Jumpin’ jello molds… The supreme court of Pennsylvania has found the Philadelphia DA violated an immunity agreement with Bill Cosby and overturned his conviction saying: “it is the only remedy that comports with society’s reasonable expectations of its elected prosecutors and our criminal justice system.” The court called the arrest of Mr. Cosby “an affront to fundamental fairness, particularly when it results in a criminal prosecution that was forgone for more than a decade.”
The prior conviction of the 83-year-old Cosby was overturned and any future prosecution is barred; a substantive position from the judiciary.
PENNSYLVANIA – PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Pennsylvania’s highest court threw out Bill Cosby’s sexual assault conviction and released him from prison Wednesday in a stunning reversal of fortune for the comedian once known as “America’s Dad,” ruling that the prosecutor who brought the case was bound by his predecessor’s agreement not to charge Cosby.
Cosby, 83, had served nearly three years of a three- to 10-year sentence after being found guilty of drugging and violating Temple University sports administrator Andrea Constand at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004. He was the first celebrity tried and convicted in the #MeToo era.
The former “Cosby Show” star was arrested in 2015, when a district attorney armed with newly unsealed evidence — the comic’s damaging deposition in a lawsuit filed by Constand — brought charges against him days before the 12-year statute of limitations was about to run out. (READ MORE)
Good. I always felt his conviction was bogus.
The conviction was valid and justifiable with all the evidence. A previous Montgomery County DA made a bad deal and failed to defend an innocent woman who was assaulted and abused by Cosby. The evidence of guilt was overwhelming
I read her testimony. She was not a victim. She was a willing participant on multiple occasions.
What about the other occasions? Seems a jury agreed with her. And didn’t he admit to guilt?
I don’t know the truth.
Seems that in our society many “well-known” people are judged using a different yardstick.
bingo.
Try that with an ex wife or ex girlfriend. seriously. step aside of yourself for a moment.
THANKYOU!
Agreeing to have sexual relations with someone, does not give that someone the right to misuse your trust.
Perhaps proper behavior in human relations is something that you don’t comprehend, Big Jake.
The women:
1. Drove to his hotel.
2. Left the bar.
3. Walked through crowded lobby.
4. Got in the elevator.
6. Walked down the hall.
7. Entered his room at 2am.
8. Stayed and had drinks.
All this multiple times and didn’t SCREAM HELP POLICE ONCE????
You seem to have left out the “drugged” part. No screaming for that.
And what of the other over 30 women ?
How did the other 30 women get up to his hotel room? Did he carry them over his shoulder too?
Nope. They willingly gave up the pootie … because they wanted something out of the transaction.
Oh!? Is transaction too strong a word?
Were charges brought by the DA based on complaints filed by these so called “other over 30 women”? Why not? Were they witnesses to the acts for which the charges had been filed? So what do these “other over 30 women amount to? Ans. Hearsay
As OUR President said … certain types of women will let you grab them by the pu$$y … if it gets them next to someone rich and famous.
OUR President wasn’t wrong then, and he isn’t wrong now.
But I can see unpopular this TRUTH is to some people.
MAGA evidence.
This also reminds me of the woman that accused Mike Tyson…
Would this be evidence of the Christine Blasey Ford variety?
We believe you Anita
Right?
You’re hallucinating!
1. The main woman who accused Mr. Cosby had called him 60 times after the alleged incident.
2. What woman goes to a man’s hotel room at 2am in Las Vegas?
3. Black women didn’t know they were doing drugs!!! Really???
If we’re talking “Is he a perv” the answer is “yes.”
He raped unconscious women. Wasn’t it 35 women who came forward?
Statute of limitations prevented his being charged for those.
His fame, money, status prevented their doing anything at the time.
And how do you know he raped unconscious women?
Did I miss the rape kit evidence?
Did I miss the toxicology evidence of their drugging?
There is no “time” in Vegas. Seriously. 2am is nothing.
You are walking perilously close to the guy who says, “She had on a sexy outfit. She was looking for it.”
I’ve disregarded California Joe for the past couple of years. His posts tend to include a healthy dose of racial animus, usually against Black people.
Well, you have to admit they have a tendency to behave badly or is that my fault too? I’ve noticed that most of the defenders of ABB (Africans Behaving Badly) are Canadian where the Black population hovers around 2% mostly educated professionals. Try living in Baltimore for a few months.
The Wire wasn’t “imagined” out of nothing
Isn’t Joe defending Bill Cosby, who if I’m not mistaken is black.
Uh, Marc … did ya notice that Bill Cosby is a black man? And he is being defended by CA Joe?
Not to mention that FIFTY NINE OTHER WOMEN made allegations of abuse by Cosby.
This is a travesty.
He deserved a LONNNGGG sentence, even if it meant that he never drew another breath of freedom.
All aboard the Money Train! It’s like dragging a $100 bill through a trailer park.
You’ve succumbed to the legal “numbers theory” posited by Gloria Allred …
how many women did she claim were abused by PDJT? 12? 15? … I lost count.
Because if soooooooo many women make accusations … then it MUST be true … right?
Makes one wonder how Wilt Chamberlain managed to schtup 10,000 women as he claimed without a single complaint.
