This is the second in our series of CTH ground reports. With Treepers in every state, your information is actually a great insight into the political landscape.
Individual reports are obviously anecdotal; however, when they are compiled on a larger scale, and overlaid against the social media network we also follow, these ground reports have proven to be pretty darned accurate. Early voting has begun. If you have voted in person feel free to share your experience.
President Trump is surging at precisely the right moment. Momentum is building and you can see all across social media platforms the MAGA movement is pushing back against censorship. Massive boat parades and incredible vehicle parades both replete with flags and banners supporting our President.
Yard signs/banners are now out in force and the MAGA gear is visible everywhere. In the past week the latest viral platform videos are of Trump dancing; Trumpy dance and Tik-Tok duets. Good stuff. The biggest single attribute connecting all of these visible events is joy, fellowship and the visible spirit of a patriotic movement happy to stand with President Trump.
Tens-of-thousands for rallies and Trump events; and even surrogates for President Trump are drawing exponentially larger crowds than the democrat candidates.
The monster vote is awake and alive.
https://twitter.com/Dirken5/status/1317588828492791821
All visible support for President Trump is genuinely organic, grassroots and easily identifiable as not being politically coordinated. Conversely all media-focused support for Joe Biden -used to frame the current election narrative- is transparently astroturf, inorganic and easily identified as being contrived. There truly is a remarkable and easily witnessed distinction.
We have the best candidate. We have the best message. Our color-blind movement is optimistic and filled with patriotic joy. Massive numbers of Latinos; massive numbers of blacks; massive numbers of young voters. The confidence level is high.
Our opposition is shallow, reliant upon astroturf and media manipulation. Ignore the narrative engineers and join in fellowship. Live your best life. Put out the signs; wear the gear; engage with everyone; be openly optimistic and rally to the standard. We have got this if we want it…
Deserve MAGA victory !! Get your ass in the game, get serious, get everyone involved and register those who never voted before; remind everyone, and drive the MONSTER VOTE !!
So here’s the question… What do you see in your area?
What is the visible situation from your community and how does that contrast or align with the national narrative you are seeing as promoted by media?
How does the turnout look? What are you seeing in/around your neighborhood and polling place? If you have early voted in-person, what was turnout like?
Ground reports are a great way to get a *sense* of the election.

I volunteered to be a poll watcher and I’ve been assigned Little Haiti here in Miami . First day for me today . No lines , but steady . I was told Monday had lines . Heavy Democrat area here . So far no major issues .

Florida Breaks Record in First Day of Early Voting with at Least 350,000 Ballots Cast – https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/10/20/florida-breaks-record-first-day-early-voting-least-350000-ballots-cast/
Husband and I hand carried absentee ballots to county clerk as we don’t trust the post office. (sad, isn’t it?). We are in solid red north central Idaho. Trump flags and signs all over.
Live in coastal north San Diego county. Driving home yesterday afternoon, on the overpass at my exit was a big commotion and crown with banners and signs. Sheet, I thought it was for my libtard congressman, but no….a big Trump gathering Woooohoooo. And the San Diego Bay boat parade on Nov 1st will be huge
NYS is a joke that lost its punchline decades ago.
Took a rainy day drive all the way around Cayuga Lake to enjoy the wet and misty fall scenery, which is incomparable in the northeast (Taughannock Falls pretty lame after the dry summer, but still more beautiful than many places on the planet).
Trump 2020 flags, signs, Halloween displays, boats, trucks. ALMOST everywhere, in town and outta town. THICC outta town. None near Aurora though! (Wells College, sheesh, even saw a BLM sign, first ever in my travels). Plenty of Harris-Biden (that might now be how they are printed, but…..) in Ithaca, some in the various villages, remarkably few the minute town ends.
Ithaca had some droning computerized femmie voice reminding all to wear masks or face being dragged out of stores and stoned in the public square. Eff off 1984.
One Bernie sign looking sad and windblown behind a Biden and a Biden/Harris in one stalwart’s yard. Aww.
Not as many anti-Cuomo signs as near Lake Ontario where love of the 2nd Amendment runs strong in the veins, but there were a few, and also tons of American Flags. Nice!
