I have started my home garden this season. How can I purify my well water to drink…install a hand pump to manually pump water. Hate it but solar panels when energy goes through the roof. I am storing food that can be kept for long periods buying now while still somewhat affortable. I hope I see some light peek thru the clouds soon cause i do not want to do any of this but I see no other options right now. I don’t even know how they will value our dollars when they go to digital. Will 1 dollar only be worth 50 cents…what will stop them? Some one please tell me I am nuts to not bother. That there is a plan. That PT will come to the rescue and be the leader we need. It will have to get ugly to get out of this mess….and it has to happen real quick.

I have read here about Don jr.’s site being data collection center.
Just curious though – what do people here mean by that? I did not go to his website so don’t know what it is about.
OTOH – if he is asking for Name, email, address, etc. how is it data collection center (don’t get me wrong – it is …. but….) if it is not used to sell your information to monetize it to third party (like G$$gle, F$, etc.). Those of us who donated money to President Trump must know how painful it was getting 10-20 text messages and numerous surveys by snail mail.

The stock market in oneday say has wiped-out nearly three-weeks of gains. There is no telling how much further the market will drop, However IMO, we are at the beginning of a Bear Market cycle.
With Bidens policies, I can’t see anything which would bring the stock market back? It could go back to pre-Trump value. Biden is reversing practically all Trumps policies. That is the Trump policies which got us the gains possible in the first-place.
Actually, I am surprised. President Trump is main street. The Democrats are wall street. Many of the companies are international and like a weakened America, low-wage labor from across the southern border. I half expected Wall Street to do fine with Biden’s American last policies. But, President Trump did say he expected it to go down and the economy to crash, and I do see him as very prescient.

GameStop stock was trading around $6 or so a few months ago. The company is not doing great so some hedge funds were shorting the stock. The simplest way to understand ‘shorting’ is that they think the stock price is going to go down so they basically sell stock they don’t own – if they sell the stock today they’ll be able to buy it back at a future time for less….therefore making a profit. However, if the stock price goes up they will lose money….and it’s potentially a limitless loss.
So the Reddit folks decided to all start buying Gamestop shares…..and when 2 million people start buying lots of a stock all at once it creates a supply and demand problem and the price goes up – in this case very quickly. The hedge funds saw the price jump from $6 per share to over $300. That means that for every share they have ‘sold short’ they are $294 in the hole because they have to buy the shares at market price that they originally sold at $6. This is known as a short squeeze.
So now the hedge funds are in a bind….their potential loss is limitless if the stock price continues to rise, so they decide to sell, suffering a massive loss.
Frankly the Reddit crowd are brilliant because they’re not doing anything illegal….this sort of thing is what hedge funds do ALL the time in collusion with the financial media….driving stock prices up and down and it’s usually the small, retail investors that lose money.

You explained it very well except this para – so they decide to sell – what happens is, since they have already “shorted” i.e. sold the stock, they now have to “buy” the stock from market. (This “sold” the stock is actually – they borrowed the stock from a lender who owned it and sold that stock and pocketed the money. But the “lender” has every right to ask for their stock back – and they do.) This is what they call “short squeeze” where the account “shorting” the stock are compelled to buy and return the stock to the lender. This in turn creates an already untenable situation of furthering the demand – supply gap and pushing the stock even higher.
Simplyfying –
A owns stock of Gamestop (GME).
B does not own GME.
B borrows it from A and sell the stock when it is trading @ $6.
If the stock goes to $3, B now buys the GME stock from market and return the GME stock to A. Thus A made a profit of $3.
Now, if the stock goes to $9. A has every right to ask B – hey fella! I want me GME back. So B will have to buy the stock from market @ $9 and return the stock to A. B has a loss of $3.
Gamestop was already a low float (i.e. number of outstanding stocks in the market) stock. With the reddit group artificially creating demand, they created short squeeze for those shorters.
For all practical purpose, I don’t think they would have been successful if Gamestop had billion share floating in the market.

Fangdog, I echo your sentiment. There was a period of exuberant stock buying across the board, but realistically what is there to be optimistic about in Biden’s America Last economy? The only thing I can think of that will kick it up a notch for a few days is announcing there giving away more helicopter money, but that won’t last. Biden is wiping out whole industries on a daily basis with a stroke of his hard to put back in his pocket pen.

A nearly dead company like GameStop (their stores are closing everywhere) suddenly sees a “parabolic rise” in its stock for absolutely no reason…except that certain hedge funds run by The Globalists bet heavily on its survival and so have bid the stock up.
Apparently a group of day-traders who have “Shorted” the stock – and moribund others like it – came close to cashing in today, until the stocks involved were pushed upward by….well, guess who?
The Biden Globalist/Deep State does not like it, when their patrons lose money. The Biden SEC put out a warning to the day-traders, particularly a Reddit group called “WallStreetBets.”
Here is the response from WallStreetBets (minus the obscenities):
“Just read a New York Times article saying the SEC is reviewing this (group) and what is going on…
To the SEC retards:…(Obscenity) Why don’t you start investigating why companies shut down trading so their hedge fund buddies don’t lose money? But when (regular) people lose money, it’s completely ok. (Obscenity) ”

Fat cats want their monopoly. Wallstreetbets showed to the world all are rigged from election to stock markets.
The hedge funds shorted it, the Reddit geeks (regular folks like us) drove up the price and took the hedge funds for billions.
The Biden administration is completely lost looking like fools because they don’t understand or their donors want their money back.
The call now is for government regulations so the little guy can’t burn walk street again.
Algorithm based trading uses computers to make thousands of trades a day on minute changes in stock prices or currency values. These multiple trades make small gains in each transaction but add up to big money.
These algorithms do not use fundamentals of the company or the currency to determine trades, they use volume and direction indicators.
This is why people are scratching their heads about the markets.
Retail investors are up against a true monster.
That the reddit kids could muster forces in such a way as to beat a hedge fund, should give us hope.
Remember, our Congress critters can use insider information for their benefit. Remember also that fauxbook, twatter, and goolish, collude to maintain their monopolies.
Any effort to curtail retail traders from sharing information should be seen as not only hypocritical, but down right dangerous.

I find it difficult to believe that Reddit can trade/control $12 B of stock. The only force they can summon is money. I do think it re-exposed “naked shorts” but I dont think melvin Capital was short the stock per se just using options.

Got in the action late on a couple other stocks that were doing the same thing today. Then trading platforms started shutting down certain trades, Reddit locked down that subreddit and discord banned them. Little people may have broken some of the big guys, and it’s out in the open now the system is rigged for the house and their friends.
The reddit people are resourceful. They will come together on-line again.
