It should come as no surprise that Bush-era Republicans are frustrated with the middle class “America First” crowd that supports President Trump and the MAGA movement. The cocktail party GOPe have always looked down their noses at the base of supporters; now they report -via Reuters- that they will abandon the Republican party.

(Reuters) – Dozens of Republicans in former President George W. Bush’s administration are leaving the party, dismayed by a failure of many elected Republicans to disown Donald Trump after his false claims of election fraud sparked a deadly storming of the U.S. Capitol last month.
These officials, some who served in the highest echelons of the Bush administration, said they had hoped that a Trump defeat would lead party leaders to move on from the former president and denounce his baseless claims that the November presidential election was stolen.
But with most Republican lawmakers sticking to Trump, these officials say they no longer recognize the party they served. Some have ended their membership, others are letting it lapse while a few are newly registered as independents, according to a dozen former Bush officials who spoke with Reuters. (read more)

What will we do…What will we do? (wringing shriveled spindly hands)
Said no one.
So how many times is Colin Powell going to tell CNN that he is not a Republican anymore?
Oh yeah, you know that’s got to be coming in future news analysis.
What a joke. I used to respect Colin Powell.
How is Colin Powell worth 50 Million one might ask.
Friend of the military industrial complex?
As long as they keep paying him to do so.
About once every two years. Whenever election time rolls around.
That is the only thing that gets him on TV, otherwise the Pravda News can give 2 shits about him. All these Rinos can join the Communists Party, but they will get eaten alive.
He never was a republican. Just another RINO.
He voted for Obama over Romney.
Well, we will just have to get in line with the elitist GOP’ers, after all the claims of election fraud/stolen election were “baseless,” it says so in the Reuters quote:-( Remember Jeff Mason, he is the WH reporter for Reuters, that ought to give you great confidence in Reuters:-(
Good one!
24 down. How many more to go? Screw them incompetent aholes. If they were any good at leading they’d take a couple of hundred with them.
What are the names of the ones leaving? We need to make sure they’re gone for good
Exactly! It’s not like they have never before promised to do something and then reneged later with excuses…..
Hold their feet to the fire….
Yep! Don’t want them getting elected under the camoflage of Independents, some of whom supported President Trump..
Bush Republicans are a bigger threat than Democrats.
My first laugh of the day.
Then again, it’s just fodder for the news: “dozens”? The numbers are “dozens.” That’s nothing. They obviously agreed, if need be, to let their names be used, as if “dozens” matters in the big picture.
It does matter in this regard: CBS, NBC, and ABC will use it on their nightly newscasts, and the news on your favorite radio station will say over and over on the hour and the half hour until tomorrow when it will be replaced by some other similar story.
I was in the car myself a few hours ago and caught the end of a conversation Rush was having with his listeners, many of whom, evidently, do not understand why it is the nation isn’t seething and ready to throw the bums out. After all, they reasoned, we all know the hoaxes the Dems ran against POTUS, the most famous of which is the many years’ long Russia hoax, and we all know how the media and the Dems corruptly covered up so much they all belong in jail.
Rush was trying to explain to them what I and others on this blog have said many times: no, the public does NOT know the Muellar investigation was a fraud and no, the public does NOT know that Trump was not guilty of anything.
Again, as many of us have pointed out, the audience of people who have HEARD of the corruption of the FBI, the DOJ, the Muellar team, etc. does NOT reach 50% of the country, not even close. The networks never covered those stories that we heard from Hannity, from Bartiromo, from Dobbs, fromm Varney, from Ingraham, from Hannity, from guests like investigative reporters John Solomon and Sara Carter. They have heard authors like Lee Smith who wrote of the coup against the President.
I think people forget that the combined behemoth audiences of ABC’s, NBC’s, and CBS’s nightly audiences make Fox’s audience at its highest point look like a dot on the sidewalk. Then, when you add on the morning audiences of shows like Today, Good Morning, America, and CBS This Morning, you understand that Fox and Friends is just another dot, an even smaller one.
Don’t forget how many times during the day the ABC News at the Top of the Hour and again at the Half Hour and News Brought to You by AP plays in a 24 hour cycle on anyone’s radio.
