At 12:50 of the full interview below the lawyer for the group also discusses the status of the GoFundMe account, which is under review.

I learned the money lesson about 20 or 25 years ago. I made a purchase at Costco paying with an ATM card. The company they had managing the transaction double took the money out of our checking account. It not only happened to me but every person making an ATM transaction in the store for 2 days.
It took 30 days to get my money back after I filed a formal request. The money was finally returned to my checking account on the 30th day. It was quite clear that company was “floating” the money.
Since then I pay with a credit card. If there is a discrepancy the company and the bank can work it out.

It’s heartening to know this continues to grow and that people involved are continuing to determine how best to protect themselves legally, financially, etc. Very very impressive!
