U.S. Senator Ted Cruz has one of those rare opportunities to redeem his entire political career by supporting President Trump on January 6, 2021. This is a rare second-chance; let us hope Ted Cruz has the grace, humility and strength to see it.
In 2016, during the RNC convention to nominate Donald Trump, a bitter and divisive Ted Cruz self-immolated on a national stage.
The collapse was so catastrophic when Cruz attempted to return to the convention donor suite in the Cleveland auditorium he was kicked out by Cruz’s main financial backers, Robert and Rebekah Mercer. Senator Cruz never recovered.
Two years later, having lost the base of support from a MAGA community that did not forget, Senator Ted Cruz was on his back facing a Senate challenge from democrat Beto O’Rourke and he needed President Trump to rally in Texas on his behalf. Trump came to Texas in 2018 and lifted Cruz to a narrow victory.
Two years later, with the electoral challenge now established for January 6, Ted Cruz has the rare opportunity, a second-chance, to elevate himself back to a political position of influence… While we await the outcome, here is the 2016 reminder.
Before Ted Cruz walked onto the 2016 convention stage in Cleveland, Donald Trump had a very good idea what was about to happen. Without pre-planning, or staged set-ups, Trump knew what to expect because Donald Trump has an exceptional political sense; he knows how to read his adversaries.
Throughout his life, Ted Cruz has exhibited a character of division; entirely tone-deaf to the people he encounters and leaves in his wake. Those who knew Cruz in grade school and college have talked about how Cruz’s abrasive personality made him a lonely person despite his intellect.
Toxic abrasiveness is the same reason why President George W Bush would not elevate Ted Cruz in the White House 2001-2005. Attorney Cruz was 30-years-old and arrogantly thought he should have been a candidate for Attorney General; unfortunately, no-one else did.
Years later it was toxic abrasiveness that drove candidate Ted Cruz to run for Senate in 2011 – to show those same political voices he carried a stronger political tool box than he was ever given credit for.
That same toxic abrasiveness in 2013 is what created a lonely, divisive and ineffective Senator -with zero legislative accomplishment- who announced a presidential bid only 2 years after election to the Senate. And it’s that same personality issue that creates a need for a disguise to be successful.
Apologies to baseball fans, but Ted Cruz is the political equivalent of Ty Cobb. Despite skills, no teammate could get along with either S.O.B.
Donald Trump can sense these things the way most of us can sense the same given enough time around similar characters. As a consequence when Trump invited Ted Cruz to speak at the RNC Convention, he knew what was most likely going to happen. After all, it was entirely predictable.
The only risk to Donald Trump was if Cruz broke character and came to Cleveland to deliver a unity speech. That would have elevated Cruz. However, by mid-afternoon yesterday any doubts about what direction Cruz was going to take were easily dispatched by looking at his actual engagements.
Senator Ted Cruz returned to the national political scene exactly where he left off after losing Indiana. A review of Cruz twitter feed merely confirmed the same cast of characters, the same tone, the same delivery and the same predictable approach heading into the evening.
The only thing that remained last night was for Trump to see how far Cruz was willing to expose himself, to display his toxic abrasiveness on a national stage.
One can only imagine candidate Trump standing out of sight at the back of the auditorium listening to the delivery. Trump listening as Cruz began to describe how divided we are as a nation. Listening to Cruz explain how the values of each state have no commonality.
Yep, exactly as anticipated – After the proselytizing introduction about the police officer’s families killed in Dallas and Baton Rouge, Senator Ted Cruz was delivering a self-absorbed disunity speech at a Republican National Convention and referencing his own campaign: “our campaign”.
The building division was only moderately interrupted when Cruz looked directly into the 12 o’clock camera nineteen minutes later and said:
[19:00] …”and to those listening, please, don’t stay home in November”…
APPLAUSE (audience thinks he’s messaging the #NeverTrumpers to not sit out) – But, wait for it….
APPLAUSE CONTINUES (audience still thinking he’s messaging the #NeverTrump)… But, wait for it…..
Boom, there it is:
….”if you love our country, and you love our children as much as I know that you do, stand and speak and vote your conscience – vote for candidates up and down the ticket, who you trust to defend our freedom and to defend the constitution”….
Wait, wut?
The divisive, too-cute-by-half “vote your conscience, up and down the ticket” commentary came out exactly as Trump thought it would three weeks earlier when he offered the speaking engagement.
That’s the moment toxic Cruz lost the audience, and abrasive Ted self-detonated.
The audience chants: “we want Trump, we want Trump, we want Trump”!
But it wasn’t until Cruz gave the snarky response..:
“I appreciate the enthusiasm of the New York delegation”
..that visible loud BOOS commenced.
And they grew louder, and louder, and louder. As the entire audience began to recognize the arrogance of slighting the home-team delegation for the Republican Nominee for President, at his own convention.
From that moment, Cruz lost the entire convention floor. Chaos began as the pontificating abrasiveness continued with few paying attention to the speaker’s remarks.
It was the snarky slight to the New York delegation that affirmed everything Trump thought would possibly happen.
It was also the arrogant poke in the eye to the audience that finally brought Spartacus Trump into visibility within the auditorium as the audience shouted “Endorse Trump”.
Toxic Ted Cruz left the stage amid a thunderous chorus of boos, having diminished himself spectacularly on the grandest political stage of them all.
The entire audience, and millions of people around the world saw first hand the toxic and abrasive nature that is Ted Cruz unmasked. WATCH – Prompted
The rest, as they say, IS HISTORY.
Only Cruz sycophants were left believing Ted Cruz had any political viability left at all.
Much like the White House in 2001, the republican base won’t forget the sheer audacity and arrogance. Worse yet, donors could never trust a candidate willing to expose his own conceited nature on such a large scale.
Senator Ted Cruz ended his political career the same way he came into it, all alone.
January 6, 2021 is a very rare opportunity.
Test
A+
Excellent write-up Sundance. So well put.
CRUZ is supporting President Trump and fighting the election fraud!
No, cruz is proposing a “Political Committee” that will not have time, legal capacity, or intent to examine all vote crime (especially with the existing refusals to provide and protect evidence).
Bingo! That might be the Cruz scam. I don’t trust him and never will.
Amen, AmJean!
