Most CTH readers are likely aware of the term “deplatforming.” Unfortunately, the big tech control mechanism to shut down speech & assembly has now arrived on our doorstep.
One week after the 2020 presidential election, The Conservative Treehouse received the following notification:
…”given the incompatibility between your site’s content and our terms, you need to find a new hosting provider and must migrate the site by Wednesday, December 2nd.
What does this mean? It means CTH is being kicked-off the WordPress website hosting platform because the content of our research and discussion does not align with the ideology of those who define what is acceptable speech and what is not.
What was our violation? After ten years of brutally honest discussion, opinion, deep research and crowdsourcing work -with undeniable citations on the events we outline- there is no cited violation of any term of service because CTH has never violated one.
The WordPress company is not explaining the reason for deplatforming because there is no justifiable reason for it. At the same time, they are bold in their position. Perhaps this is the most alarming part; and everyone should pay attention. They don’t care.
Truthful assembly is now the risk. CTH is now too big; with a site reach of 500,000 to a million unique readers each day; and with well over 200,000 subscribers; our assembly is too large, too influential, and presents a risk… we guard the flickering flame.
Ten years of work assembling a library of factual citations and explanations of those discoveries, positions CTH to be a leading force in the rebel alliance push-back. [Heck, that’s why this place was started… that was our purpose: “The Truth Has No Agenda.”] However, that also makes us a target; hence the deplatforming.
Accepting -at its core- this move is all about politics, this is yet another reference point in the tenuous nature of where we stand. There’s no hate-speech on this website; there’s no graphic, violent, foul or abusive speech here. The ‘content‘ of the Treehouse is the same discussion that happens around your kitchen table or back porch discussion with friends. We would never cheapen or insult that conversation with vulgarity because that’s not who we are… because that’s not who our nation is. So consider this next part very carefully…
The ‘content’ is not compatible with WordPress, the world’s largest website and blog hosting service. The content within the largest blog on that global platform is what has become troublesome. “The content”.
The content on these pages is simply an ongoing discussion about freedom with criticism against any political party or entity that diminishes it. Apparently, immediately after the 2020 election, that discussion became problematic. After writing about the COVID-19 agenda,…the notification: the website will be removed.
Let that settle in…. friends and adversaries alike. Think very hard about what exactly is being represented by these actions. That’s the bad news.
So what are we going to do?
First three priorities: #1 is the security of the site content and research files with over a decade of work; #2) ensuring the ability of our assembly to remain; #3) continue the mission.
In the past several days I have begun contacting people to inform and gather counsel on what is the best course of action. On a very positive note, the Rebel Alliance is stronger than ever and no amount of effort by Big Tech is going to be able to weaken the resolve or block the message.
We will take this challenge head-on and we will use this attack against our freedom as fuel to launch CTH 2.0, a new version of The Conservative Treehouse.
I have no idea yet what it will look like… hopefully not too dissimilar to what we are already comfortable with. However, a lot has changed in the technological world since 2010/2011. There are many new and innovative ways to develop, build and create proprietary platforms.
I don’t like anything about having to be forced to do this. Readers here know I prefer comfortable quality that lasts a long time; but there is no alternative. We are being kicked-off WordPress and will have to assemble on a platform that allows free expression, free thought and free ideas to be shared, valued and appreciated.
Additionally, as I look at preliminary options for Treehouse 2.0, one guiding element is priority: I will continue to work earnestly to be deserving of your support and fellowship.

There are certain influencers, in my life, who have crossed the line and I’m am attacking these people at great risk to my income and maybe further. Perhaps this has already been said, but I’ll put this here anyway. There are hundreds of “distributed processing” apps that run on a farm of donated servers. These are the descendants of the famous “SETI@Home” project out of Berkeley. People donate a portion of their internet bandwidth and computer time to work on public projects.
Is there any good reason why a web server system cannot be built using an anonymous distributed server architecture? Surely there exists sufficient encryption to protect the individuals donating processing power, running the code in a protected virtual server environment invisible to the donor except for slightly decreased computer performance. Most computers only use single digit percentages of their capability anyway.
Doing this in a distributed farm would make it highly robust, resistant to attack, and practically impossible to put down. Does this exist already? If not, some programmers out there stand to make a serious contribution to the cause of freedom.
There is no technical reason why we should all be held hostage to the web hosting service. It could be designed the same way as the DarkNet as well, eliminating any dependence on the DNS.

