That was NOT a Trump rally last Wednesday. At a Trump rally everyone who gets in gets scrutinized and eyeballed. And if by some chance a few ringers would get in, the crowd helped usher them out. Last Wednesday was a demonstration, not a rally, and there is no way in the world Trump should have shown up at the elipse. He should not have even been in town for that demonstration. Should have been in Florida.
The crowd at the elipse? No one knew who the hell was there. No one knew who the hell was up at the Capitol even before Trump finished speaking. No one was in control of that situation, and Trump’s people let him walk right into it. People close to him should have sniffed out the con and warned him away.
You gotta hand it to them. They played Trump like a rube. They baited the trap with flattery, and Trump’s ego edged his instincts aside and he fell for the whole thing. Short of it is, Trump got fleeced. They didn’t just take his wallet. They took his watch, his shirt, his socks, and the suit he wore the day before. Not trying to be nasty, just sayin’ how I see it.
It was a con. The whole damn thing. A con to cover a con.
I’ve had those same thoughts myself. I thought Trump just wanted everyone to see what strong support he really has and it backfired big time.
I am thinking that when the woman was killed that Trump decided he was out. It had gone too far.

I don’t know if this is me just looking for some light in a very dark past few weeks but I interpret Sundance’s title to say “they had to rig this election in a very big way in an attempt to keep their enormous crimes hidden. The coy nature of an article that consists of only two sentences makes me hopeful that SD knows a something is coming.

Totally agree. My son (19) is in top shape, works out every day speaks French as second language. Never touched a drop of booze or touched a drug and I always thought he would be an excellent candidate for the military (yes he was a army cadet and top marksman). He will not ever consider a career in law enforcement or the military. Sad since his one uncle on the wife’s side was 30yr RCMP and uncle on my side was 15yr vet (Lt.).
Our countries are doomed as we move to have guys in dress’s decry their right to serve.

My wife said she heard on the MSM that if our President is Impeached (and convicted in Senate) that he will lose USSS protection. I don’t think this is true, and I am NOT trying to spread fear porn. I told her I would ask the knowledgeable folks here at CTH if that hypothesis is true, given the condition.
That may be the goal of his opponents, but it’s a gray area legally. The cases of impeachment and conviction from other federal offices that exist historically also included removal from office. IF President Trump is convicted, it will be too late to remove him from office. He might have a solid basis to argue in favor of keeping all his benefits, since he will have completed his term. President Nixon resigned to insure protection of all his pension and benefits, but he was neither impeached or convicted, and had the promise of a pardon already in place. I guess the answer is “to be determined in court”.
Yes he would. He would be removed from the pension rolls. No secret service, no library, no travel budget. Excluded from all privileges and banned from ever holding office again.
Mc Connell has said he can’t possibly start a case until the 21st. and President Trump is entitled to a defense.

