What’s going on out there?
The geographical center of Chicago: voted at 2:30 or so local time. I think 1 or 2 precinct workers outside polling place (a low figure) and no wait to vote. I do know that many, many Chicagoans vote early, but I do not trust the system enough to vote early. It is too much to hope for that President Trump will carry Illinois, but there is an independent running for US Senate, who might take enough votes from Dick Durbin to let the R candidate squeak in.
A plea: do not give you eyeballs to any of the atrocious networks carrying election returns. Follow online, or wait until the morning. None of the networks deserve to be thought of as respectable enough that they might be worthy of your time.
That would be Bridgeport. No, wait! That’s McKinley Park. 75% to 85% Democrat, mostly Hispanic. Several people called into the Dan Proft show today and said the polls in the city were mostly empty. That doesn’t bode well for the Democrats! They’ll still sweep Illinois but that’s a big chunk missing from the popular vote. And I’ll warn you right now: Kim Fox is going to win. She pays for her voters.
I watched the returns in 2016 on Fox Business. FBN gets its date from Fox News, of course, so couldn’t call the race until early morning, but they’re business people and when the stock market started tanking (investors didn’t know how good Trump would be for the economy) they started signaling that “something is going on”. I intend to watch FBN again tonight (if they cover it. They may have had a “talking to” from Paul Ryan). Nothing could entice me to watch Fox News. If FBN isn’t carrying (and I haven’t looked) then I’ll “watch” on the Treehouse.

The Dem club selected Biden because a Sanders candidacy would have guaranteed a down-ballot wipeout. America is not a Marxist country. Full stop. Biden was never expected to win, which is why he hardly campaigned and they picked a nobody loser for VP that they could burn. No, this is just their turn-out for election day.
As of 4:20 p.m. Eastern Standard, Wakulla County, Florida reports that a total of 6031 D ballots were cast and a total of 8892 R ballots were cast. There have been 2362 NPA ballots cast (no party affiliation). I was NPA for YEARS and always voted R. A lot of those NPAs are Trump votes (and probably some of the D votes, too!)

We seem to have plenty of polling stations around me…district splits, I guess. There are two within walking distance from my house. Mine is generally quiet mid-morning and mid-afternoon, but wasn’t sure what to expect this year. I voted at 3:38 PM Eastern. Three voters were there, including my son and me. The other guy was a good friend. Waltzed in and out in a few minutes.
I asked the poll worker guy at the door if they’d been busy. He said before lunch was very busy and they expect it get wild again around 5. That made me feel better, even though I was glad I didn’t have to wait. A friend is a poll watcher at the other one nearby. I’ll have to ask what traffic was like there.
Son and I voted straight Red. I didn’t ask, but I’d bet the only other voter did too. I know him well.

I voted at a country school, in a sub-suburb of a small SoDak city that’s consistently conservative, at the typically slow hours of late morning. First time that I’ve ever had to stand in line for more than a few minutes. What that means is: Be-no complacency. We’re all in.

Long line in South Carolina, longer than 2016, but a little deceiving because it was spaced out to exceed the Chinese Cooties’ jumping limit of 5′-6″. One hour from end of the line to the front of the line. The woman in front of me wondered how long it would take. I said “I’ll wait all day if needed.” She responded “So will I!” Kindred spirits.
The poll workers had the process running very efficiently. After presenting my photo ID, they studied it and my face to confirm the match and gave me a blank ballot and a long Q-tip swab to stab the touchscreen on the voting machine. The machine then printed the ballot and I was led to another machine that recorded and ate it. I walked out with my “I voted” sticker and my Q-tip swab and thought about sticking it up my nose while I walked past the line of people still waiting to vote. “Watch out! If you vote Democrat, they stick this up your nose to see if you really have any brain cells in your head!” Instead, I smiled quietly and walked by sans mask.

Voted at 2 in the afternoon in a Republican town on the MA/RI border. No one in front of us and I don’t think there was anyone following us. Must have been four or five stations in the room and it contained mostly poll people. Everyone cheerful. Indoor masks and the person I chatted with kept hers below her nose. All the signholders outside were for local candidates. No signs for Biden OR for Trump. Polling place was a grammar school but, not having children, I don’t know if kids are in school in MA now or not.
Voting is so important to me that I actually thought about voting in advance, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. One advantage of self-quarantine is that I figured I was unlikely to be hit by a truck and miss the chance to vote for Trump. So waited and giggled my way thru the process and thanked everyone for being there on my happy day.
I should have mentioned ballot safety. There was none. I did wave to city hall workers I recognized, but no one asked me for any ids or checked me against any other list. I did feel a wave of gratitude that no one thought I’d already voted. When I tried to put my ballot in after marking it, the machine got finicky and I let the worker put it in with the Trump vote side up. She was better at it and insisted that I wait and watch the window that showed I successfully voted. Did I mention this is a Republican town in a Dem state?

Happily voted for President Trump today in liberal Chicago. Beautiful weather low 60’s, clear blue skies. Perfect weather for voting right? My voting precinct was a elementary school practically on DePaul’s Lincoln Park campus. No lines at all. More poll workers inside at the time I went in.
I had to register today because the IL DMV is a total joke and turned me away prior to the online deadline. If every polling station was like mine, we would never have to worry about election integrity. Professional, friendly, easy to use. No shenanigans or biases. I saw a staffer’s car with a Biden Harris bumper sticker but you never would have known it.
There is no outward enthusiasm here for Biden. Even if people voted early or by mail, you’d think you’s see them pumped up wearing Biden gear around, excited for tonight’s results. Nothing. Not Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Boystown, or Wrigleyville. The only area that has clusters of Biden support is the Northwest side of the city west of Western Ave. I’ve seen about 25 Biden Harris items – three flags , bumper stickers and signs. Two of the flags were in Lakeview.
If you are in downstate Illinois and think your vote won’t matter, GET OUT AND VOTE! It matters this year. Over a thousand have moved out of the city since this Summer.

