A few days ago IDF soldiers were caught getting their rocks off vandalizing a Crucifix and beating Jesus’ head. Imagine what would happen if U.S. soldiers went into a Synagogue and started vandalizing.

I am looking forward to a Magadonian* press conference someday where our President Trump will be extolling the beauty of Beirut as it is restored to it’s historical recognition as “the Paris of the Middle East”.
This restoration to be done by the people of Lebanon, who have been making attempts to bring it back for many years.
In the course of meeting various people who are from there, I first recall being told that Beirut was indeed “the Paris of the Middle East”.
In more recent years, I have met Lebanese people who have lived here in America and made their life here, successful and positive – and they yearn to see the land of their “greats” restored to former glory.
Imagine, if you will, if you grew up in a serene and cultured home, surrounded by beauty and orderliness established over generations – then, at some point, a horrible blight came upon this place and brought it to rubble and ruination through no fault of the lovely people who had built up the place that you knew from childhood.
At various points along the way in the last 50 years or so in the course of conversation, especially with the increased interest in ancestry, family odysseys . . . you say, “Beirut” when you are asked about your old stomping grounds and if the person asking doesn’t know what Beirut once was, perhaps there is disdain or pity in their reply to that and they just apparently have no idea.