Oh goody, I’ll go make some accusations…I MUST be believed.
Just why exactly did Obama award him the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, even after these allegations were known?
Are you friggin’ high?
Seriously, think about that question for a good long while.
Robert P Smith, are you really asking that question? Good grief….
Like the conviction of Derek Chauvin, black men finally see justice in a court of law. Cosby’s conviction revealed the systemic racism in the Philadelphia criminal justice system.
Why? Because water seeks its own level.
Concur, Mr. Guzzardi. The evidence demanded conviction. Cosby was well known to be problematic in the entertainment business well prior to the sex revelations.
Hollywood sold a story about ‘America’s Dad, Dr. Huxtable.’ Sadly, all too many people bought it.
Had they looked at what was plainly before them, they might have demurred.
Cosby’s many apologists would be chagrined to learn he couldn’t care less about them or their loyalty. He’d flick they like dirt.
A pleasure to read your comments.
All I see is that Bill Cosby enjoyed sex and that he encountered many, many willing participants who suddenly decided their affair was bad … decades later … when they were told that Cosby HAD to be destroyed! Because he had strayed off the Black Democrat Plantation
Hogwash.
Mixed feelings on this one. I was a Cosby fan, and I think he was specifically targeted because of political leanings.
On the other hand, I think he did it.
And as far as people with the ‘she came back line’, I know women who were raped by their boyfriends – violently – and didn’t leave them – and were consensual with them on other occasions.
It doesn’t make it right the first time.
Women often stay with men who abuse them – bad decisions, perhaps, but it doesn’t excuse the abuse.
I guess you forgot all about PDJT saying that many, many, many, women will *ahem* trade their charms for adjacency to rich and famous people. That doesn’t make it rape … and no toxicology report was presented that PROVED drugging or unconsciousness.
Didn’t forget anything. And one doesn’t presume the other, does it?
I have mixed feelings about the whole mess. Based on the evidence we now know about, he was definitely guilty of the crimes. Which saddens me, because he was always a wholesome comic for his performances. Even remember one of the more profane comics (whose name escapes me at the moment but everybody loves him) riffing on Cosby because he was so clean.
On the other hand the prosecution was TOTALLY bogus. The evidence was sealed. Which means I SHOULDN’T be able to write that second sentence. Personally I’ve always believe he was persecuted not because he drugged and raped young women but because he had the audacity to tell you black men to “Pull your pants up!” (In his classic clean mode avoiding the f-bombs just about any of the rest of us would drop in that statement.)
He admitted it.
And she admitted she returned consensually multiple times.
Also, there is admission and there is ADMISSION. Plea bargains are an example of a circumstance where a confession may not be true but rather a pragmatic move.
Of course! She called Mr. Cosby 60 times after the alleged incident over a period of months. The women left a bar and went to a famous movie star’s hotel room at 2am and didn’t know they were going to party with sex and drugs…some multiple times!
Big Jake, just ask around.
It’s not hard to find people who had to deal with him.
I am not arguing that he shouldn’t have been released.
I realize you don’t know me, but I will state that it’s NOT rumor that Bill Cosby is a horrible person.
tlhoward –
Spot on. When his son, Ennis, was bumped off in L.A. twenty three years ago, no one in and around Palm Springs was fooled. They saw this as a warning to Cosby, who was known to have angered all the wrong people.
Those who knew him from the business said he was legendary for booking engagements in Vegas, filling three hotel floors with his entourage of mooches, hangers-on, and goons, performing a few shows out of the many contracted, then beating it out of town leaving the hotel with the bill, and the audience out a lot of money.
Dr. Huxtable, ‘America’s Dad’ was an act. The individual behind the mask was quite different, according to reports and those familiar with him.
You DO realize ALL of those same claims have been made about PDJT?
Just for the record: sex and rape are two different things.
And falsely crying rape is another thing altogether
Did you know that Longtime Oakland A’s Manager (and beloved animal rescuer) Tony LaRussa’s daughter cried rape after her St. Marys college boyfriend dumped her?
The Judge was merciless and ripped her and her family a new one … scolding them about the damage done to legitimate rape victims by false claims.
And LaRussa has totally cleaned the internets of any history of his daughter’s disgraceful conduct. But I witnessed it all in real time, as I live just a few miles from St Marys college.
hoping for a reduced sentence.
On camera he avoided the vulgar language. No where else.
Remember, he’s a performer. The guy you see when the camera is on is an act. He’s a Weinstein.
worse than weinstein.
George Carlin? Andrew Dice Clay?
Carlin.
Thanks for the prompt.
No time for for election fraud tho ….
They can do both. Just because they ignore one wrong doesn’t make it okay to ignore another.
They denied the election case based on the “Doctrine of Laches” so it makes sense they would free Cosby. They’ve now established a “System of Leches”
Election was about 2 months = Latches. The “rape” was 20 years = No Latches!
No time or standing……
Different Supreme Court. This was SCOPA. The fraud case was tossed by Roberts’ SCOTUS
The PA Court dismissed lawsuit brought by Rep. Mike Kelly , Sean Parnell , about how election law was improperly changed by Act 77 instead of changing the states constitution.
