The Supreme Court has announced the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg at the age of 87 from complications due to metastatic cancer of the pancreas. The 2020 election is officially in hyper-drive…
SCOTUS – Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died this evening surrounded by her family at her home in Washington, D.C., due to complications of metastatic pancreas cancer. She was 87 years old.
Justice Ginsburg was appointed to the Supreme Court by President Clinton in 1993. She was the second woman appointed to the Court and served more than 27 years. She is survived by her two children: Jane Carol Ginsburg (George Spera) and James Steven Ginsburg (Patrice Michaels), four grandchildren: Paul Spera (Francesca Toich), Clara Spera (Rory Boyd), Miranda Ginsburg, Abigail Ginsburg, two step-grandchildren: Harjinder Bedi, Satinder Bedi, and one great-grandchild: Lucrezia Spera. Her husband, Martin David Ginsburg, died in 2010.
Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. said of Justice Ginsburg: “Our Nation has lost a jurist of historic stature. We at the Supreme Court have lost a cherished colleague. Today we mourn, but with confidence that future generations will remember Ruth Bader Ginsburg as we knew her — a tireless and resolute champion of justice.”
Justice Ginsburg was born in Brooklyn, New York, March 15, 1933. She married Martin D. Ginsburg in 1954. She received her B.A. from Cornell University, attended Harvard Law School, and received her LL.B. from Columbia Law School. She served as a law clerk to the Honorable Edmund L. Palmieri, Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, from 1959–1961.
From 1961–1963, she was a research associate and then associate director of the Columbia Law School Project on International Procedure. She was a Professor of Law at Rutgers University School of Law from 1963–1972, and Columbia Law School from 1972–1980, and a fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences in Stanford, California from 1977–1978. In 1971, she was instrumental in launching the Women’s Rights Project of the American Civil Liberties Union, and served as the ACLU’s General Counsel from 1973–1980, and on the National Board of Directors from 1974–1980. She was appointed a Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in 1980. During her more than 40 years as a Judge and a Justice, she was served by 159 law clerks.
While on the Court, the Justice authored My Own Words (2016), a compilation of her speeches and writings.
A private interment service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery. (link)

I wonder if tonight’s events will cause Dunham’s release of anything to be delayed whether good or bad?
nope, he either will or won’t. No reason for this to influence it.
Should have no effect on the timing of the release of a report/indictments.
yes …they make inferno for over 100 days in many cities Durham should release everything now !!!!! no waiting…
I dont think so, but it sounds like something the tick-tockers will use to excuse the continued delay.
Golly, the news cycle is moving quickly tonight. Looking most likely a vote will happen before the election.
Has me wondering if this was indeed a Hail Mary that will not work to resurrect DEM enthusiasm. Might they try to make Biden step down next to illicit sympathy?
Desperate times call for desperate measures and if there’s one thing Dims are, it’s desperate. Gonna need more popcorn.
If the Turtle doesn’t have the votes and a new justice is not confirmed before 11/3 and the court is 4-4 on 11/4 will the Senate proceed anyway? Theoretically they have until 1/20/21 to confirm.
It is urgent that the Senate seat her replacement before the “election” since the outcome will almost certainly involve at least one Supreme Court emergency hearing and we cannot have a 4-4 split.
6 months on Schumer time. He wants Biden to win and Dems win Senate. Odds are a stretch.
4-4 split. It also impacts the vote on hearing or not hearing cases.
(Does Sullivan vs Flynn have a chance without Ginsberg and Roberts both?)
Win or lose, Donald Trump is POTUS, and the republicans control the senate, until January 2021. I know POTUS will do his job. Senate republicans……???
Yeah,I worry about them. Note how Mirkowski has already said she wouldn’t vote for a nominee…a day before RBG passed. I don’t trust the likes of Graham and Romney as well. As for McConnell, he’s up for election, so he’ll probably bring for a vote knowing it won’t pass…

Unfortunately that is probably the play. Only four repub senators needed to defeat. They will be Murkowski, Romney, Collins, and ?? (take your pick). Repubs are a circular firing squad. I somewhat trust McConnell will try but is it possible in 45 days with Senate rules? Dems will use every excuse to stall. Gonna get very ugly!