The impression I get is Election Day will be 98% Trump/Pence in rural areas, 85% in villages, 2% in Aurora (saw a couple construction guys), and lovely Upstate NY will again be drowned out by the gimmiecrat city class and super-elites voting for the end of America. I PRAY that my predictions are wrong, and NY instead hands a stunning electoral vote count to our incomparable new Founding Father, President Donald J. Trump.
River, I hope you don’t mind if I retroactively join you in spirit on your rainy day drive…sounds heavenly!
Maquis, I would’ve been delighted to have the company of a fellow Treeper!
Treepers make great company!
Thank you for that. Love that drive around Cayuga Lake. Until a year ago in June My husband and I lived in Western NY for 30 years (and he, his whole life before we moved to Indiana, my home state). Every fall we would drive to/around several of the Finger Lakes. Miss that a lot (and Letchworth).
But so glad to be in a red state. Lots of Dems in the northern part of the county, enough to elect a Democrat Rep in Congress. But majority Trump supporters where we live. (One Biden sign on a cross street.) I voted more than a week ago (husband not voting; doesn’t like Trump but won’t vote Dem anymore either; nor did he vote for Obama either time; we rarely talk about it). There was a short wait in the small town hall I voted in. In a bigger town, Tuesday night, we saw a long line to vote, I’m betting mostly for Trump. (Town has a Republican town council.)
Lots of people moving here from Illinois, which concerns me. One would hope they remind themselves why they moved, and for accordingly.
Praying for NY and CA as they experience the worst governance! We love you strong Trump supporters. Take care and God bless Donald J. Trump!!
Complaints from various states about dumb, lazy, RINO-infested state Republican parties are prevalent here.
Over 10 years ago an Ohio man who wrote on RedState (before it went NEVER TRUMP) had started The Precinct Project, a grassroots effort by Conservatives to take back the Republican Party, especially on the local level, from the RINOS or what we used to call “Country-club Rockefeller Republicans.”
By becoming a precinct chairman/woman, we can start the process, but I can tell you that, 10 years later, it has not yet happened in Ohio, unfortunately, which explains the presence of RINOS like the current governor and senator (Portman, a worthless schmuck).
Because of Louis Lerner. Tea party has been stymiedby by McStain
Town of Paradise Valley, AZ Municipal Complex – city worker on chair as you walk in lobby, locked ballot box with slot to deposit permanent early voting ballots. Lots of citizens walking in their ballots. Same deal in Scottsdale at their City Hal. On Nextdoor, someone in Scottsdale posted about someone attempting ballot harvesting.

This article gives me great hope! Biden has virtually no path to victory. From the article: I find that the data shows that Trump is likely keep all his 2016 states and win Minnesota and New Hampshire. Additionally, it is highly likely that Nevada, Colorado, and Virginia are in play. This could land him 35 states and an overwhelming victory in the popular vote. Here is why:
• Republican Support: 77% (2016) vs. 96% (projected 2020). That’s 10,000,000 votes!
• Evangelical Christians: 81% (2016) vs. 90% (projected 2020)
• Hispanics: 28% (2016) vs. 36.5% (projected in 2020). A potential swing of 8.8 million from 2016.
• Catholics: 45% (2016) vs. 53% (projected 2020). A potential swing of 12.4 million votes from 2016.
• Black vote: 8% (2016) vs. 15% (projected 2020). A potential swing of 6.8 million votes from 2016.
Any of these projections coming half-true would guarantee the President a victory. A combination would lead to a landslide.

Jama,
Thanks for that insight and the link.
Hi Sundance,
My wife and I participated in early voting today in Washington Co. TN. Voting was quick and easy. Lots of Trump signs, and turnout seemed to be good. I would estimate there were probably 100 people on site during the 20 minutes we were there. There was a steading inflow/ outflow of vehicles as I was leaving. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
Thanks for what you do, and God bless you and yours!
My husband and I voted in Viera, Florida (Brevard County). Small lines but very brisk. Half wore masks, half didn’t. No issues. Biden signs and Trump signs were out on A1A. More Trump signs than Biden but not by a lot. Still many are not displaying signs. Only 3 Trump signs on my block ( one of them is ours). Our next door neighbor apologized to my husband about his Biden sign (the only one on our block) and said his wife made him do it. It seems he may secretly vote for Trump.?