Bingo
And the SCOPA used “The Doctrine of Laches” to avoid hearing any facts of the election case.
Someone called Dial-A-Distraction
You can’t say SD didn’t warn us.
He shouldn’t have to warn us. Media narrative shifts are so predictable nowadays you can set your watch to them.
Sundancestrodamus…
I haven’t followed the details but in the current state of affairs was a little political persecution going on ?
It was pointed out on the news that Ghislane Maxwell LAwyer will be taking note as she also had
a deal not to be prosecuted and well..so maybe that is what this is about so that her secrets are kept just that.. Secret??
Wheels within wheels.
Their schemes are ever churning so even the simplest of things are therefore suspect.
^^^THIS^^^
There is a difference between Ghislane and Cosby. The lady freely continued with friendship by to calling and texting after the incident.
That just tells you how desperate these actresses, and actors, are to become famous.
Agreed. They may be shameless, but even the shameless deserve justice.
The damning fact of this case was Crosby’s own admission of the facts, which established his guilt.
The victim was awarded 3.4 million. The reason he was not prosecuted previously many years ago was because she continued to be in contact with him after the incident.
Yeah, and isn’t that a rather peculiar thing to do with a man who you say drugged and raped you? ?♂️
I guess that is why they had to bring other victims who had not previously come forward, in order to convict Cosby.
And that was also the problem with some, not all of Harvey’s victims. They continued calling and texting.
You are fully entitled to believe that every one of them were, in fact, “victims,” each of them who now virtuously stepped forward to “convict Cosby” of crimes that he had – indeed – done to each of them.
However, I do not elect to call them “victims.” Instead, I elect to call them “liars.”
And, memcij3, “without need for further commentary, we agree to disagree.”
Mr Robinson, we are in agreement.
And how many women stepped forward to accuse President Trump … ? As if the NUMBER of accusers has anything to do with “truth”
Hello? Is there any body home! LOL
Yes. I work and had to cook dinner. Family is first.
There is nothing funny (lol) when a man loses 3 years. He shouldn’t have been convicted.
[Search domain nypost.com] https://nypost.com/2010/04/01/brooklyn-state-senators-message-pull-up-your-pants/
Apr 1, 2010Bill Cosby caused a stir by blasting baggy pants,
alongside other things he considered missteps by black youths,
at an NAACP event in 2004. President Barack Obama, as a candidate, came out against ..
Bill Cosby is a Rapist , BUT as usual Hollywood protected him, until he said “pull up your Pants” to Black kids..
Bill Cosby is a
Rapist.after further research I don’t know the truth.The Media can’t be trusted .
But ,
Quaaludes” has been the word on everyone’s lips amid the investigation into Bill Cosby’s alleged spate of rapes in the 1970s and 1980s.
the party drug of the disco age — also called “ludes,” “furies,” and “disco biscuits” —
I would suggest that quaaludes have about the same affect on people as today’s very potent marijuana …
So
Shall every man who smokes a blunt with his girl be accused of “drugging” her? Ohhhhhh … that’s riiiiiight … marijuana is MEDICINE!
OK
If you give your date a joint … you’re “medicating” her before raping her. Sounds so much better
He also committed the sin of pointing out how ignorant black mother’s baby names were.
Yeah through the eyes of the Left that was unforgivable.
I’d say more than a little. Given what we now know because the sealed testimony was released the police were aware of his behavior for decades and turned a blind eye to it. Then Cosby had the termerity to tell young black males to pull their pants up and he was suddenly State Enemy #1.
Hey Hey Hey , Racism!
Philly had nothing to do with this.
This was a Montgomery County mess, from beginning to end.
The Montco court system is a total joke. I know this from direct experience. But THIS outrageous outcome comes from the SCOPA in Harrisburg
SO they are not saying he isn;t guilty.. they are just saying he had a deal that he wouldn;t be
prosecuted and they violated that deal. That is my understanding..
Yes the victim was awarded 3.4 million. The problem was that she continued to contact him after the incident. Most victims don’t continue their friendship with their abuser.
Well yea but the deal wasn’t put in writing. My take away is the previous DA’s words mattered but not Cosby’s in his civil case where he admitted to offering quaaludes to women he wanted to have sex with. I also see the Court’s opinion about fundamental fairness, fair play & decency as one sided because no way this is a consideration they gave to his victims.
It’s my opinion that Cosby was set up to testify against himself in the civil trial – where the standards of evidence are much more lax – and the prosecutors egged him on to get the biggest settlement amount they could wrangle. There never was any evidence to back up their claims, which concerned events that happened many years before. If someone drugged and raped you, why didn’t you go to the police the very next day? The behavior of these women, in my opinion, self-identify them as femme fatales.
If you study rape, you will find most of the women don’t want to come forward, especially when men are in charge.
And with results like these, it’s NO WONDER.
I’m hoping that OTHER VICTIMS are able to see him prosecuted.
Lots if them come forward for the attention, notoriety, they’re being paid to do it, and other agendas. Just ask Justice Kavénaugh and President Trump.
