Don’t beat up yourself too much on that end. I voted for Bush, but it’s not because I liked him. I only voted for him because of the troops. By the time he was running, Congress had already committed troops to the war (a war I was against only because Congress has a habit of sending out troops and then hanging them out to dry after they’re already committed). Bush was better for the troops coming out of that alive than the Democrats were. I’m certain that, even if you didn’t like Cheney, you would have come to the same conclusion as I did.

I hated the Bushes and the Cheney’s in the 90s. Hated seeing that wife on Crossfire. Hated them all.
I knew in ’92 that George H.W. was totally out of touch. If you will recall, H.W. had presided over a recession in ’90-’91. The economy was still pretty rocky during the ’92 campaign season. H.W. was on the campaign trail in NH.
I distinctly recall H.W. telling us that we all just needed to go out and spend more to give a lift to the economy. He demonstrated just what was needed. With the media dutifully in tow, he went into a local store – and purchased ONE pair of socks! It was the lowest priced item he could find. Hardly the sort of thing that was really going to increase the money supply through a manufacturing and distribution network around a big ticket item. Of course, he didn’t even know how to complete the transaction and needed one of his traveling lackeys to help him make the purchase.
I knew right then and there that here was an elitist snob who hadn’t the least interest in understanding what the everyday Joe was dealing with. He would have been better off just holing up in the family compound in Kennebunkport.
I knew he was a bad pick when HE was the one advising GW Bush on who to pick for VP and (surprise, surprise) chose himself as the best choice.

Why is Liz Cheney so deranged?
Is it because:
1) Her family fortune will be in jeopardy when all the past corruption in revealed.
2) Her father will be exposed and jailed for his corruption.
3) She herself will be exposed and jailed for her corruption.
4) All of the the above.
Her father is a war criminal by every definition.
Her meal ticket was selling access to US policy to the war mongers. Wyoming just took that away. Trump was a long term threat to her business plans. She never counted on being run over by the MAGA train. Now she’s just showing us who she truly is.. a spiteful, hate filled sow.
While it is said to never judge a book by its cover, there are just some people whose contents are exactly as their cover advertises. Cheney is a foul, hateful, traitorous, unscrupulous dissembler. One cannot keep that type of poison bottled up forever. At some point it all spills out, as it has done with her.
Her problem was/is that she has no self awareness, only hubris. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, instead of at least toning it down in the best interests of the political career she clearly worked for and now has thrown away, Cheney let her vile personality get the better of her.
She is thoroughly unlikeable…so much so, I’d be surprised if when she’s behind closed doors, looking in a mirror, she even likes herself.

When she was at the dispatch box at Prime Minister’s Question Time, she came prepared and took on all comers.
One by one, the Labour opposition shoved their various members into the arena for political battle. And one by one, they slunk back into their seats, having been bested by a woman who met them head on, never looked at her papers, and never broke her steely stare at the poor unfortunate MPs who were offered up as a sacrifice. She never lost a battle.
When I listen to Kari, I feel I am revisiting Thatcher’s heyday. It has been decades since we conservatives have had a candidate to cheer on. She is fearless and on sound ground as she eviscerates or educates any who think they will have the upper hand in any encounter, scheduled or off the cuff.

She is smart, and very easy on the eyes. There are a few women stepping up in both USA, and here in Canada, and they do a great job, men take notice!
She is so well groomed and carries herself well, with confidence, which seems to enter the room before she does. And while she has a forceful personality, she exudes feminity. A pretty difficult thing to carry off these days. Her intelligence makes her that much more attractive as well.
I must tell you that even though there will be those who will not agree, it was said of Mrs Thatcher that she had a mesmerizing effect on men with whom she worked, be they in her cabinet or foreign leaders. It was her power and command of situations she found herself in that seemed to be the draw. I always found that fascinating.

I met Thatcher once and had the opportunity to hear her speak in person. She was physically a small woman but when she talked she became a giant presence in the room. I guess the strategy is to woo independents, but it won’t work. Cheney isn’t popular with anyone other than the uniparty crowd in DC. Absent some major unforeseen event, Lake is going to win handily. I cannot wait for next January. When she declares an invasion and sends troops to actually prevent border crossings, the you know what is going to hit the fan. Unfortunately, we only have two solid justices on the Supreme Court who will uphold a state’s clear authority under the Constitution to take this step. Gorsuch is a question mark. And Lockdown Amy was a truly terrible appointment. Throughout her career, she has always voted for open borders, including while on the Supreme Court. I know Trump had to rely on the list of uniparty RINOs put out by the Federalist Society and Judicial Crisis Network, but I don’t think it would have been possible to find a judge more in favor of open borders than Lockdown Amy.

Campaigning is very different from governing; so far love her ideas, its translating them into action in the face of insulated bureaucrats and political opposition holding office and how she can navigate those will let us know if she can carry that on with the larger, federal nut that needs to be cracked.

Liz is not popular in these parts. In my voting precinct there was 43 people who voted in the primary last month for the R side of the ballot for the US House representative. Liz got 6 of those votes.
The precinct is rather large and sparsely populated. I sorta wish I knew who cast those 6 votes, that would be an aid to my area study for close future times.

Imagine the Governor or President of a State or Country running on a platform of reducing harm to its citizens.
Trump tried and he and others supporting him paid a price.
I look at Lake and believe her much like a female Trump.
Hard to see how the people of Arizona or in greater US would be harmed by Lake as an executive.
Is there a better conservative endorsement than an attack by the traitorous and despicable cheney?
