Facing serial accusations with multiple victims alleging sexual assault and rape, California Representative Eric Swalwell has announced he is dropping out of the California governor’s race.
Swalwell did not announce an exit from Washington DC, or a resignation from his position as congressman. Therefore, it would appear that rape and sexual assault are disqualifiers for Governor, but for a DC Democrat congressman, deviant and exploitative conduct is standard.

Interestingly, as many are catching on: if it’s so bad that he needs to drop out of the CA gubernatorial race, how come only a small few are calling for him to resign from Congress, or for them to put him up for expulsion?

I dislike Swalwell and with good reason but he is being tried in the court of public opinion. Those of us who have defended President Trump against accusation, and defended many of his supporters similarly accused, should not immediately accept the allegations against Swalwell without proper skepticism. Unfortuately, not all women can be believed in an ugly situation like this one. The most reviled individuals in our society still deserve proper legal treatment before any punishment is rendered. Do not mistake my opinion for a defense of Swalwell as an individual. He may well be guilty of sexual abuse.

The gist of the accusations, that Swalwell is the sort who treats his marriage as a sometime hobby, has been confirmed by Swalwell’s own drunken mouth, as I’m sure will come out. But you’re right, the multiple accusations, alone, without a history of extramarital escapades (read: Fang Fang, the Chinese honeypot) should not otherwise be enough to convict.
But to be fair, Swalwell himself set the scales of judgment during the Kavanaugh hearings, when he raced to the microphones to intone the “believe women” line and suggest that the accusations themselves were enough to disqualify the Justice, despite Kavanaugh’s vehement denials.

So, was Swalwell to be believed then, when he condemned Kavanaugh based simply on accusations, or now, when the accusations are against him? Should we not judge him with the same scales that he publicly set up?

I listened to the interview with the woman who claimed Swalwell raped her on two separate occasions. I can’t see how a DA from New York would or could bring charges based on her testimony. If they do bring charges there is no way it would end up in a guilty verdict. Swalwell’s attorney’s would tear her apart.

IMO the DNC must have realized that with all their cheating to get Swalwell past the CA Primary in June, that it wouldn’t have done any good, as there is additional even more serious baggage that the FBI has been recently investigating re Swalwell that could have been a show-stopper in getting him over the finish line in November. One suspects the FBI investigation involves Swalwell’s intimate relationship with the Chinese spy, Fang Fang. Once the CA race was locked in to the two candidates, one of whom is likely to be a Republican, it would have been too late to dump him overboard. The DNC would probably be capable of doing literally anything than to risk a GOP Governor getting elected and interfering with their crime syndicate operations in CA.
So they pulled the plug on Swalwell and now will probably put their crime machine behind Katie Porter, despite her infamy for anger management problems and throwing a pot of boiling potatoes over her husband’s head, which came out in their divorce. Never-the-less, despite her liabilities and because of the massive election fraud that exists in CA & the DOJ’s refusal to do anything about it, expect her to become the next CA Governor.