No one put a gun to his head to willfully admit he drugged women in order to have sex with them. It’s a mighty stretch to presume any prosecutor could get a witness to admit something like that no matter how much they try to egg him on as you say. It is a prosecutors job to be aggressive but they also know there’s a fine line they can’t cross without risking the jury becoming sympathetic towards the defendant or the judge granting objections concerning badgering, etc.
As auscitizenmom indicated most women are afraid to come forward for various reasons and has been noted for many decades. The femme fatale characteristics are not ones to shy away and would be eager to bring forth allegations rather than being fearful of negative outcomes from expressing such an experience. My guess is probably one of the main reasons women try to conceal it is due to fear of people concluding exactly what you have. The metoo movement has only made matters worse in this regard and sadly there will be true victims who will be wrongly berated because of these crazed feminists’ agenda.
We must remember, rape and sexual assault are violent criminal acts and the jury obviously felt sufficient evidence was presented of that. And as reported, his release was solely based on a procedural issue, irrelevant of the crime he was found guilty of.
Well said!
Offering! Isn’t that the key word?
He offered women quaaludes? Did he force them to take them?
Do men today force their dates to smoke a joint? Today’s marijuana is pretty equal to quaaludes.
No it’s not.
Ludes are a LOT different than weed.
My guess would be no but that still wouldn’t give him the right to assault or rape a woman regardless of such a stupid decision. Based on that type of excuse then I guess any woman with any mental deficit is fair game.
Exactly. But, his lawyers are saying this proves he is innocent.
Joe Biden’s comment when asked about the Cosby case:
Then he added…..”Goats are like mushrooms. Because if you shoot a duck, I’m scared of toasters.”
Biden also added that, “No one should be in prison if Hunter can’t be prosecuted.”
* also intoned “ And there I was in Vietnam fighting the Germans. We took a direct hit from a double latte. Mary had a little lamb because the Republicans refused to pay for her birth control or an abortion. “
Joe is very concerned with safety.
So how is it that an immunity agreement that should have prevented his incarceration in the first place was ignored by prosecutors and judges. Besides the fact they simply didn’t care and the law is meaningless.
The dynamic here was MeToo and leftist “judicial” process. Law and justice worn as a facade over leftwing politics. Not that Cosby probably isn’t a sexual predator. Just probably no different than any other Hollywood big shot.
Seems in the hierarchy of greed Me Too is losing it’s cachet.
While there is a strong element of metooism in the persecution, I think even that was more a cover for punishing him for acting too white. At the time (might still be for all I know) young black males had a habit of walking around with their pants halfway down their butts and he told them to stop acting like wild animals and pull their pants up. Can’t be teaching young black men to be civilized.
BTW: anyone seen or heard about Kevin Spacey lately?
I thought I read that he had landed a big part in a movie.
“Return to Brokeback Mountain”?
I heard that he’s been hanging out at Walmart.
Someone told him that little boys pants were half off.
They ignored the statute of limitations too. When the Bolsheviks want to get you don’t expect the facts, the law or Constitution to protect you. The shocker is Cosby is Black but his comments about Black men rendered him an open target!
Can you provide a copy of that immunity agreement?
It’s why the Pennsylvania Supreme Court released Mr. Cosby. Isn’t that enough?
What’s a sexual predator? Someone who likes sex and would knock down every attractive woman he sees? That pretty well described me in the 70’s and 80’s
And I admit to thinking about little else than girls and their outfits in HS. Does that make me a predator.
Maybe he didn’t buy the right immunity agreement.
“Jumpin’ jello molds…”
I see what you did there, Sundance. Does the former man behind bars now bring lawsuit? Or, go quietly into the junkyard?
While I don’t doubt Cosby was guilty, the AG was tasked to get Cosby’s scalp because he was bold enough to tell the truth about Black youths and Blacks in general. His words were too embarrassing for the race-pimp industry and for the divide-our-nation narrative. Cosby had to be silenced.
Should never convict solely on ‘he said/she said’ evidence.
Plus there was a non-prosecutorial agreement.
Cosby should sue.
I agree.
Gee, I haven’t heard a peep from the MeToo crowd.
I always suspected that Mr Cosby was railroaded by a “me too” gang. It just seems so far-fetched that he was such a monster and nobody he associated with had any idea.
Plus, Cosby was a BIG advocate for black people taking responsibility for their own actions, especially blaming the absentee fathers. And we know how much this thinking goes against the Marxist grain of blaming scapegoats and whining for reparations.
It just never fit that someone like Bill Cosby was some heinous sexual predator. And I guess in the end, it was never proven, was it?
The second paragraph speaks truly of Mr. Cosby’s actual violations.
He went to jail because it was proven.
He got out because Philadelphia DA violated an immunity agreement with Bill Cosby.
His sealed statements reveal that he was.
I’ve read reports that he has admitted that despite his fame, he still felt intimidated in those situations and the drugs made it easier for him to avoid that fear. Of course given what we see in reports these days that we KNOW is false, that might be smoke. But assuming it was real, it is possible that Cosby felt guilt and remorse for those actions and turned his attention to rebuilding black families as part of his atonement.
People are rarely all good or all bad. I see remorse and attempts at atonement all to infrequently. I believe they should be celebrated when they do happen as encouragement to all of us to do likewise.
