Senators Thom Tillis and John Cornyn finally dropped their opposition to Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche advancing the nomination with a judiciary committee vote 12-10 along party lines.
Senator Chuck Grassley navigated a pathway out of the committee with an agreement by AAG Blanche that an IRS lawsuit settlement agreement between the DOJ and Trump attorneys would not create a J6 victim’s compensation fund.
The $1.8 billion settlement between the IRS and lawyers representing President Trump for leaking the candidates’ personal tax returns still remains at the heart of the matter. What Donald Trump and the Trump Organization plan to do with the settlement is unknown, hence the political consternation about the settlement remains in place.
WASHINGTON DC – […] Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said ahead of the vote that Cornyn and Tillis’ concerns about the fund “and the IRS settlement were shared by many, including this senator.” He added that the changes Blanche made “put this issue to bed once and for all.”
Democrats lambasted the deal Cornyn and Tillis struck, saying it would not meaningfully bind Trump from eventually resurrecting the payout fund and using his to enrich his political allies, including participants in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
“To state the obvious, Mr. Blanche’s statement on the slush fund and the IRS immunity agreement are not signed by the parties to the settlement agreement and are therefore unenforceable,” said Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois, the top Democrat on the panel. “The parties could still sue to enforce the agreement and the cop-beaters fund can easily be revived with a new order from the Department of Justice 15 minutes after Mr. Blanche is confirmed as attorney general.” (read more)
The bottom line is that President Trump had already told the Senate he was going to continue the use of previously confirmed Deputy AG Todd Blanche as the leader of the DOJ regardless of their opposition to his “Acting AG” status.
Tillis and Cornyn are both leaving the Senate at the conclusion of this term in January. As they depart, they stand as physical embodiment of the elite and detachment mindset within the Senate that believes they are the source of omnipotent power from the upper chamber.
Democrats thirst power and use money to achieve influence.
Republicans thirst money and use power to achieve affluence.
This dynamic represents the ideology behind both wings of the UniParty in Washington DC.

A wins a win, ask Hillary 😂
Injustice is an INJUSTICE!
Tell that Win story to the families of the J6 victims.
Absolutely!
The illegal hoax perpetrated against the J6-ers was and is criminal.
Compensation is in order.
Leave it to the Graft Masters to stymie that!
The settlement money was already awarded to Trump for the Biden IRS/DOJ unlawful release of his, and scores of others, tax records.
He can just claim it and distribute it to the J6 victims in his own name rather than of the DOJ, which caused the wrongful damages to the J6 victims under Biden.
Since Trump technically won the settlement from the IRS, the UniParty idiots and assholes of DC screeched about IRS settlement money to be used to compensate DOJ victims.
Yeah, there is no ‘Make it make sense” about it.
Just remove the politicians ability to disburse ANY of it. Trump can do it on his own. And forbid the IRS assholes from trying to tax it!
Exactly!
Absolutely! Show them promises are like pie crusts, made to be broken.
Tragic that the J6 victims receive no compensation but all the Jewish professors and students receive reparations due to the Palestinian protest. And, the reparations were enforced by the DOJ, the same DOJ that persecuted the J6’ers. Once again, MAGA gets nothing and Israel/AIPAC/Jews are protected and compensated.
Reparations from our govt? From whom? And your Joo-hate slip is showing.
You’re a PROLIFIC sockpuppet…consider yourself blocked!
Thank you
Attorney General Todd Blanche….has a nice beat and you can dance to it! I like it!
about time
Take no prisoners
do ya’ll read the posts/comments underneath these things? Absolutely disgusting. All about covering up Epstein, pedophilia, child-rape and whatnot by Blance on behalf of Trump. Talk about conspiracy theorists, the libs take the cake, repeating propaganda and posting vile accusations without a shred of evidence. These are not the kind of people I would sacrifice for in the event of hard times.
It really is disgusting. You would think they would move on from Epstein and, maybe, be concerned about our country drowning in fraud.
Moving on from any injustice should never happen. Maybe it’s priority is moved way down, but it should never be thrown aside. There are murders from many years ago that get solved eventually because someone keeps the investigation in the air.
I had a teacher once who said you can’t change the future but you can surely change the past. The past is information and if that information changes, the past changes.

Those comments come from perhaps a few real persons, however for the most part the comments are automatically generated from bot farms.
0.o
Not just the libs, there are MANY on the right that have taken this stance since Candace & Tucker went on their campaign trail.
