Never use GoF**kMe. It’s a commie organization. I’m saddened that they did not know this in advance.
I was thinking about that today. Canadians may not have heard widely how GFM has become another tool for the left down here, or may not have thought they would turn against them.
I am curious to know if GFM has any legal liability in doing this repeatedly. If GFM doesn’t want to allow their site to raise funds for certain issues, why not reject them right up front? Why let the fraudulent fundraising go on for days/weeks before yanking the rug out from under those who would benefit?
I suspect Canadians are now very well aware of what snakes GFM can be.
Sounds like the lawyers are doing what is right for the Truckers. Setting up a Corporation and a trust is probably the best legal way to get that money out of Go Fund Me hands.

Do they get to keep the tips? If so, that’s why they don’t reject up front. + the interest they are earning but not much these days. However, sure it’s is sizeable for over $10 million.

As I understand it, the GiveSendGo is a Christian organization and is legit.
Any company that uses their faith to market their product, I stay far away from. Over the years it has been these “Christians” that delivered crappy service and/or products and/or screwed me.

I try to make a habit of looking at the corporate leadership and board of directors on the websites of organization that seem to suddenly become an arm of lefty governments.
GFM’s top people are a standard collection of international players, many raised and educated far from North American values. Their resumes are cliches of the ‘club’ as far as universities and woke corporate experience.
It is rare to find a large corporation that is run by people who grew up and were studied in states and provinces where people like these brave truckers live.
Explains how we arrived at this neo-fascism. It did not happen overnight.
I lost my trust of big organizations handling of money years ago. We give to the causes we can see. Examples: our church, our grandchildren (Christian school tuition), direct causes or individual such as Sundance – – which is probably past due.
The big organization that we have supported for 40 or 50 years is Salvation Army. Then look what happened to them and CRT training of their missionaries. After an early check in December we stopped donating anything to them. No bell ringers, no more checks, nothing. And believe me the SA sent plenty of donation requests in December.
I can honestly say my heart twists when I say no some times, but we have a limited amount of money and want to insure it is used to its intended purpose.
Speaking of … better get that check in the mail for Sundance.

I stopped donating to ANY cause after they cheated President Trump out of the presidency in 2020. Even the Salvation Army. Even Judicial Watch. And no politicians either. Not Donald Trump either. I didn’t trust the organization he was using. I have become quite paranoid. I trust nobody except Sundance, to whom I do donate, and also even though I love the commenters here, there is no way to know who’s side they are really on either because there are so many new names.
I did try to donate to the truckers convoy 5 different times but was unsuccessful for what reason I have no idea. Maybe the credit card I was using refused the charge? Maybe the credit card is not a lefty organization? Or maybe they had a glitch? I know it had nothing to do with my credit or the credit left on my card. I’m thrifty and keep up with all my financial activities pretty strictly.
I think the Freedom Truckers Convoy lawyer who spoke at this presser indicated that he was glad that GFM was scrutinizing the account.
IMHO, that translates to – yeah, we aren’t happy, but once GFM audits the account and it is clean, there is nothing derogatory about the fund that can be stated and be truthful. So the truckers’ agents are keeping the fund squeaky clean as they should. $10M is a lot of money so GFM may also be protecting themselves from accusations.
But the timing is obviously suspect and it probably can easily be determined that GFM did not subject other large funds for less righteous causes to the same level of scrutiny.
Well, AGFM sure didn’t do urgent due diligence with Christine Blasey Ford and George Floyd.
No, of course not. GFM is a completely fraudulent organization that only obstructs conservatives and anti-Globalist people and groups. GFM is “owned” by the dark side. Avoid using them for anything. And tell any organizations to which you may want to donate, that. for principles of honor and integrity you cannot donate using that site. If the org wants money it should use Give Send Go, because GSG does not discriminate against people because of their ideology.

There are different areas: Quebec, Alberta, British Columbia, etc. Are those like states in the US & do they have the equivalent of a governor. Is Trudeau like our president ( in more ways than one!). Also what are the equivalent of Democrats and Republicans. I am curious since I want to better understand what’s going on.

