The interview below is a little complicated at first on the issues of economics. If you are not an economic wonk, or deep research into the theories and realities of how finance and human activity can transact in the world of economics, it might be a little complicated. However, if you are a person who enjoys a deep discussion on the intricacies of the battle between economic freedom -vs- socialism, then this is for you.
Lex Fridman does an excellent job of asking a short ‘big picture’ question, then listening to a lengthy response and answer. The interview is very substantive and as the interview progresses beyond the economic issues, Argentina President Javier Milei pulls back to give perspective on the real battle within the financial ‘west’.
The first hour is wonky, complex and full of answers about what a very intelligent President Milei did to correct the course in Argentina. The second hour pulls back to the broader landscape of freedom. Find some quiet time to enjoy and absorb. WATCH:

I haven’t even watched this interview yet but just need to say, Yes he has turned his country around but you want to know how? By opening up
His prisons and Mental institutions deporting all of the freaking criminals to our country. Crime is down substantially over there, But not here.
Are you referring to Venezuela? Because that is true of that Marxist country.
Milei is president of Chile.
Any link you can provide to back up your assertion would be appreciated.
Apologies… Argentina.
Hey Betsy with all the nazis that fled there you’d think they wouldn’t have any problem with criminals 🤔
It’s a mystery….right, Mr jay?? 😎
The Mossad didn’t.

Don’t ask me where that came from.
Baby it’s cold outside!
Brrrrrrrrr 😬
Quite Chile, n’est-ce pas?
It’s ALL of South America that are opening up jails and MH institutions. Chile, El Salvadore, Argentina, Guatemala etc ALL of them are F**king us without a kiss or pulling our hair…
False drama is not a good look.
Not all of them by a long shot.
But yes, El Salvador, Venezuela are the worst. Chile, Brazil and Guatemala have had lesser but some issues.
El Salvador and Guatemala are in Central America, not South America.
I’m a fan of President Bukele and how he has cleaned up his country 😍
Mass arrests and mass incarcerations.
No mercy for the cartels and gangs which made life impossible for its citizens.
To repeat…
“Mercy for the guilty is cruelty to the innocent.’
Isn’t it not limited to the Americas, aren’t EVERY Country that can, taking advantage of this opportunity to free themselves of the expence of housing etc. both prisoners and crazies?
Why wouldn’t they?
Agree!
Ultimate pay back …Mickey Finger…both hands.
Running prisons are Expensive! Very expensive!!
Seems like every time US put sanctions, meddled in
Venezuela and other countries business….another
prison or mental institution cleaned out and closed.
We the people, are suffering from the repercussions…
big time. But, I have to admit those countries that
did it….pretty sneaky and cost effective for them 🥴😵💫😵💫
. 🤷♀️ 💁 It’s their version of -Paybacks are a B#$$!
I can see the political moves….

It would be impossible to get here without America intentionally leaving the door open and rewarding them.
How can they afford the trip?
It’s an enigma.
No it’s HIAS!

China is ending spies, sabotuers, & sleeper cells. The Chinese collusion was and is very real. The actual receipts are everywhere.
Nitpicking on which America (south/central) is foolish. J/S.
In your opinion. But geography IS important, and our learning it accurately and factually is needful. There are huge differences between regions and countries; politically, geographically, and historically.
As told to do by Joe and his band of merry banditos!
Mucho dinero makes for strange bedfellows.
Yeah it is the South American countries fault all these people are coming here and crossing open borders and picking up all these great benefits.
Yeah Argentinian gangs are running rampant all over our country! The thing is the Argentinian criminal tend to be ex-politicians.
Their soccer team members are obvious thugs, especially that Messi guy.
And they keep trying to smuggle in beef!
We need to shut our border with Argentina down.
Only in the sanctuary city’s from what I’ve read, hillbillies and rednecks take care of those problems themselves
Well—I expect there was a reason why Milei won his seat.

Wrong country.
“I once thought liberty was divisible, that you could have very great personal liberty within a framework of substantial state control of the economy, but I don’t mind saying I was quite wrong. The thing that finally convinced me was the issue of compulsory unionism. Labour today is so deeply anti-creative, so organically and instinctually lacking in any positive impulses, that it actually likes banning things or people, for its own sake. It’s motto is: accentuate the negative. To ban, to boycott, to embargo, to exclude, blacklist, close down, shut up, silence, censure – these are the things which now come naturally to it, perhaps the only things it really knows how to do.”
“Throughout history, the attachment of even the humblest people to their freedom, above all their freedom to earn their livings how and where they please, has come as an unpleasant shock to condescending ideologues. We need not suppose that the exercise of freedom is bought at the expense of any deserving class or interest — only of those with the itch to tyrannize.”
Rest in the Vine: Paul Johnson, History Man
However, the privatization of utilities, such as water and power has been extremely detrimental to the people. And I mean EXTREMELY detrimental.
The water companies are owned by foreign investors who put nothing into maintaining or upgrading the systems and routinely expel sewage into the waterways. Many are sickened by the polluted water – both drinking water and swimming in rivers and sea.
The power companies charge exorbitant rates, routinely enter peoples homes WITHOUT permission to install meters – you have to pay to have the power in increments… and if you don’t have the money, no power. Once the meter is installed it takes an act of God to get it removed… even when you sell the property or new tenants move in – they have a hard time getting a new contract with a different supplier because there is a meter.
British Steel is no longer… it was taken over by a foreign entity (TATA) and it is in a bad state of being.
So, some good but also a lot of bad came with privatization.
Until the end of your text….I thought you were referring to California. My bad….wink…

