned against President Trump; and they will never relent in their need to see the risk he/we represents destroyed.
Thank you again, Sundance, I always learn a little more every time you publish this thesis. Been awhile perhaps it should be on a scheduled repost maybe every 6 months?
Agreed. This is an excellent piece.
The predominant form of govt throughout human history is dictatorship … in which there are effectively 2 classes: the political elite/wealthy class and the very poor disenfranchised labor class.
The great American Experiment – free market capitalism- is the fluke of history and has been very successful at creating a prosperous middle class that improves the lives of the majority.
Those who want a return to global dictatorship are very powerful now inside the halls of power in both the US and Europe. They are committed to controlling humanity and converting the masses back to mere “units of labor” with China as the model.
Why America is EXCEPTIONAL! But some people just can’t see it. Also why the globalists despised President Trump for identifying with We the People.
Where can I get my “Don’t blame me, I voted for Trump” bumper sticker?
Better not…..you will be targeted as a violent domestic terrorist.
You’d be fortunate if your vehicle was merely keyed. /s
“the political elite/wealthy class and the very poor disenfranchised labor class.”
Explains why federal government is allowing illegal immigration and destroying the middle class.
Events unfolding is the modern equivalent of Nazi Kristallnacht. German authorities looked on while the Nazis and civilians destroyed Jewish homes, hospitals, schools and 267 synagogues and 7000 businesses.
I submit federal and state governments Covid response is worst than that night. Yellow star patch is covid passport. 1/3 of all restaurants closed, private companies enforcing illegal mandates. Private companies in collusion with government ending free speech and nulling our voice via the vote. And now being told if you speak against government you’re a domestic terrorist.
This MUST end.
General Mills is trying something different and promising. They are trying to source ingredients from farmers who are engaged in regenerative farming practices. It is an effort of have reliably good quality grain, etc. in sufficient quantity. To achieve this, they have been contracting with a group of farmer/consultants called Understanding Agriculture to educate and provide guidance to prospective suppliers who want to make the transition from conventional practices to regenerative practices on the land they farm.
Monsanto/Bayer et al must be having corporate strokes. This could put a dent in the sales of the sketchy chemicals and biotech products that are such a drag on the farmers who use them. It may also be an effort of General Mills part to avoid a class action suit over pesticide and herbicide residues in their cereals.
I am totally intrigued by regenerative agriculture. A great deal of information and many videos can be found on YouTube and at
https://understandingag.com/
Regenerative agriculture would be old fashioned farming methods that can be found in the Bible.
Yeah, but it doesn’t have a fancy name and they can’t make big bucks writing books and lecturing on it if they admit that.
On regenerative farming, it is >2x less efficient than modern farming as practiced in the US, think organic farming to the ‘extreme’; and will be causal in raising food prices far more. General Mills, also a big corp., is using this as a niche to increase prices, and, while some of their products may have some ingredients produced this way, it will give them an opportunity to raise prices all over. Read between the lines………..thank you.
Why not go to the regenerative ag consulting group’s website and look around?
https://understandingag.com/
If you are a farmer or rancher, there is a “Schedule Free Consultation” button on the upper right corner of their home page. Why not take advantage of that opportunity to ask questions and find out what they can tell you about what the experience has been for the farmer/rancher on the other end of the line? If you do, please bring back a report.
My siblings and I have some acreage here in East Texas that has recently undergone an aggressive tree thinning for timber sales. The next timber harvest should happen in about 7 years to take the big trees. We have controlled the land for 20-30 years and know that there have been no pesticides or herbicides used during that time except for what the cell tower people used around their fences. Qualifying for organic certification should be a possibility.
We now have good sunlight, bad soil, and decent rainfall that will run off the clay soil. The land needs to be put to productive use in the meantime. The best way forward that I can see is to use regenerative practices. In about a month when the weather is cooler, I’ll mow then generously broadcast daikon radish seeds immediately before a rain. If left in the ground, daikons are known to “biodrill” heavy soil and go through hardpans. When they rot, they leave soil fractures for water infiltration and provide food for the lifeforms underground. This is cheap. Using any other approach would be unrealistically expensive.