Rush agreed that the man on the street would know that the Russia thing was abandoned but not necessarily because Trump was innocent. The huge numbers of people get their news from the three broadcast networks never once heard an anchor or a reported say he was innocent and his enemies were the real criminals. NOT EVER. So, millions just assumed he “got away with something.”
As for Trump voters and their anguished cries of, “But 72 million people KNOW BETTER,” Rush responded, and I would agree with him, “No, votes don’t mean a lot of those people know the story at all.”
It’s true. Never believe that 50% of the country knows what people on this blog who’ve been immersed in the stories for 5 years know. It’s a big mistake.
That is why I fear what POTUS might do at this “trial.”
I think his huge rallies and yes, even the votes, cause him at time to misunderstand what American know and what they don’t know.
We are not yet at the tipping point that so many Trump lovers and watchers think we are.
It’s a game of numbers and we, at this point in time, are still very much outnumbered. We do have to find a way to reach those people who only watch the networks as those networks are the guardians of untruths.
Fantastic read TL Howard. Spot on!!!
Sorry, I meant to say that the audiences have “never heard authors like Lee Smith…”.
TL Howard- absolutely fabulous post, one of your best! Thanks very much.
This is one that I am sharing with those who will understand exactly what you’re talking about.
Half the country doesn’t care. They have long tuned out.
Thanks. We’ve still a lot of educating to do. We have to find a way to do it.
Yes…but, traditionally in the world at large, the “way to do it” is…War.
We need to get the word out. Buy paper subscription to Epoch Times and share when your done. Print these articles and share our leave in the Dr offices.
And don’t forget the post it note campaign.
How can the misinformed be reached?
Many don’t vote unless their votes are harvested or fraudulently cast. This is why the Communist Dem Urban Hell Holes will be difficult to overcome in State wide and National Elections.
80+ million voted for Trump. How did they get their news? They put fences and barb wire around DC because they outnumber us?
Exactly right. Most do NOT know what we know b/c of Sundance and CTH…. including many, many Trump voters. They just do not know.
There is a large number that don’t care. I rarely hear people talk about politics. They have totally tuned out.
Many of the uninformed will vote for any name they recognize…..always have, always will.
This is one of the more on-target analyses ever posted in the Comments. I could not find anything to nitpick.
Well done, TLH!
President Trump needs a mass communications outlet that can speak to millions. He needs to develop that ASAP before the narrative gets away from him. Of course, Bumbling Biden may buy Trump a little time with all the attention diverted to the executive orders. But Twitter-like or Facebook-fair is needed. Hope it is in the works.
Great point, and I agree with you 100%. The VAST majority of people know ZERO about Kevin Clinesmith and the embedded corruption in the FBI/DOJ/CIA. They know ZERO about the mountains of evidence of election fraud Peter Navarro and others have accumulated.
Why? Because they’ve never been told!! It is frustrating as hell to talk to some of these people and know they are not STUPID, but severely MISINFORMED!
I must say however, this fiasco with GameStop and Robinhood and Wall Street resonates with many millennials. THIS is in their wheelhouse. They adopted the Robinhood model and have had a cold blast of water shoved in their face when they see themselves and their cause getting THE SHAFT. I know first hand, I have a daughter who is following this closely and has a small piece of GME and AMC. All her friends are buzzing about it.
They see how Big Business and Big Tech are NOT allies. The second they get the chance, they crap on these kids heads. This is a wedge to be hammered on.
What he will do at his trial will help to educate the mass of uneducated voters. It is a miracle that he received 80 million votes (according to Sidney Powell) or more under these circumstances. In a way we do seem to have reached a tipping point. He won in a landslide. The trial will be aired for the world to see. He must capitalize on the opportunity. Personally, I can’t wait to watch establishment heads explode. That is some small consolation for us in the midst of this takeover.
Voters like that spend their time watching reality TV shows like the bachelor , the voice instead of informing themselves.Being spoonfed garbage is easier than learning truths.
Translation…voter will hold them accountable snd they cannot make the coin unless it goes back to the way they like it.