Still, the Daring Twelve still said they would object to the electors for the disputed states. A few days ago we were praying for one to step forward. Likelihood of a Commission is unlikely. We need unbiased investigators to investigate. Problem is where to find them. Maybe US Marshals.
What about the Civilian Special Operations forces which was recently moved to Chris Miller, Secretary of Defense.
Don’t think so. They are premising it on a similar action in 1876 I believe.
This committee will extend well past Jan 20 wherein Pelosi will be temp President. Then the Dems will continue to request more time to conduct voter fraud investigations because the job will never get finished so that Pelosi will complete her 4 years in office. We already see where this is headed.
Anyone who thinks Cruz will do the right thing is like a battered wife who thinks, “he’s gonna really change this time”, while she wipes the blood off her lip and thinks of the next story she’s gonna tell her friends about the “accident” she had. Again…
In fact I’d venture to guess that there isn’t a congressman that actually cares about Americans. I know I’ll get heat for that but so what!
Ever notice that these little “opposition” moves come right after it’s too late to make a difference but just early enough to make headlines? And it’s always juuuust short of making a real impact?
The only option is IA and ML. It always has been. The big question is will POTUS do it? With all the evidence of fraud and CCP there’s only one choice he can make if he is true to his word.
We will see…
Or like Charlie Brown believing Lucy when she tells him that she’ll hold the football steady this time.
Katrina Pierson would know…
Cruz does not seem like the badass type. More like a faux rebel.
Josh Hawley had the courage to stand first and to stand alone. Cruz and his crew are likely working against Hawley while keeping the appearance of working with him. Ted Cruz and Megyn Kelly are two of a kind and should remain on the outs until actions prove other. Words are cheap.
Hawley didn’t do it out of “courage”; it was Political calculation.
And reading his statement, it wouldn’t have gotten the job done.
IMHO, giving someone an undeserved white hat, for ONE action, or for saying what we believe while doing something opposite, is what got us into this mess.
I recall talking to a Local Republican party precinct captain, some months ago.
He said how much he hated Graham, until the Kavanaugh speech lindsey gave.
That turned him 180 degrees on lindsey, thought he was great.
We have to be smarter than that. Hawley says and does what he says and does, cause he wants to run for POTUS, and would like our MAGA votes.
Hawley was the only one initially; that certainly takes courage. I don’t see courage
behind Cruz’s actions at all.
Cruz is just trying to stay relevant if PDJT has the election stolen from him.
Definitely a political calculation. However, most likely came from Patriots calling, writing, emailing them. Good for us! I wrote Daines the day before he got on board. I assume he got thousands of comments. Still, a win for us. Massive constituent comments can make a difference. Not saying they are sincere but it is one of the tools we have,
I wrote to Daines as well and told him there were 74 million Americans whose votes are being canceled. We in Montana voted for him and can remove him next time. We have long memories.
I say the same about Glenn Beck actually.
Wow, you really go it! Stellar.
No one at CTH trusts Ted Cruz. No one. He called for a 10 day audit of the ballots. (You know, the one Fulton country just destroyed).
Not what I want to hear.
You do not speak for all Treepers.
He/she speaks for me!
And almost every other Treeper who didnt just show up here after the stolen election to whine and bitch. Cruz, like Romney, wont receive 10% of the Treeper vote in my opinion.
Cruz’ call for a 15 member bipartisan commission to study if fraud occurred in the 2020 election is total political nonsense to whitewash a report and confirm Biden. Who will appoint the members of said commission? McConnell and Pelosi. Who do you think they pack the commission with? Trump haters that’s who. It’s a foregone conclusion the commission will reach a verdict of no significant voter fraud. Cruz is a weasel. He wants to appear AOK to the Trump supporters while giving the political establishment and the big donors the Biden win. No thanks.
He needs to add “forensic” in front of audit and it might be acceptable. I do not see anyone else stepping forward investigate thus far.
mytake..
thisis more about Jan 5th GA senate election than to help POTUS.
RINOs want GA senate votes on the 5th.
After that they will conspire to screw POTUS( we tried…but sadly failed despite best efforts).
Still..
this is sign of weakness from the RINOs .POTUS can and will expoloit it.
It does some good things 1. forces MSMS cover2. buys more time.
BUT…POTUS and his supporters in DC (does he have any ??) must start to drop the MOABs this week.
Ratcliffe report ? Where ?
Durham ?Where ?
NSA/MI ? Where ?
This election WAS stolen. People broke laws. Prove, identify, arrest.
The time for softly softly approach has passed. The survival of US and world democracy now demands confident, bold action.
Exactly. The purposeful dive is what I see coming too. But whatever happens ULTIMATELY let’s vow to be victorious.
Trump is the master of the impossible and the surprise. He also always makes lemonaide out of lemons. I hope he makes this a bumpy, bumpy ride for these outright thieves.
Spot on.
Cart/horse, calling for prosecutions and Justice, now.
I share your burning desire for miscreant perp walks, but reality is FIRST we have to wrest control of DOJ, etc. from those who control it, THEN we can pursue Justice.
And right now, McConnell holds the reins.
any repuplican senator who votes to certify joe biden may as well cross the aisle and join the democrats.
certainly cruz is smart enough to know that, and even if only in his self interest, back trump.
we will see.
Pretty sure the aisle is just a fake.
Anyone who won’t ask questions on January 6 is, imo, endorsing foreign interference, giving an easy an unearned win to Planned Parenthood, willingly electing a corpse as CIC, turning a blind eye to serious issues of election fraud, and is fine with calling normal people every insulting name that might manipulate them into sitting down. And they do not mind handing US money and influence at the UN over to a bunch of eugenics and abortion enthusiasts, who did not win their elections. No other pro-life vote matters as much as this one. There’s no more we can do, than we already did, by winning this election. There is no more that pro-life support for politics can do, than we just did.
There is no aisle anymore. Hasn’t been for decades.
Hence, “Uniparty”.
Adrem. I had a reply for Eagledriver.
It is gone?
Wipe Glenn Beck’s Cheeto dust off your face and do the right thing. Act as if you weren’t born with a silver gavel in your mouth.
Beck used Cruz and look where that got Beck. Cruz has worked his way back up. Time will tell.