The women were already in his hotel room at 2am. I don’t think they need much persuasion to hop in the sack with them!
And the woman who had dinner with Cosby and his wife and woke up later having been assaulted? Or the women on set that crew testified were barely conscious?
Please, the man is a pervert – almost a necrophiliac as he liked to assault unconscious women.
Granted. But the counter argument there is given that reality, there was even less need to rufy the women.
It’s probably not at all true that “nobody he associated with had any idea.”
First, the guy was/is a loner.
Second, his co-stars knew his temperament and knew he was, like Johnny Carson, one of, if not the biggest at the time, stars of NBC. He made NBC stockholders rich. You know how that works. (Carson a bad guy too, but not criminal).
Co-stars want to keep the checks a’comin’. Network head wants to keep his job. Stockholders like a return on their investment.
It’s always about the money.
Black privilege new unwritten law of the land. Meanwhile on the other side of the coin we’re bombarded with systemic white racism. If anyone out there has any critical thinking skills and your confused by these innuendos don’t be alarmed it’s what Marxism depends on. Confuse the sheeple (victims). The banana republic is now complete with the approval of these activist judges on board with the agenda.
Two thoughts: 1) So . . . . what did you learn in prison, Mr. Cosby?
and 2) Look! SQUIRREL!
Answer to 1. What it felt like to be drugged and raped
He’s probably way too old and in protective custody. The worst part about this is his coworkers and wife knew what he was doing and said/did nothing.
I never believed a single word of the accusations against this man. He was selected to be a celebrity that #MeToo would make an example of. He was promised that he would not be prosecuted if he said what he was told to say in a civil trial, testifying against himself. He’d been led to believe that this was a way out, at the cost of $3.4 million. Then, days before the statute of limitations expiry, he was double-crossed. When one liar failed to produce a conviction, five more were found.
I admire the fact that this man refused to undergo “treatments” which would merely serve to indicate that he really was guilty. This corrupt prosecutor now has to face that the big fish got away and that he can’t go fishing for him again.
He admitted it.
So did Gen Flynn! How did that work out?
Wow. You are truly naive. It’s tough to give up heroes or people who seemed too good to be true.
I’m not sure what Cosby admitted to under oath. I think he was drugging girls for decades.
I think it was president Reagan that banned Quaaludes.
https://time.com/3951761/bill-cosby-quaaludes-admission-oath/
Good. Women coming out of the woodwork getting on the sue for money train – disgusting.
I recall seeing his private jet at McCarren Field in 1991 . . . “Cosby’s in town . . . ” nodding toward the beautifully painted light peach with the name “Camille” painted in beautiful ladylike scrollwork . . .
“or his wife, with her friends, daughters for the weekend . . . ”
I say this because the whole world had to know that he was married and had five children (four daughters and one son – the terrible tragedy of losing his son had not happened)
and going to a man’s hotel room at two in the morning or whenever, really . . .
This was an out-and-out piling on by a prosecutor . . . whether this guy after Cosby, the prosecuting attorney after Mike Tyson, the Duke La Crosse attorney who was obviously using the case for HIS political considerations and the case of Michael Jackson being prosecuted by the Santa Barbara County attorneys.
Does anyone recall that a**hole attorney who put Mike Tyson in jail later becoming a radio personality and he had Mike Pence on his show back in 2016 . . . Mike Pence looked like a little mealy-mouse at the time, I did not know much about him but he seemed intimidated by the guy, like he did not want to get into anything controversial that might scuttle his aspirations.
The radio personality – previously attorney who put Mike Tyson in jail – also around that time alluded to the case of the poor young lady who was the “victim” and he seemed to insinuate that she was very young and vulnerable . . . listen, buddy, if she had been a MINOR I suppose you might have put away Mike Tyson for a much longer time, if not forever, but he was still promoting the great job he did in that case, defending that young girl.
About Michael Jackson – one thing that irked my Mom and me back in 2004 when they were talking about the “secret room” that Michael Jackson had – they made it sound like he had a room specially constructed for doing things to the children visiting him –
it was that Mom knew that it was a fur closet when the house was known as “Sycamore Ranch” . . . the daughter of the man came into Mom’s store one day with her little friend who was chatting about what a neat house and even mentioned the fur closet.
When they come up with BS in order to cloud the person’s reputation by characterizing one thing as something else, then I don’t think they have a real case.
Greg Garrison, the attorney who prosecuted Mike Tyson (and I said that he defended the young lady . . . I meant defending her faultless victimhood)
Mike Pence and Greg Garrison connected re the radio show –
back in April 2016, Mike Pence said he would endorse Ted Cruz –
Greg Garrison was very much against Candidate Donald J. Trump – Trump’s support of Mike Tyson was a big mark against Garrison’s book, helping the guy that he put into prison.
Just putting this here as a reminder that Mike Pence was for Ted Cruz – was he trying to keep on the good side of Greg Garrison and his listeners – he looked kind of like a scared little bunny to me (Pence)
He only got off because he’s a white man with white privilege. If he had been black, all of whom are oppressed, they would have locked him up and thrown away the key. We must riot. … . and loot.
