The supreme court has taken a knee… let me explain why it is so evident:
In a 6-3 ruling today the U.S. Supreme Court has refused to grant writ to hear the Pennsylvania election challenge cases [pdf here – begin page 25]. While the majority of media will likely celebrate this decision; and while the court has refused to hear the case(s) based on their position the issues are “moot”; there appears to be an underlying motive not being discussed.
It only takes four justices to agree to hear a case and grant a writ of certiorari. In October 2020 the issues with the Pennsylvania court overruling the Pennsylvania legislature was of such importance four justices agreed to block the lower court order. However, four months later the majority claim the arguments within the case are “moot”; & the election is over.
In essence the Roberts Court is saying they will allow any/all methods and manipulations of election law within states, and only look to the state outcome. This is very troublesome.
Why would Justice Kavanaugh reverse his position? In October the state action to supersede the Pennsylvania legislature was a hazard. In February it is moot.
While it is never a good idea to look into the background of the court for motives, one cannot easily dismiss that Roberts, Kavanaugh and Barrett may have voted against the writ because they were concerned such a decision would cause the senate to start a process of “packing the court.” Retaining the current number of justices within the court is more likely if the justices avoid triggering the consequences from the previous threat.
Justices’ Thomas, Alito and Gorsuch remained consistent with their earlier decisions to hear the cases and settle the disputes. Barrett never weighed in on the October injunction, but Kavanaugh has completely reversed his position with his denial of the writ.

I’m no expert, but I believe this effectively renders everything going forward moot. There is no standing prior election, moot after. There is no venue for a grievance of such. One must file while the infraction is being committed. It would seem the SCOTUS has created an election process no longer awarding a win to the candidate whom the most voters voted for, but to whom can print the most votes the fastest. The legislatures act to get rid of the fraud enabling election machines, mail in ballots etc, and bar local officials from acting without authority to change any election law or process.

With tears running down my face I prayed for Kavanaugh and his family. I contacted all my reps regarding the travesty I was watching come to life.. what a waste of my energy, emotion, and concern. Kavanaugh just wanted in the club, for all we know there was a guy. As for ACB, I didn’t watch her confirmations (just clips). Her liberal family additions were a tell tale sign to me where she lands on every issue. If you ever doubt that these people do not have your best interest at heart and they do not care about the constitution or laws, refer to this decision.

The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that about half of the land in Oklahoma is within a Native American reservation, a decision that will have major consequences for both past and future criminal and civil cases.
The court’s decision hinged on the question of whether the Creek reservation continued to exist after Oklahoma became a state.

There is an important 2nd Amendment case bubbling up. Duncan v. Bacerra, in the 9th Circuit of all places, a federal judge struck down CA’s ban on
highnormal capacity magazines (more than 10 rounds). However, he allowed the ban to remain in effect pending appeal. That was 2 years ago. An unconstitutional magazine ban has been allowed to remain in effect for 2 years!!! 6 months ago the 9th Circuit panel upheld the judgment of the lower court — the ban is unconstitutional! But Bacerra sought en banc review by the entire 9th Circuit, and the Circuit asked for briefing on whether en banc review should be granted. So, the twice found unconstitutional ban remains in effect for another 6 months. The briefing on whether to grant en banc review has been completed for 5 months, and still no action by the 9th Circuit.Why would they be in a hurry to do anything? The ban remains in effect so long as they delay. It is my opinion that the fix is in. They (the 9th Circuit) will hold onto the case (with the ban in effect) until they are certain that SCOTUS will not reverse them when they eventually hold the ban to be constitutional. With the current composition of the Court, that will take some unauthorized in-chambers negotiation with the justices of the, “you compromise the 2nd Amendment, or we pack the court” variety. I hope I’m wrong, but I’m not.
Like the Flynn case w/judge Sullivan, they already have the outcomes scripted out, the court knows the role they need to play and they execute. There are never any surprises, except for the audience….us.

I’ve always believed after the first round of punting, that it would take candidates in those areas with issues to seek Judicial remedy prior to the election stating the rulings that consider the issue Moot after the election. It has never been ruled on the merits.
They won’t have standing next election because this current configuration will be the status quo. The Supreme Court declined to hear the Rhode Island case in part because the changed election rules were in place since the primary. So this is it going forward it may be.

Trump did score one win on Monday — the justices refused to revive a defamation case against him brought by Stormy Daniels, the adult film star who claimed to have had an affair with Trump and received one of the hush money payments through Cohen. Daniels sued Trump after he tweeted that she was lying when she said that someone had threatened her to not talk about the affair with Trump. The 9th Circuit dismissed the case after finding Trump’s tweet was an opinion that couldn’t be the subject of a defamation claim, and Daniels asked the Supreme Court to hear the case.

Why did Justice Thomas indicate that a different ruling on PA wouldn’t (in his opinion) have changed the outcome?

In Pennsylvania, more than 58,000 ballots were counted as being returned on or before the date they were mailed out (i.e., in order to count late ballots), while another 8,000 dead voters voted in the election. But in Pennsylvania some sort of record was set: 202,000 more ballots were cast than the number of actual registered voters in the state.
Because the case as I understand it was limited to whether or not late ballots could be accepted without being approved by the legislature. It wasn’t represented that those would all be for biden.
And the number of ballots exceeding registered voters was not part of the case.
They should have heard the case, as Thomas indicated, but I also don’t believe that particular case would have changed the election.

Robert Barnes warned against her over and over last year. He said clerking for Scalia didn’t mean Barrett was conservative. He even provided past Barrett decisions that proved she was for big government and not for the “little guy”.

I said her adoption of two black kids from Haiti was a huge tell of her liberal bent. Wealthy whites who adopt black kids from third world countries are always liberal. I posted her decision to let (forgot which state now) a governor’s unconstitutional (state constitution) mask mandates stand. I and the others here were ridiculed and ignored.

Apologies to the Catholics, but my opinion is that Catholicism is a cult. When Kavanaugh and Coney-Barrett came out as being good and or devout Catholics, I had little faith in them to discern the truth. Anybody who can read the Bible and remain Catholic is beyond me. My opinion may not be a popular one, but it is mine and it has been my experience that demons like Biden cling to it. So am I surprised? Not really.

My “apology” was meant to be polite, but if the use of the word is going to be the focus of the discussion, then ignore it. Although my opinion may not involve EVERY Catholic, it is my OPINION that the Catholic faith being comfortable with limbo, purgatory, indulgences, confession of sin to a Priest, Sacraments as a path to eternal Salvation, infant baptism, abstaining from eating meat on Friday (oh, but that’s allowed now), adding to the Bible and taking way from the Bible, abstaining from marriage for Priests and Nuns and many other anti-Biblical beliefs show a lack of discernment for a Faith that claims to be founded on the Bible.
The appropriateness of this comment in a political blog is that the two practicing Catholic Supreme Court Justices are using (in my opinion) flawed judgment to put a person and party in power by ignoring election irregularities; especially when Biden and the Democrats pursue a mass murder, abortion agenda that is in direct contradiction to the very Catholic beliefs they all espouse.
I’m not attempting to debate the correctness of the Catholic faith, only noting that these SCOTUS Catholic Justices are performing the mental gymnastics that I see as a fundamental part of the Catholic belief system. The role of an administrator is not to use the very same tactics of the leftist cancel culture to shut down discussion and bulldoze dissenting opinion with truly false statements.. If anything, I would say that YOUR statement, “There is nothing in Catholicism not rooted in the Bible” is outright false at most.
If an atheist stated their opinion that God doesn’t exist, and that government should not follow any religion-based standards, I would question their opinion, but I wouldn’t attack them for having it.