Breach of contract? Tortious interference with business relationships? Emergency preliminary injunction? There ??? to be a way to start fighting back in a way that gets their attention, i.e., through their pocketbooks in the form of legal fees. Does WordPress use a generic adhesionary contract with one-sided boilerplate terms or are users able to negotiate the terms? It is time for users to start fighting back against big tech and these outrageously one-sided contracts. Enough law suits get filed and eventually someone will have the right set of facts to persuade a judge that this is not an arms-length transaction.

I’m surprised they gave you until December. Perhaps they are waiting to see the intensity of the blowback. Perhaps we should give them some.
So impressed with the many good ideas and suggestions coming from the quiet expertise of CTH branch sitters. The advantage of desperate times is that it forces you into understanding things that were easy to skim over before. Oh, no! Not another Learning Experience! This is sickening. I have been following this site for awhile. I would not be politically if it was not for this site. I have spent much time going back through old posts and comments to understand things. I have just started commenting on here.
These last few weeks have been split between seeing hope and seeing hope fade away.

We know what and who did with Russia story last four years but nothing happened.

Wow, WordPress is really throwing at us everything they got. I have been trying to ‘follow’ the blog, just to add to the number of subscribers, and it keeps rejecting me, blaming ‘invalid email address’. Mind you, I know my email addresses, and I just tried 3 separate ones – each one being refused as ‘invalid’. The scope of this suppression and discrimination has just blown my mind.
On a separate note, I noticed starting about a week before the election, and still ongoing, all my emails from the TRUMP camp (and there are numerous, sometimes 8-10 per day) have been getting dumped into my Junk box – without my ever changing or setting new filters. Wander why??
The overreach of these technological tentacles is infuriating.
If we let this election be stolen, out country be stolen, we do not deserve to have a country, and we won’t.

If you don’t already have a replacement for your existing host, you might want to consider Dreamhost at https://www.dreamhost.com/hosting/shared/ to replace your existing hosting, based on a 16 August 2017 statement by Mr. Brett Dunst, a Dreamhost spokesman, who stated: “Our longstanding policy, one that has been in place since we began in 1997, has been that we will host any website as long as its content is legal in the United States of America… We will take action when approached by law enforcement to remove websites that are operating unlawfully, but we do not otherwise impose restrictions on customer content. Regarding a wordpress install under your hosting, you can tell the wordpress hosting site, that’s deplatforming you, to go pound sand. WordPress is open source software licensed under the GNU public license: https://wordpress.org/about/license/ The GNU public license explicitly states you are free to do anything you want with the licensed software and your only commitment is that anyone who receives the software from you has those same rights.

I understand that ‘AdLocal’ is a newer host that is in the process of acquiring RedState Radio and they are committed to providing a safe and secure platform for free speech. Just receintly our 2,500 member email list was ‘deactivated’ on MailChimp without warning. I have just signed up with AdLocal but have gone no further as yet. It is quite possible that ALL rebel communications may be taken down as the election results come forward and our President is declared the winner.

What is the Cloud Act?
If you are not familiar with the “Clarifying Lawful Overseas Use of Data Act or CLOUD Act (H.R. 4943)” (aka the Cloud Act) from 2018 it is really really BAD for your security and your privacy. Because, if you are a person or company with lawful behaviors, someone with immature behavior into one of the many spy agencies could use the Cloud Act to demand access to data stored on servers hosted by US based tech firms with head office in the United States (U.S.), including their servers located overseas.
For example, if you choose Amazon as a host, as you know their head office is within the Cloud Act, but what if you use an Amazon datacenter in Europe? Well any U.S. federal law enforcement can use a warrant or subpoena to get you data stored on servers regardless of whether the data are stored in the U.S. or on foreign soil. WITHOUT notifying you and WITHOUT any legal representation for you. The Cloud Act is much much much worst than the “Patriot Act”. Weak privacy? With security?

Disheartening on a first read, but here is the deal. What is happening right now with the election, Twitter vs Parlour, Facebook vs MeWe, Fox News falling to Newsmax and OANN, is a paradigm shift that we need to embrace, not despair. There are 72+ million of us, plus our children, who are simply not welcome in the world the far left controls. We have not been like the Left, de platform INT and cancelling and boycotting like they do. It’s time to accept the country as it is and create our own spaces.

Just this weekend I was suddenly informed that I’ve been kicked out of a writers’ group because of a secret complaint showing that I posted an unspecified offensive thing on a social media site, that violated unspecified rules. A podcaster also yanked a story of mine from his site because he’d realized I have done some unspecified wicked thing. So I sympathize! I’m worried I’m not going to be allowed to publish my books or otherwise find an audience. I hope you can find another way to continue your work, and fight for freedom of speech as the darkness closes in.
