We saw this exact same strategy play out in Wisconsin circa 2011 when the Democrats in state legislature fled the state to avoid showing up to a legislative session. They left the state specifically to avoid state police arresting them and forcibly returning them to work. This is how Democrats operate.
In Texas the milk-carton Democrats do not have the numbers to block legislation; however, they can deny a legislative quorum by not showing up to work. The Democrats took buses to a private airport where they took private charter flights to Washington DC; all of their manipulative schemes paid for by Democrat activist groups. The cases of beer on the seats is a nice touch.
Meanwhile, Texas citizens are paying taxes to fund the salaries of officials who refuse to come to work.
Texas TRIBUNE – […] “We are now taking the fight to our nation’s Capitol,” the Democrats said in their statement. “We are living on borrowed time in Texas.”
The Democrats convened at a local plumbers union building and boarded a bus that transported them to a private airport terminal. They arrived at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport shortly after 2:30 p.m., driving straight onto the tarmac.
Lawmakers did not speak with the media before they left. Terminal staff kept reporters off the premises and on the street outside. By 3 p.m., several supporters of the legislators were gathered outside the terminal, holding signs that said, “Let my people vote,” and, “Thank you for fighting voter suppression.”
Even if Democratic lawmakers stay out of state for the next few weeks, the governor could continue to call 30-day sessions or add voting restrictions to the agenda when the Legislature takes on the redrawing of the state’s political maps later this summer. (read more)
They appear to be very proud of themselves.
Of course, Texas officials could play hardball, but they won’t.
The Texas AG could issue subpoenas post them to each office-holder for 72 hrs, then the state governor Greg Abbott could issue XO arrest warrants for non-compliance. It won’t happen because those running the state of Texas are purple, not red (it’s an open secret down there). Texas is not as conservative as people think; exactly the opposite is true… just review their conduct during COVID.
Texas is to Republican as Republican is to Mitch McConnell.
Allen West will apply maximum pressure on Abbott….
Agreed. Great wedge issue.
Go West Go !!!!!
Allen West
willshould apply maximum pressure on Abbott….We’ll have to wait and see what happens. West is an intelligent and dedicated solder and patriot. I’m just not sure about him when it comes to standing out in front of manipulative politicians and intercepting their true intentions. Sometimes he has a short fuse, and that may have led him to accumulate some issues that others could hold against him should he get too vocal.
Yeah! We suffered from outsourcing control of ERCOT to people that don’t even identify as TEXAN!
Can’t wait for all the FUN we will have when we outsource the Governor’s seat to an opportunist carpet bagger.
AKA-Abandoning your Post.
Wait a minute. Pelosi was going to open offices in Florida and California for the DC Police. I’d say it’s time for a Texas Ranger office in DC.
Yep…setting up office in Dem controlled Tampa.
Great idea, love it!
Past time.
Can the U.S. Marshalls pick them up and bring them back?
With any luck, the plane will crash.
I’d pay to see it.
No spare SAM’S or LAWS around. Heat seeker for the bloviating karens.
Or land in Antarctica
I don’t like the landing part.
Woohan

Or Cuba!
Surface-to-air salvation.
Does the governor get to replace them?
That’s what I was thinking. The governor name temporary replacements until elections. Name all Republicans.
How much actual work do these slackers do in a day?
I’m betting not much.
Worthless POS’s.
I read this stuff and I find myself not mad at Democrats but at the GOP!. They absolutely SUCK. They never play dirty like this and they get their asses handed to them ALL the time. They have no fight at all. I am an American with no party any more.
Pay attention because this exact same tactic was used by Republicans in Washington state not to long ago
Oregon Republicans pulled the same stunt no too long ago, at least not too long ago to forget, but I believe with the last 18-20 months.
They did. But now most are lapdogs to the racist conmunist democrats that rule our state.
The house and senate republicans had a chance to stand up and stop a tyrannical gun control bill from passing, but save for a few brave souls, they all folded like cheap suits.
There is no real Republican Party in Oregon. It died about 20 years ago I think. Maybe even later. Mostly a bunch of demoncrats who say they’re Republicans so they can get elected.
The big blue metro areas are the rot in this state. I hold out little hope for it’s future.