Buh bye.
Was Bill Barr one of them? /s
Who cares! We are legion, and they are just a cocktail party with a few friends and vol -au -vents!
We are far less than 50% of the country.
Doubtful. If we were truly minority they wouldn’t have to work so hard to suppress. Their actions tell the real story of our numbers
I am talking about less than 50% knowing about the corruption of the Elites.
TL Howard- I am not sure what you mean by we are less than 50% of the country.
I agree that much less than 50% of the country is as well informed as the readers of CTH, but I do believe that the country is split about 50/50 between MAGA supporters and the other less enlightened voters.
In fact, from what I’ve seen in the many reports, it looks like our President Trump probably got over 100 million votes while Chi Com Joe probably got less than 70 million, if that much.
The election was a colossal STEAL.
Of course the election was a colossal steal. But with over 330 million individuals living in the United States, 80 million or 100 million is way less than 50%.
https://www.worldometers.info/world-population/us-population/
We are half or over half of those who vote. But those who don’t vote are a ripe market for political thugs.
If the country really is split 50/50 between MAGA supporters and less enlightened voters…..unless the non-voting, unenlightened ones can be educated and actually become MAGA voters, that 50/50 split will always be irrelevant to election results, I think.
Both in 2016 and 2020, there were a considerable number of enthusiastically presented feature pieces in various places about “old Aunt Agnes who is 94 years old and has never voted, and is going to vote for Donald Trump this year!” Those kinds of feature things always irritate me, because it illustrates a core problem.
It’s fine to say we are 50%. But we had better come to terms with—50% of what?
50% of voters? Maybe.
50% of the population? I doubt it.
Perhaps if you study the table in the link below you can get a better feel for how significant even 80 million, much less 100 million, truly is.
https://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/statistics/data/voter-turnout-in-presidential-elections
Yes, that’s helpful.
Thanks, GB. I appreciate that.
You are more than welcome.
I believe it was stolen, yes, but I’m not willing to say it was a landslide.
What I mean by saying “we are less than 50% of the country” is that we here at the Treehouse are educated about the Russia/Muellar thing to the point of being “in the weeds” (not to Sundance’s extent, of course) whereas most of the country can’t even give you Muellar’s name.
I don’t believe the audience of the broadcast networks have any idea that a REAL coup has been attempted several times by extensive corrupt forces of the US government in conjunction with media and foreign governments and that many of their behaviors to achieve those ends were criminal as were their attempts to cover up their original crimes and I don’t believe the audiences of these 3 networks believe there was a co-ordinated plan, which was then executed, to steal the 2020 election. Why don’t they know any of this? Their news sources never reported any of those. Their news sources never offered any investigative reporting.
What those 3 broadcast networks did report was that President Trump was making claims that people were out to get him.
As a quick example, I know very well a neighbor, 85 years old, widowed, has a memory that is the equal of a person who is 60, who reads the San Francisco Chronicle from front to back every day, listens to the radio, KCBS, an all news station for a couple of hours each day as she cleans her kitchen. Her favorite local news is ABC’s KGO tv and she watches the ABC Nightly News.
I only know all this because when we talk politics she asks me, “Where in the WORLD did you get THAT from? Fox?”
I’ve told her, “Yes, as one source, but I have many, many others” and while she listens politely, she then says, “If all that were true, it would be all over the news stations and you know me, I listen to a lot of them.
Then, she always throws in, “And the Chronicle never said that either.”
It’s more than frustrating. She also says, “Yeah, and you want me to believe they spied on Trump.”
You left out whether that old lady voted for Trump or otherwise. If she didn’t, you are trying to gauge the portion who know what happened by one instance of a person who DOESN’T know…you are looking in the wrong place.
The Trump vote is definitive for whether the people know about the continuous coup d’etat; with the overwhelming flood of Trump-bashing, they wouldn’t vote for Trump if they didn’t know the truth.
Here’s the thing: Past elections show only about 130 million voters show up. If Trump got 80 million, that is over 60% of the available, real votes. And that is, while rough, a conservative estimate of his true vote; more likely, his vote was suppressed by at least the 15 million more that Biden “got” above what even Obama got (it is to laugh…). So Trump probably got 72 plus 15 million, at least, or 87 million (and I always hasten to add, maybe 100 million).