An integrative approach including ruminant animals is recommended. Livestock usually would mean having good fences and someone who tends the land and the animals. Such things are expensive. However, the white tail deer who browse our land will be welcome to forage on the radish tops and leave behind their droppings for fertilizer. Instead of struggling to put the infrastructure and domestic livestock into place, I’ll uninvite the hunters.
When I put a pencil to the paper, the input cost for taking the regenerative approach is not too scary.
I would suggest that the agribusinesses have been selling General Mills inferior products and this is their way of establishing supply chains.
when your on SS you don’t have the luxery of shopping at whole foods or buying organic. Your lucky after your med copays to eat at all……
Doesn’t General Mills use GMO’s?
General Mills is a big corp and almost certainly uses GMO’s. Seriously, what else is available in quantity at the moment? However, the Annie’s organic brand and Cascadia Farms cereal brand are both organic, non-GMOs. General Mills needs a reliable supply of agricultural commodities to keep these brands going. Here is quite a bit of info with links to more about their regenerative ag efforts.
https://www.generalmills.com/en/Responsibility/Sustainability/Regenerative-agriculture
Also, I am impressed that neither the home page of their website nor their “Responsibility” landing page has any raised Marxist fists.
And another very unsettling , informative post by Sundance … and so late at night.. Such a sad contrast to falling asleep listening to President Trumps late night 2016 rallies…Uplifting, happy, promising… It really did feel like I was being loving tucked into bed….as I would fall asleep listening sometimes..
“ Mother, mother ocean,
I have heard you call..”
Dreamboat Annie. There’s a classic. 80’s music was generally positive and upbeat. Reagan was in the White House and the country recovered from the economic doldrums of the DemocRAT Doofus President Jimmy Carter.
mmm hmm ..
a.k.a. Sundance’s song
Poor Jimmy Carter. I think he is actually a good man in his heart, just was a bumbling idiot as a leader.
Obama and Biden have bumped him from the history books as the worst president ever. Poor Jimmy is number three now, not One.
I’m far more harsh on Jimmy Carter. I voted for him, because he came across as a sincere Christian … but then … he showed his belief in “moral relativism” … wherein radical Islam has just as much legitimacy as REFORMED Christianity. And the ME has been a dumpster fire ever since.
Where’s the “moral relativism” for all the little schoolgirls in Afghanistan today? I suppose Jimmy is just fine with them being given in marriage to Taliban leadership, where the can be sexually and emotionally abused for the rest of their lives?
No, Jimmy was not a good man in his heart. He was a small, petty santimonious and arrogant man who didn’t acknowledge his limitations. He hid behind his Bible and his fake humble mien. His whole family was/is rotten and they were not peanut farmers.
When Jimmy Buffet was an artist … and not an ewwwwwwwwww … Parrot-head
hmmmmm…..we got a lot to drink about.
HEY STUPID! Not all Americans are on food stamps… yet! Why don’t you just reverse some of your bonehead policies or just call The Real President Trump for some advice?
I have zero problem with raising food stamps from 125 a month to 150 a month.
What I have a problem with is mass scale fraud where able body people receive it for years.
The truly needy like the seriously handicapped and seriously mentaly ill should get it.
Yep. But use this info as an indicator this country is being successfully targeted for global equality to Yemen
You mean like illegally coming to this country … working jobs for $cash under the table, then collecting every welfare program imaginable … because you show no income?
But you drive a pretty damn nice truck
that aptly describes my entire neighborhood currently. Once a mobile park for seniors the Hispanics now taken over. They all have 40K trucks some have 2…The woman is a maid or estate director hahahah. The man works construction under the table or different names….. Then they get welfare for the children and food stamps and tax returns you would love…………
If your on SS retirement you worked hard for that pittance you recieve and you need the help for food as meds take up a lot as you age….. There is no raise when you also have a large raise in the COLA. Raising your income from SS means your food stamp amount goes down…Get that part. Then your landlord can raise your rent based on the COLA and wait for it….medicaire raises your payments for part A and B again based on the COLA… So between SS and food stamps your raise is paltry… Mitch knows that it’s a trick…slight of hand…. The 120 a month we get from food stamps won’t break the rest of you.. We worked and paid taxes for 50 years OK….