I just voted in NE TN. Very strong turnout with long lines, scarce parking and an hour and a half wait. This was on a work day at 1:15 pm. TRUMP support APPEARS to be 3 or 4 to one. Methinks this will be a re-run or a better result than 2016, which was a Trump winner. MAGA!
Northern GA, where I have a cabin is all Trump, woot woot. There were some Biden people waving signs in our Town Square, but I only saw them on one day. There were Trump people doing the same thing. I believe they took turns, there was no skirmishes.
I have come home to vote. I am saying a prayer for a virtual friend that did not make it. He was a huge Trump supporter. He will be with me in spirit.
Did he pass away from COVID?
I’m sorry, I forgot to give my condolences on the loss of your friend. ?
No… it was nearly a year back.. before all this.. Cancer.
Montgomery County Texas. Early voting 3 to 1 Republicans. Heavy Republican county north of Houston/Harris County. Few signs for either Trump or Biden. Lots of signage for local offices and US Senate and Congressional candidates.
North-central Minnesota. Trump signs everywhere. only a smattering of Biden/Harris. Some people have voted, most are waiting until election day. We live in a solidly red (90%) rural county, and voter turnout should be epic this year. People are fed up with the Liberal DFL party here and Gov. Walz authoritarian decrees.
The line to vote early at the local library, has been out the door and down the sidewalk for the last few days. I saw a PTrump sign on a car window that said, “Join the avalanche!”
What state did you see the avalanche sign in? Great!
Here are a couple of statistics websites for Wisconsin:
The ballots returned tab on this link shows the percentage of absentee ballots sent and returned.
https://electproject.github.io/Early-Vote-2020G/WI.html
This is probably the official count (data appears to align with above link) as it is from the elections.wi.gov website.
https://elections.wi.gov/node/7196
Driving around the state there are definitely more Trump signs up in rural areas. Dane County is a liberal stronghold and there are more Biden signs. I’ve noticed Trump signs vandalized with paint, etc. We are huge supporters and have not put signs out yet. This is because we have small children and do not want to invite vandals or antifa types. I think this is probably a concern for many Trump voters. I do have a home security system with battery operated video cameras and motion sensing flood lights that are also battery operated. I am tempted to set up a camera and floodlight near our signs when I put them up so we can capture any vandals on camera in the spotlight. I think that would probably freak them out a bit, “SURPRISE! You’re on Candid Camera!”
I just traveled through downtown Wisconsin Dells today on business and I was happy to see many 4×8 Trump signs up and down the main drag. This is the top tourist location in the state and well known in the midwest, so it was fun to see businesses putting Trump signs out not giving a damn about the potential of lost customers. There are many hospitality businesses in the Dells and they have been hit especially hard by the CCP Flu.
Trump was in Janesville, WI last Saturday, and will be in Waukesha, WI this Saturday (Part of a 4 state barnstorm! North Carolina, Ohio, and New Hampshire being the other 3 stops of the day). He is clearly working very hard for WI so I am assuming his internal polling says they are neck and neck or slightly behind.
Trump really needs to break the media embargo with the Biden Laptop because I am amazed how many people have no idea about it. I expect him to hit that topic very hard tonight with his last debate audience.
I ordered a Trump flag last night so I can drive around liberal Madison with it on the back of my pickup truck and show some #MAGA pride in enemy territory. We took a Trump flag out in our boat this past summer up in the Northwoods of WI. We were on one of the popular tourist lakes and did a Happy Hour Hotlap! We drove close to the shoreline at about 50 miles per hour all the way around the lake. I would say we had about a 90% approval rate. Many beers and cocktails raised at the site of the flag and many waves and fist bumps. You could feel the excitement and energy and the flag instantly put big smiles on all those faces.
Central NC here.
Worked the polls on first day of early voting (last Thur.) and yesterday. Very busy on first day…and judging by the voter guides clutched in almost every voters hand as they left, I would say it was 50:50 Trump:Biden. Maybe just a few more Trump since the One Stop polling location was on the redder side of the county.