There are some other people to share the blame, ones you might not think of at first. If you are feeling terrible right now, there are a lot of reasons, and one is likely the crash of going cold turkey after so much hopium from its two main pushers: Sidney Powell and Rudy Guiliani.
Please bear me out. I’m a retired litigator, although not, as Powell or Guiliani are not, an expert in election law. But there were some basic weaknesses in their challenges that any lawyer could see. The unique problem with a presidential recount or challenge was the time involved – the statutes and Constitution put deadlines in that other elective offices did not have. The deadlines made it almost impossible to challenge in a thorough way (and yes, spineless judges also made it difficult). And yes, I do think there was massive election fraud in the six states, but proving it under the Federal Rules of Evidence is another thing.
There has been much discussion on the evidence offered in the challenges, particularly the affidavits. Affidavits, while under oath, are sworn hearsay, and might be the basis for a re-count if sufficient to a judge, but they are not sworn testimony given in a setting in which the other side is able to cross-examine, which would include challenging the credibility of the affiant. The other side can offer affidavits of its own, and then you have dueling affidavits, with little means of telling who’s truthful, accurate, a qualified expert, or has the most reliable statistical method. Hearings would flesh this out, but there was so little time, and no judge was willing to do this. Hundreds of pages of pleading and exhibits don’t mean anything. Any litigator will tell you it can be 99% irrelevant or worthless.
Guiliani should have never been allowed anywhere near the election challenges, but as an old friend of Trump’s, and one who had not stabbed him in the back, Trump relied on him – far too much. Rudy might have been a great prosecutor decades ago, but he hadn’t set foot in a courtroom for years. Did he think simply walking into the Pennsylvania courtroom and identifying himself was enough? When the district court judge asked him the standard of review, Rudy said, “the normal one.” Every lawyer or law student who read that either laughed or groaned or said WTF????? Strict scrutiny, intermediate scrutiny and rational relation are the three standards for judicial review. Rudy was like a physician who walks into an operating room for an orthopedic procedure after not operating for three decades, and when asked by staff which bone they’re operating on, says, “the big one.” Rudy probably hadn’t cracked open the rules of civil procedure (different from the rules of criminal procedures), since law school, and probably hadn’t had to know standards of review since his last criminal appeal. But he took over the PA hearing, no doubt to the despair of the law firms the Trump firm had hired.
Powell did a good job for Flynn (although she spend far too much time trashing a thin-skinned judge on Hannity and Dobbs, and the mandamus was too risky and said so at the time), but she was no election law expert. But being an expert in criminal law does not make one an expert in election law, any more than being a good neurosurgeon makes one a good heart surgeon. Law, like medicine, is now very specialized, and you stick to your own lane.
Dominion has filed a huge libel suit against Powell, so all the evidence in her “Kraken” will be examined. The Dominion libel complaint shreds her evidence, but the Dominion complaint, just like her election challenge complaints, is a list of allegations. Truth is a defense to libel, so Powell will have the opportunity prove all her affidavits’ allegations true, and all her experts qualified. If she can, it won’t change the election, but may help save her from a huge libel judgment. But I’d predict a confidential settlement and retraction from Sidney. If she’s very quiet now, it’s because her professional liability carrier told her to STFU.
Both Guiliani and Powell spent waaaaaay too much time on Hannity and Lou Dobbs, expounding on law they knew little about, but being fawned over by those two has-been hosts. Living in these echo chambers reinforced that they were doing a great job, and Rudy no doubt constantly communicated this back to Trump, who relied on him. But it wasn’t Secret Agent Rudy’s trips to Ukraine that won the impeachment trial, it was the superb lawyering by experts like Dershowitz. In the election cases, even the best lawyers would have had an almost impossible task, but two self-promoters like Powell and Guiliani mucked up the works and gave people false hope.
Guiliani has been running on the fumes of 9/11 for years, but just because one did heroic work years ago does not make him the hero to turn to today. I won’t say anything about the constitutional law issues as to what role the vice-president could have played in the recent certification of the election, except that I hope Trump did not take any constitutional law advice from Guiliani. If it hadn’t been for Rudy, I doubt Trump would have been at the rally last week.
Guiliani will end up as an occasional commentator on TV, since his “consulting” business will dry up (it was buying access to Rudy’s contacts, who will now all hang up on him). Powell will go back to Texas and back to defending criminals, assuming she can get a professional liability carrier to insure her after the libel suit. Hannity and Dobbs will try to find some other people to appear in their echo chambers to prop up their ratings.
2022? 2024? Who knows what could happen in the country and world by then, including whether or not Melania will agree to another campaign, when Biden crashes the economy, or lets China invade Taiwan, or gets shoved out by an orchestrated campaign by Obama and the MSM.
Oh, please. The blame lies squarely on the national GOP and GOP of the various states in question – which showed themselves to be as corrupted as their national brethren. What you call “hopium” was Guiliani and Powell keeping the legal and political avenues open. It is the GOP controlled state legislatures that failed to act by not sending a dueling slate of state electors ultimately killed off any chance at a reversal.
Yes, the legislatures had a lot of spineless politicians, but they also needed sufficient, admissible, credible evidence to vote for alternative electors, and neither Guiliani nor Powell ever submitted it.
There’s plenty of blame to go around. Just don’t exclude Guiliani or Powell
They who solely controlled all evidence that would have given a conclusive answer either way never gave the Trump legal team any meaningful access to the evidence. None of the courts, except a county judge in MI, ordered an inspection of any evidence. And you blame the Trump team?
I think Guiliani and Powell should share the blame. As I said, given the unusual statutory and constitutional time constraints, the judges couldn’t see how they could get it done. Should more judges have tried? Yes, but Guiliani and Powell didn’t frame their cases to be tried within time constraints or give the judges legal grounds to ignore binding time constraints.
Many judges go by a “when in doubt, don’t” philosophy. Absolutely infuriating, but realistic attorneys go into a case knowing the kind of judge they’re dealing with. One of the senior partners at my old law firm called it “the doctrine of judicial laziness.”
As a statistician I can verify the statistic evidence submitted was clear and overwhelming evidence of a stolen election. You simply do not know what you are talking about. The judiciary is completely corrupt and ignorant of mathematics.
I practiced products liability law for 40 years in Philly, and worked with epidemiologists, who are also often statisticians. When it comes to the rules of evidence, admissibility and credibility, I think I know what I’m talking about. For every statistical study that we had in a case, the opposition had an equally qualified statistician who also claimed to have “clear and overwhelming evidence.” it’s called “dueling experts,” and the trier of fact (a judge in a non-jury case) determines who has the better statistician.
You didn’t mention your experience with the judiciary, and about how many cases you’ve testified in. I assume your statement, “judiciary is completely corrupt and ignorant of mathematics” is based on years of experience.

