Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene announced on Twitter that she is resigning from Congress following her public feud with President Donald Trump. MTG will leave office January 5, 2026.
Marjorie Greene was elected to Congress in 2020 from a rural northwestern Georgia district. Prior to her surprise announcement she stood beside Representative Thomas Massie on controversial issues.
.
From the video, “I have too much self-respect and dignity, love my family way too much, and do not want my sweet district to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the President we all fought for, only to fight and win my election while Republicans will likely lose the midterms.”

She spoke a lot of truth, and I certainly don’t question her patriotism, but going on the view and other leftist places, was below dignity.
Let’s look ahead to her replacement. I like Johnny “Joey” Jones. He’s certainly been battle tested and he’s from northern Georgia.
MJG: to all the people sticking up for her,
Never believe a “purist” is a good choice, for anything.
Either they are pretending (which means they are phonies) or they are actual believers ( that makes them illogical, incapable of common sense, people who, therefore, should not hold power)
MTG, Rand Paul, Thomas Massie: I’ve decided which kind each of these is.
How about all of us quit pretending that Donald J. Trump is never wrong. He is wrong, and has been time and again, especially in his personnel choices; Susy wiles, Pam Blondi, Marco Rubio, Kounterfit Kash Patel, Todd Blanche, John Ratcliff, just to name a few. These were his choices, and they are the primary reason that his agenda for the American people has been stalled, and yet he tells everyone that Susy Wiles is the most powerful woman in the world and actually runs the Presidency.
His increasing attention to what is happening in other countries makes it clear that his America First pledge was not sincere. It seems as if Ukraine, Israel, Argentina, Venezuela, Nigeria, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia and a host of others are far more important to him-or to whomever is giving him advice. When challenged on this, his response is that he is the “President of the World”. Last time I checked the American people voted for him to fix this country, not the world.
His intransigence on the Epstein files for benefit of his donors and fellow billionaires who are likely on that list, and his insults and alienation of many of his base who were promised its release by him during his campaign, has cost him. Epstein is not just a “shiny toy”. It was an intel op that involved Mossad, CIA, and MI6, and if released in full would show this to the American public, who would then see that our own CIA, and others, were pimping out underage American girls to important people for blackmail purposes, using their tax dollars to do so. His insistence that H1B visas be continued, and that 600,000 Chinese students-spies-is another sure fire way to insure that the younger American college grads or tech workers who can’t get a job or a place in a college will definitely vote for someone whom they think will do so.
He has virtually guaranteed that the Democrats will take the House of Representatives in ’26, and possibly the Senate. He will be impeached again, and my bet is that he will be removed by the Senate even if the R’s hold it, as his political capital is gone. If he does not make the pivot back to America First PDQ, this will be his fate.
As far as Marjorie Taylor-Greene and Thomas Massie are concerned, they REPRESENT their constituencies, and vote accordingly. President Trump’s nastiness in his public comments IRT both of them are uncalled for, and are another nail in the coffin of his Presidential legacy. To say that I am disappointed in President Trump’s performance in the last 6 months would be an understatement. He started out like a ball of fire, but squandered an opportunity to build a coalition which would have dominated for 30 years. I don’t blame MTG for resigning. After standing with President Trump through thick and thin, then being called a traitor for insisting that he keep his promises, it clearly shows how true the old saying goes, “Beware the gratitude of Princes”-or Presidents.
Actually, I believe those choices were made for him by donors in the Sea Island Group
Never wrong? Who said that?
Nobody EVER said President Trump is never wrong.
You made that up.
His choices may not be ideal, true.
If you had to fish a team out of the swamp, and let’s face it anyone remotely connected to the political machine is a swamp creature or has the potential to be one, who would you have fished out?
List them and explain your vetting process if you do not mind?
The bulk of your post reflects naivety and an apparent lack of understanding with regard to geopolitics.
However, you as well as anyone else, are entitled to your opinion.
The Epstein Operation is not limited to “pimping out underage American girls to important people for blackmail purposes”, VERY far from it.
As a matter of fact, exposing the whole and I mean the entire kit and caboodle to the general public, would have absolutely devastating results worldwide, especially here.
Marje is a turncoat.
She’s going around repeating shallow mainstream narratives, either out of pure ignorance (I doubt it) or out of pure scornful spite.
Ol Marje either got sucked into the muck and mire or she is a product of it.
(The terms “muck” and “mire” refer to wet, swampy ground or boggy areas characterized by mud and filth, often used metaphorically in biblical literature to describe a state of degradation, sin, or entrapment.)
There’s no reason for me to address every other point you made for I have not the inclination nor the time to write an epistle.
Everything on the surface is not as it seems, MikeJ, it’s really not.
0.o
I agree, President Trump isn’t infallible, but he’s the best we have right now.
What I can’t believe is that MikeJ got 20 upvotes. Maybe this article should have been password protected.
You obviously have not remained current on her negatives.
Just jump in there with another voice that contributes to the superficial b.s. chorus from the internet.
This is a ridiculous delusion that DJT is a monarch with unlimited power. Politics is give and take — even for a maverick president such as ours. It is reality– not a fairytale.
America First is important, but if the economy collapses, especially worldwide, then America First won’t really work too well.
Trying to maintain an unstable peace in the world to keep the UniParty from sending our boys overseas to fight a foreign war also seems prudent to me.
FJB and his ‘autopen’ handlers really effed up this country and economy. It’s truly amazing the reversal in ten months to be honest.
Many brilliant people have reminded us all how the United States has lost it’s moral footing. We see it every day and practically at every traffic light.
Tell us all MikeJ, who should be in the positions that you mentioned, Susy wiles [sic], Pam Blondi [sic], et al? Really true constitutional patriots are very scarce.
That’s why I pray for this country every day.
In a binary choice between islamo-marxist barbarity and whatever we have now?
I’ll choose what we have now.
Which promise hasn’t he kept? He has kept America First in dealing with the world. You are looking for an Isolationist and he is not. America holding the world reserve currency is key to our success. If for no other reason we need the world to prop up the dollar.
You blame Trump while completely overlooking the Courts that block his every move. Last I knew the courts also blocked the Epstein grand jury file release that Trump’s DOJ wants public.
Which coalition did he squander? The congress that can’t even pass a continuing resolution? Oh that one. Beware of those who claim to support him while second guessing his every move.
You are wrong.
Yeah, wasn’t Adam Kinzinger once a darling of the Tea Party?
In 2022 MTG had an affair, and her husband subsequently divorced her. It is likely that, just like many before her, the Deep State initiated and then used that compromising act (or acts) to control her. Maybe the resignation is part of the control operations? We all know how far the Deep State will go to protect itself.

