Since our laws and Constitution are now twisted and usurped to be weapons of oppression against law-abiding people, and since we see on full display before the entire nation the trial of a common citizen, whose only “crime” is representing the people who want to live free and productive lives, then why should anyone cooperate with law enforcement? 55 years ago I was showing a neighbor around my small town. We were both young lads. He had recently arrived from Yugoslavia, to live with his aunt.

Castor was a prosecutor in suburban Philly. And with time very short, and a complex defense to put together, Trump had to take what he could get. He had one team, but they broke off because of disagreements with Trump over trial strategy.
I still do not see how being a prosecutor in surburban Philly uniquely qualifies Castor to be on the team.
EVERY city across the country has current and former prosecutors.
President Trump could have picked one from any one of those towns that that didnt previously oppose him.

The lawyers in the first impeachment defense were nationally known appellate lawyers with decades of appellate courtroom experience, including many times at SCOTUS. They knew how to zero in on issues in the limited time given. They knew how to respond to opposition without losing their focus. These are acquired skills. Not every prosecutor has them or has them at this level.
Sidney Powell? Please. No. She had a good case and ran it into the ground by constantly badmouthing the judge in public. Never badmouth the judge in public. It’s like badmouthing the boss who is going to decide who gets laid off next. No matter how awful the judge is, keep the criticism on the opposing side. if she’d kept her trap shut and at least waited until after the hearing to file mandamus, she might have gotten a better DC Circuit ruling, but we’ll never know.
She’ll be lucky if she can keep her license after the Dominion libel case. If her professional liability carrier backs out on her after paying out (and yes, it will settle for an undisclosed amount), she can’t practice without that insurance.

However, I cant square why President Trump handled the budget bills had been passed on December 23 the way he did.
The President has 10 days from the date of delivery (day 1 deemed to be the day after the bills are received) to veto or sign.
Hence Day 1 was December 24.
The President COULD have held the bills and vetoed LATE on day 10 – January 2.
The House AND Senate would then have just hours to repass the bill with a veto proof majority, with 11:59 pm January 2 a hard stop as the new Congress was sworn in on January 3.
INSTEAD, the president vetoed the bill on December 26, giving the House and Senate plenty of time to re-pass the bills with a veto proof majority.
Why make unforced errors like this?
I too have questioned this and other decisions. My biggest was allowing Pence to head up the COVID team. Again, gave him the benefit of the doubt because he had information that we did not and I sincerely believe he was doing what he thought safest for our people, at that time. But why he allowed it to go on for so long, himself to be silenced on hydroxychloroquine and many other mandates is just something I cannot understand and it proved to cost him the election, the economy he brilliantly built and all of us our livelihoods, way of life and freedoms.

I assume Flynn hired them on someone’s recommendation. They were a BigLaw DC firm. Probably assumed they were one of the best in town. Eric Holder was a member of the firm at the time, which should have sent off warning lights.
Too many people assume a firm with lots of law review editors from Ivy League law schools are the best one can get. Not always. Sometimes the smaller firms with more courtroom experience really know the ins and outs better.
A client can fire a law firm if he wants, and that’s what Flynn did. I hope that he is suing the first law firm for malpractice since it completely bungled the Brady material issue,.
Flynn’s first attorneys were the same ones who did his FARA paperwork.

Trying to figure out if I need to watch anything today or not.
The Coup goes first, just as a plaintiff goes first in a civil case, or prosecutor in a criminal case.
Th defense goes second, and the emotional danger for a participant or observer is being overwhelmed by the plaintiff’s case. The plaintiff can gain points, can persuade, and can make the observer think the case is over, all is lost. It happens, a lot.
Those same emotions swing the other way during the defendant’s presentation, assuming the defendant has good facts to argue, proactively and in reply to the points the plaintiff might have made.
The wait for the defense to have the stage can be infuriating, but remembering that, and forming a rebuttal to the plaintiffs case while its being made, helps with bad emotions and thoughts which come up during the plait’s opening.
I’ve tried cases in federal courts for more over four decades.
The emotional battle is real, but can be won.

I am not watching this trial, but if the prosecution is alleging there was no election fraud, the defense MUST show that there was because this forms the basis of President Trump’s real belief that there was fraud and the basis of his first amendment right to speak out about it. Apparently, according to the Democrat conception of the impeachment power, this second impeachment can be followed ceaselessly by an infinite number of other Trump impeachments without limit. Can that really be right?? How about ten more Trump impeachments? If not, why not?
But this is only the tip of the iceberg. Every other officeholder can be tried after their terms for imagined failures of duty, improprieties, presumed corruption; in other words, the total criminalization of political differences that are framed as grievous breaches of the oath of office, and followed by future disqualification.
Senators better be keeping in mind that this wholly unconstitutional hearing will just be the very beginning of Soviet style justice if they ratify this illegitimacy.

As usual, the CIA/FBI, Jan. 6, set-up of Trump suffers from its usual glaring flaw, namely being a series of set-ups (Proud Boys, Antifa infiltration etc) that are only too-perfectly designed. Nothing that is real falls so neatly in place.

I wonder how many noticed that after the killing of Babbitt, a male officer (Antifa?) in black, riot gear points his assault rifle toward someone on the other side of the closed door, and then motions to his watch, as if to say, “Hey, we’re behind schedule!” All a frame job.

Yeah for some reason watching the unconstitutional farcical lynching of a President and the demonizing of those who had the temerity to back him doesn’t appeal to anyone with a conscience or a brain. Theatre of the absurd…but deadly serious. Kafka would be envious of these malefactors schemes.
Shunning is a perfectly legal and wonderfully effective strategy. I encourage Non Violent Civil Disobedience and Shunning. If our Senators and House Representatives will never listen to me anyway, how can this hurt them? As a kicker, I will work tirelessly to change or at least influence as many people as I can with my beliefs.