Each state would have had to allow for the opposing counsel to introduce its own statistician to rebut Trump’s. Again, dueling experts and statistical reports going on for who know how long.
And the Dems would have their own evidence, that they would claim was equally compelling. Yes, the doors were closed (because of the time constraints, if nothing else), but due process would require that both sides present evidence, expert testimony, etc.

I would love to see the evidence that this was a fair and honest election that would carry equal weight against the enormous amount of evidence that shows the fraud.
The senate GOP could have held hearings about voter fraud starting with the day after the election. They could have forced the message out to the masses, had they wanted to.

Guiliani, as a former prosecutor, would have had cases in which he knew who did it, but did not have near enough evidence to convict, especially under the Speedy Trial Act.
I saw, but in years of legal practice, I also saw seriously injured people, and the families of deceased individuals who didn’t get justice because of lack of evidence, statute of limitations, all the “legal technicalities” that are so often criticized. But those are rules with in which we all agreed to work, and with judges who varied in intelligence, competence and integrity.
I worked with some former prosecutors who could talk about cases in which the guilty walked free because the evidence was there, witnesses got scared off (This was in Philly, where “snitches get stitches.”) Sidney, as a criminal defense lawyer, and former prosecutor, probably had the same experiences. If she goes back to criminal defense, she likely will be defending people who’ve candidly told her they’re guilty. And she’ll try to get them off with the same zealous work she did for Mike Flynn.
Well, let’s apply YOUR condescending words and assumptions of Sidney practice, specifically in Gen Flynn’s case, to your long-gone legal practice: how many client “candidly to you they were guilty (of white collar crimes or criminal) and you zealously work to “get them off”?

The 25th Amendment option is gone’ Pence said he would not invoke it. If he had, it might have been an option, because the president can fight a 25th Amendment ouster. As far as impeachment goes, while the House impeached, the Senate will not convene for a trial until the day of inauguration, and no trial could be concluded by noon. By noon on the 20th then, Trump would be a private citizen. The odds of getting anyone on SCOTUS to even hear his case? Nil. I thought the Texas case in SCOTUS was one of the best and most interesting lawsuits filed from a legal standpoint, but there weren’t the votes to hear it.

My straightforward question to you is do you believe there is actual evidence to sustain the claim that the cheating in the states in question was enough to change the outcome? Because aside from circumstantial and historical evidence, I’m seeing the case crumble and I feel like a fool. They gamed the system, found a ton of voters to vote by mail. And won. On Trump hatred.