Both sucked in 2016 and both still suck.
Cruz looks better w/out his I lost the election mid-life crisis beard. He really did turn out to be a huge disappointment, amazing how I was such a Teddy fan until Trump rolled in. I pray Cruz will be on America’s side. These people need to understand w/out America they are NOTHING.
Yeah, Cruz lost me when he went to the border to deliver welcome teddy bears with Glenn Beck to all the child traffickers. Then many other things like his endless H1B visa pushes for cronies. But there was a time when he seemed like such a breath of fresh air and I always want him to be the hard driving, relentless constitutional warrior he portrayed himself as when he came on the scene. Once we had a non politician hero you can never go back to the career snakes.
I just have to disagree a little. Cruz looks so much better with the beard!!!
If it hides that hideous smirk, i will agree with you.
Very hard to understand Pres. Trump putting his fate in the hands of Cruz, or even Hawley. That would be out-of-character. I’m still holding out hope for the great reveal which will irrevocably change things. Absent that I never believed we’d win this by relying on any gov’t institution. After all, the institutions, by definition, are controlled by the Establishment, and the Establishment since the 1960’s is liberal. But maybe Trump will still surprise us.
The objection raised in the joint session (by at least one Representative and at least one Senator) is only the first step. THEN, the objection must be SUSTAINED by a majority vote of the Senate *AND* by a majority vote of the House. And this process must be repeated separately for each battleground state. (See 3 USC 15)
you didn’t have to rub it in.
IMO, still better than nothing. At least get 12 hours of debate. Gives PDJT 12 more hours to drop the Big Ugly bomb.
The repubs objecting are likely doing so because they realize, whether they like it or not, Trump is the republican party at this point. I’d say about time! They may be only protecting themselves but at least the realization is there. The rest of the repubs are pretending not to know what everyone else knows.
The Great Suppression is more likely than the Great Reveal.
Just because Ted and senators say Trump is putting fate in their hands does not mean he is.
Did you notice President tweeted “thank you” to a list of these senators with Hawley FIRST, name above Cruz? Do you think it was accident “thank you” was used to show Cruz not at top of list leading charge at same moment commenters were blasting conservative comment sections and social media with the talking point “Ted Cruz Leading Senators….blahblahblah?
Correct, PDJT likely has his own plan but this gives him info on who he can trust (somewhat) in Congress. PDJT has a memory like an elephant. The other 41 or so repubs are stupid.
Ooof. I couldn’t read another comment without posting this link. I just can’t keep help thinking of the FREAK OUT with this line up. And Senator Cruz – Wiffle Ball is NOT the same as a game of real Baseball
What is Trump Preparing For? Leigh Dundas
She is spot on! This is a must watch video. We are at war! Publius Huldah said the same thing!
This is War: Trump Must Act to Stop The Fraud
In this explosive interview with The New American magazine’s Alex Newman, constitutional lawyer and former military attorney Joanna Martin (also known by her pen name as Publius Huldah) gives a lawful and constitutional roadmap for President Trump to defeat the 2020 election fraud and the effort to destroy America’s constitutional republic. After outlining how Congress, the Supreme Court, and even the executive have failed so far, Martin explains that Trump still has not just a right, but a duty to invoke the Insurrection Act. Article 4 of the Constitution requires the federal government to guarantee to every state a Republican form of government. And the Constitution also provides for the militia to execute the laws of the union and put down insurrections, both of which are required right now. Trump must act now, especially if Congress does not do its duty on January 6.

Here’s a thought for the rest of the quisling Republican Senators….
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.” Samuel Adams.
Hey it’s getting on nearly 300 years ago. Should Macron be motivated by Louis IVX? We love our past and our traditions and our history. But most Americans probably don’t know anything before say George Bush and don’t care. Look around. It ‘aint the same country anymore.
:-)…not caring fixes most political problems in favor of the left…. a strange co-incidence I’m sure
Louis XIV?
lol. Senior brain moment.
Yeah, you’re at the wrong site. We DO history, tradition and GOD in the Conservative movement. It’s bedrock. We learn from our past and know how to read. The failed illiterate and innumerate corrupt Left is past the door.
And the French love their history too. They’re quite proud of it, accused of being arrogantly proud of it at times. We can learn a lot from the French Revolution right now ourselves, we’re closer to that position at present than the American Revolution for a variety of reasons.
You know the Bible is full of history? Do you ignore it too? Even educated atheists understand its role in shaping the West.
No, sadly I love the West. I love the art and literature, cathedrals, paintings, music, architecture, law, blah blah blah. Just can’t find it anymore.
Someone once said that people coming to the US didn’t need to come from a western culture because they were offered the opportunity to adopt it, thereby belonging to it and receiving the precious gift of all the Christian West had accomplished. But few if any coming into the US in the last 50 years want it.
I know what you yearn for. I was merely saying the echoes of the past no longer resonate with the barbarians who are no longer just at the gate but among us. The way forward is never, ever going to be a return to a golden age in the past. Unfortunately that avenue is closed forever. I fear we will die in a place we don’t recognize in the slightest.
The meaning of the words is very relevant and can clarify where we need to be going. Those words never lose meaning for anyone if they take the time to read them and understand them. As good for 2020 as 1776. It was meant to be that way. Imo.
You don’t change because others want you to..
You create the illusion/deception of change when you feel other wanting you to..
Only Senator Tuberville has said what he feels and who he was before outside pressure. Senator Tuberville is the only one to support as the lead to force decepticons over the line.
If Cruz is described accurately.. then he must be offered an ego supporting transition.
Give Cruz this statement. ” Me and POTUS have not always got along, but we share the love for this country, and I would do anything for it.. today I come together as I have the past 2 years, but now more. We can’t hold personal grudges over our country’s interest… With this statement I vow to fight the theft election that is a violation of our constitution, and declare I will bring everyone one involved to Justice including the high courts if they betrayed America. Cowboy up America- we ain’t letting anyone touch our constitution without breaking their hands.
What you mean “if”, Kemosabe?
Yeah, and you being one Senator, pray tell how you will bring everyone to justice? Methinks he is full of himself, and yes, I did censor myself.
“ME and POTUS??? Good grief. Try POTUS and I.