That’s very highly likely, more probable than not.
Those Kompromat Operations for anyone who’s never studied them are vulgar and evil.
Back in the old days a target was “slipped a micky”, put into a compromising position, and photographed or filmed.
With the more modern drugs and all the new technology these days, it’s way worse.
Not to mention the very real threats to the target’s friends and family.
Something is seriously wrong with what is going on with her.
If she were devoted to her district and our country she wouldn’t out-of-the-blue resign.
She would finish out her term come hell or high water whether or not she had a chance at some other elected office in the future.
With regard to all this ridiculous theatre with her screaming about muh, shiny Epstein, going on a public fault finding mission against President Trump and the entire country, hitting every mockingbird media platform with a bullhorn, and now publicly gaslighting everyone in typical uni-party fashion, it’s as if she’s not even the same person she led us to believe she was.
And whatever was going on up in here last night with that account defending her, literally trolling anyone who didn’t agree with what she’s doing to the extent that veiled threats of lawsuits were thrown around and repeated posts justifying all her bizarre behavior – it was unbelievable and I’ve never seen anything like it ever on this website.
Time will tell us.
What we need to do going forward is to stop playing into these mainstream/deep state narratives and try to actualize these ill intended events for what they are and to whom they are intended to harm.

She had one affair that we are aware of. The question would be how many others are being held over her head?
This comment, with its faux “just the facts” delivery supported by zero evidence, not even a link to a gossip site, and no push back from anyone else here, is why I don’t spend a lot of time at the Treehouse. Despicable.