Trump, Orban, Wilders, Milei, Bukele….
…..things are looking pretty good globally.
Feeling optimistic 👍
In lieu of finding time to listen to the entire talk/segment, are there any credible links or sources to what Milei has actually accomplished since his installment?

Thanks. Will see those links first and get a feel for how the globalist media portrays him.
If the globalist media is calling Milei Hitler then that is a good sign.

I listened to it last night. I was expecting to be board but found myself enjoying it. Some good points to absorb and he seems like a very happy warrior for his country. Apparently Viveck and Musk got some ideas from him…
Vivek, the election fraud denier?
Appropriate picture – Milei and zelenskyy. …
Yes. Support for the “money laundering” operation known as “Ukraine” will remain an albatross for many “elected leaders” (hopefully) far into the future, and perhaps one of the few history lessons which will not be forgotten by those who in the future are “asked” to be become the “blood and guts” of such “false flags”.
Whenever one thinks they need comply because they have too much to lose … They should pause, reflect and reconsider. … This is a lesson, I fear, too many Americans yet need to have beaten into them.
It’s not all rainbow and roses.🥀
Not a fan…and not a critic…
just…watching with squinting eyes.
Trying to figure out if propagation narrative.
When any countries leader is promoted by media
the way Milei has been …I start to question —
U.S. puppet? Globalists puppet?
The only exception is Orban and Fico. Orban has proven
track record.❤️
Even though his country appears to be doing
better right now….. instead of it’s economy
being in the sewer…it has now reached the sidewalk
gutter. A Long Way to go yet.
And yet, Milei is spending money traveling around
the world….staying and partying it up at Mar-a-Lago
which isn’t cheap. 😵💫🥴🥴
I am going to remain skeptical. 🤷♀️ 💁

Everywhere. Biden was installed, Milie wasn’t 👋
Geez, looking at that picture, you’d think they were celebrating an upcoming freedom from some sort of nontraditional occupation or something.
Listened to this on X yesterday and he is a remarkable man,
What an interesting, well read, and engaging man. He has manu interests. I will be keeping an eye on him. Thank you for posting this interview.
Listen closely what he has to say about Republicans. As he calls those that sit on the side lines. In his football analogy, if you think about it in detail. You can be active in practice, you might even be active in advertising for the football team, you may be active staying in shape, working hard at your ball control skills and even listening intently to the coach. But in the game if you are a bystander then you get gobbled up by those that are active. You’re at the leisure of the winners. This is the GOP they’re active behind the scenes in certain areas. But they’ve long been a bystander to the game of Freedom and Liberty. They’ll lose and along with it. They’ll lose liberty for their supporters and eventually themselves. The left will gobble them up.
Great comment. This is something I think often about.
The government is run by those that show up, and we don’t.
We may be doing other things, but this is not the same as showing up where the game is going on and rolling our sleeves up.
We’re the support staff for the Event. But when the event is happening, we’re off doing something else thinking we’re doing our part.
I don’t think this is necessarily our fault per se, it’s how we’ve been trained to play by them.
They have been in control for decades now of millions of people from cradle to grave, so why wouldn’t we be playing this game as they’ve taught us to play? No wonder they win.
The reason I’ve thought about this a lot is because I’ve seen how this all works..
Locally, I live in a blue county. I have walked into local coffee shops and restaurants many times throughout my life and seen a table full of Democrat women having meetings about things they are doing related to politics.
I’ve seen them quite a few times filling out postcards and mailers.
They are seemingly all friends, they are laughing and having fun as they plot to win the next election to take over our towns.
This is how these people practice their love, their loyalty, their religion of Government.
It’s baked right into their lifestyles…
We do not roll this way at all.. we have an entirely different outlook on it all. Life is for living, not gaining power for growing government.
But the problem we face is that this is how they are playing.. and yet we are not because we don’t think this way, because we don’t practice that religion, we have lost a lot.
What shocked me was that Milei seems to understand what he is doing. A politician that understands finance and economics? Inconceivable!
“A politician that understands finance and economics? Inconceivable!”
Is he, first, a politician who understands finance and economics? Or, is he an Argentinian patriot possessing a keen understanding and realization that his nation needs major finance and economic reforms to avert his nation destroying itself, and was willing to enter the world of politics as the vehicle to affect those much needed changes? Hmmmmm……..kinda sounds like someone else I know…..
In the very beginning he describes how he went out and sought an article by Austrian School Economist Murray Newton Rothbard – that impressed him enough to conclude that everything he thought he knew about economics was wrong. So he went out and binged on books about economic theories, especially authors from the Austrian School…
He had a hunger and didn’t wait for someone else to give him easy answers. That is what separates him from 99% other politicians.
I’d vote for the guy just for his bad ass 70’s style sideburns alone. MSGA!
I voted for a bad-ass politician and then Neil Diamond showed up.
What’s up with that ????
Thank you Sundance. I’ll make it my watch for this evening.
I find it unusual that Millei cites Ireland as being a bastion of economic progress. I suspect that this ‘improvement’ came from the reduction of the difficult life of small family farms. In its place, however, are multinational corporations, rampant consumer debt, the ultimate socialized ‘nanny government’, political corruption and invasive regulation from the EU.