No, David, Mitch plays for keeps. If he brings up the vote, it will pass.
And then the riots will begin in earnest!!!!
Just in the bluest areas/cities will they riot, everyone else already has enough ammunition, I hope, to keep loved ones safe. Fill the ammo locker, you may have friends in need who don’t prepare to save their families. Here in Massachusetts we can’t buy ammo from out of state, and it’s in short supply for some calibers, just sayin’.
I’m 65 and remember the Watts riots and how some areas weren’t torched due to rooftop riflemen shooting back. I never thought we would get back to that but we have to be ready to hold our own if necessary.
Prepare:
Violent riots commence in DC & likely other state Capitols tomorrow
“ Starting tomorrow September 17, let’s summon the revolutionary sweetness that was our calling card in Zuccotti Park and electrify the 50 days leading up to November 3.
On street corners and in front of federal buildings of every town and city, and in front of the White House, let’s start playing non-violent improv jazz in defiance of Trump’s tyranny.
Bring your horn, find a comrade, and strike up a riff. As the music swells, the air above the entire nation will become steeped in the deep blue revolutionary hue of collaborative, organic, improvised jazz.
Our 50-day blast of impassioned jazz could change the outcome of the election.
And this election could change the shape of America.
With hearts stirring and history watching, let’s #ReOccupy.”

I’m gonna hurl.
I was going to say, “I’m terrified you may be right” but then I caught myself. Instead I’m turning it to, “Gird yourselves everyone. Prepare to hold the lines.”
That’s right Ken. Grit is required.

We have a street fighter representing us . Thank the Lord!
President Trump won’t let us down !
Flag at half mast. Check.
Silouette of a cross …
ah, was she not a Jew?
The tens of thousands of aborted babies cry out to God.
Tens of thousands? SMH=shaking my head
Millions .
The Devil had a custom printed place card made for her place at the table.
millions babies…
I have read that approx 21 million abortions since Roe Wade…
IT IS MORE THAN 50 MILLIONS since 1974….sadly
Yes, it is much closer to 50 million. However, I believe the number, whatever the estimate should always end in a 1. As in 47,927,321. A reminder that every life is precious and not just a statistic.
Her parents were Jewish.
She was godless.
The cross is for the babies. As for her she is facing her reward. No escaping.
The following senators are on the record saying in one way or another that they would not support filling a seat in 2020. .

Lisa Murkowsky / 202-224-6665
Mitt Romney / 202-224-5251
Susan Collins / 202-224-2523
Chuck Grassley/ 202-224-3744
Two out of four need to ante up. Did not hear Grassley state he wouldn’t take a vote before election.
Nothing on Grassley’s twitter feed about not voting for a replacement.
Gee, what a surprise.
Imagine that. Murkowski, Collins, and Romney siding with the Democrats. Who could have seen that coming?
Susan Collins is currently behind in the polls in her race. She had better indicate she’s will vote for a nominee before the election.
Well then……..Senate Majority leader Mr. Mitch OConnell needs to tighten the screws on Romney, Collins, and Murkowsky behind closed doors. They should never sit on another committee or get another political penny. And let us start being very nice to Manchin!
Murkowski said that before RBG died…we’ve yet to see where she is now.
Romney’s Comms director tweeted that’s false.
You need to check your sources.
Mitch, I love you and I hate you.
People let their fears and desire to mess with people’s minds cloud their judgement.
PDJT is going to appoint a prolife, conservative;
Whatever you think of him, McConnell has been 100% on conservative judges during his tenure AND that includes getting PDJT’s nominees through;
PDJT is going to nominate someone before the election….brings the lukewarm GOPers back into line and handcuffs the neverTrumpers.
Those are GUARANTEED.
Now, the politics of the moment indicate that the brilliant POLITICAL move is to nominate a prolife, conservative, BLACK WOMAN, if there is one who has been vetted.