CORRECTION It was Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor who made the deal. I know Bruce. He was overwhelmed and intimidated by the Cosby Media machine and this was before “MeToo” movement. In my view, Bruce Castor made a very bad decision in failing to prosecute what turned out to be a valid accusation.
Another soft “let’s be above this” MontCo Republican? Say it ain’t so.
Meanwhile, the entire County, save one line officer, is now held by Democrats.
… except for Commissioner Joe Gale, who they ran a splitter candidate against.
A prosecutor was overwhelmed and intimidated? Get real. Prosecutors overwhelm and intimidate innocent people into plea deals ALL the time. I know this from personal experience.
Bruce Castor made a promise to a man (and I don’t care whether it’s someone famous or rich or poor and unknown) that there would be no prosecution if he cooperated with civil cases regarding the matter. The man then gave self-incriminating depositions in those civil cases based on that promise. Bruce Castor’s promise should have been kept.

I’ll happily click if I see this on either of the Open Threads.
Really? So now the 4th of July is no longer uniquely American and is now spoken of in a covid context???
It may be epic, but I don’t think in the way you mean……
The whole Cosby case was because he was taking a stand against the moral dictates of the democrat party plantation. The media piled on. He was targeted to be destroyed. Not a new tactic by the dems and media.
You’ve got that right. Exactly. It was purely political.
They now call it “respectability politics.” That is too white. I am noticing the phrase in all of the articles the left writes.
Could well have been a political component to all of this. Cos always seemed to lean right. That probably scared some people.
I defended Cosby early-on because his prosecution seemed purely motivated by his apostasy against the Church of Liberals.
That may well have been their motivation, but his sworn deposition showed him to be a rapist and overall creepy perv.
I continue to miss quoting his many great observations about parenting and fatherhood. But even if he is now a free man, it doesn’t change what he plainly admitted doing.
Today is a good day to be a sexual predator.
Mack is only given 3 years and Cosby is out due to another example of prosecutorial incompetence.
I grew up watching Cosby back when he was a track coach and a teacher in his first Cosby Show after his stint in I Spy. I listened to his album “Wonderfulness”, until the phonograph needle almost punctured what was left of the album. I can almost recite his entire skit as a Track & Field High jumper. I loved Bill Cosby as a kid. He pissed all over that.
The man is a serial rapist.
Completely blown away by the Cosby supporters and apologists on this very board.
Oh ya, he is also a Trayvon supporting gun grabber. (I know some of you will start screaming about sources so here is one from some blogger or something.)
Yes, they are so used to “people are out to get anyone who MIGHT lean a little conservative” that they’ve gone off into the abyss.
The man is a perv. He is also NOT THE GUY THAT YOU SEE IN THOSE ROLES.
It’s called “acting” for a REASON.
And Robin Williams was NOT THE effervescent often joyous guy you saw on stage.
ACTING!
I remember how he excoriated Lisa Bonet for her acting role choices which were crap movies with lots of sex. She was hurled into the void by Cosby and kicked off her own spin-off show (Different World).
She would get the last laugh.
Bravo!
Yep, I grew up on the classic “Why is there air?” similarly grinding it into powder.
He can escape jail but not his own admissions.
Well said! I’ve been surprised by all the pro Cosby comments as well. The man admitted his guilt, what more is there?
…and Gen. Flynn’s sworn statement in open court that he was guilty???
Did the statement you claim involve Flynn making a sworn deposition in which he described – in detail – how he intentionally violated the Logan Act then intentionally lied about it to the FBI?
Yeah, no.
Also, Cosby’s deposition was made BEFORE he was even indicted, knowing that it would be sealed AND that he wouldn’t be prosecuted. It was not coerced as part of a plea deal.
Your analogy fails on multiple levels.
Stop apologizing for this creep.
Yes, Gen Flynn had to describe his crime to the judge and say that he was GUILTY under oath but, of course, we know that he wasn’t guilty!
From Wikipedia: “In a 2008 interview, Cosby mentioned Philadelphia; Atlanta; Chicago; Detroit; Oakland, California; and Springfield, Massachusetts among the cities where crime was high and young African-American men were being murdered and jailed in disproportionate numbers. Cosby stood his ground against criticism and affirmed that African-American parents were continuing to fail to inculcate proper standards of moral behavior.[100]
Cosby’s vocal social comments led to the unsealing of documents in a previous civil suit by a woman who had accused Cosby of sexual assault…
It was always political. In 2008 The Atlantic wrote of “The audacity of Bill Cosby’s black conservativism”. It was canceled culture, and it took 10 years to frame him.
‘This Is How We Lost to the White Man’ – The Atlantic
Black man points out rampant crime in the African American community and gets canceled by the democrats and their lapdog mainstream media. That’s the long and the short of it.
Hey, when you point out the truth it’s racist! LOL
any surprise here??!! he’s a minority and in todays dem run government anythung goes – murder, rape, assault, etc
Andrea Constand doesn’t look like she’d have willingly done anything with Cosby, let alone any other man.
I remember another person who got off on a “technicality.”
One Bill Ayers!
What did he say? “Guilty as sin, free as a bird. America is a great place.”
