This comes on the heels of former Canadian Minister and current Ukrainian advisor for reconstruction, Chrystia Freeland complaining about the Trump administration creating a “vassal state,” from her office in Ukraine; the ultimate vassal state. Again, typically Canadian.

If your biggest customer is telling you it wants fair two-way trade, rather than a system where you feel free to slap various tariffs on it, and you clutch the pearls and hurl insults when it begins to reciprocate, along with even more tariffs, then you are in for a rough ride with the likes of Donald Trump.

A few years ago there were a bunch of memes with the phrase “winter is coming” and I can’t help think that Ontario Premier Ford, in his comments that Canada should cut off the supply of Canadian oil & gas that it supplies to the U.S. and saw online that the very pipeline he thinks should be cut off is actual the oil & gas that goes through the U.S. up to Ontario and wonder, will that part of Canada survive a tough winter?

Their local grocery stores will have to explain to their customers why they don’t have fresh fruit, lettuce, and the like. Will Canadian farmers invest the money to grow and harvest those crops? Orange, strawberries, cantaloupe etc need a longer growing season than whats available in Canada. It would cost them a fortune to build greenhouses capable of supporting that style of farming, never mind the fuel costs to maintain the heating required to keep crops from failing. Their growing season isn’t as long as California or Florida.

Canada, federally/nationally, has devolved into a dictatorial and tyrannical totalitarian hellhole where persecution, debanking, censorship, and intimidation of the populous is now the norm. Their Gov, like that of the UK, most of the balance of Europe, and Australia are no longer our actual allies. They do not share our values and are actively working to destroy their own respective societies and western civilization as well.

It really drives me crazy how my fellow Canadians can be so ignorant of our own history. We’ve always been a vassal-state, first of the British Empire and then, after WWII, of the American Empire, for all intents and purposes (anyone who says otherwise is selling something, to quote the Dread Pirate Roberts).
Further, I’d argue that America has treated Canada better than Britain did: as has been focused on extensively here, Canada enjoyed a very privileged position with America economically, and America has never called upon Canada to sacrifice tens of thousands of soldiers to the imperial cause as Britain twice did (though I take a certain degree of sober pride in the fact that a rather large number of Canadians volunteered to serve in the U.S. military during Vietnam).