I hope and pray that for once in our lives, we conservative supporters of our President Trump, can please put aside our differences and work together to make sure that our magnificent leader is inaugurated again on January 20th.
We NEVER see the Commie Dems attack one another. Never. One of their own can be guilty of murder, rape, you name it, but they will never even criticize. They ALWAYS stand up for one another, no matter what.
There is too much at stake this time- our Republic, our Constitution, our most cherished liberties and freedoms.
AS this article explains, we are already at Defcon 3:
https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2020/12/our_crisis_already_is_at_defcon3.html
Cruz has shown himself to be a lot more accommodating to the Trump agenda than the Cleveland speech would suggest. Perhaps the beard has put him in touch with his inner man. In any case, his legal skills make him a valuable advocate as this election approaches its January 6th climax..
As a well-known Second Amendment advocate says, “Any Stool in a Bar Fight.”
Don’t be dismissive of a US Senator.
The bearded Cruz is loyal to POTUS. What’s the name of the hair God that lost all strength once cut?
Samson
We should remember what caused the rub between Cruz and Trump. Attacking one’s family is personal, and attacking one’s family in Texas is fighting words. At any rate I am glad they both got over it.
Trump did say some horrible things about Cruz’s family. He shouldn’t have said them. I am from Texas too, but I was still very upset by what Cruz did at the convention. But right now, I am cheering for Cruz and will be calling his office to leave a message that I appreciate his decision to object on the 6th. I have been calling and emailing to encourage that decision. I wish he would educate the senior senator from my state. Cornyn just made a statement showing he doesn’t even know what our Constitution says. It makes me want to scream. I will continue to leave messages for him as well.
I emailed a thank you to Senator Cruz and have also let Cornyn know how disappointed I am in him. Representative Brady has really received an earful!!
Cornyn is dumb, and completely sold to his donors.
Remember when Ted’s superpac trashed Melania, pre-Trump posting pics of both wives?
Hmm, I do not remember…..how did Ted respond to his PAC doung that? Did he distance himself on the technicality that he was not connected to the pac? Or did he denounce the pac, telling them them to quit doing him the favor of supporting him?
The lawfare group are also brilliant legal minds who have used said brilliance to destroy the rule of law by using the law. I will trust Ted Cruz when his actions line up with his words. Speaking of which, any news on when Cruz will seize El Chapo’s assets?
You and Seneca are correct, circular firing squads is not a winning strategy. Good point gents, often gotta work with what you got.
Not entirely sure i get the “New York delegation” snark
Was it as simple as Trump’s from New York so he’s the hometown boy to the New York delegation?
There had been ongoing kerfuffle about “New York values”, was that in play in the snark?
Cruz implied on New Yorkers were cheering for trump at the convention
Only
Sorry, but I am afraid this will be another smoke and mirrors act like we have seen with the audits already performed by the states. Those chosen to perform the audits will conveniently not find any significant fraud, because they won’t be looking for it. It may very well be that, in the case of Georgia, those performing the audit are the very ones who created, or orchestrated, the fraud.
They won’t be looking for it. You mean like AG Barr?
It’ll come down to POTUS to present the irrefutable proof to the world in the end anyway. Hawley was the only patriot who stood up. The rest felt the pressure from irate ‘constituents’ and embarked on a virtuous signal once having cover of the others. However, glad they did step up.
Exactly! According to the expert witness Data Scientist, Dr. Pulitzer, auditing does diddley squat in finding fraud especially when almost all the original paper ballots that were adjudicated (in some cases, at rate of 90% or more), were destroyed so the original intent of the voter was also destroyed. All that you are doing in an audit is counting the fraudulent adjudicated ballots that support the fraudulent results. It is not going to prove fraud.
Yes in my opinion….
This is another way to get out news that the Uniparty stole the election.. but it by itself does nothing..
We have had investigation.. forensic analysis time and again.. some people know… the politicians don’t care..
THE ROT GOES ALL THE WAY DOWN TO SOME LOCAL LEVELS…
So this is not the final solution.. that will take years.. even if President Trump gets elected.. can he get an honest DOJ AG or a non corrupted FBI Director,,
The start of the final solution remains with the insurection act and Martial Law..
The massive demonstration in DC is IMHO a verification of us United States citizens that we want the rule of law back and the constitution honored.. letting the perps walk free has not worked before and not prosecuting will be the end of this nation..
MAGA
How do you know what they would be doing at this point? We don’t. What if it’s a forensic audit? What if the machines are forensically tested? Maybe the data experts and that Pulitzer guy will be involved? We don’t know what or who would be doing anything yet. Maybe we should let this play out before assuming so many things.
Maybe Ted has learned a lesson but his old running mate, Carly Fiorina, sure hasn’t.
I liked Fiorina until she opened her mouth. After the first debate I told my husband, ” I can’t look at that face for four years”. Trump was hammered for saying the same thing. I can’t speak for him, but I wasn’t talking about her looks, I was talking about her hectoring manner. She must have been the CEOnfrom hell.
and look what happened to the company !!!
Cruz announces his intention to oppose the nomination of Joe Biden.
Doesn’t this demonstrate his bona fides to you Sundance?
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/gop-senators-say-they-will-reject-election-results-unless-commission-is-formed/
No commission needed.
There has been plenty of evidence of fraud.
Just vote for Trump on January 6th.
good point! Big dif between opposing Biden and actually voting for Trump.
Gotta stay on the toes when Ted speaks his double speak that keep him technically saying one thing but really saying something else. His double speak often lets him claim speaking honestly, technically, when he is actually breathing dragon-level fires of hell-burning lies.
Actions speaks louder than words.
Commissions are only formed to bury the evidence.
Great quote. You are exactly right. It is a distraction tactic, too. And one to try to deflate the momentum of solidarity of Trump supporters and try to squelch their cold anger that is intensifying as January 20th rapidly approaches.
I for one am sick and tired of commissions and investigations that go nowhere.
I hope they don’t fall for a commission to investigate, because we all know what the outcome will be! NO FRAUD!
And they STILL think we’re stupid enough to fall for it. No one ever reconsiders his/her ways, or that there is anything to learn from us, the Great Unwashed.
Talk about stupid! Clueless.