Of course Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dohrn didn’t think America is a great place. And too Obama he was “just a guy in the neighborhood.” I digress.
More crooked Pennsylvania Democrats?
I’m shocked that in Post Mueller America, there are judges who still follow the law
It is a shock, Avi!
The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania already violated the Constitution by extending the ballot deadline for the 2020 Presidential Election.
The voting laws are the sole domain of the Legislature yet the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania violated the constitutional separation of powers by usurping powers reserved only for the Legislature.
I know first hand (very well) someone that Cosby hit on when she was about 16 years old. Cosby was a predator, and rumors about him were there for years. He admitted he actually did this as well.
so why doesn’t the prosecutor have to serve 3 years for this “affront”? Tit for Tat.
If I recall correctly, the first accusations against Cosby started coming out right about the time he started speaking out against the problems with “the black community”. Single parent households, kids from half a dozen different fathers, excusing the violent, criminal mentality of many young blacks, etc, etc. Bill was starting to really slam all that, and refused to blame whites, or “systemic racism” for the problems blacks faced. It was about that time he became even more of an Uncle Tom than he previously was.
So yeah… pardon me if I never believed most of these accusations against the man.
Cosby was one of the few people (along with Walter Williams and Thomas Sowell) who was willing to tie the black poverty and incarceration rates to children growing up in fatherless homes. IIRC, Williams’ rules were:
1) Don’t have kids until you are married.
2) Don’t get married until you finish high school.
3) Finish high school.
Yup. Perhaps one of the first victims of cancel-culture.
The accusations go back to the 1960s.
Accusations yes. Prosecutions no. The prosecutions ONLY started AFTER Cosby took a public stand to hold Blacks accountable to the same moral standards as Whites.
This is what happens when prosecuting attorneys let their political ambitions get ahead of the law.
They are rewarded for the scalps they claim with zero consequence for the lives they ruin.
A guy thats wealthy and famous beyond the average persons dreams has to resort to drugging women to get a piece of ass? A quick phone call and he could have his choice of beautiful women. Thats why I always said this whole thing was a setup.
Exactly! Look at the accusations against President Trump when he was 40 years old about raping Ivana. I laughed they were so ridiculous! He could have had a hundred bimbos knocking down his hotel room door!
He is/was a man full of rage. Rape doesn’t occur without inner rage.
Furthermore, most rapists can’t get the degree of arousal they seek unless they are in total control. The drugs saw to that. The drugs also saw to it that women who actually were able to remember bits and pieces of the sexual part of the encounter would be lousy witnesses in court as their memories of the episode would likely be highly impaired by the drugs.
Someone said it above: this is the M.O of one kind of predator.
The women went to his hotel room multiple times???
Because for Cosby, it’s not about gaining the affections of beautiful women. It’s about dominating them to their injury.
This is not about sex. This is about power, control, domination, and degradation.
How many thousands of other men in HW do this hundreds times worse, and nothing happens? Cosby was someone’s target. Maybe he’ll talk about it someday.
You sound as if you are wishing it were so.
Let’s say he was someone’s target, maybe a friend of one of the women? Or one of the many people in HW that Cosby dissed.
Have you heard the expression, “It was bound to catch up with him some day?”
And, so what if he said some things that angered libs? He should be forgiven of these crimes for that?
That’s how Dems operate.
I think you’d be very surprised if you looked at police photos of rapists.
Or murderers. I mean, Ted Bundy was a good-looking guy who was charming. Why’d he do what he did when he could have had just about any woman he approached?
Can the courts overturn a corrupt elelction.
That’s a good one.
The courts don’t care.
The courts are corrupt too.
If the prosecutor broke the law, that must be set right.
We conservatives must uphold the law.
I just hope everyone remembers that Cosby, in his deal, admitted he drugged the girl and had sex with her as she was drugged.
I had just said to my cousin earlier that the cast members of his show certainly did not rise to his defense when the many women began coming forward with their stories.
Ah, but I just now heard that “Claire, ” his co-star Felicia Rashad, NOW says a “horrible injustice has been done to an innocent man.”
You had better screw on your head straight, lady. He admitted guilt.
As an aside that has nothing to do with this case, ask anyone who worked Vegas, Tahoe, Reno at the Sports Book when Cosby played their casino, what they thought of he guy. You’ll find stories that blow you away and those stories go back decades when the public still thought he was the character he portrayed on stage and on tv. He was downright mean to the employees, vulgar, hateful. To a person they all say, “Worst celeb I EVER had to deal with, a totally miserable person.”
So, why did these women willingly go to his hotel room at 2am???
What’s with you and 2 am? Huh?
And what does her going there to see him, even IF SHE THOUGHT THERE would be intimacy have ANYTHING to do with being drugged and raped?
No wonder women get angry with some men. You act as if a guy has a right to sex if a woman walks into the room……at 2 am or any other time….and that he has the right to drug her w/out her knowing she is being drugged.
You baffle me, sir.
Hey, if your teen daughter accepts an invitation to her Senior Prom, I guess she’s giving permission for all kind of things to her date since in some towns, “everyone knows kids who are still virgins lose their virginity on prom night.”