I’ll go at them online but they are digging their heals in. TDS is spreading into the right.
The comments on that post are insane…
They’re correct that the corrupt senators made a moron deal. It says that money can only go to the plaintiffs (Trump mostly). Ok then what? Trump has his private lawyers create the fund rather than the doj. They’re not actually stopping anything. It’ funny though how the democrats use sue and settle all the time, and republicans don’t say a word. Often dems will write the settlement and agree to it with greenpeace or whoever before they even file suit in a court, with their own handpicked judge who rubberstamps it. Pigford 1 and 2 for instance. This lets democrats change the law without any voting on it. Republicans have shown zero interest in stopping sue and settle until it almost actually benefitted the citizenry. I hate them so much. I’m voting for them anyways out of spite because I know they’re trying so hard to lose.
I had to laugh when I read your last sentence. That’s certainly a different way of looking at it. I agree completely.
The last sentence is glorious😅👌
It would have been better for DOJ to handle the fund. That way, those who were wronged after J6 would be having at least some of that wrong corrected officially. But if the Trump org takes the money and uses it for those people without DOJ being involved, that is still something good.
Also, considering the way those politicians in Congress play loose with agreements and money, what will prevent the confirmed AG from scrapping the agreement at some time in the future and having DOJ handle the compensation funds as originally planned?
Who forgot that these pampered princelings voted for legislation that would allow THEM to extort 500K taxpayer dollars per violation for their toll records being acquired by doj’s Jack Smith?
I hope AG Blanche announces a new fund right after he takes his hand off the Bible he’s sworn in on.
Considering how many “agreements” the RINOs have reneged on, once Blanche is confirmed, reinstate the anti-weaponization fund . It’s President Trump’s award, he can do as he pleases with it. The only part I don’t like is that the award is being paid by the taxpayers, not the individual/individuals involved. As taxpayers, why should these individuals be indemnified for violating his rights ?
imagine being PROUD to stiff american citizens who were politically imprisoned in this country. this former republic.
As long as there is no official mea culpa and accountability for what was done to those J6’rs during PDJT’s presidency the false and wicked history will stand that J6 was an insurrection and those found guilty in rigged trials by corrupt cops, prosecutors, judges and juries were guilty as sin and only let off by the chief insurrectionist who accidented himself back into power.
If PDJT only understood that is the legacy that media, all cultural reference points and historians, history book writers and publishers will ensure is told and taught to future generations when we are long gone so will be the truth of it.
We control none, zero of those who control official historical narratives. Without formalizing the truth his legacy will be told by his/our nation’s enemies.
This image is from an official US Capitol House Souvenir store guide that lists every president, highlights.
In a Republican-controlled US Capitol. This is what tourists, US and international, are told about PDJT. Officially. Think university history classes or grade school classes are any better? Or worse?
Those who control the present control history. Those who control history control the future. Either PDJT uses his present time controlling history or the future will not paint a very flattering picture of him, his presidencies. No matter how many EO’s and international agreements he inks. Which the Cornyn’s, Tillis’, Thune’s, etc have made sure is the disappearing ink variety.
Good riddance.
Cornyn and Tillis objected to Blanche in their pathetic, childish attempt to protect their turf. Trump let it be known their opposition wouldn’t change a thing.
Take your toys out of the sandbox and go home C & T. A real leader is in charge.
And that my friends, is how the UNIparty sausage is made. Its gross.
How dare they, with all the horrible treatment done to those of J6, to try and stop President Trump from helping them. We’ve seen too many of those who actually broke the law either in service to America or against America become rich to find any true justice is what has been denied those who have been unjustly treated. Its President Trump money so how can our government, congress, say how it will be spent.
Notice, no help for J6’ers but all the help for the Jewish Professors/students that the DOJ went after during the Palestinian protest.
Think of the FBIers who got millions after what they did to President Trump. Comey, etc. This does not sit pretty and what has the DOJ have to do with a settlement for a crime done to a citizen which President Trump was.
‘Truth forever on the scaffold. Wrong forever on the throne.” ~The Present Crisis
good riddance to them both!
Corny and Tilly are just pissed that they can’t get a cut of the $1.8B.
These “RINO” scumbags know exactly what went down on J6 they have to run cover to keep the nooses off their necks. Bring on the receipts we want justice.
Here in Texas, we’re replacing Cornyn with Paxton. We believe him to be MAGA & a patriot. The proof will be in the pudding. Who will replace Tillis’ ?