Your faux “just the facts” delivery pronouncing RR’s post lacking in facts leaves much to to be desired, Ja.
Do you have any facts, Ja?
During the past few days there has in fact been some pushback regarding Everything Marjorie, mostly in the form of drive-by’s like yours seemingly void of any ‘facts’ whatsoever.
Since Marje and her handlers as well as members of her dwindling fanbase undoubtedly read here AND participate to some degree, there has been more than ample opportunity for any of them to contribute the ‘facts’, wouldn’t you agree, Ja?
So, thank you for stopping by, Ja.
Honk, honk back at ya.

Yet another absolute clown “contributor” to the Treehouse. I’ve been around here forever, fuzzy wuzzy. MUCH, much longer than you/your latest incarnation. I’m utterly unimpressed with your commentary.
She is leaving just after she is vested in a taxpayer paid pension and golden insurance package. This was a planned exit.
Yeppers.
You make it seem that this is some sinister thing (to time a voluntary resignation around a pension vesting milestone).
It certainly isn’t exactly ethical. Why not resign today? But heck, a representative’s term is two years, if she were ethical, why wouldn’t she just finish out her term?
It really won’t matter because at some point the fiat currency will collapse like a house of cards.
But look at Weimar Germany and Argentina, collapse of a currency isn’t the end of the world. It just means doctors will have to be cab or Uber drivers to make ends meet.
But my point is that her pension will be worth dog$hit.
With how many millions acquired in the last 5 years?
Allegedly $25m.
$14,790 / year at age 62. Doesn’t sound all that “golden” to me.
That never stops the demagogues here from implying or asserting her federal pension is some big bonanza.
They don’t know the facts but they insinuate.
$8,717 and $14,790, depending on the calculation method used.
One analysis calculates her annual pension at $8,717, which would begin when she reaches age 62. By the time she turns 62, what would it be worth? I wouldn’t call this a golden insurance package.
really?
This is such a halfwit take it’s amazing. She’s worth $25 million. You think she cares about a $14,000 a year pension?
Well, you got your points keep singing that that’s the reason. And that the president called her a traitor after she was one of the only Congress people sticking up for J6 defendants. Disgusting.🤮
But where did she get the $25 million? On a $175,000 plus or minus yearly salary?
Remember this…
Republicans and Democrats worked together to eliminate the Tea Party, and Republicans were more than willing to lose elections to stop Tea Party supported candidates from winning. This is important to remember, because that type of activity both evidences the UniParty apparatus and the opposition to the modern iteration of the Tea Party in the larger MAGA voting base. In short, the DC professional political apparatus hates all versions of the same uncontrollable electorate regardless of label.
Well we finally find out why MTG is resigning on Jan 5, 2026. Her congressional pension gets vested on Jan3,2026. WHY DOES ANYONE IN CONGRESS GET A PENSION?? If she truly wanted to “REPRESENT” her constituency, she would have stayed in office until the end of her term! Always follow the $$$.
These days, Congress critters are in FERS same as all feds. A FERS pension for 5 years at $174,000 high three is $14,790 / year and doesn’t start until age 62. So sure, fire away but I don’t think the pension is the thing to get worked up about.
Correct. You had to crunch the numbers for the low info commenter, here. Thanks.
Greene’s annual congressional pension is estimated to be between $8,717 and $14,790, depending on the calculation method used.

People who do work for the federal government get paychecks and pensions.
You are not smart enough to know what her pension is.
Prove me wrong.
She’s worth $25 million. From businesses that she had before she got elected. Yet you regurgitate this talking point like it means anything.

Cool story, Bro.

A little over a thousand per month, for someone that’s already very wealthy…
2 days after her 5 year minimum required to be vested for her pension, and a full year before she needs to quit, when the R party’s majority is wafer thin. If this is not betrayal, I don’t know what is.
If you really want to know her true belief, watch all the future deals she gets. If you thought 22M of insider trading was unethical (but not illegal!), wait until you see the book deals, speaking engagements, Media gigs (CNN, ABC she has already auditioned) and universal affection like what W, Cheney, Romney, and other backstabbing RINOs get from the media.
The final giveaway? The issues she are raising are exactly the wedge issues being used by the DeSantis crew. Refer to Sundance’s excellent exposition re: Sea Island coalition.
A complete fake and a sellout.
Speaking of Bush and Romney:
Two books by Webster Griffin Tarpley
The Unauthorized Biography of George [HW] Bush
and
JUST TOO WEIRD, Bishop Romney and the Mormon Takeover of America: Polygamy, Theocracy, and Subversion
The former, written in 1991, is a deep dive into GHWB and the Bush Empire and includes details on wars, the IC, and smuggling.
The latter, written in 2012, gets into everything named in the title and would probably help readers understand how the IC and LE in general became so corrupt.