But last night when I worked, we were much slower and almost all Trump…like 30:1. Even had a few registered Dems who were wearing Trump hats. 🙂
Also…Yesterday, I heard an add on the radio for some guy running for US senate in SC, Bledsoe? I think was the name Pro-gun, Pro-trump, Pro- Life…but the kicker was, the add was paid for by Jamie Harrison who is the Democrat running against Miss. Lindsay! I don’t know if there really is a third candidate in this race, but it would explain why Miss. Lindsay is running behind.
Guess Harrison trying to kick enough dirt in the eyes of Conservative voters to get himself elected.
Bledsoe dropped out of the race and endorsed Graham, but too late to take his name off of ballot. Harrison is (as you noted) running ads for him to divert votes from Graham.
https://www.dailywire.com/news/liberal-groups-propping-up-third-party-candidate-who-already-dropped-out-in-south-carolina-senate-race
I voted in SC. The line moved quickly and everyone was polite. The did a great job moving us through. Kept it very clean. Handed out wood q-tips for use on ballot machines. Driving through the vote location neighborhood were many Biden signs. The line was growing ever longer as I was leaving.
I’m in Houston, TX. I mostly see signs for Dan Crenshaw and Wesley Hunt (both R’s). Most likely everyone is a little shy to put out a Trump sign. So I just assume those are Trump voters. I don’t see many Biden signs. Definitely less than Hillary. Everyone assumes the enormous early voting turnout is good for Biden because of the excitement in 2018 for Beto. All the Hispanics thought Beto was Mexican so they showed up in droves (plus all the weird stuff about Beto hadn’t come out yet). At the time we had the “straight ticket” voting option so we lost a lot of republicans on all levels. Thankfully the straight ticket voting option is gone I think the excitement is for Trump and to get our republican representatives back!!
I was in Crystal Beach (near Galveston) the other weekend and it looked like a Trump parade on the beach everyday…..a local said that’s how it is every day of the week, all day. It was like something I’ve never seen before. Every truck/car/ATV had huge Trump signs and flags. I saw every race, gender, and age. No one ever did that for Obama or Bush. No way TX goes blue.
Saw one of Dan Crenshaw’a videos . . . . I think other Rs were in it as well. Hope they all make it. We need more patriots in Congress
It’s literally one of the best campaign ads ever.
Yes, Kaden, this is the one. Thank you! It is one of the best out there along with Kim Klacik’s and her stilettos and red dress with a great message.
I live in Napa CALIFORNIA. I see Trump signs here and there in this incredibly leftist area. My neighbor drove up with two HUGE Trump banners on his pickup. He said he had just gone to Sacramento to a Trump rally. It was a rally without the president present. He said there were thousands of very enthusiastic Trump supporters there. Sundance’s article yesterday about gaslighting by the media is absolutely correct.
Here, in the People’s Republic of Massachusetts something odd is going on. In my area (Cape Cod) whenever there is a Trump standout, the opposition aren’t the Democrats. It is BLM/Antifa and boy are they vicious, crude and mean . . .and they are women!!!
My husband and I wanted to become election officials but two town offices quickly told us they had all the people they needed. We are noticing Biden signs that went up a couple of weeks ago are slowly being taken down . . . . and not by hoodlums.
This is the best version of POTUS’ theme song .. . . . [video src="https://videos.dailymail.co.uk/video/mol/2019/09/23/2684451303848101347/640x360_MP4_2684451303848101347.mp4" /] Enjoy
California here. In the belly of the beast: “Hollywood.” People just assume that Biden is going to win by a landslide. I am serious. This is what they think, at least last week they thought this.
That said, there is very tepid enthusiasm for Biden. Some Biden lawn signs. No bumper stickers anywhere. In prior years, bumper stickers and lawn signs were everywhere for the Democrat candidates.
There are more “We support BLM” signs than Biden signs but note that all of the chalk designs supporting BLM have worn off and have not been replaced. There is a popular lawn sign that says something like: “I support science. I support tolerance. I support love. Support Biden.” (something like that). and also, other lawn signs that urge voters to vote for the “adult in the room.”
By and large, support for Biden is negligible but people still support the Democrat Party and will vote Democrat.