Egad, this along with everything else this admin screws up the USA won’t last much longer.
As planned.
Before food stamps my aunt used to get gov’t food.
Every month her free food was accompanied by a recipe book that explained how to stretch that food to last the entire month.
Today’s food stamps (SNAP) are really just supposed to be in addition to spending some money on the food yourself.
With the inflation already here a 25% increase isn’t going to be enough for an honest poor person.
And now we are relying more on China for our foods!
today I read that, because of this, turkeys will be in short supply between now and the end of the year.
So much for grandma’s special holiday feasts.
I remember commodities well. There was a neighborhood of impoverished (ahem!) Black people who lived below my grandmother’s house in Bay Minette, AL in the 1970s. They’d go get their monthly commodities and my elderly, widowed grandmother living on Social Security would wait for them to return home with their food. The Black people would throw the commodities in the ditch beside my grandmother’s house. She’d wait for them to walk on by and go out and gather the food. We ate like kings. Tubes of bologna (great fried in a cast-iron skillet!), REAL butter and cheese bricks, 10lb bags of America’s finest rolled oats, bread. . . . .Those commodities fed an old lady and went a long way to helping her adult children stretch the family food budget. God bless the American farmer.
WOW ! God Blessed your grandmother and in turn, He blessed her family !
Very touching memory.
Granny’s special holiday feast = variant super spreader event
Cancel just ONE MORE Thanksgiving and Christmas to flatten the curve and slow the spread …
And 2022? The midterm election will cancel Thanksgiving and Christmas again
And 2023 … few Americans will remember those “settler” holidays and they’ll be removed from the calendar as “offensive”
food has gone crazy and folks like me on SS must be excellent shoppers and no frills.. The SS raise to the COLA also decreases your food stamp amount. It’s a wash and trick by politicians. Besides your medicaire payments also raise way up and your rent jumps along with the COLA………Retireing is a really hard if you were not lucky enough to make a lot and saved it… Medications is what wipes you out….. Many meds have 100 co payments…. Seniors are the most needy yet not included in Gavin Newsomes CA stimulous of 600………
The Federal Government is the world’s largest money-laundering operation – nothing more. It all operates the same way. Wars? Raytheon and the rest of the MIC benefits and a part of the profits get laundered back to the politicians who made it all possible. Vax jabs? Big Pharma is making record-breaking profits from the jab paid for by your tax dollars and a portion of those profits finds its way back to the politicians. Lockdowns of small businesses during the plandemic? Record profits by Amazon, Walmart, etc. who don’t have to operate by the same rules and, out of gratitude, a portion of those record profits gets sent back to the politicians. Eviction moratorium that puts small landlords out of business? Blackrock swoops in to grab distressed rental properties to expand their bulging portfolios. They thankfully give contributions back to the politicians who will guarantee legislation to make sure Blackrock can profit handsomely on their portfolio down the road and, you guessed it, send even more contributions back to the politicians. And on and on it goes. You and I are getting fleeced at every turn, but Big Business and the politicians are rolling in the dough. As they say, it’s a big club and you ain’t in it.
And seniors will receive minimal to no increase for 2022 and what increase they do receive will – as usual – be offset by increases in Medicare and part D – not to mention increases in secondary’s or Medicare Advantage plans… they eat, too – but the corps or the food stamp givers never seem to give a da*m.
I guess the C19 weapon still has some work in culling the senior herd. Biden would love to see that demo demo’d. The Beast in Chief relies on dumbed-down under 40’ers to keep him in power.
The seniors aren’t breeding scads of Demonrat voters, vile, illiterate, violent, and America-hating. The food-stamp crowd is.
White people aren’t reproducing … and we will all pay a penalty for that … soon
Probably just as well if we intend to leave them in public schools and with no moral guidance.
to a globalist the elderly are an overall DRAIN on the system…note how the Scandemic TARGETS the elderly
I still have some of my Grandma’s sugar ration tickets from WWII.. I may need them in the future.