How much of this magical $22M was inheritance and how much was stock trades?
Please show your sources and calculations.
My message to Georgia’s 14th district and America.
Thank you for my cush pension.
MTG aka Me Me Me
Tell us how much her pension will be and when she will get it.
I said this before – she is too out there for me, and I would never vote for her, but I am excited to see what is next for her
I see her running for President one day. It will be interesting to see how she positions herself. She probably isn’t MAGA enough, she’s too extreme to appeal to traditional conservatives. I don’t know how the chips will fall with her, but it will be interesting.
Her running for President?
What for?
To rake in campaign contributions for pocket change?
Good gravy, can you imagine the disrespect this country would fall into with someone like her in charge?
It would be worse than Uncle Sniffy/Resident PotatoHead ever was.
Besides, she not smart enough, possesses zero critical thinking skills, and is too narcissistic.
0.o
Narcissist.
I think she used the U word, Uniparty.
That is true and a fact.
This website has explained it is a way most people can understand.
U is a convaluted, compromising, back scratching bunch of congressional bottom feeders that are scum certified.🦨
I keep coming back to her behavior when Matt Gates was trying to get rid of RINO McCarthy as speaker. She tried SO hard to keep McCarthy. It was kinda nauseating, actually.
I wondered at the time what team she was fighting for and why.
I wonder now what team has promised her greener grass.
I suspect it’s the alligator emoji team.
Weaken the MAGA base and be rewarded later.
Time will tell.
When all that went down, my take is that Kev schmoozed her for her vote, played her.
And Marje, being so used to basically being rejected in Washington, was happy for the attention and a chance to fit in for a change.
Once it was over he kicked her to the curb.
She’s in the swamp now, no doubt, rubbing scales with the rest of them.

Marjorie Taylor Greene is resigning from Congress effective January 5, 2026, which allows her to qualify for a lifetime federal pension after serving five years. Her pension will be modest, amounting to approximately $1,232 per month, as she will only meet the minimum vesting requirement.
For 5 years of service, pension doesn’t start until 62. Also Social Security eligible, assuming she has another 20 quarters of covered work besides the 5 years in congress.
Thank you for pointing this out.
She was a multi millionaire before she entered congress.
The pension argument is weak.
A poster on FB noted that January 5th is two days after her 5 year qualification for a lifetime congressional pension. I mean, why stand on principle when you can be guaranteed the most golden of golden parachutes for a politician?
Tell us how much her pension will be and when she will get it
You’ll get this from “a poster on FB” apparently. Some ” golden of golden parachutes”.
From FB? … “the most golden of golden parachutes”? Pray tell
Listen to the French general and realize that if the Bushies have their way, our kids will go to war. Why? It’s what neo-cons always do.
https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2025/11/21/be-prepared-to-accept-losing-children-to-war-says-french-general/
Hmmm…
I’m not sure if the rumors are true about her, but given the presser by the truly patriotic yet somehow pathetic 4 solitary members of congress seeking to eradicate insider trading from amongst their ilk, is it more or less likely that Green got out of town with her moneybags in tact -no questions asked?
What, exactly, has she accomplished in congress – other than go from being worth around 700,000 to 23-25 million in 5 years., She has been for immigration control before she became for immigration control, etc. She has been on both sides of most issues – Steven Crowder actually released a video over the weekend of her flip-flops. I also believe her releasing private text messages between her and Trump was now a smart move… She reportedly wanted to run for Senate, he told her the polls showed she would lose by double digits, he would not support such a run. I have a feeling Steve Bannon built her up, and she thought she was more popular than she actually has been in Congress.
Message seems on point, I m personally not happy with the Trump administration for many a reason. Bottom line, not explicitly stated, she’s walking away before they snuff her or a family member. We’ve seen it time and again, everyone gets inline or friends/family start dropping.
