Judge Juan Merchan has openly targeted President Trump on behalf of the clients for the judge’s daughter Loren Merchan. Ms Merchan is president of Authentic Campaigns, a Chicago-based progressive political consulting firm who represents the interests of Democrat politicians.
NEW YORK – Donald Trump was held in contempt by Justice Juan Merchan Tuesday morning for social media posts and other statements the former president made that violated a gag order imposed in his Manhattan criminal case.
The judge ordered Trump to pay a $9,000 fine — $1,000 for each violation. And he warned Trump that additional violations could land him in jail.
“Defendant is hereby warned that the Court will not tolerate willful violations of its lawful orders and that if necessary and appropriate under the circumstances, it will impose an incarceratory punishment,” the judge wrote in an eight-page decision. (more)

I hope that President Trump seeks an expedited appeal that the appellate court issue a stay of the lower court proceedings while the appeal regarding the judge’s potential conflict of interest is pending. He should add the gag order as further evidence of the judge’s conflicts. It will be denied.
If, unfortunately, the appellate court decides against granting a stay, it is imperative that President Trump immediately seeks federal relief through a writ of habeas corpus. This is to argue that the trial is being held in violation of his federal constitutional rights to due process and a fair trial, a matter of utmost importance.
That is my $0.02, and it is worth even less.
All of the cases, other than the ones being handled by Smith, are just fluff, intenfed to provide cover for the two key Smith cases.
Even a legal beagle like yours truly has trouble keeping the various cases seperate in my mind.
And, of coarse they enabled them to get to the “100 INDICTMENTS!” target they wanted for the headline narrative (he MUST be guilty of SOMETHING!).