June 2019 if memory serves. I don’t believe OSP hog-tied any escapees but the Senate did institute a fine for absenteeism.
It’s happened a few times in the past in Salem, on both sides of the aisle when contentious legislation has been involved.
AFAIK, in Oregon, they have to catch them before they cross state lines, crossing is something pretty easy to do in a sparsely populated state with lots of wide open space and very few OSP to cover it.
I do pay attention and you must be talking about the cap and trade crap they tried to pass HB 2020. They came back in a WEEK because Brown ordered the state police to arrest them.. Like Sundance says that will never happen here. AND guess what, they PASSED a cap and trade bill just this MAY. Lot of good it did.
And….if the situation were reversed…the Dems in power would arrest each and every Rep representative. When will they learn?
We can only assume, the Repubs don’t use their power because they agree and support the move of the Dems.
new reps….
They do this occasionally.
Several times in the last 40 + years.
Used to call em “Killer Bees”
It never works.
Publicity stunt. Nothing more.
Murder Hornets returning to the hive.
Democrats need to be placed on the extinct list like the Dodo bird, the Passenger pigeon and the Northern White Rhinoceros.
Put up cardboard pictures of them and count, brain power is equal, so they are present. Or declare them dead and not counting to the quorum. But they hitail their butts back quick. If 25% are present that should be a sufficient quorum. Only democrats do so put up new rules to play with out them.
Someone should go to there homes while they’re in DC and “peacefully protest”.
I’m gonna point this out again:
This tactic is not just a Libtard Dem tactic.
My Oregon state Rep caucus fled the state last year in order to defeat the quorum requirements for a vote.
The issue involved taxes and fees related to Green Energies, I think.
It could also have been related to 2A infringements. Not sure, but it was fucked up legislations either way.
I only post this to inform the people here that this tactic has been used recently.
By our side.
And the responses from the the Libtards looked exactly like many of the responses here.
Reflect, and avoid being a uni party donkey.
Not interested in your point. While you stress the “they all do it” angle Texans worry over continued or increased election fraud and the theft of a great state. Oregon is now an unsalvagable sewer.
It’s cute that you think Texas is a great state, and Oregon an unsalvageable sewer.
You know Texas is the front line, and where the war is?
Oregon is big too, and there isn’t a border war here right now,
Id say Texas is worse off than Oregon.
I don’t have RINOs here, like Rubio and the worthless Governor Abbot.
My enemies are out front in the open.
And this year when they could have the difference doing it, they didn’t. I quit the Oregon GOP this last election cycle.
Dick Anderson, my district Senator sold us out. He can’t even answer emails from his constituents. He has one of his lackeys do it for him.

Sen Anderson <[email protected]>

To: You
Hi Silas and Doris,
Thank you for taking the time to share your views. Senator Anderson was as frustrated and upset as you are that we have a supermajority that runs roughshod over minority voices. It will continue to be this way until enough Oregonians are fed up and stop electing people who will attempt to strip them of their rights on Second Amendment issues, taxation issues, and much more.
If we want to change the super majority, its done at the ballot box.
A boycott at the beginning of session was impossible. Running and hiding for four months would not have solved anything, it would only delay the deluge of bad bills that await the inevitable return. Senator Anderson takes his constitutional duties very seriously and per our state constitution they have one thing to do as lawmakers and that is balance the budget. Every community impacted by wildfires is relying on them. Every business who has been locked down is relying on them.
Senator Anderson voted NO on SB 554 and led the effort during the four hours of floor debate to move the bill to the Rules committee where it would have had an automatic referral to the voters attached to the bill. Unfortunately this was defeated by the supermajority. However, Republicans, were successful in getting the emergency clause taken off SB 554. That means passionate voters like you can refer this terrible bill to the voters to strike it down. As you likely saw, a petition drive to force a statewide election and do exactly this was just filed.
Thanks-
Matt Friesen

What this little weasel forgets to mention about the referendum is the good senator’s not one of the sponsors.
The demoncrats threw our district a few million and we get more tyranny in exchange.
I despise all the bureaucrats and politicians who claim they’re conservatives.
