10 years of Catholic schooling, two years of inner city public schooling and 4 years of inner city college gave me a great education.
Not only an education but “street smarts” and a great base of common sense.
I can also attest to having some really wonderful teachers and a few great coaches too.
I can’t speak personally for those who have gone through that system recently, but my time in the 60’s and 70’s was still pretty good.
I would argue that it was other factors, rather than the city responsible for your upbringing. Back in the 60’s and 70’s Catholic Schools still taught classical Christian education. I was a beneficiary of that as well. Classical education is making a comeback but the decades of progressive education have taken their toll.

Mullin’s comments on drunk Senators voting at night was on point, his delivery was spectacular and Sheehy was a close second. Kane’s and Hirono’s lines of questioning were alternatively repulsive/disgusting/embarrassing and Gillebrand’s ‘why can’t moms be lethal?’ meltdown only served to prove Hegseth’s reservations about women in combat.