I’m of the opinion that corruption actually makes a person stupid… Clever, calculating, sly, yes. Smart, no. It atrophies the godly innovative capacity, and substitutes instead defiled thoughts and an unwillingness to learn.
Did you READ Sundance’ Post?
Remember – NO RECESS APPOINTMENTS allowed. Cruz could have ended that.
Bingo, bingo, BINGO!!
“I INTEND to….,” is not, “I WILL oppose….”
Truth is CruzWill take care of Cruz. Lost faith in almost all of these so called public servants. He’s shown his lack of character in the past. Recital of the Constitution doesn’t mean you live it.
Lol…hind-site is always 20/20. Today, I am someone who would put my life on the line for President Trump however, I am also someone who know’s that Trumps initial support back in the primaries were primarily based on “he’s not a politician” but in reality he did not have foundational beliefs that could be trusted despite his cozy donation relationship with the opposition that were required based on greasing the skids for his business. The fact is the unmitigated hatred by Leftist politicians in the Democratic Party including the propaganda wing of the Democratic Party better known as the Mainstream Media created the very monster (in their minds) that they sought with the help of the never-Trumpers by pushing Trump politically into the political positions he holds today – thank God!
As someone who supported Cruz even after he was defeated by Trump I fully understand why Cruz did what he did after Trump politically attacked Cruz’s family not to mention what he branded Cruz as which was an outright lie. While it was an unwise decision and mistake by Cruz to do what he did, I certainly understand why he did it.
I hate it when people bring up the whole family shtick (libs seem to love bringing it up whenever Cruz supports Trump). People forget that Cruz struck the first blow, when his SuperPAC plastered Melania’s lewd (and decades old) modeling photos on billboards all over the state of Utah. What did Trump do in response? He retweeted a joke mocking Cruz’s wife (a response to the Cruz campaign)? That’s nothing in comparison. Cruz should be thankful Trump didn’t stoop to his level.
cruz was jealous
Cruz was trying to punch the best counter puncher ever. Didn’t work out well for Cruz. Lesson learned.
And remember that he tried to steal Carson delegates in the caucus states. Completely despicable.
I prefer “HIND sight is the FIRST thing you see, when you jerk your head oughta yer *ss!”
Not directed at anyone, just a little humor,…and truth.
that could be a “stinky” situation
Cruz sucked then. He sucks now. He will suck on Jan 6.
And he will NEVER be President.
I expect nothing good from the Zodiac Killer.
?
Redemption? You kidding? Cruz can’t WAIT to settle scores with PDJT for Cruz losing in the 2016 primary. Cruz AND his father are both nuts. This below from 2013, 3 years before, and he’s still not natural born, so there.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZihB5jBm7k
And where is the concern over Kamala Harris? A VP also has to be a natural born citizen but I hear no one complaining about her. . .who will likely take over when Biden resigns. At the same time Congress object to Biden electors they can also challenge the quals of Kamala Harris. If ignored the Constitution will just become more irrelevant going forward. She is NOT a natural born citizen!
and yet, in all 4 years of Pres Trump, Cruz has stood with him.
and yet, Pres. Trump asked Cruz to argue the Penn case b4 the Supremes.
Seems like Cruz already won his redemption, and then some.
Why? All he did was his job as a Republican Senator. Many other Senators have supported Trump from the beginning. Cruz should join with Josh Hawley if he wants any chance of a future in Republican politics!
He has nt stood byPresident Trump. Read transcripts. Double edged swords whenever accolades given to President Trump by Cruz.
And that’s why Trump asked him to argue the Penn case before the Supremes?
come on, man!
We don’t learn. We never learn. We just keep getting fooled over and over and over and …..
https://mobile.twitter.com/SenatorRomney/status/1345524258177478656
Traitor alert!
If you are going to complain about someones tone, abrasiveness or boorish behavior…how did Trump get elected? Cruz has a chance to prove much to the whole ciountry. Let’s see how this plays out., then b!tch about him.
Common, Ted Cruz, you got nothing to lose, except your slave to your leader, Mitch, or whatever his name may be, but Ted, think about those folks who have brought you in the power position, where you are contemplating what your next move will be. Don’t ever forget the old adage, dance with those who have brought here in the first place. Just an advice from an old friend who has considered you to be very caring despite all your shortcomings as many here have suggested here.
Ted the “Weasel” Wheeler. Good soldier of the Democommunist Party and huge in kind contribution to the Biden campaign, the gift of riots and chaos. Must be Trump’s fault, right. MSM agrees.
The political interests of any one senator, or of all of them, may not align with the political interests of President Trump. It’s a feature of the system, not a glitch.
Expecting noble actions from a McConnell or a Cruz – where have you been for the last 5 years?
I pray every day, and I’ll be there on the 6th, but the entirety of the burden is on President Trump to effectuate his second inauguration.
I chuckle though, that the GOP is really this stupid.
I see it as more running out the clock, and let Biden win!
My biggest problem with Ted Cruz is his allegiance to his mostly allopathic medically affiliated family, has caused a blindness to the dangers of vaccines, and he will not vote to protect our right to be free from mandated vaccines. I know this because I received a letter from him stating this.
When I vote, my top priority is God, Medical freedom and the Constitution.
Not to mention his wife is CFR.
Cruz is likely McConnell ‘s tool to create Kabuki Commission that forcibly shoves Biden down America’s throat. I am disgusTED.
I was a Cruz fan for years until February 2016, when his behavior at the time of some negative press and stories leaked about his wife revealed to me that he did NOT have the temperament and personality necessary to win, especially against the cheating, the murdering (3 or 4 high profile deaths that summer), and the massive fraud of the Hillary juggernaut. I appreciate the trip down memory lane about the RNC goings-on because by that time Cruz was beyond dead to me and I had written him off. I remember being more concerned about Cuccinelli emails to us trying to undermine Trump DURING RNC week.
I can appreciate Cruz’s intellect without going googly at the thought of him in the WH. Again, I say he does NOT have the temperament to be president and has shown an extremely dislikable side.
I find your lack of context disturbing. If not for 9 MILLION cross-over voters, “THE HAG QUEEN” would have won her second term this past November. The “BASE” did not trust our now favorite President at the time…AND WITH A MULTITUDE OF VERY GOOD REASONS. He used to be a DEMOCRAT. He gave money to his PRESIDENTIAL OPPONENT and many DEMOCRATS we now face in “THE BATTLE OF SWAMPAGEDDON” to this very day. President’s Trumps “GOVERNANCE” changed that political equation.
