…and He bowed His head and dismissed His spirit.
There is a knot that builds in our throat.
Painful, yet not an ordinary discomfort.
It surfaces in one human sense…. Anguish.
Then tears.
Emotions that flow when we dare to slow down and feel.
Deeply feel.
The death of Jesus Christ, as a choice.
He hung on a cross and died for us.
So that we would know.
He had all control, and he made His choice for us.
For you.
For me.
For us.
For everyone who ever was, and ever will be.
It is finished.

Beautifully written.
Thank you.
Bless you
Please…for 2022, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Eye for an eye
That’s Old Testament, Patrick, the Old Covenant. Jesus changed all that, gave us the New Covenant. Jesus Loved Us, and sought no retribution anymore.
Please think about it.
Be Blessed.
Then why did he give assurance that he would not change one iota of the law?
I had a boss, many years ago, who told me that his moto was:
“Do unto others before they do it to you.”
I just laughed and shook my head.
We live in The Age of Grace.
All I can is WE are not worthy of you Lord and Thank You for saving mankind.
God Bless you CTH brothers and sisters.
In Jesus name we Pray!
It is His vicarious sacrifice on the cross that makes any (much lesser) sacrifice we may endure in this world all worthy. Fighting every form of evil, within and without, whether temptations or countering the destruction executed by the NWO followers, we will continue to fight to the end. May He give us the resolve he demonstrated in life and in death so that we can imitate Him even if unto death in what battles His providence has ordained for us.
Vicarious sacrifice = substitutionary punishment. He took what we sinners were destined to receive … and since we now have his gift of the holy spirit, we thank Jesus daily with the fruits of our faithful actions and words.
The “it” in “It is finished” was the establishment of redemption, cleansing, justification, sanctification, life, intercession, and access to the Father on OUR behalf. Nobody that had ever existed or will exist was qualified to accomplish that task. The devil never saw it coming.
Just as an ant has no concept of atomic physics, we have no concept of everlasting life. But we all soon will.
Everyone finds out in the end.
Revelation Chapter 20 verses 12-15. Is your name written in the Book of Life?
Bless the Lord oh my soul, oh my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before, oh my soul
I’ll worship Your Holy name
The sun comes up, it’s a new day dawning
It’s time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes
You’re rich in love and You’re slow to anger
Your name is great and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find
And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore
Matt Redman
At the Last Supper, Jesus knew what was about to happen to him. But instead of asking for comfort for himself, he comforted his students. (John 16:33 – “In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”)
And when he was near his earthly end on the cross, he still took care of his mother. (John 19:26, 27 – “Woman, behold thy son!”, “Behold thy mother!”)
What great love he showed!
Absolutely. And such presence of mind. Christ looked through the challenges he faced to the ultimate solution established by God.
Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
KJV
So good to see you posting JFP!
“Christ looked through the challenges he faced to the ultimate solution established by God.” – Yes, our Lord saw what the eye doesn’t see; he saw God’s power.
Thank you, Reflection. It’s good to be back!
Thank you, Sundance and Managerie, for showing us your Faith.
Thank you for reminding people what Holy Week is all about. I sat in church the last two nights wondering – where is everybody? We maybe had 20 people in attendance each night, with the youngest person being 50. How sad… where were the young people who took the vow at confirmation to “be faithful even to the point of death”? Where were those 20 somethings who just had to be married in the church? Where were the parents and their children? The restaurants were busy, sports events were played, life as usual happened.
If we look back in history, we see how important faith was to people. During the years 49-250 AD, many Christians lost their lives to persecution. Beginning in 1620, people fled to America for religious freedom. Where is that devotion today? We have the opportunity to worship anytime and anywhere, but we have given God the back seat of our lives and hearts.
We have replaced the Holy Trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit with the trinity of self – me, myself, and I.
I am truly blessed to have experienced the service of reflection last night. I heard about those crucial words spoken from the cross. A word of forgiveness, of promise, of love, of extreme anguish, of fulfillment, of completion, and of confidence. I felt so refreshed to know I was loved so much that Jesus died for me. So, once again thank you for sharing these words of Scripture. It is needed and appreciated.
And thank you, Bonnie, for sharing your heart. God bless you and Sundance and all the Treepers on here who give me such inspiration and peace.
Jesus went to preach to all who’d lived and died before Him, while under the Law. ‘Hell’ is the ‘Great Gulf’ of Luke 16.
I worked an overnight shift and around 5:30am my boss came back to work after an 18 hour day yesterday. We talked about the Savior Jesus Christ.
It was unexpected, but he told me about others who work in our building who are Coming Unto Christ.
I wasn’t aware of it any of it. So, I would like others to know this Easter, there may be co-workers and members of your family and acquaintances….who just might be transitioning to the Truth.
Let’s remember to talk openly and to be aware of others around us who might be feeling the Spirit of God and to help them along the way.
In my experience, those whom I have helped, have also been the most help to me.
On the other hand, good cannot be defined without evil. Jesus forgave those who betrayed and crucified him. There is a message of hope in that. “God forgive them ; for they know not what they do. .”
Thank you. God Bless 🙏🏻🙏🏻