87 out of 130 million is 67% — two out of every three REAL votes. (!)
Anybody who has ANY doubt that Trump won in a landslide is deluded…
And so are the Communist Dems. A large portion of the population is totally tuned out.
YIPPEE! Now the swamp is draining itself. THE TRUMP AMERICA 1ST party. Works for this Deplorable.
Yeah . . . if only the story were true.
It’s false.
The republican party tossed Trump and his voters OUT.
This is just a lie to keep dumb people in the republican party.
Yeah, they want you to believe that all is well, keep giving the republicans money, they believe in America First now.
Ha ha ha.
Ugh.
BEST. NEWS. ALL. DAY.
Good. Tell them not to let the door hit them on the way out and not to expect our voting for them since they are part dem anyway
Lmao. Bye.
Maybe they need to consider that the election fraud was REAL. Wonder if George himself would have been elected with mail in balloting? Doubtful! Another Uniparty RINO whining because little bro didn’t win. Get a grip, please! It is time for all of you political elitists to realize that We, the People have had enough. Daddy Bush spent a lot of time on the shill with Bubba to take care of victims of hurricanes and earthquakes. How much help did those poor people really get? Optics for the Bushes from the bushes aren’t too good!
Good Riddance!! And don’t let the door hit you in the back!
Adios mofos
Simple GTFO ought to do.
Protect your children, the PEDOS are on the loose!
Please take romney, chenney and the others with you
The only reason Romney will get re-elected in Utah in 2024 is because the majority of the Democrats like him,
“The cocktail party GOPeh have …now … report -via Reuters- that they will abandon the Republican party.”
Here Trump could paraphrase Reagan, “I didn’t leave the Republican Party, The Republican Party left me.”
Go for it, Rinos. Make our day!
To the RINOs: Well…..bye!
“… Suzy DeFrancis, a veteran of the Republican Party who served in administrations including those of former presidents Richard Nixon and George W. Bush, said she voted for Biden in November…”
Sorry, Suzy but time moves on and this is no longer the party of Nixon, George Bush and Nelson Rockefeller.
I’m reasonably certain the George Herbert Walker Bush and Richard Nixon vote Democrat these days so you will have plenty of Republicans to keep you company when you when you leave the ranks.
Good. Trump owns the GOP brand now.
They can go peddle their elitist BS somewhere else.
“Don’t let the front door hit ya where the good Lord sits ya”
What?
The GOP is owned by the globalist, from the top down.
They kicked Trump out.
They kicked his voters out, too.
Bye
Goodbye so long been great to know ya. ADIOS
Smelling salts, I need smelling salts. I am prostrate with fear and grief, gag me with a spoon the limo liberals threatening the peasants again. Wait until they see the rights’ reaction when they send troops to die so the war machine can be fed.
So the trash is taking itself out. Win/Win!
Best news I have heard in a long time. They want to take themselves out? Great. Just great!
Now lets to work organizing and financing real Republicans for the next two years, beginning now. We get to sort them out. No Never-Trumpers and no snakey-mouth Pretend-Trumpers for us. The 2022 election season is about to start. This next two years will give us info on any need for a third party, too, as well as solidifying those citizen-supported states. Won’t be easy.
Best wishes to President Trump as he undergoes his second illegal impeachment attempt by the House. Illegal all the way.
Good riddance. These are all slow go democrat Trotskyites. It is time they went back to the place whence the came and be honest with the voters for a change.
I can’t say I will miss them. While people like me who had Trump’s general views before he was even a candidate, I sucked it up and supported W, McCain and Romney. They chose to try to sabotage Trump at ever turn.
This is the first piece of good news I’ve heard in a longtime. Anti-Trumper /Anti-American Kingzinger from Illinois is now trying to rebrand the GOP as the Country First party. He’s such a jerk. I hope he leaves and takes murkowski, romney (Rona included), collins and the rest of the America last rinos with him.