Ted Cruz has been the REAL DEAL and was BEFORE the trip down the escalator. After having one last Phone call with “BILL CLINTON” the now POTUS made his announcement. Cruz is with the TEA PARTY and other CONSERVATIVE ALLIES at 90-95%. Some like Marco Rubio, another target of misguided “MALARKEY” is 80-85% with us as well. In fact the TEA PARTY and most on our side WANTED A CRUZ/RUBIO ….”OHR”….A RUBIO/CRUZ TICKET. For a variety of reasons. In the end we chose PRESIDENT TRUMP. But he DID NOT have the entire “BASE” until he earned their trust.
Ted Cruz is a WARRIOR. To hold a grudge about the convention, “OHR…OHR”, tiny policy differences to attack our own plays right into the hands of those we are opposed to now. One more thing. Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, nor any others, CANNOT request Joe Biden and Senator Harris to the WHITE HOUSE SITUATION ROOM for a briefing and reveal every bit of DAMNING EVIDENCE our side and our President claim to have. A Biden concession is the only TRUE WAY out of this situation and usher in “THE CORRECTION OF THE ELECTION”.. Only the current President and Vice-President can do that. And….if we and they REALLY have the goods. CALL “OHR” FOLD.
IT’S TIME. If not? We will need the likes of Ted Cruz more than ever before. Other than that….HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU.
DEPLORABLE JEDI.
Who would have ever believed that people would be posting this kind of post supportive of Teddy and dismissive of PDJT at the Treehouse?
Nuts are running wild but at least they arent running the asylum yet.
Conservatives don’t believe in CANCEL CULTURE.
“NUTS”!
Exactly.
DEPLORABLE JEDI.
You obviously don’t know Ted Cruz.
The same guy who created Fast Track trade promotion authority (with Paul Ryan) for Obama to use in getting TPP passed in the senate.
The same guy who went to the border to give teddy bears and soccer balls to illegal aliens and then demanded that all unaccompanied minors get free passes for life.
The same guy who hides behind cloture votes, and then votes against bills he just supported with cloture votes, in order to fool the sheeple Cruzbot masses.
It’s a programming thing… and Cruz is skilled at the art of programming because his father was similarly skilled.
The same guy, “Lyin’ Ted” who lied about Ben Carson saying he dropped out the Iowa Primary the day of the primary vote so people wouldn’t vote for him? That Ted?! This smells rotten. It’s got all the earmarks of deep state gamesmanship written all over it! It looks like this is an attempt to get Pence off the hook to do anything. Appears Pence is already starting to hedge. Also may be an attempt to simmer what could be an explosive day in DC on Wednesday.
Bingo.
I know Ted Cruz is with us 90% of the time.
YOU CAN’T HAVE EVERYTHING.
WHERE WOULD YOU PUT IT?
DEPLORABLE JEDI.
time to take stock!
has ANYONE had the notion or the balls to even question VP Biden what HE IS PLANNING TO DO in this election?
seems to me, no matter how this goes down, it would be necessary to get a committment from VP Pence right now.
and here is why….pay attention…this is another aspect of the BIG UGLY that is worth ever effort to understand and then to take action after:
Pence was “installed/selected” because he could draw the evangelical votes. he was the “perfect” choice for that purpose. But of course, we also know he was chosen because of his deep political relationships with MANY officials in DC whom have a stated aimed agenda to ruin this President. I would imagine, just hypothetically, there were many people just yearning that Trump would either be impeached and removed or would seriously ill from covid later on, that Pence could ride out the rest of the term. This never happened, but I am absolutely convinced MANY RNC/GOP people were anxious to see that happen.
So why has there been NO EFFORT to get an interview from Pence RIGHT NOW and have him make a committment about what he plans to do about the fraud and irregularities of this election.
I understand the Gohmert strategy. That’s legal. it does NOT place Pence in the button for a committment. It “edges” the central issue.
I, for one, would be delighted to see someone…anyone ….put a microphone in front of Pence right now, and ask him this simple question:
“Given the fraud and irregularities proven and provided by experts, what are you plans to resolve these disputes? What it YOUR authority and power and how will you USE IT, to deal with illegal and illegitimate votes ?”
why ask these questions? this is important. It’s about informing the evangelical voters to become better more informed citizens. They have traditionally voted for such people as Pence, because of the appearance as a blue blooded christian. I do believe that is worthy, but it is worth inspecting for misplaced trust…Much like branding. The Levi’s jeans I wore as a kid were superior in every way to the quality of the same brand today. Why continue to buy Levi’s. It’s just a name. Likewise, If I am LOOKING for a solid moral consistent leader who has demonstrated christian values..I am looking at performance. How has Pence PERFORMED? What can we expect when the most critically important decision requiring unconditional christian moral and ethical values are challenged?
So we need to ask these questions.
we have a country to keep. Informing the christian evangelical voters about the nature of the DC politics that has long abused their trust MUST BE MADE CLEAR RIGHT NOW.
Then maybe…just MAYBE…we can take a shot ALONG WITH PRESIDENT TRUMP to LEAD American citizens with TRUTH, HONOR, and DIGNITY. For these are the values they seek. Let’s give that to them. Let’s do it because WE KNOW.
God Bless America
I think if Pence is on the side of the Constitution and righteousness, he will not let the enemy know what the moves will be. And if, as many of us suspect but hope not, he is on the side of the destruction of this Republic, he would not reveal those plans either. Either way, we’ll have to “wait and see what happens”.
fair enough…I still think it would be enormously valuable, not only to lawful legitimate voters who raced to get trump in office TWICE…but also place a clear marker before congress…buck stops here…
I would still like to see the questions asked.
seriously, there is NO ONE on planet Earth by now, that does not realize the power of the Vice President to correct this fraud and irregularity…this is IT…there are no more mysteries.
trust me..the corruptors have already built quite a formidable challenge to that power…we see it already in the high courts…and we shall see it in congress in both house and senate.
we KNOW what Vice President MUST DO…?
there is ZERO DOWNSIDE to announcing what powers he will bring to bear to ensure a fair, legal outcome to this disaster dumpter rot.
just the way I see it.
it’s like 4 quarter…4 seconds, 4th down…trailing by 2 points and you are on the 20…
every single person in the world KNOWS you are going to kick the damn ball….it’s the only play left that can win the game.
