In a series of posts to his X account, Elon Musk has called the baby ugly as it pertains to Ukraine and the DC system that benefits from the continued funding exploits. This response appears to be pushback against those who are blaming him for restricting the use of Starlink systems.
A few hours before this post, the Wall Street Journal published yet another article on the Starlink/Starshield dynamic where they attempted to walk back part of their prior false reporting – yet frame the new information as Musk was still to blame.
(VIA WSJ) – The Ukrainian military says the disruption of its use of Starlink satellites is having a significant impact on Kyiv’s defenses against Russia’s invasion. The slowdown triggered a wave of finger-pointing, much of it focused on the difference between SpaceX’s better-known Starlink service for consumers and its Starshield service for government users.
SpaceX Chief Executive Elon Musk ordered the slowdown and discussed the decision in a call with President Trump, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday. U.S. officials said Trump called Musk Wednesday and asked him to lift restrictions. But Ukrainian officials said they were still suffering from low-speed limits early on Friday.
What is Starlink? – Starlink is SpaceX’s global network of more than 11,000 low-Earth-orbit satellites that beam broadband service to terminals around the world. Starlink customers include rural homeowners, recreational boaters, airlines—and hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians. Many civilians use the relatively cheap satellite service to stay online where the country’s broadband infrastructure is damaged.
What is Starshield? – Starshield is SpaceX’s more secure satellite service for governments. It has two variants: a custom-built satellite network SpaceX launched for the Pentagon; and a lower-tier, military-grade service that connects to commercial Starlink satellites. The more basic service offers encryption features, and allows the equipment to travel at faster speeds than those on a commercial Starlink account.
What service does Ukraine use? – Ukraine is using the more basic Starshield service, which uses Starlink’s equipment. Ukraine’s weapons—attack drones, interceptors and uncrewed boats—need to travel at high speeds to intercept Russian Shahed-type drones, bomb the Russian army’s logistics and stall Russia’s invasion force. Many of those drone missions are now failing because of the speed limit imposed by SpaceX, according to the Ukrainian military.
The U.S. government owns the physical Starshield satellite constellation that SpaceX operates, but that isn’t the infrastructure that Ukrainian forces are using. Troops there use a kind of “Starshield as a service”—infrastructure owned and controlled by SpaceX. Some of the Starshield links used in Ukraine were bought with U.S. funds, including through a $138 million contract issued in 2024.(read more)
When you peel all the skin back from the layers of this narrative, what we likely discover is that Ukraine was using the Starlink (“Starshield as a service”) product to launch and guide drones into Russia, thereby using Musk’s network to carry out attacks into Russia likely without authorization.
With all of the deal-making before these Starlink issues, during the Starlink issues and after the Starlink issues, the actual clarity of the situation is muddled. However, if President Trump is trying to leverage both Ukraine and Russia toward a peace agreement, the elimination of Zelenskyy’s ability to weaponize Starlink is likely a shove in the direction of peace.
UPDATE: Here’s is a very plausible explanation of what may have taken place:
[VIA X-Platform] – “This technical thread suggests (explains) that the entire Starlink/shield slowdown issue is not a consequence of a political decision in the US or by Musk but the result of Ukrainian engineers hacking the system to bypass it’s controls and do something they are not permitted to do – and when Starlink took steps to prevent the bypassing and ensure the controls remained effective, suddenly the system stopped working in ‘bypass mode’ – and Zelensky then set out to politicise matters. The explanation makes the bits of the puzzle fit together and fits with the New York Times article in which Ukrainians explained that although the system is formally limited to 100 mph they have managed to exceed it.”