A pox on them, their houses and their spawn
Try this approach: whereas all levels of government are incorporated, voters (customers) that these representatives are paid to “represent” (as service providers) should file suit for breach of contract – failure to provide contracted services (representation in the legislature). US CITIZENS have no constitutional rights that these weasels are bound to protect, so hit them where they live which is under corporate law.
Splendid idea. Must go on the offense, and yes, EVERY gov’t entity at every level is incorporated. They bank on us not knowing that, and acting accordingly.
Where are your masks? You grinning sweat hogs.
LOLOLOL
Classic example of democratic “leadership”. Stupid women who think they know everything (nauseatingly unattractive) and their She-men in tow.
They all look like they have been drinking.
They likely have, and their second case of beer is waiting on that bus seat.
Where are da masks?
They aren’t the peasants. They can do whatever they want. They rub our faces in it
If they have abandoned their job responsibilities, their offices should be cleaned out and their junk given away. I hope they are being fully docked pay and any per diems allowed. Seniority resorts to zero as of today! Remove committee assignments.
Yes! Punish their bad behavior, Texas authorities!
I’m really starting to HATE LIBERALS, as they have turned out to be the MOST “UN-LIKEABLE” people on EARTH!
Only just starting?
What? No masks?
The fact that they grouped up at a local plumbers union hall sucks.
LOTS of my union plumber friends think that voting for their “jobs” makes sense,
They follow the union track.
We (union plumbers) receive flyers all the time, regarding endorsements,
Union political power is abusive and criminal.
They are so happy to not do the will of the majority of people.
F the Republican Party. Even Jenna Ellis said shes leaving the party and never contributing to them again. Well Jenna welcome to reality- what took you so long? Most of us realized long ago that the RNC exists for one reason only- to insure Demonic Pedo Democrats remain the majority. That way they can make bank on voter outrage and keep those contributions flowing. Sorry the con no longer works. As far as the demonically possessed pukes on the bus- not one of them is attractive. Texas should bar those ugly pigs from returning. Make Texas beautiful again.
Jenna said on Newsmax tonight that she knows Ronna well, and that she is ONLY and ALWAYS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY…And that’s it!
Go to the homes of their families and question them. If they won’t give up where they are staying, arrest them as accessories to the dims fleeing justice.
arrest warrants do work well.
And while there, ask for proof of vaccination.
Patriot news
@Grahmptri
BREAKING : Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan, says “the House will use every available resource under the Texas Constitution and the unanimously-passed House rules to secure a quorum after Democratic lawmakers leave the state
Cont…
They look like a bunch of teenagers going on a jolly. Immature and irresponsible.
Republicans have also done this in the past in other states. It is a Uniparty thing.
Force these disgusting dems to quarantine at the legislature when they return since they flew without masks. Then they can multitask. Quaranteen, deal with legislation, sober up and lose weight.
LOLOLOL
To be fair I think Republicans have done this before as well.
In Oregon perhaps.
https://www.opb.org/article/2021/03/19/oregon-legislature-republican-no-show-committees-democrat/?outputType=amp
The difference, in my opinion, is that most likely the Republicans should have still held the majority if there wasn’t such rampant fraud there.
Taste Great
Less Filling
In my state, about 10% of the legislators are teachers. (The union gives them generous time-off compensation for their legislative work.)
As I look at the Texas persons in the photos, my profiling instincts tell me that the group comprises mainly persons who have jobs that will accommodate their taking off in the middle of the summer, i.e., teachers. I suspect their union is providing them a generous stipend during the legislative session, and for them to flee from the legislative session.
Excellent points, Macro.
And Sundance did write that Dem activist groups are footing the travel bills.
The teachers’ unions are Dem activist groups.
While not applicable… Most jobs have a no call no show policy… with many being 3 no call / no show days being grounds for dismissal. Since these absences are clearly not excused, I’d say, if they’re not back by Thursday, they have effectively quit and should be replaced in a manner that the law prescribes.
While awaiting replacement, would that lower the number required for a quorum?
….
A quick check of the Texas House and Senate Rules:
Looks like it’s up to the members present to determine if they want to compel attendance… The House requires a minimum of 16 members to compel attendance. The Senate requires a minimum of 6 members to compel attendance.