I lived in the Philly area for 40 years. Do I think the PA election was stolen, for example? Oh, yes. Every election year, the GOP poll watchers show up at Philly polls with credentials. They are denied entry. They go off to get new ones (takes several hours), and are allowed in when they return. And told several hundred people voted while they were gone. all the dead people votes were registered by the Dems, who control the polling places.
The four swing suburbs around Philly sometimes overcome the cheat, but too many liberals are fleeing Philly for the burb and taking their voting patterns with them (except when it comes to real estate taxes, zoning, etc.) Red suburbs have turned purple.

There was a time when we were known for free speech and equal rights. Then with late night vote counting the commies came to power. The President would have had a better chance at the Roman Colosseum.
We all have plenty to be angry about but seeing OH District-16 Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (R) vote for impeachment has set me off to the point I can’t contain my angst. I have business interests in his district.
I’ve been working on a long letter to this guy to be sent by registered mail to each of his 3 offices telling him in no uncertain terms that I have the financial means to have him primaried virtually ending his political career. Gonzalez just declared war and I’m letting him know I will double any amount in his war chest, recruit a true Conservative candidate and let it be known he voted to impeach President Trump.
This is not temporary bluster, I’m going after Gonzalez and in Michigan, where my primary residence is, I’m also going after Fred Upton and Peter Meijer. They will all receive similar letters including specific information on due process and exactly what President Trump said in his rally speech. I will not rest until I see these three out of office. I will ruin them!!! #WAR

This is the approach I think makes sense.
Like Soros and his nasty cabal, working at the ground level makes most sense to me. Even below House seats. State level seats matter–if more of those in PA, GA, AZ, NV, WI and MI legislatures had stiffer spines the fraud could have been better exposed or perhaps even prevented.
In the last election I donated to a number of Congressional races not just my district. A group to truly vet, then train and then support by not just money but principled but savvy election help would be a good approach. An independent fund, but one that promotes American First Principles (i.e., the constitution as written, federalism, limited government and most especially support for the Bill of Rights).
Interested to hear others thoughts on this.
Law not enforced is no law. Same goes for constitutions. Based on what we’ve seen, we can safely dispense with any pretense that we live in a constitutional republic. We just don’t. Probably haven’t for a long time. Maybe over 100 years. But now we’ve seen so with our own eyes.
The power structure does not consist in any rule of law, especially laws that are not enforced. The power structure consists in the money that buys the politicians and influences the justice system (like precedent engineering through organized expert witness activism). Somehow, we have to reorient to fight the battle on this financial, and profoundly non-constitutional front. Everything else is just tilting at windmills. We can no longer operate under the presumption of a rule of law. I’d love to hear ideas from people smarter than me.

A flyer has been circulating on the internet urging people to attend an “armed march on Capitol Hill and all state capitols [sic]” on January 17. It’s framed in terms of standing up for liberty. DO NOT ATTEND. There is a 99.99999% certainty that this is a trap intended to give Democrats an excuse to destroy the Second Amendment and, quite possibly, to cordon off from society all Republicans and conservatives.
Wise words. Firearms have a number of VERY important uses, but waving them around at parades is not likely one of them, particularly at the present time.
Looks like they’re trying to coopt the usual Stop the Steal protest that’s been happening every weekend at the state Capitols for the past two months. Will go to the usual Saturday 12noon event on the 16th . . . and stay home on Sunday the 17th.

I’ve heard a lot of people (not so much here, but on other sites) doing “What if…?” scenarios regarding the events of the 6th. Mostly asking the question, “What if the ‘takeover’ of the Capitol hadn’t occurred? Would more objections have been made, would there have been more debate on certification of several states?”
I admit that entered my mind too. But I just wanted to assure everyone that it really made NO difference. I think it’s pretty obvious that the so-called riots and “violent attack” on the building was just an excuse to shorten the whole certification process, to do away with the FORMALITIES of objections. Thanks to Pence, there was NEVER a chance things were gonna go our way. Sure, there may have been more objections and debates, but in the end, I’d say not even one state’s objections would have survived. The best shot we had was from the states (three I think) that asked for time to reconsider. And even THAT, Pence wasn’t gonna approve.
So… as bad as the fallout has been from the “attack” on the Capitol, let’s got get depressed thinking they made any difference in the certification process.