Speaking of interviews…
Did any of you catch any of the Tucker interview with Greenwald? They discuss at length the IC spying on politicians for blackmail purposes. It’s right up the treehouse’s alley.
Remember when Tucker interviewed Millei and the media indicated he was a nut job that would fail miserably??
Thanks SD. The entire interview…Well worth the time to listen. I learned a lot.

I’m going to watch it tonight.
I’m a huge fan of this man..and an economics nerd.
AND I have to say, I really enjoy listening to the speeches and interviews of other world leaders.
I’ve heard some amazing Orban and Putin speeches..
I highly recommend searching them out and tuning in, you won’t regret it.
The Left has dumbed down politics in this nation to such a ridiculous degree.
It’s such a pleasure to listen to truly intelligent world leaders that are not putting on a staged, crafted, rehearsed made for TV event like we now have here.

TY, SD!
This interview was really just a gem.
I have seen some of Lex’s interviews but this is the best so far. Milei is an extraordinary thinker. I love that he Calls PDT a VIKING!
Lex is a natural interviewer. He sets up twenty questions? And retrieves the most astonishing 2-hour insight to one extraordinary man.
When a man like Milei can admit to a 180 degree turn around of his wold view beliefs in the first 5 minutes, expound on every John Locke, Hayek and 20 other free capitalism influences, I am fierce about these two hours.
Do not miss the first hour. It sets you up to who Milei really is.
Having spent a month in Argentina in 1992, the Austral was still the currency. The banks closed early on Friday, because they did not want to lose value on Monday!
Argentina is a beautiful place, so ravaged by invasion and corruption since its inception. It has everything from beautiful cities, to farmland, cattle ranches, and beautiful people!
May they prosper!
I seem to be seeing a parallel to the G7/G20 with maybe a P (Peoples’ 7/20) on the horizon!!!!

Incredible interview. President Milei is quite brilliant. Watched up until there were 31 minutes left…when he said he wanted Argemtina to join NATO. 🤦🏻♀️ Hate to break it to him, but that is The antithesis of the freedom he so loves.
Indeed, my only regret, unless he is sending a message to a certain person in the US.
Before this interview I did not know what an anarcho -capitalist is, or that there was such a thing as an Austrian School of economics. Very smart man, but courage is his most prominent trait.
I’m still working my way through this. This is an outstanding interview. I love it that the guy said “How can we do this differently to restore prosperity to the country?”, and then went about studying history and economics. Book after book he read and studied to understand economics from various perspectives, etc. He took an intellectual deep dive. Most of our professional politicians listen to a bunch of interns and aids and lobbyists, are easily manipulated, and enjoy the financial rewards without doing anything substantive to effect our national prosperity!
He did the kind of thing I do, as just a regular American. When I don’t understand something I start studying the problem until I can get a clear picture of options to address problems. I don’t just sit there and allow myself to be tossed to and fro.
Where’s their Gold?
Maybe it was placed in a safe place, far away from the greedy paws of the socialistas, commies, peronistas and kircheristas.
I’m gonna try to listen to this today. For the most part, I think Lex does good interviews: good questions and no Hannity interruptions.
I would like to see Lex interview Putin in Russian doing his own translation for us.
Good interviews of his to watch are Balaji Srinivasan (7.5 hours!! and worth every minute of time) and Michael Saylor (also listen to Saylor on The Iced Coffee Hour a few months ago – I believe June – and the PBD Podcast last week). These 3 interviews with Saylor will give a good foundation in understanding Bitcoin. I think that will be a strategy of the Trump admin: purchase Bitcoin. The most recent PBD interview discusses why this would benefit the US (it’ll keep money investing in the US).