HOW will Sleepy Joe and the DEMS attach PDJT for being racist when he will have nominated the FIRST AA woman for the SCOTUS? Your protestations aside, this will help keep the moderate GOPers in line plus sure up his higher than any-other-GOP president’s percentage of the AA vote. Darell Scott said today he is going to get 25%, I think that is high but if he gets 15% along with his higher than any GOP president’s support with the Latino population and the moderate GOPers staying with him, PDJT will MURDER Biden in the electoral college.
The vote on the confirmation may not happen until after the election but he will make it through Graham’s committee.
Watch and see.
Let’s nominate a replacement based on merit with the greatest chance of success…
LOL, as if it isnt possible to have a highly-merited replacement who is also an AA female. Nothing wrong to make the smart political choice from a good list of WELL QUALIFIED choices.
I didn’t exclude any race or gender when I posted that
Didnt think you did. Just saying that once the level of well-qualified and conservative is reached, then being able to get confirmed is/can be an important consideration. And in this climate, an AA woman does great things for the President and the GOP politically.
How about, go F yourself with your identity politics
Thank you Paul, just love seeing sound reasoning!
He, and anyone else for that matter, can Shove the Unconstitutional, “Anyone but White Male” Affirmative Action where the Sun doesn’t shine.
Middle Fingers UP!
None come to mind but I’m not all that well-versed in judges. I remember Condalezza Rice being mentioned as a SCOTUS nom or cabinet position for Mittens when he ran. She was in his binder somewhere…
Or she. Just saying
“Now, the politics of the moment indicate that the brilliant POLITICAL move is to nominate a prolife, conservative, BLACK WOMAN, if there is one who has been vetted.”
How Puketastically Politically Correct of you.
NO WAY FAT ALBERT.
Now, lay off those late night burgers, you already got too much junk in your trunk.
Any chance someone could be nominated, confirmed, and seated by virtue of their qualifications? Well? How ’bout it?
Don’t pander, Mr. President, nominate a conservative justice. That is your only mandate.
That’s not a brilliant political move. That’s just stupid.
Are there any Black females on Trump’s list? He has already committed to his list.
We don’t play identity politics here. Veg Gop.

Amy Coney Barrett
This would force RINOs to explain why they voted for her for appellate but wont for SCOTUS.
I have a feeling that’s who it will be
I have a feeling that’s who it will be
I have a feeling that’s who it will be
So the President she was on death bed. Explains why suddenly his revised list of SCOTUS picks was released Sept 9. I wondered why it came up in the news cycle.
I say nominate & confirm ASAP!
So the President she was on death bed. Explains why suddenly his revised list of SCOTUS picks was released Sept 9. I wondered why it came up in the news cycle.

I asked @realDonaldTrump about a #SCOTUS vacancy on 8/11:
Thank you for that post.
The servicemen and women in Arlington will not be impressed with the “new arrival”.
Yeah, it does suck that is where she will be.
If Amy Coney Barrett is up to the fight, then I believe President Trump should go ahead with the process. Put the pressure on the Republicans to get off their sanctimonious asses and get the job done. Hit the Democrats from all fronts, stress them out, cause their heads to explode, help them over the edge. I agree with some of the comments above, why wait till after the election? Any Republican that drags his, or her feet should be called out, and publicly shamed for letting the people down, being derelict in their duty, and a disgrace to the Party. It is way pass time these gutless Republican politicians felt some real heat, the kind of heat President Trump has felt for four years, along with getting stabbed in the back. President Trump should NOT show any sympathy to these RINOs, but go waist deep in their ass. The President is the head of the Republican Party, and it is way past time for him to jerk a knot in these insubordinates, and get the Party unified, and focused on his agenda, NOT theirs. Unfortunately Senate leadership are traitors, and serve a foreign Government, China. That will make President Trump`s job harder, but not impossible.
Amy is pro-life and her nomination would take even more Catholics from Joementia.
Your comment is spot on!