“What was really going on with the Starlink scandal in Ukraine? An analysis of the technical modifications, hacker boards, Elon Musk’s restrictions, and why drones started falling at the end of 2026 and Zelensky staged a pre-election Trump scandal. Big thread 👇 1/15
Let’s start with the tariffs. Inside the country, only civilian Starlink has always worked: the basic tariff ($100), commercial in-motion ($400), and priority headquarters ($2–4k). Aviation tariffs cost up to $1K–20K–100K+, but they are unavailable in the country. 2/15
Because of the high load, the network was overloaded. SpaceX had to keep prices high for the military in order to build an excess of ground stations around Ukraine for minimal signal latency. By the way, these sites with antenna domes recently began to be burned on orders from the darknet. 3/15
The main problem at the front is electronic warfare (EW). Because of GPS jamming, civilian Starlink chips froze, and with false location the terminal was blocked. The solution was a GPS hack board. Engineers soldered it inside to manually set the required coordinates. 4/15
The hack boards also allowed bypassing Musk’s geographic zones. For a long time Starlink did not work in the gray zone under Russian control. But if you entered the coordinates of a neighboring region of Ukraine, the connection came back to life. The Russians used this too, until Kyiv received exclusive whitelists. 5/15
By 2025 Musk began tightening the screws and lowering speed limits for commercial tariffs. But military engineers discovered a loophole: technically the satellite-terminal communication session is not rigidly tied to GPS. The protection was only on the terminal module itself. 6/15
If the terminal thought via the hack board that it was static, it itself sent a radio request to the satellite and received the necessary data for the session. There are already about 10,000 satellites, and the signal was picked up even with a spread of 150+ km. The drone was flying, but the Starlink server considered it stationary. 7/15
This was a shared secret. Before being sent to the front, the cases of new Starlinks were massively opened in order to solder in the GPS hack and install durable moisture-proof connectors. This way the ordinary tariff allowed drones to fly at high speeds. 8/15
At the beginning of 2026 Musk lowered the speed of the commercial tariff to 160 km/h across the entire planet. This is below the speed of many simple UAVs with a tailwind. But because of the mass use of hack boards in Ukraine, no one noticed this. The terminals reported that they were supposedly standing still. 9/15
At the END of 2026 SpaceX responded harshly. A server-side check was introduced: if according to GPS the terminal is stationary, but at the same time it switches from satellite to satellite too quickly (which reveals a real speed above 160 km/h), the server instantly drops the session. 10/15
The GPS hack stopped working. Ukrainian military began having problems with long-range UAVs. Now flights must be strictly planned so as not to exceed the 160 km/h limit. There is not always money for aviation tariffs, and SpaceX does not sell them because of the attacking nature of the use. 11/15
Against this background Zelensky is trying to get access to StarShield (the US military Starlink) without restrictions in order to fly over the Russian Federation. But Trump, Musk, and the Pentagon refuse him. The Ukrainians presented the restrictions as a political blockade, remaining silent about the fact that the Starlink speed limit has already been in place for a year. 12/15
Now there is behind-the-scenes ping-pong: Musk says that he changed nothing these days, Rubio states that StarShield is unavailable to Ukraine. The bottom line: Starlink is gradually being squeezed into the framework of cars and stationary use. Bypassing the system no longer works. 13/15
Whether the speed check was turned off or access was given to special aviation tariffs is still unclear. The failure affected a narrow segment of drones. However, satellite communication on super-high-speed drones was already a compromise because of the signal delays of 1000 km to orbit and back. 14/15
Russian UAV specialists are in no hurry to rejoice. The simplicity of using Starlink slowed down the development of other technologies in Ukraine. Now Kyiv can, on an emergency priority basis, refine more complex autonomous mesh-AI systems that will fly deep into the Russian Federation. End of thread. 15/15 {source}

Carney is such a globalist EUnuch. Canadians should be embarrassed of that azzhat
Carney; the world’s latest “light bringer” aka Lucifer.
Oh hang on there, just like his hero’s O’Biden, Pelosi, Fauchi?, Burn’It in England and several Eunechos, my Chicago Pope , he is a staunch practising Catholic on good term with ‘my’ Chicago Pope.
The Chicago Pope is a liberal globalist and the Catholic NGOs have played a significant role in allowing the millions of Illegal aliens to enter our country under the guise of compassion. This is one of several reasons why I am no longer a Catholic.
Neither am I.
Can you imagine being forced to view this- or any other Pope- as “infallible???”
A trip to the Vatican pushed me over the edge after seeing the immense, enormous treasures stuck away in 11th – 20th century pornography.
Hypocrites.
“Petrean theory.” The pope’s infallible belief… by some. Good thing you didn’t visit the Vatican’s underground rooms, graves, etc..
