As anticipated, Tropical Storm Milton is now Hurricane Milton with top winds of 80 mph. In the past 24 hrs., Milton slowed down a bit, wobbled a little south, and gained strength about a half-day earlier than predicted. The probability cone shifted a little south and the center consensus is now just south of Tampa in the Sarasota area.
As mentioned last night, this storm is going to be unique in contrast of condition between the areas immediately North and South of the storm. There are far too many variables for any accurate assessment at the moment; however, all interests should pay close attention. As a result of the slowing, the prudent evacuation timeline has moved from Tuesday morning to Tuesday afternoon.
(NHC) – At 100 PM CDT (1800 UTC), the center of Hurricane Milton was located by an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft near latitude 22.5 North, longitude 94.0 West. Milton is moving toward the east near 6 mph (9 km/h), and this general motion is expected today. An eastward to east-northeastward motion is forecast on Monday, followed by a faster northeastward motion on Tuesday and Wednesday.
On the forecast track, Milton is forecast to move north of the Yucatan Peninsula and to move across the Gulf of Mexico and approach the west coast of the Florida Peninsula by midweek.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 80 mph (130 km/h) with higher gusts. Milton is forecast to rapidly intensify during the next couple of days and become a major hurricane on Monday. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 20 miles (30 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles (130 km) from the center. (link)

Did the US government blow up dams in North Carolina?
Didn’t need to. Only one failed to hold, as far as I know, though many were tested at the max.
HAARP
Natural causes?
I wonder.
Monday….October 7th….
be careful and stay safe….
Woo….woo….
Still PILES of appliances, furniture and debris on St. Pete Beach and the barrier islands. Whoever is in charge of removal needs a sternly-worded letter.
I saw pallets of MRE-type meals and cases of water stacked down by Hurley Park for 2 days. No one handing the stuff out, no signs. It will all be in the Gulf in a few days. Our tax dollars at work.
Just talked to my sister in Bradenton. They are moving up to Savanna for 2-4 days.
Smart move…I have a feeling Bradenton will be the Bullseye, give or take 10 miles.
I saw a video by a man who owns a company that has dumpsters and he said that the gov is stopping the businesses from picking up the debris and taking it to the dump and said the people have to do it and they can pile it up in front of their homes and it will be picked up by FEMA (or somebody) sometime this next year. I can’t remember where I found it.
We were told the same with Idalia. City nor county made a move. FEMA used contractors and we finally got it removed in time for Debby then here we are with even more tree debris from Helene.
We now have 15ft tall debris bunkers lining roads from Debby and Helene. I live outside a small town.
They are in no hurry.
found the video…….I think.

video about the trash pickup.
And the water bottles can sit on tarmac in Florida sunshine in the middle of “Hotober” to release all those poisonous pseudo estrogens and phalates to form a hellbroth with the PFAS laden ultra processed “purified water”..
Only as a last resort so much better to stay away from bottles of water, not to mention the trash…Refill now with drinking water…jugs, containers, cartons, anything that will hold water.
you can also make ice blocks with plastic Tupperware or ziploc bags …when it thaws you drink it.
Its going to hit at a 4 or 5. Tampa will be devastated!
This guy is good at hype and fear mongering. He should remain calm, state the facts and stop the drama…geez.
DeSantis is performing like a real governor , not like Cooper of NC!!
Night and day for sure. Cooper needs a wake up call like yesterday. Lt. Gov Mark Robinson is stepping up where he can. Hopefully NC chooses him for their next governor.
After the deluge, the lies: Misinformation and hoaxes about Helene cloud the recovery

I can’t say I recall a hurricane ever coming from the west to east like this ,is that very rare ?
1 AM CDT (2AM EDT)
Was checking out who I could contact to possibly donate propane or propane tanks in connection with Helene. Had no idea U-Haul fills propane tanks. When I got on their web site I found this, which may (or may not) be of interest to Floridians:
In Helene’s path? You may be eligible for free U-Haul storage (floridatoday.com)
Apology if previously posted by someone else.
Tampa here. Local meteorologist Denis Phillips update 1hr ago…
“NEW | Hurricane hunter aircraft find Milton stronger. Winds are now at 120 mph. Milton is a dangerous Cat 3 hurricane. A slow motion just south of east continues. No track changes with this update.”
Another CORRUPT democratic strategy to try to wipe out Republican votes.

It is downpouring here in Daytona. The ground is already soaked from past few days of rain. I read a comment on FB this morning from someone that lived here during Ian a couple of years ago. They mentioned the sheriff was riding a boat up Nova Road (a main north/south road that is about a mile inland from where I live). There is a sand ridge that runs north/south in Daytona along the other main road Ridgewood/US1. I thought about parking there (a couple of blocks from where I am), but I think that too will get flooded. I’ll probably drive inland tomorrow somewhere, maybe Deland/Deltona. The predicted storm surge on Thursday looks bad and everything is flat here (discussed at the end of the above video).
I know Sundance’s situation will be much worse.

notes on prior storm:
>Charley (2004) produced five tornadoes in Central Florida…The strongest tornado was an F1 in South Daytona Beach that caused a quarter of a mile long track of damage.
>The remnants of that season can be seen up and down the A1A in Daytona Beach. 20 years later and there are still big gaps on the ocean side where motels once stood. I’m not complaining. I love all that open space. But it’s amazing it’s still so open.
Best Hurricane Helene vid.
That quartz silica she mentions is super quality and supposedly, in the entire world, only found there, even though it’s a requirement for Smart Devices everywhere on the planet.
She’s the backwoods country smart they don’t talk about because she’s not some college professor or doctor, but she’s smart enough to mention the impact a quartz silica production stoppage must be having for the owners of the 6 mines up there.
NOBODY ELSE is talking about this.
Where are the owners of the quartz silica mines in Mitchell County NC?
Ins companies send in private fire departments for their most expensive properties and the surrounding areas.
Why haven’t the owners, or their ins companies if it works that way, sent in special teams to get production back up and help the people downriver, given their runoff has changed the sturdy mud into loose sand, and helped to displace them?
The entire vid is super informative and recommended, but the quartz silica mention is important and starts at the 12 min mark.
No offense to any Floridians but I hope that track holds and that this one stays the hell out of NC. We have had more than enough and we are not used to this like they are. Not to mention the fact that we have a crappy governor.