Oh PLAAAEESSE! They all knew why Cosby invited them up to his hotel room!
Once again, so what? Maybe she wanted to have a romantic evening or wild sex. So what?
If he drugged her w/out telling her he was doing it, it’s a crime.
IF he then had sex with her in her drugged state, taking away any of her agency, it’s also a crime.
End of story.
You seem to be nothing more than an apologist for violent male behavior. Guys like you always think, “It’s the woman’s fault.”
I am sure your daughter has at one time or another wanted to look attractive. Hell, she might have even accepted a date. Using your “logic,” she should have known what the guy who asked her out really wanted so if he tried anything at all, it has to have been HER fault.
Huh? The woman called him 60 times over two months. Was she asking for a date? You’re taking about adult Black women who are hanging out in bars in Las Vegas. I don’t think that taking drugs is anything new to these women or having sex with multiple men. Yes, the guy is a hound and disgusting but I would never vote guilty based on the word of 50 Black women who were looking to hit the Cosby $$$ Lottery! They will say anything.
The old Rapist should have received the Death penalty in my opinion. He destroyed Numerous young women’s lives. I have Zero tolerance for cowards like the Serial Rapist Bill Cosby.
Our courts are a Sad joke and need to be rebuilt just like our government needs replacing.
Thank you for stating the truth. The misguided supporters apparently are blind to the monster beneath the Dr. Huxtable act.
I doubt the original accusations. Like Weinstein I have very strong doubts about the accusations. I have a hard time believing that a woman going to a hotel room to party and do drugs wasn’t thinking that this was leading to sex. Cosby had recently been off narrative about black responsibly. He had been being critical of the black victim hood narrative and had promoted personal responsibility not Marxist critical race theory. He was far too respected black man to be allowed to continue to undermine the narrative.
Male is male and female is female and never do they understand the other. Esp. when sex is involved.
If you have a young daughter, say in her early to late teens, if you can talk openly with her about the intentions of a boy she lies and his intentions….nah, ask your wife.
Not according to Biden’s assistant Health Secretary.
The Cosby conviction was the result of a prosecution driven and a jury distracted by the public emotion over the “me too” movement at that time the same way the prosecution / jury were jaded by the the media’s false narratives in the Derek Chauvin debacle.
The Statue of Justice wears a blindfold over BOTH eyes for a reason.
Justice isn’t blind anymore. Not these days.
Chauvin didn’t break any laws.
I felt he was innocent until I heard that one of his accusers, who he claimed was a willing participant, was a lifetime avowed lesbian. Nice try there, Bill. That said, he is certainly no threat to anyone any longer, which is good.
Maybe she just said it and wasn’t?
And maybe if a frog had wings, he wouldn’t bump his ass every time he jumped.
Pathetic.
The all-democrat PA supreme court.
Gee, what could go wrong with a court packed like that?
The former Montgomery County DA Bruce Castor is the same Bruce Castor who was one of Trump’s defense attorneys in the second impeachment trial. And the one who did the crappy job at the beginning because the defense decided at the last minute to change the order of presentation, and Castor wasn’t really ready.
And Andrea Constand is gay, and said that’s why she would never have consented to sexual activity with Cosby.
But due process is due process, and the subsequent DA (Democrat) did infringe on Cosby’s Fifth Amendment rights after Castor’s ill-advised deal with Cosby. The deal was made with the DA’s office, and Steele was stuck with it.
Gold diggers. Period.
I never followed his case closely, but I wondered how they prove a decades old incident such as this.
And a couple years ago, I wondered if it was a political hit. I see I am not the only one.
Exactly! You were not the only one who thought this was retribution for Mr. Cosby speaking his mind about African-Americans behaving badly!
The problem was that the trial was a s**t show from the beginning. Even if you thought he was guilty, you knew he was getting railroaded.
My understanding is that the judge in the original trial actually ran for DA on the account he was going to throw Cosby into prison. Now he lost but a pal of his won later. But somehow he didn’t recuse even though it’s obvious that he would have huge biases about Cosby. With what we know now, it was this case that made me realize that if a judge recuses, it means he is getting blackmailed to do so.
And people bring up his “confession”. The problem is that the prosecution had no proof at the time and made a deal not to prosecute if he testifies in the civil case. The problem is that since he wasn’t being prosecuted he couldn’t plea the fifth and had to testify in the civil case. And the new DA used that testimony against him reneging on the deal. That’s why the court overturned the conviction. That testimony should have been inadmissible in the criminal case , which the defense tried to get struck down and the judge overruled, since it violated his constitutional rights.
Bill Cosby has so many millions of dollars he could afford the very best criminal lawyers money can buy.
If he was innocent, he had he ability to mount a ferocious defense and come out the victor, with his money “buying” him the right jury, just as OJ’s money allowed him to hire the very best people to vet the possible jury members.
But he entered into a “deal.”
Yep.. He didn’t want folks to hear the testimony of his sordid behavior.
hey, hey, hey
We watched that show when I was a kid back in the 70’s. Had a couple of his comedy albums, too.
Bill Cosby, regarding Harambe:
“I coulda tranquilized that ape.”
Good for MR Cosby,
I always think his conviction was BS,