That was NOT a Trump rally last Wednesday. At a Trump rally everyone who gets in gets scrutinized and eyeballed. And if by some chance a few ringers would get in, the crowd helped usher them out. Last Wednesday was a demonstration, not a rally, and there is no way in the world Trump should have shown up at the elipse. He should not have even been in town for that demonstration. Should have been in Florida.
The crowd at the elipse? No one knew who the hell was there. No one knew who the hell was up at the Capitol even before Trump finished speaking. No one was in control of that situation, and Trump’s people let him walk right into it. People close to him should have sniffed out the con and warned him away.
You gotta hand it to them. They played Trump like a rube. They baited the trap with flattery, and Trump’s ego edged his instincts aside and he fell for the whole thing. Short of it is, Trump got fleeced. They didn’t just take his wallet. They took his watch, his shirt, his socks, and the suit he wore the day before. Not trying to be nasty, just sayin’ how I see it.

The coy nature of an article that consists of only two sentences makes me hopeful that SD knows a something is coming.

Totally agree. My son (19) is in top shape, works out every day speaks French as second language. Never touched a drop of booze or touched a drug and I always thought he would be an excellent candidate for the military (yes he was a army cadet and top marksman). He will not ever consider a career in law enforcement or the military. Sad since his one uncle on the wife’s side was 30yr RCMP and uncle on my side was 15yr vet (Lt.).
Our countries are doomed as we move to have guys in dress’s decry their right to serve.

IF President Trump is convicted, it will be too late to remove him from office. He might have a solid basis to argue in favor of keeping all his benefits, since he will have completed his term. President Nixon resigned to insure protection of all his pension and benefits, but he was neither impeached or convicted, and had the promise of a pardon already in place. I guess the answer is “to be determined in court”.

