The video confirms what we anticipated before. The primary venue for assembly and speaker content will be focused on The Ellipse, a 52-acre park south of the White House fence and north of Constitution Avenue and the National Mall; however the recommendation is now to arrive before 9am on the date of the event. Also an additional warning. Be prepared for the DC metro to be SHUT DOWN as part of a crowd control strategy. If as many people arrive as we are currently anticipating to see, literally in the millions, you could/should expect DC Mayor Bowser to order the DC metro rail system to shut down. It would be prudent to plan for this.
If you are incapable of walking multiple miles into DC; and you anticipate the shortage of cab transport; one possible workaround might be to plan on taking Amtrak into Union Station. Unfortunately, January 6th attendees must think of themselves as insurgent supporters arriving against the interests of the administrative state. Have a primary, secondary and back-up plan thought-out in advance; and make your travel into DC early.
As noted below The Ellipse is mid-way (aligned with the Washington Monument) North of the National Mall. The area in-around the Capitol building might not be open due to pre-inauguration event construction. So it is best to be fluid with your plans.

On Monday, two large caravans will be passing through my city around 2:00pm. One originating from the northwest / Washington, Oregon, and one from the southwest / California, Arizona, etc.
They plan to converge in Colorado and travel east on I-70.

For those who are not used to walking long distances __ When you feel really tired out, find a quiet spot where you can LIE DOWN (carry a large plastic bag to lie on). Eat something to restore your energy, wrap yourself as warmly as possible, and really rest for half an hour. You will be as good as new. If you are in really crowded places, take turns with your companions — two or three shielding while one rests.
Also, in case there are arrests, can someone who has been arrested at a demonstration please offer advice, like what to carry and not to carry, and any other useful information on being in police custody ? And advice on dealing with tear gas and other crowd controls ?
Stay in a group. If gas is used walk away. If you are not confronting the police gas should not be a problem. Pepper spray is neutralized by fat. If you have milk rinse your eyes. This crowd is going to be so large that you can be a part of it in any area that feels comfortable to you when you are there. Just being part of the crowd and being present will send the message. You may have to listen to the speakers on a radio but your presence is your contribution to the event. Miranda rights: You have a right to be silent until you have an attorney.
I attended the Sept. 2009 Tea Party event in D.C. It was massive with over a million people in attendance. People were stuck at the Metro and could not get in because it was backed up. Plan to arrive on the 5th if you can. I also attended the July 4th event in D.C. that POTUS spoke at. Again, it was massive in attendance and I had a great time even though it was extremely hot. If I can make some recommendations, bring snacks and drinks. I went through all of it because it is not easy to get to a vendor. Also, wear comfortable shoes for a lot of walking, and bring a blanket or light carrying chair to sit if you are in the lawn. Have a great time as I know that you will. This is history in the making.
Let me add one more thing. Be aware that there were some Charter buses that deliberately canceled the day before or the day of the D.C. event. They did it on purpose and thousands were stranded and could not attend the July 4th event. I am concerned it may happen again. I hope it doesn’t, but nothing surprises me anymore.

There was porta-pottys and bathrooms in buildings such as restaurants. DC Mayor has closed down indoor dining which will make it more difficult to use those. We went in hotel lobby bathrooms too.

If you cannot attend the march; use the time to phone Senators and Representative offices to urge a vote to not accept the electoral votes and establish an election review commission to certify that there was no fraud in the six key swing states by January 18.

If the popular vote is not valid, then those electors didn’t receive votes that were regularly cast. So that’s the key: Congress is not bound by the Electoral Vote Act because it assumes that the votes were regularly cast. If they’re not, then Congress can simply say, “No, even though the governor certified these electors, he certified electors who didn’t receive regularly-cast votes.”
So they don’t have to go along with the governor’s certification.

IMO this would exclude ballots that are unlawful -such as “late mail-in ballots”, etc. and everything else where State Law was changed by judges and state administration officials contrary to the laws passed by each State legislature on the election process.