P.S. No sign anywhere of any support for our magnificent President Trump. Trump support has largely gone underground. People are afraid of being vilified, possible property damage etc.
I totally understand, having lived and worked in L.A. County for 26 years. Perhaps in the blue states they are voting more “against Trump” than they are voting “for Biden”.
Philly here; only signs in my Center City neighborhood are Biden/Harris, BLM and “Tell them Ruthie Sent You”
However, I expect a stronger than expected in-person voting turnout and Trump will prevail across PA.
Trump voters keep their mouth shut because they risk harassment or worse so are under counted.
Plus people are ANGRY with the Governor and his continued shutdown of the Commonwealth and will take it out on Dem candidates. Much as in Michigan.
N Jefferson County, Colorado – This county went for Hillary in 2016 and I suspect that it will go for Biden 2020 unfortunately. I’m seeing more Trump signs & flags then 2016, and less Biden signs than Clinton, however its hard to read.. The down-ticket Republican signs outnumber the Democrat down-ticket signs in my immediate area. Quite a few Trump signs that I see will be missing or defaced within a day or two, yet new signs will go up & replace them. Trump voters are very tenacious and determined.
On Nextdoor, the leftist Karens are complaining that their Biden signs are being destroyed, yet that doesn’t fit with what I am witnessing. I have noticed the traffic on Nextdoor has decreased dramatically since the summer. CoronaKarens have made that board a nightmare. The murder of the veteran in Denver, the Denver riots, the Communist Denver Council-woman, the govenor’s COVID mandates, and school closures may have pushed a few out of the Democrat nest, yet no one is saying anything.
A few die-hard Democrats at work have quietly stated that they are voting for Trump, however I know a couple of people suffering from serious TDS & they get highly emotional. Avoidance of the CoronaKarens and TDS sufferers seems to be the unspoken rule. Do not engage. They will verbally assault you anywhere at anytime. There is a noticeable decrease of eye-contact everywhere I go, although I always try to give a thumbs up to anyone with a trump mask, MAGA hat, etc…
I believe Trump will be re-elected (YEAH), however even though I hope for Colorado, I don’t know if Colorado will get enough votes to stop the blue slide. There are some other issues to consider: Ending late term abortion is on the ballot this year, Admendment 115, that may bring out a lot of conservatives and Christian voters to the polls – the problem is that churches have been basically shut down since March. There is a Recall Gov Polis campaign and people are upset with the unending mask mandate & restrictions. Also, the big liberal colleges of CU-Boulder and DU-Denver dont have the student vote & energy of 2016. In 2016, the Colorado GOP was seriously infected with TDS which suppressed the GOP vote, yet now Republicans have pantsy-ass Sen Cory Gardner running against former Gov. Hickenlooper. Its been a terrible fire season, and Cameron Peak fire is blanketing Denver is smoke since September. How many will view this as Forest Management vs Climate Change is anyone’s guess. Fracking is another issue – many communities on the front range and plains owe a lot to fracking, so the anti-fracking talk of the Democrats could sway a few voters.
A long post to say I dont have a clue how Colorado will vote. I plan to take my unopen ballot to the polls and vote in person next week so that I can get a printout of my vote. I have not trusted the election results since Colorado started doing mail in ballots. It also didn’t help my confidence to learn that Soros money helped Democrats take key positions in Jefferson County
Get everyone you can to vote for Trump! I live in heavily Democrat Pueblo County and I think we will beat Biden by at least 60% to 40% here. If we do and all of rural Colorado gives Trump 80%-20% and Trump wins big in El Paso and Douglas counties, we have a good chance. Also, I have a son in Longmont and they are heavily for Trump there. Loveland is a problem and Ft Collins and Boulder are hopeless, But Weld County will go for Trump. I think Trump will carry Colorado by a small margin.
Watch out for cell phone trollers who are trying to find out whether you have voted. They a ballot harvesters and they a re well organized. Do not ever respond to their text messages, just delete those messages on site.
I think Cory Gardner is in the most trouble because he has played both sides against the middle and that has worn thin for everyone. Mitch McConnell will have to give him a lot of help and I don’t see that happening.
I believe Lauren Boebert will win and may even have coattails for Trump in Southern Colorado.