There are some other people to share the blame, ones you might not think of at first. If you are feeling terrible right now, there are a lot of reasons, and one is likely the crash of going cold turkey after so much hopium from its two main pushers: Sidney Powell and Rudy Guiliani.
Please bear me out. I’m a retired litigator, although not, as Powell or Guiliani are not, an expert in election law. But there were some basic weaknesses in their challenges that any lawyer could see. The unique problem with a presidential recount or challenge was the time involved – the statutes and Constitution put deadlines in that other elective offices did not have. The deadlines made it almost impossible to challenge in a thorough way (and yes, spineless judges also made it difficult). And yes, I do think there was massive election fraud in the six states, but proving it under the Federal Rules of Evidence is another thing.
There has been much discussion on the evidence offered in the challenges, particularly the affidavits. Affidavits, while under oath, are sworn hearsay, and might be the basis for a re-count if sufficient to a judge, but they are not sworn testimony given in a setting in which the other side is able to cross-examine, which would include challenging the credibility of the affiant. The other side can offer affidavits of its own, and then you have dueling affidavits, with little means of telling who’s truthful, accurate, a qualified expert, or has the most reliable statistical method. Hearings would flesh this out, but there was so little time, and no judge was willing to do this. Hundreds of pages of pleading and exhibits don’t mean anything. Any litigator will tell you it can be 99% irrelevant or worthless.
Guiliani should have never been allowed anywhere near the election challenges, but as an old friend of Trump’s, and one who had not stabbed him in the back, Trump relied on him – far too much. Rudy might have been a great prosecutor decades ago, but he hadn’t set foot in a courtroom for years. Did he think simply walking into the Pennsylvania courtroom and identifying himself was enough? When the district court judge asked him the standard of review, Rudy said, “the normal one.” Every lawyer or law student who read that either laughed or groaned or said WTF????? Strict scrutiny, intermediate scrutiny and rational relation are the three standards for judicial review. Rudy was like a physician who walks into an operating room for an orthopedic procedure after not operating for three decades, and when asked by staff which bone they’re operating on, says, “the big one.” Rudy probably hadn’t cracked open the rules of civil procedure (different from the rules of criminal procedures), since law school, and probably hadn’t had to know standards of review since his last criminal appeal. But he took over the PA hearing, no doubt to the despair of the law firms the Trump firm had hired.
Powell did a good job for Flynn (although she spend far too much time trashing a thin-skinned judge on Hannity and Dobbs, and the mandamus was too risky and said so at the time), but she was no election law expert. But being an expert in criminal law does not make one an expert in election law, any more than being a good neurosurgeon makes one a good heart surgeon. Law, like medicine, is now very specialized, and you stick to your own lane.
Dominion has filed a huge libel suit against Powell, so all the evidence in her “Kraken” will be examined. The Dominion libel complaint shreds her evidence, but the Dominion complaint, just like her election challenge complaints, is a list of allegations. Truth is a defense to libel, so Powell will have the opportunity prove all her affidavits’ allegations true, and all her experts qualified. If she can, it won’t change the election, but may help save her from a huge libel judgment. But I’d predict a confidential settlement and retraction from Sidney. If she’s very quiet now, it’s because her professional liability carrier told her to STFU.
Both Guiliani and Powell spent waaaaaay too much time on Hannity and Lou Dobbs, expounding on law they knew little about, but being fawned over by those two has-been hosts. Living in these echo chambers reinforced that they were doing a great job, and Rudy no doubt constantly communicated this back to Trump, who relied on him. But it wasn’t Secret Agent Rudy’s trips to Ukraine that won the impeachment trial, it was the superb lawyering by experts like Dershowitz. In the election cases, even the best lawyers would have had an almost impossible task, but two self-promoters like Powell and Guiliani mucked up the works and gave people false hope.
Guiliani has been running on the fumes of 9/11 for years, but just because one did heroic work years ago does not make him the hero to turn to today. I won’t say anything about the constitutional law issues as to what role the vice-president could have played in the recent certification of the election, except that I hope Trump did not take any constitutional law advice from Guiliani. If it hadn’t been for Rudy, I doubt Trump would have been at the rally last week.
Guiliani will end up as an occasional commentator on TV, since his “consulting” business will dry up (it was buying access to Rudy’s contacts, who will now all hang up on him). Powell will go back to Texas and back to defending criminals, assuming she can get a professional liability carrier to insure her after the libel suit. Hannity and Dobbs will try to find some other people to appear in their echo chambers to prop up their ratings.
2022? 2024? Who knows what could happen in the country and world by then, including whether or not Melania will agree to another campaign, when Biden crashes the economy, or lets China invade Taiwan, or gets shoved out by an orchestrated campaign by Obama and the MSM.
Oh, please. The blame lies squarely on the national GOP and GOP of the various states in question – which showed themselves to be as corrupted as their national brethren. What you call “hopium” was Guiliani and Powell keeping the legal and political avenues open. It is the GOP controlled state legislatures that failed to act by not sending a dueling slate of state electors ultimately killed off any chance at a reversal.
Yes, the legislatures had a lot of spineless politicians, but they also needed sufficient, admissible, credible evidence to vote for alternative electors, and neither Guiliani nor Powell ever submitted it.

They who solely controlled all evidence that would have given a conclusive answer either way never gave the Trump legal team any meaningful access to the evidence. None of the courts, except a county judge in MI, ordered an inspection of any evidence. And you blame the Trump team?
I think Guiliani and Powell should share the blame. As I said, given the unusual statutory and constitutional time constraints, the judges couldn’t see how they could get it done. Should more judges have tried? Yes, but Guiliani and Powell didn’t frame their cases to be tried within time constraints or give the judges legal grounds to ignore binding time constraints.
Many judges go by a “when in doubt, don’t” philosophy. Absolutely infuriating, but realistic attorneys go into a case knowing the kind of judge they’re dealing with. One of the senior partners at my old law firm called it “the doctrine of judicial laziness.”
As a statistician I can verify the statistic evidence submitted was clear and overwhelming evidence of a stolen election. You simply do not know what you are talking about. The judiciary is completely corrupt and ignorant of mathematics.
I practiced products liability law for 40 years in Philly, and worked with epidemiologists, who are also often statisticians. When it comes to the rules of evidence, admissibility and credibility, I think I know what I’m talking about. For every statistical study that we had in a case, the opposition had an equally qualified statistician who also claimed to have “clear and overwhelming evidence.” it’s called “dueling experts,” and the trier of fact (a judge in a non-jury case) determines who has the better statistician.
You didn’t mention your experience with the judiciary, and about how many cases you’ve testified in. I assume your statement, “judiciary is completely corrupt and ignorant of mathematics” is based on years of experience.