<Who will replace Tillis’ ?>
PDJT former C of S and former 4-term Congressman (very conservative voting record)…
Mark Meadows
Michael Whatley is the NC republican senate nominee. Whatley was chair of the Republican National Committee from 2024 to 2025. He previously served as chair of the North Carolina Republican Party from 2019 to 2024. Trump endorsed.
Roy Cooper is NC former Governor is the Democratic nominee. He has been running ads against the insurance companies and saying he is pro police, pro law enforcement. This while watching Raleigh BLM protests and doing nothing.
However, Whatley’s ads are few and weak. Tillis has been the biggest traitor to conservatism and beyond enraging. Whatley needs to step it up.
Team Pence, if I remember correctly.
Mark Meadows isn’t a candidate in the race to replace Tillis, so it’s unclear how you expect him to do so. Please expound on this statement.
Michael Whatley is the Republican running against former NC Gov Roy Cooper. The Dem enjoys a large lead in the polls and the RNC is not spending much money to support Whatley. Make of that what you will.
Mark Meadows isn’t a factor in this race, one way or another. Perhaps you have some special knowledge the rest of us are not privy to.
If it is a settlement fund received by President Trump, why should it concern these cretins if he wants to give it to the January 6th victims who suffered at the hands of Congress, in part (the “J6 Committee” that strangely destroyed all the material/evidence gathered which in itself should be a crime as the American people paid for that).
IMO, it POTUS Trump money to give away, burn it, eat it, shred it, throw it out a plane…..it’s his money
Give it to an NGO so that the democrats write legislation that NGO’s can’t give out money. Actually it would be an excellent psy-op against democrats. Make them despise NGO’s and republicans write the bills as if they are caving to democrats but ending these NGO’s is the real plan right after the money is dispersed.
We Texans voted 🌽 hole Out….we must get Paxton elected, his judiciary record is excellent.
VOTE PAXTON
VOTE RED OR DEAD
Talarico is a moral aberration and a heretic.
Plain and simple.
Judging by Mr. Talarico’s manifesto , I would say Talarico hasn’t got the sense God promised a billy goat.
The absolute sad part is there are “people “ listening to this nonsense
I like “Vote Red Or Your Country’s Dead” which I understand yours is shorthand for.
Leave it to Texans to get at the crux of a matter. 👍🎯
Those people, the J6 vast majority, were severely abused by the Justice system. People with no prior arrest record were overcharged for various minor offences such as trespassing and the personal damage for these individuals is incalculable. The fund must be used to compensate those J6ers so horrible abused by the Democrat weaponized judicial system misused for the purpose of damaging Trump. Many had their lives completely ruined. The Dems must not be allowed to set the narrative and block compensation. Is this again going to be nothing happens. It is getting very tiring to watch the Republicans point out all the lawfare abuses of the Democrats, wait for it, and nothing happens.
Some men, Blanche, you take one look at his face and your first thought is, “I wouldn’t f*** with him.” LOL
Does President Trump have to pay taxes on that $1.8 Billion settlement?
And will the J6er’s, either thru the DOJ or independently from POTUS, have to pay taxes on any amount they receive?
Are settlements considered income?
I am not sure but I doubt it….by definition a settlement is involved in making one whole and righting a wrong. BTW I do know that one can receive up to 6 million in lifetime as gifts but over 15k in a year requires IRS filing.
Cornyn is a yuuuuuge disappointment. Always blocking MAGA. A petty, vindictive, small-minded McConnell sock puppet.
We can’t get those two (McConnell & Cornyn) outta there fast enough.
What the Trump’s do with their own settlement is none of anyone’s business, it’s their money.
If they want to donate those funds to set up an account that helps victims, there is nothing wrong with that- it’s no different than any other account that helps victims.
They just have a problem with it because it’s so large and they don’t want their victims being helped- and certainly by Donald Trump.
If the Trump family was donating that money to something they agreed with, they’d be quite happy to take the money.
But their goals of Lawfare is is totally destroy their targets and they don’t then want them saved by Donald Trump, this is what is going on here.. if they’ve taken them down, they want them gone and out, not saved by The Orange Man.
The President also donates his paycheck and no one complains about that.
That they have the nerve to think they can control what Donald Trump does with his money is pretty telling.
These people can go pound sand and hopefully POTUS tells them just that.
Blanche is much better than Blondie. At this point we are almost 2 years in so not expecting much. Hopefully I am wrong.
