That is true. Many hospitals that weren’t covid treatment centers wound up closing, laying off staff or furloughing. Medical practices that do non emergent surgeries were not allowed to do them because the hospitals were barred from admitting any non emergent patients for surgery or anything else. My daughter works for sports medicine/ortho. They barely stayed open through the main shut down, laid off most of medical staff, cut hours way back, all surgeries canceled. Rural and small community hospitals were especially hard hit.
I hope President Trump spoke to that nurse after the town hall to get clarification of her question and give her an actual answer. I love my President but sometimes when he gets wound up the voter questions get lost. Like the abortion question. Medical abortion to save the mother’s life has always been legal, therapeutic/elective abortion is what Roe is about.