Each state would have had to allow for the opposing counsel to introduce its own statistician to rebut Trump’s. Again, dueling experts and statistical reports going on for who know how long.

Guiliani, as a former prosecutor, would have had cases in which he knew who did it, but did not have near enough evidence to convict, especially under the Speedy Trial Act.

I saw, but in years of legal practice, I also saw seriously injured people, and the families of deceased individuals who didn’t get justice because of lack of evidence, statute of limitations, all the “legal technicalities” that are so often criticized. But those are rules with in which we all agreed to work, and with judges who varied in intelligence, competence and integrity.
I worked with some former prosecutors who could talk about cases in which the guilty walked free because the evidence was there, witnesses got scared off (This was in Philly, where “snitches get stitches.”) Sidney, as a criminal defense lawyer, and former prosecutor, probably had the same experiences. If she goes back to criminal defense, she likely will be defending people who’ve candidly told her they’re guilty. And she’ll try to get them off with the same zealous work she did for Mike Flynn.

The 25th Amendment option is gone’ Pence said he would not invoke it. If he had, it might have been an option, because the president can fight a 25th Amendment ouster. As far as impeachment goes, while the House impeached, the Senate will not convene for a trial until the day of inauguration, and no trial could be concluded by noon. By noon on the 20th then, Trump would be a private citizen. The odds of getting anyone on SCOTUS to even hear his case? Nil. I thought the Texas case in SCOTUS was one of the best and most interesting lawsuits filed from a legal standpoint, but there weren’t the votes to hear it.

I lived in the Philly area for 40 years. Do I think the PA election was stolen, for example? Oh, yes. Every election year, the GOP poll watchers show up at Philly polls with credentials. They are denied entry. They go off to get new ones (takes several hours), and are allowed in when they return. And told several hundred people voted while they were gone. all the dead people votes were registered by the Dems, who control the polling places.
The four swing suburbs around Philly sometimes overcome the cheat, but too many liberals are fleeing Philly for the burb and taking their voting patterns with them (except when it comes to real estate taxes, zoning, etc.) Red suburbs have turned purple.

Gonzalez just declared war and I’m letting him know I will double any amount in his war chest, recruit a true Conservative candidate and let it be known he voted to impeach President Trump.
This is not temporary bluster, I’m going after Gonzalez and in Michigan, where my primary residence is, I’m also going after Fred Upton and Peter Meijer. They will all receive similar letters including specific information on due process and exactly what President Trump said in his rally speech. I will not rest until I see these three out of office. This is the approach I think makes sense.
Like Soros and his nasty cabal, working at the ground level makes most sense to me. Even below House seats. State level seats matter–if more of those in PA, GA, AZ, NV, WI and MI legislatures had stiffer spines the fraud could have been better exposed or perhaps even prevented.
In the last election I donated to a number of Congressional races not just my district. A group to truly vet, then train and then support by not just money but principled but savvy election help would be a good approach. An independent fund, but one that promotes American First Principles (i.e., the constitution as written, federalism, limited government and most especially support for the Bill of Rights).
Interested to hear others thoughts on this.

