Royal Airforce base Fairford, is a U.K-owned base operated by the United States under an agreement that goes back to the 1950’s cold war era. However, recently Airbase Fairford has been used by American strategic bombers for strikes against Iranian missile sites under an agreement with former British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Overnight, at 12:45 a.m British police received a warning about three suspicious vans traveling toward RAF Fairford, with a tip that a coordinated terrorist attack was planned against the American base.
U.K police alerted the base, which immediately triggered threat alerts, then police intercepted the vans and arrested five males on suspicion of terrorism.
LONDON (AP) — U.K. police said Sunday that five men arrested in the middle of the night near an air base used by the United States during its war against Iran are being held on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act that appeared to involve three trucks.
London’s Metropolitan Police, which takes the lead on potential terrorist activities, said police received a call at 12:45 a.m. related to the three suspicious vehicles that appeared to be traveling toward RAF Fairford, a U.K.-owned base that is operated by the U.S. under an agreement dating back to the Cold War.
Fairford has been used by American bombers for strictly limited strikes against Iranian missile sites under an agreement with former British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who voiced opposition to the war after it was launched by the U.S. and Israel on Feb. 28.

The Telegraph reports a local farmer near RAF Fairford, driving home from a party in the early hours, came across three seemingly abandoned white vans blocking a quiet country road. Confused, she turned her car around. As she did so, she saw a group of masked men in balaclavas scattering into the trees and across the fields towards RAF Fairford. She then accelerated away and called the police

“Thinking about it now, and what could have happened if they had tried to stop me from driving away, I am quite lucky,” the farmer told The Telegraph.
“It is pretty incredible, realising you had a brush with potential terrorists face to face and may have foiled a terrorist plot. It was clear they had just got there. Thank God we spotted them.”
She said the vans struck her as being suspicious from the moment she saw them, as a phone number and lettering on the back of the vehicles appeared to be fake.
She said: “I just thought what the hell are they doing… I saw a group of Middle Eastern-looking young guys running off through the trees. Some of them had masks or balaclavas on, and they all scattered ahead of us as we drove back past.
“Some of them ran into the fields, and some of them turned to run towards the air base. We realised this was something pretty serious. We knew the air base had a credible threat of a terrorist attack before last night. So as soon as I saw them I was worried.
“I mean, you don’t see masked men running around at half one in the morning in the countryside near a secure air base and not have concerns.”
One of the white vans was labelled “FUEL 2YOU” in red lettering, with a phone number.

Living in Florida from 1980-2017 I was constantly being called a redneck RACIST!!! from every single person I met from above the Mason Dixon line that had relocated to Florida just because I was raised most of my life in Alabama (growing up poor and having lots of black friends that I still trust till even today). As soon as their opinions were shown to be idiot illiterate Yankee dumbasses I would laugh at them, mook them for moving to a deep southern state then tell them where they could promptly go and what they could do to themselves anatomically. There are a whole lot of things worse that can happen from other than being called a racist now days, such as ignoring suspicious behavior then finding out that what you saw developed into a terrorist attack, regardless of where it comes from. People should applaud this brave woman for calling it in.
I’m surprised in today’s Britain that police didn’t arrest this lady for defaming the Islamists. Of course, the day is still young.

Some info is obviously missing. 5 men left 3 vans sitting/blocking a road, they left the vans and ran. If they had suicide vests I understand going on foot to get 5 different locations but why 3 vans?

Reports also indicate that the civilian who noticed the vans, first tried to call the airbase itself, but there was no answer, so they then called the police.