Says to me they’re taking care of the illegals, those who don’t want to work, and offering incentives for those who might be thinking of going back to work; don’t we’ll take care of you. Communism at its finest. Guess now we’re all getting lessons in how to take over/down a country without firing a shot.
In exchange for all the free everything they get . The freeloaders become the Dems. Rentamobs that vote how they’re told and or peacefully set fire to entire towns.
So, now, 7 out of 8 shoppers will go to the grocery store and buy hamburger so the 1 out of 8 on food stamps can buy filets and/or eat out at fancy restaurants? This world truly has been turned on its head since 11/3/20. I guess the 2 1/2 months between voting day and installation day were used to create wish lists of every Socialist program/enhancement imaginable and the last 3 months have been used to ram them down our throats.
We won’t need to wait until the 2024 election, by then we will be known as The Eastern Republic of China!
42 million on food assistance???!!!! I have to ask. How many are non-citizens? Vets? YES. Elderly and disabled? YES Able-bodied people? NO. I just can’t! If I have to carefully prioritize and work at it, why can’t they? Ugh. I’ve always believed that the local church and local community are responsible, not the government.
Secondly, the only way I know how to combat BigAg and the multinationals is to buy Local food and buy bulk from local food cooperatives + grow your own + ban processed foods in the home. Processed foods (mostly GMO crops) will kill you.
Thirdly, every time I’m behind someone at a grocery store buying what I consider a non-basic food using food stamps, I can’t help but be irritated. And my heart hurts for them at the same time.
My approach doesn’t solve the big problems. But it does solve the anti-government cheese problem + food security. I don’t know what else to do.
we buy most of all our vegetables and fruits from Farmers Market, Food Trucks that come in from other States. We are learning to depend less and less on traditional grocery stores chains, especially the Walmarts, Cosco’s and Sam’s. Some things we can get as we learn to work around or do without. We are finding thousands of people are learning to do this as well and we are seeing more products being afford as this medium grows in it’s outreach. Truly a grassroots solution that’s risen up from out of the ingenuity of just regular folks.
I agree with you. The “Homesteading” movement is huge.
Speaking of, I just bought 7 more biddies–Lavender Orpingtons–just in case. I am getting so many chickens that I am running out of room. However, eggs are good for what ails you and you can always butcher a hen if you need protein and can’t seem to hit a rabbit, squirrel or deer (we have all in abundance).
If you like to garden or work on your land in any way in the summer heat, here’s a quick and easy recipe for an “electrolyte sports drink” that will save you a ton over the store-bought ones. It’s an old recipe brought over by British colonists and has been around forever. Switchel or haymaker punch:
1 quart of cold water from the tap
1/4 cup of raw apple cider vinegar with “mother”
1Tbs dark brown sugar
1Tbs unsulfured blackstrap molasses
ground ginger to taste
Mix the vinegar, sugar, molasses and ginger together and stir until all ingredients are dissolved. Put this mixture into the quart of cold water. Put in fridge. Take with you on your outdoor adventures and drink like water.
This will hydrate you better than water and the vinegar and molasses gives you electrolytes.
I’ve been using it all summer and have saved a ton over Gatorade/Powerade/etc.
THANKS !
It is all part of the same election guarantee game. Lather all of the low and middle income people in cash and dare them to vote Democrats out of office.
Fake president joe B administration is wrong program here again, for food stamps,
porpaganda need stop BS,
They have been throwing food stamp dollars at people since the pandemic started. My adult son has Cerebral Palsy and is total care. We no longer have a legal obligation to care for him (although a huge moral obligation to do so). He lives with us yet he gets social security since we are retired and he gets food stamps. He was getting over $300 a month during the first year of the pandemic and I believe it has been pared back to about $200 a month now but prepandemic he got about $60 a month. I can’t seem to spend all those dollars now since I won’t use them at my neighborhood grocery store. I use them mostly for food supplements (Ensure etc) from a local Walmart. It’s a little embarrassing to have the store help loading his food stamp purchases in a late model BMW, but I have given up fighting the idiocy. If he qualifies for it, I am taking it. But it really should be reserved for those who would go hungry.