Keep pushing, I think it will go much better than four years ago statewide. I wish Trump would have a peaceful protest in Colorado before the election.
First day of in-person absentee voting here in St. Louis MO County. Line started about 7 AM for an 8 AM opening. By the time the site opened, there were approximately 250 in an appropriately socially distanced line. I got there about 7:30 AM and was out of there about 8:45 AM. Quite a few folks left when they saw the line and many more personally dropped off their absentee ballot rather than mailing it. During the day, I periodically checked the county government website where they estimate the number waiting and it fluctuated between about 100 to 175. The poll workers were somewhat surprised by the numbers as this is day #1 going through Nov. 1.
Am a poll watcher for repubs at Wellington Library, Wellington, FL, Palm Beach County – 12 miles inland from West Palm Beach
So far Mon-Thurs
About 1 hour wait time to enter precinct to vote
Has been this way since early voting opened on Monday 10/19
No letup, no lulls, constant voter turnout
Weather on and off rain, light to heavy
5 registration stations
About 1300 people / day voting throughput
Most years, slower pace, no or light lines.
This year seems like massive turnout.
Have to assume favors Trump
Boat parades mostly every weekend,
Over 1000 boats decked out w Trump regalia
One difference, this year locally, is that there are very few signs up. Those that are, are majority Trump. Early voting is going on, via absentee processes. Keep in mind, though, that most successfully election fraud here has been prosecutions of abuses of the absentee process. I plan to vote in person Nov 3. I don’t expect too much of an issue there. (I hope the covid rules keep those annoying “helpers” with sample ballots away.)
Im in central Illinois and never saw or heard more supportfor a Republican president or more dusdain for a Democratic presidential nominee
Talked to an older friend of mine (friend of my deceased parents) in Delaware county, Ohio. She said someone was caught on camera stealing a Trump sign and police got involved, went to her house, she has over 40 stolen Trump signs in her garage! She told me she is being fined $750 per sign!
Also, she said her own Trump sign keeps getting knocked over, thinks it’s her neighbor next door that moved from Columbus. She lives on a state route close to my hometown, there’s no way someone is going to stop without her knowing it, so it must be the neighbor, who is also calling the fire dept on her for burning trash. Nasty.
Okay, so neighbor on the other side of us stops my husband when he gets out of the car, and says, “I’m glad I don’t have to look at another Biden sign. Trump 2020!”
Ok, just had to report on my little sign war with the other neighbor next door. Go, Silent Trump supporters! I wish we could flood the neighborhood with them. Someone has to be the first follower.
I live in Central Illinois (Fulton Co).
In my town (13K) Biden signs win probably 2 to1 on display. I have a sense here though…. of HUGE silent Trump support (augmented by local FB comments). Clearly, Illinois is a liberal state, so there are kooks everywhere and not everyone wants signs out to display their support and possible targets of retaliation and vandalism.
In addition, a sizeable group of Trump supporters are having their FIRST Central Illinois vehicle Trump Rally this Saturday. This grass roots event was started just 1.5 weeks ago and appears to be gathering steam. Traveling route is from Bartonville to East Peoria and through surrounding smaller communities.
I will be taking pictures of the event and I should get a decent feel for whether the support I sense is correct, or token.
By most accounts, Governor Pritzker is hated here as he’s pushing to open the Illinois Constitution and vying for a “progressive tax” versus the current flat tax. They are using a HUGE disinformation ad campaign to confuse voters on the truth of the tax. I suspect the vote will be close……thus strong conservative support around here.
I’m in the Niceville FL area, north side of the bay from Destin. Trump Country. Fact is, NW FL voters carried Trump over the finish line to win the FL delegates in 2016 and we’re poised to do it again. My man is appearing tomorrow night in Pensacola and it will be his 5th visit to the city. I saw him live at his first appearance in Jan 2016.
The optimism here is over the top, and the consensus is ‘Four More Years!’
Voted i. Va Beach. 4th day of early voting. Took about 1 1/2 hours in line. Long line when I left. Few Trump signs. Biden seems to have cornered the sign market. I have no sign. Am afraid they will hurt my dog. Bolsheviks are dangerous to all living things
Get yourself a Trumpish dog…
I’m currently on a road trip with my family in SW Oregon. You would not believe the number of Trump-Pence signs we’ve seen!