Amen! “It is way pass time these gutless Republican politicians felt some real heat, the kind of heat President Trump has felt for four years, along with getting stabbed in the back” “but go waist deep in their ass.” Tell it baby! That is some truth.
“I’ve never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure.” Mark Twain.
Now would be a good time to reflect if Hilarious Clinton had been elected President.
Ginsberg is the one who put in place the demand that a decision be required. Completely set aside her voting record with the court as well as her judicial beliefs. In 2016, she publicly endorsed Clinton and insulted the President. She made it know she was holding on to spite the President and no other reason. For the past 4 years this judge has been an actual insult, even beyond Justice Roberts to the courts for allowing her personal animus and politics to come before service to the constitution.
Schumer’s actions demand a decision be made. In 2017, he specifically stated no compromise, only resistance before the President was inaugurated. His party and himself has specifically stated, today no compromise and nuclear option.
The DNC at the behest oft their Wall Street puppet masters has put the nation on a path to a totalitarian system of government to ensure control by their puppet masters.
McConnell knows the survival of even his collaborationist Uni-Party GOPe fact is at stake as the House Democrats made very clear the total destruction of the GOP is planned for enabling the President and resisting them.
Let’s see how far the GOPe is willing to go in collaborating with the DNC and the puppet masters.
Thedocoo
I wholeheartedly agree!
Your words are music to my ears!
McConnell’s neck is on the line and if he can’t get this through, he might not get re-elected. Trump could publically push him to get this done now. McConnell can put the screws to Murk and Mitt.
Politically, in my opinion, great news for Trump and Republican Congress.
If any Republican Senator or House does not vote for Trump’s pick, they are toast.
I was surprised how cowardly the ” conservatives in the Washington bubble were, afraid of what might happen. so pathetic.
If any Republican Senator or House does not vote for Trump’s pick…
Something is wrong with your understanding.
Dustahl, Article II, Section 2, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution, known as the Appointments Clause, empowers the President to nominate and, with the confirmation (advice and consent) of the United States Senate, to appoint public officials, including justices of the Supreme Court.
The House does not have any say in selection or confirmation of SCOTUS justices.
and one great-grandchild: Lucrezia Spera.
Lucrezia? Like… the Borgia?
Lucrezia is used by Spanish people also. I know a Mexican immigrant named Lucrezia, so lay off the speculation about Borgia. Besides not all Borgias were cruel people.
Fair enough. I don’t have European friends, so I didn’t know. The only context in which I’d ever heard the name was in context of the infamous Lucrezia Borgia.
Consider the irony. The Dems planned on using lawfare to help them steal the election, and knew a few cases might end up before SCOTUS. Now they have to argue that it isn’t necessary to have a full court for some of the most important decisions in our nation’s history.
Emmett Sullivan 🙂

Can’t wait for the flash polls tomorrow telling us that out of 1,000,000 respondents, Americans are 95% opposed to a SCOTUS nomination before the election, 2% in favor, 3% unsure.
?
Personally, I am relieved she has finally passed, at least publicly. I have always resented that a person in such ill health be allowed to remain at their post to make decisions that affect millions of American lives. We are in for the roughest ride of our lifetime. Stay alert, vote early, and pray.
Vote early, vote often.. 😉
Va had people waiting in line for 3 hours today, imagine what election day will be like. A friend of mine has been out of sorts waiting for today to arrive so she could go vote for Trump. My hope that today was mostly Trumplicans trying to fight the vote by mail nonsense. Some people are afraid if they will until Nov 3 they won’t get to vote at all due to violence or some other disaster. 2020 will not be like any other election in the history of America.
So should we get ready for the SSCI Deal?
Either PT’s nominee goes through or SSA Dugan’s surveillance report on the CP FISA Leak that may or may not have info on possibly some senators gets declassified?
Just thinking how DC might play their games.
Excellent take. It’s hard for a normal person to think like a swamp rat, but you are dead on.
Indeed, advantage PDJT!