You should be ashamed of yourself.
So an American with a disable person should be ashamed of themselves while we’re handing a much larger amount to illegals crossing our borders? People who can work but don’t want too? Did you notice the ‘we’re retired’ bit? Or are you one of those who believe retired people have money rolling in? Only if they save or invest for it? Bopbottle the money is his and he deserves to be taken care of. I use to work for DDS and let me tell you people are probably getting far more who deserve it less.
No he shouldn’t. He’s only getting back some of the years of taxes he’s paid into the corrupt system.
There are trillions at stake.
Add to all that Sundance put forth above that here in Central OK where wheat, soybeans, corn and cattle are grown on massive farms, the Chinese and Mexicans have been buying up any and all available farmland. Not to farm food, but they are putting marijuana grow houses on them.
I have been searching for a small 5 to 10 acre plot of land for over a year and there is nothing to be had that is affordable. As the farmers “retire” or die out, guess who will be buying up the land? Americans like myself can’t afford it. And the new owners aren’t raising food products.
Just the latest iteration of crisis into opportunity. The government created inflation, and now sees it as another opportunity to expand government (translation, additional crises). Call it “Cat in the Hat” Socialism. Every “solution” merely compounds the problem.
Thanks again for the heads up, you’ve been right so many times.
As always when I read this something else sticks. My last economics class was a long time ago at what was then a conservative college in Texas. We had a Reagan rally hosted by the Rifleman, Chuck Connors.
I wonder if anything close to this is being taught there today? It should be.
So much for “transitory” inflation. The economic leadership is as inept as our military leadership. Our Federal government is rotten to the very core, it’s amazing that the trains run on time….we do still have trains, right? It may be time to dissolve this union in order to escape the massive Federal government that the Founding Fathers were trying to protect us from.
So in the predictable wake of their never ending policy FUBARs, the Democrats, now somewhat acknowledging the significant impact of inflation upon food prices, jump to the rescue for a major portion of their voter base by increasing the amount of food stamp payments. And, that begs the question, what about the rest of the 260 million or so members of the population which constitute the bulk of the middle class?
SOL……Work harder, Democrats need your money.
That’s certainly the implication.
The rest are Trump supporters and are National Terrorists. They want to kill you.
Bingo. Another delineation added (vaccine and now food stamps) between the Democrat voting bloc + sheeple and MAGA supporters.
And tht 25% increase will be FOREVER. They are trying to win votes by these massive handouts.
This is why many farmers vote Democrat. Selling of votes using taxpayers money.
Re-imagine Capitalism/Build Back Better agenda is going to happen. Reparations will be paid out and there isn’t a damn thing any of us can do about any of it. Foundations and Philanthropists have all the money, they control the Government and have people seated on almost every major Corporation’s board of directors, most of which believe that Capitalism is not a good thing anymore.
Then you have this little beauty?called” The Council for Inclusive Capitalism with the Vatican”.

It doesn’t matter how much he raises food stamps if there is no food in the store.
Droughts around the world, farm land taken to build houses and other reasons it is taken out of production.
Cattle herds being reduced because of drought .
Farmers and ranchers being squeezed out with low prices by the big multinationals.
A food crisis is here. The multinationals will take care of china first.
There shall be famines, pestilence and earthquakes
bad water management in CA has nearly half the Central Valley out of meaningful ag production
Too bad about We the People.
I imagine hard working working class citizens and seniors on fixed income get an increase for food inflation too.
So the food stamp people get a 25% raise to keep up with inflation…..
What about the rest of US that work for a living and pay the food stamp peoples’s way…..
Are we going to……not only get food cost increases of 25%…..but an additional tax increase of 25% to pay for the food stamp increase….?
Thank “Pedo Joe” and the demOCrats…..!!!!