Law not enforced is no law. Same goes for constitutions. Based on what we’ve seen, we can safely dispense with any pretense that we live in a constitutional republic. We just don’t. Probably haven’t for a long time. Maybe over 100 years. But now we’ve seen so with our own eyes.
The power structure does not consist in any rule of law, especially laws that are not enforced. The power structure consists in the money that buys the politicians and influences the justice system (like precedent engineering through organized expert witness activism). Somehow, we have to reorient to fight the battle on this financial, and profoundly non-constitutional front. Everything else is just tilting at windmills. We can no longer operate under the presumption of a rule of law. I’d love to hear ideas from people smarter than me.

Looks like they’re trying to coopt the usual Stop the Steal protest that’s been happening every weekend at the state Capitols for the past two months. Will go to the usual Saturday 12noon event on the 16th . . . and stay home on Sunday the 17th.

In less than 7 days these traitors voted to impeach a man who has done nothing more than to ask you to behave peacefully which is your natural inclination. The investigation is not complete. The timelines show without question there was no way for MAGA supporters to have breached the Capitol. That criminal act does not belong to MAGA. We know this.
I wish to sincerely thank each and everyone of you who took your valuable time and spent your hard earned dough to travel to DC to show your support. Witnessing the MAGA Crowd was a sight to behold! It was beautiful. You did ALL OF US PROUD.
Please understand, or better yet, put the entirety of this Impeachment farce into perspective. The U.S. Capitol right now is an active crime scene. What kind of individual demands 435 members and their staff to even be in the building? Investigations are still ongoing. I, like you, trust the FBI as far as I can throw them, but right now, they are all we have. I’d never say trust them, BUT I would say let’s see what they turn up. We are armed with firsthand information, firsthand testimony, video and tons of other information that is pertinent to the facts as they continue to unfold.
To hold hearings to impeach anybody so quickly over nothing is making you take your eye off the crime(s)…look over here not there. Don’t give them your power. FOCUS.
There is a key report that made its way to the congress on 1/7 – Ratcliffe’s foreign election interference report.
That report obviously freaked the commies on the Left out which goes a long way in explaining the silliness of Pelosi’s impeachment crap.
That is all this is…an exercise in futility. McConnell went on the record today stating no hearings in the Senate will be held until after the Inauguration of China Joe and Kamala. Trust that until McConnell gives you a reason not to.
Until such time, get your heads back into the investigation and the steal. This is where it needs to be. A hard coup is happening. No question. You’d be doing all a great favor if you’d take your valuable time and focus/report back on your research so all of us can benefit. Just don’t be distracted by the shiny bobble.
Pelosi’s misfit actions today clearly shows a last gasp. Think of the witch in the Wizard of Oz…that’s Pelosi taking every lever of power available to her to stop the train heading full-steam ahead down the tracks. Hell, it might even explain the former used car salesman’s capitulation.

Just a headline when I go to the page. No article, no video.
I’ve heard a lot of people (not so much here, but on other sites) doing “What if…?” scenarios regarding the events of the 6th. Mostly asking the question, “What if the ‘takeover’ of the Capitol hadn’t occurred? Would more objections have been made, would there have been more debate on certification of several states?”
I admit that entered my mind too. But I just wanted to assure everyone that it really made NO difference. I think it’s pretty obvious that the so-called riots and “violent attack” on the building was just an excuse to shorten the whole certification process, to do away with the FORMALITIES of objections. Thanks to Pence, there was NEVER a chance things were gonna go our way. Sure, there may have been more objections and debates, but in the end, I’d say not even one state’s objections would have survived. The best shot we had was from the states (three I think) that asked for time to reconsider. And even THAT, Pence wasn’t gonna approve.
So… as bad as the fallout has been from the “attack” on the Capitol, let’s got get depressed thinking they made any difference in the certification process.

I have a vision of The appropriate protest for inauguration day. A 100 thousand people (unarmed of course) standing silently dressed in black, all wearing guy fawkes masks. At the moment of the inauguration they just turn and walk away. Consent withdrawn.

Funny, I had a similar vision, but mine included wearing black armbands, mourning for the republic that was, and dead, DEAD, silence.
Also thought people carrying signs such as “Cheater,” “Thief-in-Chief,” or “China’s Puppet” would be appropriate. But the main thing is the grievous, yawning silence.