This is excellent timing…bordering on divine going into this election. Making a quick nomination will drag McConnell out of hiding and back in front of the media for a daily grilling on confirmation proceedings.
When the dems try and contest the election results, McConnell will be front and center. Does he really want that? Or will he get in front of it by calling out the shenanigans before it’s too late?
And … guess who has to come off the campaign trail for the confirmation hearings?
Winning in every direction tonight.
I assume you mean Sen. Kamala Harris. I honestly think the more she campaigns, the worse they will do, so it is not really a loss to stash her back in D.C.
She’ll actually get a bigger national audience sitting on those Committee hearings.
Every network will be covering them wall to wall. This pick is monumental.
Agreed. The more America sees of her, the more they can’t stand her.
So it’s a win no matter how it breaks.
I hope kamella brings out her most ugly, like she did to Kavanaugh, because Americans need to be reminded how despicable she is before they vote.
But her shoes are so cool. /s

Not sure about the 3rd Circuit (PA). That one’s pretty even by the various presidential nominations. MN (8th) and Michigan (6th) Wisconsin (7th) should be conservative.
PA is where the action is.
Gawr Geso has a deeper understanding of the US than I do. Where is WN?
Hahaha!
That’s either Winnesota or Wichigan
Hades must be roaring tonight with the addition of that Marxist mummy. May she and McTumor torment each other until Romney joins them
Speaking of the River Stxy. Bill Gates’ dad passed away like yesterday.
God, in His infinite wisdom, knows how to expose the secrets of the hearts of mankind. There is a divine reason for the timing of this death. I marvel at how much has been exposed, how the dregs are being brought to light like never before. The enemy’s camouflage is being stripped off, and we are able to see which side of the great divide each and every person is standing on. And we, each of us, are given the opportunity to stand with what is righteous. It is a marvelous sight and I thank God that He is in control now. The tares are being separated from the wheat. God is indeed God and there is no other!
Amen ,The almighty God is in control completely,in Jesus Christ precious name.
Just a few days ago, the Jewish state of Israel signs historic peace deal in Washington DC. RBG dies tonight in Washington DC on Rosh Hashanah.
Rosh Hashanah. Began at sunset of Friday, September 18, 2020 Ends nightfall of Sunday, September 20, 2020. No work is permitted. Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year.
President Trump’s reaction was very moving upon hearing of RBG’s death. https://twitter.com/TeamTrump/status/1307131290714603520?s=20
https://twitter.com/TeamTrump/status/1307131290714603520?s=20
President Trump’s reaction to the death of RBG with “Tiny Dancer” by Elton John playing in the background after the MN rally was perfectly on tone and on message.
Absolutely perfect. And that song… one of my all-time favorites already, but now I’ll never again be able to hear it without thinking of this. 🙁
This actually could be one of the most profound events in a series of events leading up to us taking back our country.
Respect me some President Trump.
Always a class act.
Please Lord forgive me, and sorry SD, but the American flag and the cross should be replaced with the darkest of dark flags and a millstone to represent what this woman did with her life during her very brief time on earth. I shall say no more.
Looking forward to congressional democrats arguing to respect “The Biden Rule”
RIP Justice Ginsburg.
Now, there is no need to rush and nominate a replacement for her position on the high court. That can wait until after the election. The Senate will have plenty of time (Nov.4 – Jan. 1) to confirm whomever President Trump puts forward.
And, there is no absolute need to have nine members on the court. In the interim any critical ruling minus her leftist vote should theoretically end up with a 5 – 3 decision. If she wanted to have been replaced by another leftist, guaranteed, she could have stepped down 10 years ago and let Barack Obama and Harry Reid carry on her position.
She lost control of her legacy going forward. It was her choice.
SAY WHAT?
I disagree. Trump has to nominate and hopefully confirm someone asap, especially with the Democrats going to cheat to run the election. Do you think the Democrats would wait until after an election were they in the same position. No!
What would the democrats do? Take advantage of every opportunity with glee.
hey…let’s replace Wray and Esper right now. while the MSM is paying homage to Ruthy Baby…Why not, the Dems would…and BTW, collect their cell phones and laptops before they can be wiped…lessons learned
Roberts????
