To Treepers I disagree with, this reminds me of a position I found myself in during COVID. I refused the jab, took the exemption, and hoped I wasn’t going to get canned (healthcare). From the moment I sent in the exemption I was an outcast. Many took it mindlessly and some took it under pressure. A lot of those that took it were no way going to vaccinate their kids.
It came time for the semi-annual dept meeting and the VP of our dept called me to tell me I couldn’t attend due to company policy. She had worked herself up for the call because she was afraid of a confrontation and she started to raise her voice and get angry. I had to restrain myself, even though I thought all the evidence was on my side and the policy was dumb. I firmly cut her off by her first name, and told her none of this was personal between us. It’s company policy. I could hear the tension drain out of her.
She didn’t make the policy, but she was ready to personalize the conflict that made for me. Also, several people got COVID on the trip despite the jab (shocked , shocked I tell you!). Be wary of personalizing disagreements with people you otherwise agree with most of the time. Please, passionately argue a point, but attacking the person on the opposite side just digs a hole and sticks a burnt bridge in it. Also, don’t forget that you just might be wrong this time. Make allowances for your own humility.

On the 21st of June, a day that will live in infamy, President Trump led the American People to War with Iran. Trump’s message to Americans? Striking Iran’s three nuclear facilities is all that U.S. Forces do. Unless, of course, the Iranians have the temerity to strike back. In that case Trump promises to destroy Iran. Ridiculous.
Washington has launched its own Pearl Harbor operation. U.S. Air and Naval Power executed rehearsed strikes against a few “critical” Iranian targets. Then, American Forces pulled back, ostensibly waiting for Tehran to capitulate much like the Japanese in December 1941. Trump’s mindset echoes Israel’s thinking when it attacked Iran last week, but Iran did not collapse after Israel’s surprise attack.
And Tehran won’t capitulate to Washington’s opening moves. Initial assessments of the strikes’ effectiveness suggest nothing of consequence was destroyed. The facilities? Devoid of people. Empty of centrifuges and enriched uranium. But the lack of damage? That’s not yet relevant. It’s a question no one in Washington cares to answer.
The world now waits for Iran’s response. Tehran’s leaders aren’t reckless or impetuous. Their counter-strike will be deliberate and likely decisive. And make no mistake, Iran will strike back. It will do so in ways Washington doesn’t expect.
Why? Tehran controls the political and moral high ground. Israel violated international law. A program of mass murder in Gaza. Backing the murderous ISIS-led regime in Syria. Killing Christians. Killing other minorities. Israel’s unprovoked attack on Iran. These are incontrovertible facts.
Escalation is inevitable, but Iran, not Washington, will control it. Remember the Houthis from Yemen and their war with Saudi Arabia? They struck Saudi oil fields. Repeatedly. They are also within striking range of Iranian missiles. Millions depend on them for water.
Iran’s parliament just voted to close the Strait of Hormuz. Markets won’t react until Monday morning. But they will panic. Inevitably, oil prices will soar. The financial consequences for Americans? Eventually, devastating. Everyday, one out of every five barrels of oil flows through the Straits of Hormuz.
Washington spent six months bombing the Houthis. Then, Washington threw in the towel. Walking away from war with Iran won’t be so easy.
Russian Prime Minister Medvedev warned that many countries are now willing to transfer nuclear technology to Iran. Simple rule. Countries with nuclear weapons don’t get bombed. Look at North Korea. Countries without them? They get bombed. Iraq. Libya and, now, Iran prove it. This is the universal lesson for the world beyond America’s borders.
Iran’s parliament voted to close the Straits of Hormuz, but Tehran doesn’t need to formally close the Strait of Hormuz. Shipping companies will do it. If the risk of losing tankers is too great, the insurance companies will insist. The world’s oil supply slow and the impact on industries that depend on petroleum products will be disastrous.
This is the real “battle damage assessment.” The consequences will be felt for decades. Trump just invited war to America. Now, Americans must prepare for it. Tens of millions of foreigners crossed our borders illegally between 2020 and 2025. Washington is foolish to ignore the high probability that Islamist terror sleeper cells are here. No doubt, the Drug Cartels will be happy to cooperate with them against American Law Enforcement.

Theirs is an inflexible, iron rule. “Morality” is whatever they say it is. And I’m cutting the Israelis no slack. My views on secular Judaism are well documented here. But to declare the US and the Trump administration are acting in less than good faith with respect to geopolitical affairs is absurd. Let’s see if I have this straight…
A war rages for almost a week with the intent to eliminate Iran’s nuclear program, on day 8 our Air Force plants with great precision over half our inventory of MOPs into the mountain under which Iran’s main uranium enrichment facility is, the Navy sends several ships worth of cruise missiles at 2 other nuclear enrichment and storage facilities, and yet – not a single rad of radiation has been detected because, of course, Iran just sat around and left everything where it was…
Oh wait – that last bit isn’t supported by the evidence.
Far more likely is that while the US strike may have wiped out the 3 facilities, the probability is that most, if not all, of Iran’s enriched uranium is intact either way.
Additionally the radical Islamists in charge are still there and their conventional and terrorism-based means of attack are intact. There’s a distinct possibility that the Straight of Hormuz will be closed sending oil prices skyward and our many bases in the region are at risk.
About that last one – there will be those that argue that they wouldn’t dare attack our bases, they aren’t that crazy. The same people also said Iran was crazy enough to launch nuclear weapons. If they are crazy enough to launch nukes, using conventional means to attack bases is nothing. The only thing that may prevent things spiraling is if Russia can convince Iran to throttle it back.
One last thing – Israel no longer has an excuse.

I scanned the link. Not completely refuting the claim, but there is no evidence presented, zero.
The only corroboration given is “sources told NBC News.”
If Iran made such claims, why not just post/print it in the article?

Reagan tried to stop it, and they shot him too.
It was the beginning of decades of misery. Each President after Reagan was progressively worse.

Since WWII America has been the police force of the world. Over my 73 years we have seen both sides of being a policing force, the good and the bad. We have had to police areas with our military using ridiculous rules of engagement to try and obtain appeasement internally and externally. This at a great loss of our young men and women in our military in order to appease the leftists in our government, citizenry, and other countries that are involved at arms length. Once again the actions of rogue states puts America in a catch-22 circumstance with Iran’s hatred of Israel and anything not aligned with their prophet. Iran will and did continue to try and have the true mother of all bombs and Iran will or would have use it against Israel and only G od knows who else. Were we, the USofA and the president, to stand back with depraved indifference to allow Iran to murder hundreds of thousands Jews, Arabs, and other inhabitants of the Middle East? This is what the leftists in our government would have President Trump do in order to damn him and his supporters in future elections. Or should we, the USofA and the president, be proactive and remove the threat of annihilation posed by Iran? The choice is and was obvious. Do as President Trump has done and remove the threat. The sensible governments and people of the Middle East are thanking the USofA and President Trump whilst our left damns him and us. Shameful reactions of those on the political left.