There are issues in Mt. Greenwood this morning being turned away b/c they “already voted via mail”. Also, people were given sharpies will may invalidate the ballots. Very suspicious. But I agree, it was uneventful here. I little busier than normal, but I chalk it up to people wanting to get done before all hell breaks loose.
I hope this holds in Fairfax, VA. One of my guesses is that even Dem voters are ticked at the Far-left radicals that run the state and their county, especially the school districts.

Yes, the hope is the D’s peaked in EV/mail-in, then high R turnout on election day will carry the state. This is what is happening today in Florida. Dem’s led through EV, then Rs erased the lead and will finish the day 200,000+ votes ahead. Nobody knows WHO they voted for, but based on party affiliation, it’s a good indicator of where things will shake out. The heavier the R margin, the more likely it is that Trump wins (and vice versa).

Voted last week, just in case. Very red state, very red town. The polling area was very, very busy then which I didn’t expect. . Drove by polling place this morning before work. Already a line before they opened. I will be leaving directly from work to go for Eucharistic Adoration for an hour to pray.
Two of my coworkers who were not going to vote after the first debate told me they were voting today after work for Trump. I hope the lines are not too long and they don’t change their minds. We need a popular vote win to go with the electoral win to silence that stupid talking point.

Dropped my ballot off at a drop box in Eugene/Springfield and was expecting a line of cars but no one was there. Drove by a different drop box last night and only saw one car.
Since this is a heavy Democrat neighborhood I would guess no one is voting or they all voted early. I just don’t see any bumper stickers or yard signs so the enthusiasm for voting for Joe is next to nothing.

I dropped off my mail in ballot at one of the three polling places in Porterville, CA about 10:30 this morning. The line was about normal.
I asked about turnout this election and the worker told me they were up several hundred, so far, over the last election. This is the first time for the mail in voting so up several hundred is a good sign since many probably mailed in their ballots.
After voting I did some shopping. At the grocery store were a number of people with very full carts. While waiting in line to check out I joked with the lady in front of me that if she reorganized her cart she could add a couple more items. She told me that on the way to the store she went by the biggest park in town and there were quite a few people gathered there. She said she was concerned about possible problems later on this evening. Other folks with full carts close by also joined in saying they were preparing for possible violence when President Trump wins re-election.

Two things, and I use my own kids as data points.
1) They are heavily targeted on media platforms that are overwhelmingly Leftist. Throw in school and that tendency among the young to lean Left.
2) We have to guard against overconfidence. It’s fun here on the blog to root for Trump and read about signs of big GOP turnout. But that is not the same as votes for Pres. Trump and a win tonight.

First, both sides are expecting a landslide victory for their guy, and so everybody is going to focus on the good news for their guy wherever it appears. Second, I can’t help but think about the Philadelphia Eagles beating the Patriots a few years ago in the Super Bowl. Nobody expected them to win. Nick Foles (their QB), while a decent QB, just played lights-out football for 60 minutes. That “Philly Special” play is what I had in my head today. Everything seemed to go their way…but New England was in it until the final seconds. It ain’t over till it’s over.

I’m working as a poll watcher in N. Central Florida. This precinct has a turnout rate of 89.8% with 2 hours to go. A neighboring precinct has an 91% turnout.
South Central PA (right across the river from Harrisburg) reporting in, voted this morning — stood in line over 2 hours. I drove past 3 polling places which had cars in overflow parking. In my 30 years living here I have not seen anything coming close to today’s turnout. It’s looking good for Trump!
Drove around Johnson County, KS with my Trump flag flying high for 3.5 hours.
Overall very positive results. What was striking was how mean spirited Biden supporters were. It is a visceral hatred. Unhinged.
Lots more positive feedback though. Two things in particular stood out: In one car there was an very old woman and she was super pumped. Seemed like she was happy that people were pushing back. Another was a young man, college or high school aged, that was standing on a corner decked out in MAGA gear and holding a pole of multiple flags. Nice to see young people who aren’t brainwashed.

In the city of Tulsa, I just voted. My polling place is across the street from my apartment complex, so I walked over. There was tape outside for the 6 feet space thing but not being used.
Three poll workers waiting for voters and 2 people casting ballots. I saw one man walking away from the polling place as I was walking in.
As I walked out, another 2 more people were walking in from the neighborhood.
On the sheet where I sign my name to vote, I saw that less than half had already voted.

Voted today in north suburbs of Chicago. As usual the polling station was nearly empty as in all my 20 years voting there. Many snowbirds are gone this time of year and likely early voted or by mail anyways. Nice 60’s temperature was a relief after recent freezing temps.
Only thing unusual, I thought, was Trump and all other republicans at the top of the candidate list for each race. Given the democrats run the place I wondered about that.
We also have a statewide referendum on changing the state constitution, which requires a flat income tax, to allow for a “Fair” graduated tax to get the richies. So that referendum I hope will be defeated and perhaps a groundswell against it will benefit Trump for a surprise. And because the democrats have the state in the bag, maybe they didn’t cheat as much as usual. We can only dream!