Great they’re increasing food stamps & gov’t help to those types of programs but what about people on fixed incomes, like my spouse, myself & millions of others? Or small business owners, who have seen increase in utilities, trash p/u (50+ % increase in surcharges); raw materials prices, on & on! So there’s no way to give raises or even think about any profit (lucky if you break even)! We are the people paying for all the increases in our uncontrollable gov. spending! Everything is on the backs of middle class! The uniparty doesn’t talk or care about us! They’re all to happy to destroy us & all we’ve worked so hard for!
Sundance wrote:
♦ Second, no massive increase for those on fixed-income social security. This does not go unnoticed and should anger everyone who is seeing their standard of living crushed by these insane Biden fiscal, monetary and economic policies.
I’ve read Social Security payments may go up 6% plus in 2022 due to COLA.
So with the cost of food going up does this SS gain get cancelled out. Is this what SD is referring to, or is he saying no COLA increase at all?
Excellent explanation SD of why this country is in alot of trouble. We are being taken over by the Globalists and the Globalists are increasing their vice grips on us the hard working tax paying Americans who do not want to play the Food Stamp/Disability/Unemployment compensation game. Something is going to ignite this powder keg of a situation and only God knows when. Please help us dear Jesus.
Are there solutions, alternatives,? Sounds as though we are circling the drain and it’s still raining hard.
Basic parallel points that support this article:
The number of Domestic IPO’s are on a downward trend as in 2015.
Labor Pool Participation rate among the 18-64 age groups is on a downward trend. This is especially true for skilled labor positions that are the heart of the Middle Class.
The Stocks for Market Sector elements, which produce Domestic GDP and are not large multi-nationals, are on a downward trend. Ignore the overall market tends and look at lower levels of the market sectors.
The Stocks for Market Sector elements, which produce major consumer items domestically, are on a downward trend.
We recently went to Western PA for my nephew’s wedding, and flew American Airlines. Baggage Handling Wait times are climbing past 30 minutes as Airlines do not have the ramp crews and the smaller ramp crews have to serially handle baggage. Also, there are longer waits for landed aircraft to be met at gates…same reason ramp crews that are way too small.
US Citizens being rewarded for not working with Federal Dollars and creating opening for illegal and legal immigrants to flood the US.
The college at which I work will give us a 2% raise. When considering inflation since I was hired 16 years ago, my salary is lower today than is was then. I can guarantee you that the chancellor has a much higher salary (plus benefits and other compensation). When we get 2%, he usually gets 7%, but he was coy in not telling us about his increased salary in the email that I received last week. When inflation really spikes later this year and next, that 2% raise is going to look very meager indeed.
at my university, the president got a $50k yearly housing allowance, even though there was a historic mansion he could have lived in, a $10k yearly transportation allowance, and a $300k salary and was complaining he was underpaid because his salary WAS lower relatively when compared to other university presidents
Prices up for food – but the poor get subsidies
Prices up for Energy – but the poor get subsidies from PG&E
Prices up for water – but the poor get subsidies
Prices up for rent – but evictions are suspended
Prices up for traffic tickets – but the courts suspend fines for the poor
Prices up for college – but all loans are put in forbearance
This has become the model. Inflate prices for the working people … and give it all away to those who don’t work. If you aren’t poor … you’re screwed and made to pay more and more until you can’t pay any more … and you become poor-enough for subsidies.
It’s simple. They are attempting to crash the entire system. The are just getting started.
Cloward Piven model in real time.
Guaranteed income and medical coverage is likely on the horizon as the Social Security funds that cover Social Security and Medicare are now in the red. Don’t bore me with fund reports. Tax money is send to social security to cover congressional and Executive Branch IOU’s and shortfalls left by them using the fund as a piggy bank or being used to fund related programs not in the original charter for those plans, means those funds are broke and NOT self sustaining.
Look for the Federal Government to transition Social Security and Medicare systems to becoming the Guaranteed Income and Medical Coverage. The systems already exist and already collect taxes. This would be the easiest route for the transition. It will come complete Health Insurance Companies as plan administrators offering “Advantage Care or Supplemental Plans” (as they do in other socialized medicine nations) and somehow the banks will become the conduits and administrators) for the income as they are for student loans. The tax collection systems, administration systems and even commercials with Joe Nameth are already in place.