So will Ted Cruz leave the party?
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/01/ted-cruz-president-trump-reckless-irresponsible-not-prove-election-fraud-court-video/
Still a weasel, never a wolverine.
No one wants to hear him squawk his excuses for stabbing us all in the back. “Traitor Ted” Cruz should be primaried out, if not outright impeached by the constituency he’s supposed to be serving, and replaced with an effective “Trump agenda” patriot who won’t run up the white flag every time the enemy fires a shot over the Alamo.
The republican establishment is mad because Donald Trump tore the mask off a fraudulent election. He wasn’t “presidential” and should’ve politely conceded to the fake president.
He’s a fighter and that’s why we support him.
Too bad. Republicans need to take their ball and go home.
Good riddance.
Bushies are angry that PDT didn’t initiate any more pointless wars of waste like the Iraq war.
Can we not simply be honest about all this? It’s a class struggle. They don’t want to be in a party that has so many state college grads, so many blue collar workers, so many people who work the land, so many people who fix things, so many people…and this is what bothers them the most…so many people who do not admire them, DO NOT WANT TO BE THEM.
What’s the fun of being in the upper classes if people don’t envy you and want to BE you or at least CLOSE to you?
Every time I used to watch George Will, Bill Kristol, and Charles Krauthammer, I knew that 2 of the 3 enjoyed so much thinking that their audience wanted to BE THEM. Little did they know.
Krauthammer was too smart and too decent to think that. I miss the guy. He was able to see most of the time what others were thinking and feeling and why.
You are right again. This isn’t about race, it’s always been about class.
Will they finally come out as democrats or start their own party?
Good riddance to bad rubbish. F*** them all.
Political garbage day.
Refreshing to see the trash take its self out for a change.
Don’t let the door hit ya on the way out.
screen door slaps ass
good riddance to bad rubish
Their continued attempts to get people to believe that the election was not stolen highlights just how stupid they think the American people are. Anyone who doesn’t believe this election was stolen is stupid.
Notice they said leaving their party or registering as independents…they will now spin it to where the mad exodus futon the Republican party support their narrative rather than destroys them. Quite skilled liars and spin masters
DING DING DING DING! Exactly correct.
Oh noes!!!!! We are finished, finished I tell you. F-I-N-I-S-H-E-D
So… everyone vowing to leave the GOP (for the many good reasons) might want to stay in it a bit longer – until these losers all leave. THEN leave the party.
Get double your bang-for-the-buck in terms of sending them a message.
🙂
Buh Bye!
As far as my MAGA self goes, good riddance to any so called Republican that won’t stand with their constituents who support America First. I love sunlight, don’t you?
Since Reuters has a little problem with the truth I thought, I would help.
Dozens of Republicans in former President George W. Bush’s administration leave the party, as they fail to recognize many examples of election fraud perpetrated on the American electorate following the deadly storming of the U.S. Capitol last month led by the two Democratic organizations Antifa-BLM.
Great news. We keep the stuff and they can formalize their membership in the donkey club.
It’s amazing how accurately you can predict gay Republicans just by saying “all of them”
That’s what they’re supposed to do, and good riddance. The Bush RINOs are democrat through and through. It was Dubya that appointed Hunter to the board of Amtrack.
“We’ve got to protect our phony baloney jobs!”
(would post the Mel Brooks image here but don’t know how)
You’re welcome
I suggest that Donald J. Trump tell them to take their membership and open up a club which excludes all the folk not worthy of them.
Even Dems will love that.
I believe there is an ulterior motive to this article. The “Never-Trump-Republicans” quoted in the article announced that they were leaving BECAUSE of President Trump.
Recently many Pro-Trump Republicans started leaving the Republican Party because of The party failure to support President Trump. What better way to camouflage the exodus of Pro Trump Republicans (I’m sure there’s more than 24) and try to switch the narrative that the reason for the exodus isn’t due to Swamp Republicans.
Instead they will try to say all those leaving are because of President Trump, like the never Trumpers in this article.
anything to trick and fool we peons
That was one of my initial thoughts. I can see them saying to each other:
And these were the ones that agreed to it.