In the Senate, the main punishment appears to be loss of seniority (Rule 4.09)… although, if your entire party isn’t present, then everyone in your party has the same seniority… (haven’t looked in to what that may really impact). And not really seeing a ‘punishment’ for the House in a quick scan.
Abbott should give the POS all an ultimatum…return and do your duty to the citizens of Texas, or schedule special elections for each and every seat on the grounds of abdicating their duties!!!
Is that too much to ask GOP!!!! Damn…STAND UP FOR SOMETHING!!!!
I’m sick of the chicken shit routine!!!
are they paying D.C, taxes
There are laws concerning gifts and campaign contributions to Texas State Officials. There are also parts of those laws that equate the size of a gift, such as an airplane ticket, hotel, meals, etc. with GSA rates.
These State Officials may have just committed a felony before the State even starts with warrants to compel attendance at the Special Session of the Legislature.
Also, there are disclosure requirements for these gifts and donations.
Yes, talk to former Gov, now Senator Hickenlooper (D –COLO) about plane trips……
If they are evading their responsibility they should not be counted toward the quorum. The vote should be taken and the issue brought for declaratory judgment in chancery court.
Batman has no jurisdiction.
Just lock all of these un Americans up somewhere
Make them quarantine upon their return. Scream something about “variants!” when they complain.
No, better yet…use their vacant office spaces to house unaccompanied migrants (aka illegal aliens) or homeless until they return.
Also illegal aliens need to be taken to their homes and told it’s their new residence, go right in.
I recall an apt movie title – “Snakes On A Plane”.
Selling out Texas for a 12 pack of ‘lite’!
Someone needs to make sure that the full cost of this trip, meals, plane, hotels, and any other incidentals are included as compensation on their individual tax returns.
Wouldn’t want to have to put any of them in jail for tax evasion like that pesky TRUMP International CEO guy.
I suppose it would be too much to ask for their salaries to be put on hold, including all bennies. They do not need child care, because they aren’t working, so no credits are due there either.
Voter suppression! Voter suppression! Voter suppression!
Would be nice to see the constituents in each of those State representative’s districts start recall efforts for them playing games while they are supposed to be doing their jobs.
Yo, Abbott. Go judge shop, get the warrants, and fly state police out to DC, and arrest every single one of these clowns.
Hmm. Was private transportation arranged to allow the COVID comorbidities crew to dodge the TSA and commercial carrier Nazi mask mandate? Their constituents must be so, so proud.
Abbott needs to issue Wanted Dead or Alive posters on everyone of these filthy a Democrat’s.
Snakes on a plane.
Ha! I posted the same shortly before your post – Great minds and such 🙂
.
A bunch of truly ugly women.
https://thefederalist.com/2021/06/02/texas-gov-greg-abbott-declares-state-of-emergency-over-biden-border-crisis/
Abbot (or any other Texas repub) can’t find anything usefull to use under a state of emergency ?
I understand they are a no recall state, so voting them out seems to be the publics recourse
No, there is something else. They can not only be compelled to return but are subject to arrest… If anyone ever gets the stones to do so!
Ken Paxton, the Attorney General for Texas has the cajones. No question, just a matter of time.
We’ll see if Paxton does anything. Abbott won’t we know that, so sick of this stuff. Texas is a great state, we just need real leadership for a change. And stop with the playground antics!!
Unfortunately, Texas has become very comfortable becoming purple. We had friends who moved there recently from CA where we live — hope their dreams come to fruition, but don’t count on it.
Then we could put up a barbed wire fence all around the capital. Yeah.. Yeah..
Then we can actually jail people for not showing up to work.. Yeah.. Yeah..
Or leaving the state without the governor’s permission!
W.T.F?
NEVER let them get you so frustrated. That you help them destroy America!
I will die defending FREEDOM. Even for people i dont like!
And do a deep dive on who paid for the plane tickets, hotel, etc.
Oh wait, the republicrats would have to do that. Never mind.
Politics ain’t beanbag!
Trump endorsed Abbot already. He should rescind his offer unless Abbot follows through on the arrest.
I love you folks! I learn so much just visiting the comments section.
I just can’t agree with some of the things being said.
I LOVE FREEDOM!
But at least we can all agree.
That one of us is right.