Wonder if there are any photos of the Chicago Pope eating a hot dog with ketchup??? LOL
The Canadian Middle Class and POOR are getting squeezed… jobs are leaving Canada hurting them more, yet the first thing Carney cries about is Ukraine.
I wonder how much Carney has gotten from that sweet Ukrainian Cheedar?
… whoever holds his strings and makes him sing and talk may get a bigger cut.
Predictable, vocal flatulence coming from Carney – Canada’s version of Adam Schiff.
Zelenskyy is a liar.
The Wall Street Journal lied, continues to lie, and is peddling its lies to the rest of the corrupt corporate media.
Today’s chopper presser featured more lying based on the media pretending not to know the difference between Starlink, Starshield, Star Wars, Star Trek, and Dancing With the Stars.
Arrogant ignorance combined with pathological lying is a dangerous combination.
Upvoted you for mentioning Star Wars, Star Trek, and Dancing With the Stars.
Bingo. That’s what the MSM and gut-eating, corrupt politicians do.
They are the Marketing and PR Department for CaughtInAct and or ForgetaBoutIt. Same for the Post and of course the Times. Great write off for their owners, while the IRS will let them take the hit. 😉
How about these too…
Little Debbie Star Crunch
And Z is a Star Baby.
Interesting lyrics. “Star Baby explores infatuation with a glamorous performer who captivates the narrator despite her unfaithful nature. The song presents a conflicted attraction where the speaker acknowledges being manipulated by someone he calls a “two-timin’ mama” yet remains drawn to her flashy appeal and celebrity status.”
Hmmm.
The Wall Street urinal
Let’s hope He/they completely cut starlink/starshield for them. Long past time to end this.
No Miss Lindsey to McCain this for Z Man.
The warmonger Republican politicians are probably also benefitting because of their investments in the arms industry.
I find all warmongering US politicians despicable people who have the blood of many both Ukrainians and Russians on their hands for pouring gasoline of the flames of this war. They could have pushed for a peace settlement in 2022 and spared these lives.
WSJ reporting makes me wonder what’s their angle in the war laundering opn?
Please, President Trump: Follow through on your campaign promise to end this war. The US has no interest in Ukraine. Russia and Putin are NOT the enemy of the US.
You can lead a horse to water…
We don’t want to go to war to end that war.
Ultimately it’s up to Russia and Ukraine to make that decision.
There is no ignorance here. There are simply narrative, propaganda and the most expedient lies. First Lil’ Z specifically complained that he couldn’t use Starlink to hit targets inside of Russia. Now, to garner sympathy, the narrative has changed. Now he sez that he wants to use Starlink for defensive purposes. The bottom line is that offensive purposes and defensive purposes are both military purposes, which are banned under the terms of service. To the best of his ability, Elon should ban all Ukrainian governmental use of Starlink for thirty days. Let ’em sit in time-out for a month and then perhaps they will comply with the terms of service.
How many times are the European political leaders going to destroy their people?
The Nazi-themed Europe, including Ukraine, is playing out the final chapter of WWII.
The USA has spent 350 billion. Orban said the EU has spent 340 billion,
The UK and Canada have signed 100-year agreements with Ukraine.
The young men in the 24th SS Panzergrenadier Regiment “Danmark” fought to the last man,
as Ukraine now fights to the last man.
A ceasefire or a ”peace”agreement without a winner and loser will just prolong the war.
Rebuilding means rearming and waiting for Ukrainian children to grow into men.
Maybe Russia has been strategically defeated and is ready to have a peace ”deal”.
Meh. At this point, a lasting strategy peace means the fake state of Ukraine should be given back to it’s respective parts.
The ugly baby is the munchkin himself.
Weazelenskyy is eliminating most of Ukraine’s military age males. Can anybody guess where their replacements will come from after the war is over?
If you’re insinuating immigration, I doubt it. Too many NAZI’s still in power.
I would bet the USA paid for Starlink to help prevent Ukraine from being isolated and for general comms. I suspect that Ukraine then weaponized it for their drone program.
So, any proof with names of the US politicians making bank at the laundromat ?
One has to wonder what the story would be if the Russians were using starlink plus as ukraine is using it now….
A Hypothetical of course….How dare they he the russians use that to attack inside the Ukraine…There is a TOS musk allow to be violated…you get the picture
Guessing Russia has its own satellites.