President Trump never shares all of his plans or shows all of his cards. Why then would you want V.P Pence to reveal something like that? I believe he is following directions from President Trump.
I think he has performed very well. Is he a counter puncher like President Trump? No. But I am not all that sure that President Trump was really a committed Christian before he won the election, but he knew he needed the Christian vote. I believe the V.P. Pence was a godly Christian influence on President Trump, and I am very grateful for that. Having a Christian friend to mentor you in areas that you are not knowledgeable in is very important. Would V.P. Pence be a good choice for president? Probably not, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been very beneficial and important to President Trump’s success as president and personally as a Christian.
Here at the Treehouse we frequently mention how God placed President Trump in this position to turn our nation back from destruction. Well I think God placed V.P. Pence in the very position he is in to help President Trump see up close what it means to live life as a godly Christian man. God absolutely cares about how nations are run, but praise God, He also absolutely cares about each individual soul. It very well could have been the personal influence on President Trump for why V.P. Pence was in office with him.
Praying for God’s favor to be poured out on both President Trump and V.P. Pence, and all those in our government that are willing to stand up for what is right.
Praying for God to show Himself mighty on our behalf. Praying for this mountain of lies and corruption to be swept into the sea and for our nation to once more be a nation that worships Almighty God and seeks to do His will.
If Pence does not do the right thing I will criticize him then. I can’t fault him for not publicly saying what he is going to do. No use in showing the enemy your battle plans before you attack, lest they attack you first.
Pence has no courage under pressure. https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/dont-ever-forget-mike-pence-threw-religious-liberty-under-bus/
We have long memories. Pence gutted the Indiana RF Act within a week, a law that was specifically designed to protect business owners of faith from the predation of the militant homosexuals. Just gutted the whole thing.
Cowardice. Then and now.
Reposting here what I earlier posted on the “Sen. Cruz Leads Group…” topic slightly earlier today. Tighter cohesion with the present topic.
Cruz is a smart guy, but he may be dense in other ways. To not recognize his own shortcomings in comparison to Trump during the 2016 election, or to know them but persist nonetheless to proclaim his (Cruz’s) superiority to Trump, speaks to either his cognitive abilities or his character. Given that his cognitives are on display for his achievements, it remains that it speaks to his character. Sometimes, maybe, people can improve their character after a learning experience. I’m unsold as to Cruz on that matter.
That said, Cruz has at this moment a HUGE opportunity to erase his 2016 performance and rebaseline his standing with Americans. Given his bonafides in the arena of Supreme Court litigation, he comes equipped, if he so desires, to lend great credence to Trump’s legal positions on the constitutional issues that lie at the center of this entire debacle. If Cruz says, “Trump is clearly on solid ground.”, “The allegations of electoral fraud are immense, credible, widespread, and redound to Trump’s favor so overwhelmingly that Trump IS the uncontested winner, but for the states’ illicit certification processes.”, and “I will see to it that the Constitution will be respected and strictly adhered to as I set about to prove the foregoing statements.”, then Cruz will be right up there as one of the few who will have stood in the face of despotism and did his part to spare us the messy aftermath.
It’s there for him to run with it. Let’s see what kind of man he really is. I can’t believe an egotist of his caliber would even consider bending the knee for McConnell.
Good post and well stated. You should write that to Cruz so he could use that for his opening argument. ?
Never commented before. However, what is the best way to deal with thousands of pro Trump supporters January 6? Push the certification off with a ten day evaluation of evidence. They go home happy. Then go ahead and certify Biden January 17 because we looked and didn’t see evidence. The thousands of supporters won’t be back and it can be quietly done. Does this explain Cruz and others coming out of the woodwork at this late date? I just don’t have much trust in them.
Thanks. That is my fear as well.
For a first post…awesome!
This is fair analysis.
Even as an Australian I had the time series tally data downloaded just days after the election. The solid evidence of massive electoral fraud was undeniable.
Cruz has had 2 whole months to speak up, then at the last moment asks for a “commission” that would just push back the acceptance of electoral votes until Trump supporters have left DC.
He hasn’t changed. He’s still fighting for a Uniparty win against Trump.
My goodness everyone here seems to be giving up on anything that has come down today. Cruz is bad. He won’t do the right thing. It’s all a head fake. Hawley is being pushed out. On and on. Pence is not going to do the right thing. He has been anti Trump all along etc etc.
I’m actually kind of shocked at the negativity of it all tonight. Maybe, just maybe we should be getting a glimmer of hope here that things just might have turned around a little for us and for PTrump. I don’t hear him saying all this stuff about what’s going on. He tweeted in a positive way all their names -the Senators-didn’t he? I believe he did.
Come on. We have people in the House and Senate who are making this a public issue. That alone should be welcome because the media has been keeping the information on the fraud as hidden as possible from the public and/or dissing the heck out of the little they have let out. Now they will be forced to say more especially if a delay happens. Imo, this is big. More people will be made aware of what has been going on. What comes of it all remains to be seen but at least this is better than what we had going on a few days ago which was pretty much nothing. Let’s see how it goes. Head to Dc if possible and keep the pressure on every elected official on the repub side that you can. MAGA.
Very astute.
Personally I think Senator Cruz has redeemed himself the last few years.
Cruz owes his re-election to Trump and Ted knows it’s true. If this gambit works, winning helps Trump as well as Cruz. I bet Cruz would like a SCOTUS nomination but he would be most effective at replacing McConnell.
I need no reminder — I was at the convention as an alternate for Donald Trump.
I remember well how lyin’ Ted’s people twisted, turned and schemed to do dirty deeds in the background. I remember (and probably still have) lots of emails from lyin’ Ted’s people where they told his supporters how to do dirty deeds to get him nominated, and these people followed Ted’s orders as if they had no concern for the Christ they professed to serve. I remember well how lyin’ Ted’s people — spread throughout the convention center in Cleveland, Ohio — all wore their yellow Teddy shirts and walked out and walked in together as if to make a yuge statement while the convention was underway. Oh yeah, you made a statement alright, you’re as pitiful as the dickhead who later in the convention couldn’t bring himself to support the nominee, Donald J. Trump.