You attending DC’s rally are doing the Lord’s Work. God bless you all and keep you. I hope lots of former military are there, especially younger ones who have seen combat overseas. For obvious reasons.
Mayor Bowser cannot just unilaterally shut down the Metro system. It is run by WMATA, which answers to a general manager and a governing board consisting of appointees from DC, Maryland. and Virginia. Metro is not run by the DC government, which has limited powers under home rule in any event.
However, the system backs up very easily. A million people is going to mean crowded trains, crowded platforms, and crowded ticket machines. You have to line up to purchase a card ($2) plus the fare. That takes a while, and how the machines operate takes a while to figure out too. If you are arriving a day early, get your Metro card a day in advance to speed things up.
Among the closest metro stations will be Dupont Circle, McPherson Square, Metro Center, and Smithsonian. None of them is right near the Ellipse, so plan on walking. Union Station is NOT near the Ellipse, so get on the red line to Dupont Circle probably if you are coming in on a rail line to Union Station.
Bathrooms may be hard to find. If there are porta potties, BYOTP. If you come in to Union Station, take advantage of the opportunity for a bathroom break there. Main level at the back center.
There will definitely be extra security since the President will be speaking. There may be metal detectors to pass through, and high fences. This may create choke points with long lines. Choke points do create an opportunity for Antifa to try to block movement. Hard to know in advance.
DC police will NOT remove Antifa black bloc groups from blocking streets at choke points. But, remember, DC around Metro Center and Dupont Circle stations is a grid. If a street is blocked, walk up a block or two and find your way through. Best to head directly to the Mall, up 18th Street or 14th Street if you are coming off the red line or from Metro Center. I suggest avoiding 16th Street and Lafayette Square.
There will be plenty of room for overflow crowd over next to the Washington Monument across the street and then down from there to the Lincoln Memorial or up the other direction towards the Smithsonian museums. Probably there will be large screens set up so the crowd can spread out.
The best metro station to use will probably be Smithsonian because the exit is directly onto the Mall — lots of room, hard to block. Easy to aim for the Washington Monument and then steer to the right side of it.
Also, Farragut North, Farragut West, and Archives stations.
Archives is a little longer walk. Either Farragut station puts you in the middle of office buildings, then find your way to 18th Street and head toward the Washington Monument. If 18th is closed off, you may need to go up to 20th and then make a left when you get to the Mall to walk up the sidewalk to the Ellipse.
“You have to line up to purchase a card” (for the Metro) and “how the machines operate takes awhile to figure out too.” Four 35 year old college grads plus two older ones were confused for a least 20 minutes. We wandered in that station reading the instructions for a while until someone figured it out. Some of the turnstyles only give you a few seconds to get through after it scans the ticket.
Do not hesitate when you exit the car. Go out away from the doors and regroup if you don’t know which way to turn when you get off. The doors slide together even if there is a person in the way. Unlike elevator doors they just squeeze the person and are very difficult to pry apart. There doesn’t seem to be an operator watching the doors or anyway to open the doors until the next scheduled stop.
doors can easily be kept open by placing heel of boot against the edge of door while it is fully open. When the door tries to close, it hits the back of your boot and stops.

Just a little more information that may be helpful if you are not familiar with DC. Numbered streets run North and South (numbers increase as you head West). Lettered Streets run East and West (letters increase as you head North). Streets named for states (Mass., Rhode Island, Penn.) run diagonally. Where they intersect with numbered and lettered streets, there is a circle/round-about. Also there are four quadrants that make up DC. For the most part, activities will be taking place in the NW quadrant.
Also, in general, consider avoiding NE and SE unless near the Capitol.
Separately, note that there is no DC to N. Va access other than metro or crossing one of the long bridges across the Potomac River (bottlenecks).

Expect a lot of traffic in and around DC between 6am – 9am. Over 300,000 people who work in DC drive in from outside of DC. Reserve parking ahead of time if you can. Finding parking in DC during a work day is much different than finding one on the weekend.
Union station (Amtrak) is 1.5 miles away from the Elispe, long walk to short taxi ride if the Metro is closed. Amtrak service From Va, Pa, WV, NY, Ma and Md to DC offers an alternative to driving and trying to find a parking spot in a city with a serious parking spot shortage.
With 142,000 people using the metro daily to get work in DC, I don’t expect they will shut it down because it’s a work day.

No, that’s just the area of the nearest 10 to 12 blocks around the White House. No parking zones = a lot less work for police and Secret Service checking for car or truck bombs, they will be busy enough as it is. Plus, keeps the streets clearer for emergency vehicles.

Relax, the Secret Service has this. Snipers on every roof, security clearances in advance of all persons seeking entry to top floors of any nearby buildings – they are professionals. Let them do their jobs.

You can stay as far away as Fredericksburg, VA and still have a safe and convenient mode of transportation to DC. The VRE will run regardless of what DC does, and you can disembark at L’Enfant Station and have a 20 minute walk across the Mall to the Ellipse. You can also take it to/from Union Station if you so desire, but it’s a good 40 min walk to the WH.

Border Cop, I have a room in Arlington near Clarendon Blvd and 17th Street. I was going to walk over to the mall. Looks like there is pedestrian access on both bridges, the Roosevelt Memorial and Arlington Memorial. Looks like a nice walk down towards Arlington Cemetery, cross the Arlington bridge and that puts me right at the Lincoln Memorial. Estimating 1.5 to 2 miles on foot, easy for me. Is this feasible from an access and safety standpoint…and if so, anyone else want to join me early Wednesday morning?

The boat idea is interesting. Trump supporters are great boaters it seems that a Trump boat parade would support rally goers in and out, as well as MAGA food/water vendors. Not sure how it could be organized but seems a great way around DC swamp creatures road blocks. Also, if the groups could get vendors contacted and a route to supply via the river. The bathroom issue will be difficult. Unlike Democrats sanitation hygiene is a concern for a long day.
Trump Supporters with boats see Google Earth! There is a boat ramp with docks and fuel right across the river by the Pentagon. The Pentagon has a large overflow parking lot that people could access without pass. Just enter from hwy 27 then proceed to the pedestrian bridge at the one end of the tidal basin. Walk to the right to the Marina and board a boat. Said boat motors across the river to the Rock creek trail and unloads passengers and returns to tidal basin to pick up more Trump supporters. Just a idea!