I would agree except for Roberts. He is political through and through. I could easily see him voting with the libs just to make a political point that the Court isn’t political, even though it is.
All we need to know about Roberts is that he declared Obamacare
a “tax”.
And… just like that, Mitch McConnell becomes the second most important person in the country.
He hasn’t been shy in saying he likes that a lot of his legacy will be based on his efforts to place conservatives in open seats of the federal judiciary.
I think he’s the right man at the right time to swing the Supreme Court into the conservative column … critically, before the election.
Yeah, I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if he and Trump haven’t already sat down to discuss “the list”. Out of the 20 or so, Trump has it narrowed down to 3 or 4 and then — if Mitch can guarantee the vote — lets HIM chose which of those final 3 or 4 it’ll be.
McConnell and Lindsey have to play ball, they are up for re-election.
I took a peak at cnn.com ‘s front page.
They are freaking out. Trying to set the narrative of no replacement before the election.
Unfortunately for the Progressives, they’ve overplayed their hand. As Ted Cruz pointed out, we can not have a split SCOTUS with all of the lawfare the Progressives are using now and are threatening to use.
The point is that the SCOTUS has to be full up.
I can spare a thought for her family and am glad she is for G-d to judge not me.
However I cannot keep the thought of millions of babies tortured & killed from my mind, nor forget that RBG wanted to decrease the age of consent to 12 yrs, putting very young girls on witness stands to be savaged and smeared by defense attorneys. I cannot forget the “people we want less of” embrace of abortions, paid for with public funds so we could all share in the atrocity.
Trying not to be funny here but have they woken up Biden yet to read his staff’s message on Ruthie to the press?
Yes. And read it he did.
Insofar as the possible insurrection, please be clear.
The War of the States, the Civil War is cannot be compared with the 21st C Helter Skelter, the Race War brought to you by the DNC. The cops acted stupidly. If I had a son, he’d be that thug, Trayvon… that gentle giant that just robbed and assaulted the Asian storekeeper that tried to get the responding Officers gun, EFFIN ETC >>
Read the former First Lady’s Princeton ‘s Thesis … I read it when it was available. 99 Pages to 1200 People with 400 response…she sent out postcards. “thus” was her word in almost every

What a sin. I feel so bad for this under-served, under-privileged person suffering in the City of Chicago in the1980s. What a shame that she grew upto be a moaning, groaning ingrate elitist.
SEGREGATE and DIVIDE
I perceive the timing of her passing and the prospect of a Trump nomination on the cusp of the cheating and fraud that will be committed by those seeking to overthrow our system of governance to be an act of God akin to General Washington escaping NY.
It is hard to know.

Mark Twain’s Quote should be considered the Quote of the Year.
“Its Easier to Fool People, than to convince them that they have been Fooled.”
“Trail blazing” for SOME women…..
Mine’s not.
Yeah, yeah, Trailblazer for women. who by the way, endure childbirth and more.
trailblazer for feminist liberalism and de masculinization …
Immediately nominate a far left liberal. The dems. will then not call for delay.
They will be behind the Senate calling for the vote. Give them and the fake media a couple of weeks to hang themselves, and then withdraw the nomination and immediately nominate a far left conservative. The dems and media will then go bat chit crazy and we have exposed them as totally partisan. Their only excuse will then be the nominee is too conservative. That will further expose their hypocrisy because they had no problem supporting a far leftist.
His spox already denied that Romney has decided anything.
But Ann did donate to PP.
Romney will take some time to figure how to best screw over conservatives and then do that. Despicable creature.
Mitt is waiting for Sorous to call to get his instructions…
RIP RBG. That said, let’s get someone nominated and in the hot seat. Dems won’t be able to help themselves as they insult and project their way into an ever deeper hole of public resentment on the eve of a Presidential election. Never let a crisis go to waste.
wrong…we will celebrate the decades of nightmarish EVIL that THIS ONE PERSON REPRESENTED IN
OUR
SUPREME
COURT.