Yeah, I’m still angry at how dirty, disgusting and ugly the swamp is, because I know it truly starts right outside my door.
Conservatism was being used as a weapon against other Conservatives. That’s what I saw and vehemently rebuked the Teddy crowd about it.
I said, “This is NOT about Conservatism!” But, they didn’t understand. Conservatives are known to never back down from the truth and that’s fine. I’m a Conservative too, but I’m not stupid! Trump was perfect for what we needed at that time.
He’s a bad-ass MF’er and was smacking everybody around….didn’t matter who the hell they were. All that mattered was the truth! That’s a real man right there. Paid his own way the whole time and doesn’t even take a check today.
That’s Conservative enough for me.
This just in…Lindsey Graham promised to hold hearings on the 2020 election. ?
With an ocean going vessel crewed by Trump voters, charts to the Marianas Trench, chains and concrete blocks, I could see Miss Lindsay finally “getting to the bottom” of something.
Yes, right after he holds those hearings about Spygate.
Thank you Sundance. I was so damn angry with him listening to this shit. Our own Conservatives around my area were doing the same thing. Down playing Trump in the name of Cruz. It took them the entire first year of his Presidency before they finally started believing me.
Now…they are all back to doing the same thing. Trump lost….Biden won. (These are Trump supporters who voted for him.) People are just blind sometimes. And deaf.
I will send this article to them as a reminder….but I expect nothing but crickets in return.
Maybe Ted Cruz will self-detonate again while planning to blow President Trump up. See CTH previous article about Cruz et al and the GOPe.
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2021/01/02/senator-ted-cruz-leads-group-of-republican-senators-to-join-josh-hawley-in-opposition-to-electoral-certification/
the other side of the coin.
these people are self-centered.
maybe he see’s a chance to be remembered…forever.
anyone on jan 6th who stands up to this theft will be remembered…forever.
if you don’t think that might play apart in this…your crazy.
love of country…yes.
love of freedom…yes.
love of constitution…yes.
to be remembered FOREVER…as a patriot…you damn right they would.
After watching that again, can anyone trust Ted Cruz? OMG, it is worse than I remember.
Am I missing something here?
Ted has come up and said he is going to contest the election. Ted was my second choice.
I dont like the guy, but I aint hiring him to drink beer with me. I wont argue with his ability to govern or Constitutional knowledge.
Yeah, he was against Trump, and NOBODY says the other guy is better than him during a campaign. If anything, I give him credit for going down swinging. Once he was knocked down though, he got up and got behind Trump.
I didnt vote for Trump for his ability. I voted for trump because I dont have the means to drop a thermonuclear device on Washington D.C. Trump was the next best option and he didnt disappoint.
But Cruz was the best option governance/politician wise.
Now that’s is amusing…
Would Pres Ted have:
Started complete withdrawal from Afghanistan and Iraq and Syria? Not a chance.
Begun the forced repatriation of US manufacturing industry from Asia / Mexico/ Canada to continental USA. Not even a twinkle in his eye.
Run Main St as more important than Wall St for record working class job numbers …all races. Nah, Ted is still captured by K Street.
Build a border wall…500 miles to date…decimated illegal alien “immigrants”. No, Ted likes illegals and open borders.
“Cruz was the best option governance/politician wise”. Bwaaa….only if you’re UniParty.
Ted Cruz is a smart guy and an impressive wit, who sometimes comes across as likable, but I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him.
If he cared about America he would never seek the Presidency.
If he cared more for the nation than for his ambition, he’d acknowledge the damage done by the rank imposter who hid his identity and was allowed to usurp the Presidency and inflict untold harm upon the rule of law in America, and would never consider using that bastardization of the office as precedent for himself to try and exploit.
Ted might make a good Senate leader. I’d take him over Mitch any day.
I try and be supportive of Senator Cruz, despite his past sins, and he has a lot to offer, but one further word from him about his own presidential ambitions and it’s over, as far as I’m concerned.
Well said. I will never forgive him for that.
He is an opportunist.. and politics is his market.. it’s all about flying in the jet stream..
he will go with whatever his metrics say..
but we are in a “flying by the seat of your pants” situation..
..so adjust accordingly..
Does having a commission give the Supremes cover to punt?
I just got home from a gathering of friends around a firepit.
One is a conservative reporter. He says Trump is out/done.
I didn’t expect him to say that– just the opposite.
He said Trump got played, bamboozled and he thinks the House and Senate Rs objecting on Jan 6 is just a charade.
He thinks someone better, more skilled w/ the right temperament will come along in the future & succeed w/the populist movement where PDJT failed.
I said I think he’s wrong. Trump WILL pull this off… but I’m not feeling good about this.
Trump said: “we CAUGHT them all.” He could not be just saying crap unless he knows these seditionists will be brought to justice. He can’t just let them return to power more emboldened and dangerous than b4.
“Conservative” reporter?
SE Cupp or George Will? Juan Williams perhaps?
Neither SE Cupp nor George Will are conservatives … and Williams is a dem.
Yes, my friend is genuinely conservative so I was really disappointed and surprised by his view … and worried maybe he is right and I am delusional one.
Still, i will be on the Elipse Jan 6 b/c I have faith that in the most critical thing — election, justice, saving the Republic, The President will not fail the nation.
Re Ty Cobb. I remember reading an Imprimus years ago that laid out the pro Ty Cobb case. Apparently the negative Cobb arose from a single 1961 Sports Illustrated defamatory article. It was said he was a hated and racist man and that no one came to Cobb’s funeral. In fact, at the family’s request attendees were greatly restricted but there was a two mile long stretch of the road lined by Cobb fans to show respects; Cobb came from a noted N. Ga. anti-slavery family and he promoted the same; he was voted by the Chicago White Sox as the greatest of their opponents. I can’t remember much of the article but it flattened the untruths of the S.I. article. It did some serious rehabilitating.
FTA: The Imprimus issue was March 2016. It was a True Magazine not Sports Illustrated article. Cobb was voted the all time most popular opponent by the White Sox. Much much more in the Imprimus issue.