The big decision is how high to raise taxes to cover guaranteed Income and medical Plans over the percentage now collected for Social Security and Medicare. The conundrum is that those funds collect 20-30 years worth of taxes off most citizens before paying out to the citizens paying the taxes. Even after qualifying as having paid in enough, we still pay a means tested premium with a deductible.
There are strategies, methods and techniques for taking this system down – some legal, others not. All of this returns to the same seminal issue (again): where is the resistance leadership that lays down the vision, strategy, organization and resources to overcome the vested, corrupt corp/gov’t alliances?
Must keep those on the plantation happy or they might not take part in the next election fraud.
Oh Boy a big raise for us living on our retirement SS…OK REALITY… The 25% on food stamps would be good but….At the same time they give the largest COLA increase right… That means your personal income went up. At that point SNAP reduces your amount based on that rise to your income…. So knock about half of that off……OK then your landlord raises your rent based on the COLA….Take another 25% off. Then medicaire also changes your payments (yes you pay for part A and B) and raises it from 150 a month to like 165 a month….Your left with very little of that raise as the govt takes a bunch back and your rental company takes the rest…….
Close the loop – What Republicans voted for the Hoax infrasture – Grassley leading the way, Blunt, etc.
I have to come to realize some things that give me a completely different perspective about what has happened to our American.
Seeing how Democracy was born out of a desire for freedom thus a rejection of totalitarian rule.
Those developments that lead to a Constitutional Republic could not have taken place except our founding fathers had a reverent respect for God and recognized Him as the creator.
It was our desire for freedom which led to our Constitutional form of government which in turn gave birth to a patriotic fervor, a patriotic spirit manifesting itself in love for God, Country and Family.
And you know full well this could have never happened in a Godless society. And a Godless society cannot maintain a spirit of freedom, equality and fairness for all men.
It is God who gives this to men and inspires them to seek after it. We refer to this as blessings; blessings from God.
America’s departure from God allowed for this godless society to gain control.
You can track this, for every action that God took out forefront of society was replaced with a godless agenda.
We will never see a renewal of Democracy and the Patriotic spirit until their is a spiritual revival across the nation.
Our emphasis should not be on restoring the Constitutional Republic rather we should be seeking to restore God in His rightful place.
And then perhaps God will have mercy forgive us of our negligence and may God Himself bring justice and fairness to rule once again.
I’m praying for a real man of God as opposed to some “church” leader to rise up.
A John the Baptist type who will preach righteousness, repentance and judgement to come.
All those of kindred spirit should be likeminded.
The obvious response to this obvious RAT inflation is – duh?
The “fix” is classic RAT … never fix anything … just steal more tax dollars from the workers.
The real question that braindead should be asked is: Why?
Why is there inflation?
crickets.
The regime is clearly anticipating unaffordable food and food shortages, and is making sure that the underclass and the rising brown population are taken care of, while the diminishing and disfavored white population goes hungry. This will also make a majority of Americans dependent upon the state for food, even as the regime is collapsing private real estate ownership with the eviction moratorium and will make most citizens dependent upon the state for shelter. This is Cloward and Piven on steroids, and when the economic collapse comes the regime will “have to” take everything over and rule by permanent emergency powers of the type that the plandemic was carried out to launch.
Making the peons dependent on the govt is right on schedule, maybe even ahead of it. America is over, November’s election theft was simply the final step. We’re now in the hands of an illegitimate regime. What comes next is anyone’s guess, but it’ll be bad. VERY bad.
I’ve told family members with EBT cards to stockpile long term food stuffs. Any kind in any way, create large stashes, too.
Sundance:
Wickard v Filburn ruled that a farmer setting aside a section of a crop, wheat, for his own use was unconstitutional because it interfered with interstate trade. When do you think the lobbyists will finally go after home gardens and fruit trees for this same reason?
Oh sure that’s the Answer you dumb ass Leftist, SPEND MORE MONEY.
President Trump bringing food stamp recipients to the lowest level in history must have brought abject panic to the boardrooms of these multinationals. More and more we see why he was despised by the globalists. And we just thought it was his mean tweets…..
what does do for working people?