GOOD RIDDANCE…
there is NOTHING
ZERO
ZILC
NADA
honorable about the rulings of this person…
she dispised the godly Christian virtue… abandoned it and substituted her own brand of outrageous interpretation.
and yes I hold the sane view to nearly every single sc judge over the last 4 decades.
when our supreme court rejects the very foundations of Christian tenets, there is NOTHING honorable… nothing to celebrate.
GOD works in very strange ways. We know! GOD knows! All conservatives know! Get’er done in one week!
Is it okay to confess that I am not exactly heart-broken? I would have been a lot more sympathetic had she retired with dignity due to her advanced age and serious health issues. But no, that lady had to pretend that she was cancer-free and in a good enough shape to outlive President Trump. It was all politics for her and her allies. Elderly abuse is what the left is all about but she was more than happy to play along, just like Biden, and that’s just wrong.
Let’s see if PDJT nominates someone (hopefully, a young male and NOT catholic) after the funeral. In 2016, Obama nominated a liberal guy to fill Justice Scalia’s seat. Leader McConnell is the only reason we have Gorsuch instead because he firmly told Obama NO due to their so-called “election year” unwritten rule.
Democrats screamed for months. One of the reasons they hate Turtle so much.
Obama was not running for re-election, though, but Trump is. A slightly different situation. And McConnell himself is on the ballot this time. So, hard to predict what he would do.
Interestingly enough, Trump just announced his updated list. I bet he knew what was going on with Ruth. Perhaps she was already dead or mostly dead (on life support) at that time. We shall know in a week. Democrats would boycott the nomination process anyway.
Hey, we can all wait a few days to give our opinions of RBG the SC Justice, can’t we. For today, why not just think of her as an old lady who had been suffering for a long time with a terrible disease, who despite that had tried to keep on working. Who gave up on the chance to have a long, happy retirement. There are no doubt some little kids in her extended family who think of her as nothing more or less than a loving old lady. So just for today, let’s think about that.
Condolences to the family.
My opinion of RBG hasn’t changed in a decade and I am not a hypocrite. She promoted and defended evil and put herself above the Constitution. I will not pretend that her words and actions did not define her or that death elevates her. Save your sympathy for the millions of babies that died in agony who we will never know.
It doesn’t apply to someone who screwed the country and
dissed President Trump and his voters. No, not deserved.
Let her family mourn her as an “old lady”.
No.
Ted Cruz is on POTUS’ list, I believe.
He would not be able to vote on his confirmation. We cannot afford to lose any Senators before the election or we might lose the majority.
Ted is already on the record as not wanting the nomination. And with good reason: his wife is a deep state Globalist.
Cruz publicly stated last week that he was grateful for the honor, but would not accept the nomination.
This has to be the fastest 750 comments on CTH history! ?
Lots of conspiracy theories running wild here. Everything that happens in life isn’t because of politics. She was ill and happened to die within 60 days of an election. It can happen. Demonrats will turn it into political theater because they turn everything into political theater. Who knows what the GOP will do.
As for RBG’s passing super motivating the left to vote in November, I think their TDS is already full blown. The issues most at risk right now are the potential loss of 1st and 2nd amendment rights and in todays environment, this gives PDJT the better case to make in picking the next justice.
In the political world 20 or 30 years ago when there was at least some decency shown by some democrats, I would be against trying to ram thru a nominee this close to an election. But we all know that if the dimms had the Presidency and Senate right now, that’s exactly what they would do. So if the votes are there, may as well give it a go.
That being said, I highly doubt 51 or even 50 GOP Senate votes will be their to confirm a new Justice. Dilecto and Murkowski would be two right off the top and Collins will likely take the “not until after the election” stance being she’s in a tough race. I doubt the Turtle will put any of his vulnerable members up for reelection in a spot to take that vote. Hope I’m wrong.
I think Collins is really between the rock and hard place now! She is a REP. If she screws up now she can definitely kiss that seat goodbye