So I am in Davidson Co. (Nashville). I voted on Tuesday and the line was out the door and around the parking lot. It took 1 hour, 50 minutes from getting there to leaving. As I stood in line, the guy behind me was on the phone the entire time! His LGBTQ self (his own description) so hated orange man bad and was astonished at the turn out saying it must be because everybody is over Trump’s sh*t! I really had to restrain myself from lambasting him! I have “discussed” this election with others that are brain-washed leftists and it’s such a total waste of time I just decided I really didn’t care what he thought. Our EV numbers are way up over 2016! Trump 2020!!
Voted today (10/22/2020) around noonish (?) and no long lines at all. Lines formed as I finished voting and was getting ready to leave facility. No social distancing noticed within the building area where people (probably 20-30) were waiting to enter a smaller room where IDs are checked before entering actual polling area.
We did wear masks. Voting booths were socially distanced and we used Q-Tips to activate our touchscreen choices. I was able to verify that tabulated candidates’ names matched my selections. So IMO there were no problems at least while I was early voting (which took about 30 min from the time I entered the building to when I left) here in North Central WV.
One thing I experienced was the database at Secretary of State’s office did not have my official name entered — they only had me under my first name and married last name with nothing entered for my middle name — so that database does not fully match my DL or Voter’s Registration card since everything I do of any importance like that always has my completely spelled-out maiden name (which became my middle name after I got married). It might be possible that they couldn’t enter a middle name; I’m not sure and poll worker wasn’t sure. I’m wondering if my vote will count or not.
They did check my DL this time and I also had them look at my Voter’s Registration card. When I voted in May 2020, I had to insist that the poll workers look at my ID; they said they weren’t required to verify ID (at that time); so, I was very happy to see they were checking IDs and VR cards this time around.
I have a question regarding AARP’s October magazine issue No 11. I’m wondering if the answers were fact checked by someone who knows how to do that for the “Where They Stand” article. Do you think the President’s team would have fact checked his and the opposition’s answers for that article?
https://press.aarp.org/2020-9-28-October-Issue-of-AARP-Bulletin-Features-Donald-Trump-and-Joe-Biden-in-Their-Own-Words-on-Social-Security-Medicare-the-Economy-and-Coronavirus
This has a lot of helpful info: https://www.aarp.org/politics-society/government-elections/info-2020/state-voting-guides.html
Hope all goes well for everyone. Very optimistic for a landslide. Keep praying and stay safe. It’s going to be a very long 12 days for sure.

In my R+6 NC district, I voted at noon on the 2nd day of early voting. My ballot was the 500th collected at one of three in the county. A volunteer told me another polling station in the county had very long lines on the first day of early voting. Looks like a heavy turnout in a strong, conservative district.
I live so remotely I’ve little to share of much consequence.
However, thanks Treeper’s for taking the time to jot down your observations. It’s educational and almost fascinating the different lifestyles and perceptions from your locations.

Central Idaho here. It goes without saying that I haven’t seen a single Biden sign, but lots of “Trump No More Bullshit” signs (including the two five-foot ones I have on my properties). It is a foregone conclusion that Trump will triumph wildly here, despite the two or three California transplants that have shown up over the last year.
LD23 in AZ so far more Republican ballots then Demoncrats… usually a Republican district but more 25 % more Ds showed up in the primary then Rs so.. jury still out .
Just got back from voting in-person with my wife & 18yo son in SE TX. The TX polls have been open since Oct. 13th for early in-person voting. The poll workers cheered when they learned that he was a first-time voter! We got him registered just in time to vote for President Trump. Great family experience!
North Carolina here. I voted the day early voting began (Oct 15). My wife voted today and said that her ballot was #6008. The vote total for our county in 2016 was just over 17,000, so over 35% of the 2016 total has voted already. We only have two locations for early voting in the county. We voted at the main location, so along with absentee votes, that number is even higher.
Demographics…I didn’t see anyone under 30, maybe 40, when I went. A friend voted a couple of days ago and remarked about the age being high. We’re not a young population here, and it is during working hours, so that may be the reason it’s older people.
