It took less than a half hour for President Trump to be declared the winner of the South Carolina primary. It was an easy roll to victory with the former president easily defeating former Gov. Nikki Haley in her own home state. The race was called by major networks shortly after the polls closed at 7 pm.
There are 50 delegates at stake. How they are apportioned is a bit tricky. Trump has a lead of 25 to 30 points in most polls, positioning him to capture the 29 at-large delegates that go to the statewide winner. The remaining 21 delegates are divided among the state’s seven congressional districts. The winner in each district gets three delegates – and Trump has a good chance of winning all seven congressional districts.
The next primary is Tuesday, in Michigan.

FL has moved from D+ 0.7% to R+ 5.9% in voter registration.
D lead of 97k at end of 2020; now R lead of 780k.
Trump will probably win FL by double digits and carry Miami-Dade.
One of the few states where democrats will not be able to commit enough fraud to win.
DeSantis got rid of the Democrat elections officials in Broward and Palm Beach Counties. They were both pretty bad. Broward was a den of election fraud for decades.
I remember multiple reports of sacks of unopened mail ballots found in garbage dumpsters and storage warehouses months after elections. Nothing was done by Florida State Officials to address the problem including Jeb Bush who turned a blind eye to the problem on many occasions!
But isn’t voter registration meaningful only for primary participation? Not sure it says anything about intent in a D v R contest.
The Freeman school of “ballot tabulators” could care less whose name is in the voter registration book.
Unless DeSantis decides to follow into Gov. Kemp’s footsteps. You never know…

If nothing else, it is at least encouraging that since Trump came on the scene, much of the GOP base is increasingly Magafied in a PaleoConservative direction and no longer NeoConned. Hence, Nikki Haley has no sway. They need to start with a premise that every GOP rep is a Rino unless/until they demonstrably prove otherwise, and even then keep a watchful eye on them lest they be turned via bribery or blackmail.

Probably the greatest thing Trump has done is that he shattered the NeoCon spell that had held sway over much of the GOP base.

I’m not suppressing or trying to suppress any effort to get people out to vote; I’m only saying curb your enthusiasm, guys, because even if Trump miraculously wins in November, the D.C. establishment will come up with a contingency plan aka the next “soft coup.”
The biggest issue here is that any attempt by President Trump to control his own (nominal) employees in the executive branch would require talents that he has never demonstrated. In fact, if confronting today’s administrative state, it is not clear how even a Lincoln or a Churchill would have exercised effective statesmanship.
We are in a post-constitutional, even a post-political, environment. That’s why no elections can solve our problems.