I did EV in metro Atlanta, Fulton County on 10/13 @ the Buckhead Library. It took me 2.5 hours!
It was a fun experience. Civil, no one was acting out. In this area of Atlanta there are more Rs than Ds and that was my guess as I closely looked at the people. Anyone smiling, looking like a patriot, friendly, anxious to vote….I flagged them at a Trump supporter.
The e-voting system was secure (PC voting screen then prints out your completed ballot which the voter feeds into a find via a mechanism on a shredder). No room for fraud at this point. My only concern is if the database tallies can be manipulated thereafter.
Was so thrilled to actually see a few Trump yard signs. They lasted about a week before Biden voters took them.
On the last ground report you posted I wrote that on the rural, dead end street where I live the only political sign posted was by the Hispanic folks across and down the street a bit, a Trump 2020 banner on their barn. Since then a number of Trump/Pence signs have been put up on our street. No Biden signs at all.
My neighbor and I took a tour through Porterville last weekend looking for political signs. We drove through a couple higher end residential neighborhoods, a couple of middle income and lower income neighborhoods to see what was displayed.
We saw very few presidential signs. There were 4 Biden signs and 11 Trump signs.
Last election cycle there were tons of signs everywhere. Mostly Hillary supporters.
I live outside of Porterville, CA, in the south/central San Joaquin Valley. Our congressman is Kevin McCarthy. Devin Nunes’ district is just west of McCarthy’s district. Surprisingly I see many, many Nunes signs everywhere and we’re not even in his district!
Scripps Ranch, San Diego, CA
Received my mail-in ballot a couple of weeks ago. Haven’t tossed it because you seem to need it to vote in person. Polling place moved to a local school.
Just received a letter not related to voting postmarked August 20, 2020. It looks like it had gotten wet along with another piece postmarked a week later.
Now, let’s see….do I trust the USPS to have it’s act together for this election????
No, I don’t think so.
Will vote in person as I always do.
We voted yesterday in Wake County, NC, at a polling site in the middle of a blue town. There were very few Trump or Biden signs in the area – most signs were for down-ballot races. The line took 30 minutes, with people anti-socially distanced. We took advantage of the opportunity to wear smiles instead of masks, which were not mandated for voting. It almost felt like normal.
I’m from ND, 70%+ will break for Trump. I vote before I left for AZ. Retirement community there has 4 or 5 to on yard signs in favor of Trump. My dad, a life long Democrat isn’t voting this year
Michigan – Eric Trump evening event at a rural area farm. Campaign requested that event NOT be shared on FaceBook, but word spread from GOP direct channels (email, text). You might think turnout would look like a Biden/Harris event, under the circumstances…but hundreds of vehicles arrived in the dark as a light rain fell. The nearest parking spots were a half-mile walk to the event. Enthusiasm is high!
I would love to see PDJT going into the inner cities, personally asking these citizens for their vote. It would put him over the top. When was the last time a Republican visited. The votes are there to be persuaded if he visited.
Southwestern PA here (40 miles west of Philadelphia).
Spent two days in Adams, York, Lancaster, and Chester Counties as we visited Gettysburg PA. This was all Trump country. Some rural areas/towns we’re total Trump signs.
The city/town areas of Gettysburg, and a couple other towns did have significantly Biden signs ….but even in those areas there was still about 50/50 with Trump. 80% of the towns we’re heavy, heavy Trump supporters. Many businesses, large and small, (about a dozen) had Trump signs. Only saw two small businesses with Biden signs.
One house we passed had a long driveway with about 10 Trump flags flying on tall polls all along the driveway.
Also saw about 3 stores or venders selling Trump 2020 flags, hats, t-shirts, etc. No Biden venders anywhere.
In Jefferson County Kentucky my granddaughter and I voted a straight Republican ticket. Because I am 83 I wanted to vote in person to make sure my vote for Trump counted. We voted at a Marriott Hotel in the Louisville area. I was surprised that it was well organized and only took us about 20 minutes to vote. I told the Senior age workers I appreciated they volunteered. All ages were voting at this place. Everyone I know is voting Trump. I come from a long line of Kentucky Democrats, but most all realize the Democrat party is not the party of their grandparents.
I have voted Republican for years.