There are some weird things they have going on, but regarding the provinces, I believe they act like their own ‘little’ countries a bit in that they don’t seem to operate to a ‘common good for Canada’ perspective. For example, I think B.C. won’t allow Alberta to make a pipeline to the West Coast through BC to export the tar sands/sag D oils. Similarly, I think Saskatchewan or maybe the next province over isn’t keen on letting an Alberta pipeline through.
Can answer some of those. Yes, provinces in CA are very similar to our states. Their Governors are called Premiers instead. They have two main political parties (Tories and Liberals I think though not sure). They also have more established third parties, especially in Quebec.

Yes, they are called provinces, and each has a Premier. They’ve all been quite wimpy, buckling to their medical officers of health. We have generally had 2 main political parties – Liberal (like Democrats – left & getting leftover 😆 – their colour is red, opposite of US) The other main political party is the Conservatives (blue) – they are trending left as well 😠. Though they just had a leadership review and dumped their inadequate leader. We shall see….Our province of Quebec has a party called the Bloc Quebecois, which is out basically for Quebec & Quebec alone (Trudeau likes them, they tend to vote with him), and then we have the NDP (New Democrat Party), which has enough seats from British Columbia and northern Ontario to mess things up too. Our federal elections are “first past the post”, and often elections are decided before final totals come in from the west. We have a new party this past election, the PPC (People’s Party of Canada), which is the populist party, and the anti- mandate party. They, I think, appeal to more & more people, but ended up splitting the vote in some Ontario (most populous province by far) ridings, so seats went to Liberals. Even so, Trudeau lost seats last election, and is governing with the lowest vote percentage (28% of voters voted for him) for a very long time, if ever. He, however, acts like he has a huge majority (the Bloc and NDP usually vote with the Liberals these days) and is really pushing his governing priorities (kill oil & gas, increase internet censorship, etc). He is an extraordinarily corrupt prime minister, with corrupt friends (who he rewards) Canada has been frustrating for politically conservative types for several years. The truckers have brought us a ray of hope, God bless them! (Sorry for length…)

Firstly, as stated in the press conference, the truckers HAVE complied with all of the requirements.
Frankly, given the amount of $10 million and rising, such requirements are NOT out of line.
Thirdly, look at it the OTHER way; if GFM accepts the paperwork, and unfreezes the funds,..
that means they have calculated that acceeding to, and helping the gov. against the Truckers, puts them on the wrong side.
THINK what a powerful statement that is! IF they do that, they are recognising the obvious; the gov can not destroy GFM, but WE can!
lets see if GFM realises this, and decides the safer route for them, is to “play it straight”,..
I don’t know the normal operations of GoFundMe, but in having the Freedom Convoy 2022 go through the process of incorporating, and the hiring of accountants and lawyers etc., they are forcing a paper trail.
This enables not only for the government to tax these donations, but to identify anyone who files a claim for the funds raised. Could have ramifications for these truckers down the road as well.
The government wanted its hands on these funds, now they have access.

The organizers have really shown wisdom. I watched the first press conference and it was clear they never expected the massive numbers of truckers and financial support that flowed in. It was wise to get attorneys and accountants involved and get incorporated. It is amazing how this convoy has sparked hope throughout the world. I am so very happy that they seem to be handling the bumps in the road so well. God bless them.

We know some truckers are heading to DC but today I read some are going to surround the Superbowl in LA. Usually, a city will cordon off a few blocks from the stadium but truck horns can really travel, especially if they mount a few that can be rotated.
I live in Georgia and want revenge for the NFL using the Superbowl as a political weapon along with the NBA trying to do so for their All-Star game.
For those who do not remember, our governor vetoes a bill saying marriage is between one man and one woman to keep the Superbowl.
Too spontaneous to be successful and to fragmented with too many locations. No planning, no prepping. Just “We can do this, too.” And off they go.
The US truckers should only convoy to the border to support Canada. When business finished there, turn the trucks around and head straight to the Southern border and blockade there.

There was not 1 bridge, 1 town, or city, out of the hundreds they passed through, that didn’t have thousands out there, in serious cold weather, cheering, holding up flags, offering assistance, and fuel, food, goods…you name it.

I watched him for 2 days as he was travelling to Ottawa. He was awesome. Hell, he even offered his shower in his hotel room to other truckers to use.
Pretty awesome human being he is.
That part when they went through North Bay, Ontario was particularly touching. Town of 50,000, must have been almost the whole place lining the 10 foot snow banks….they had all the Tow Trucks and Rotators lit up, with flags, about 30 of them sitting on the side of the road. ……cheering, crying, yelling….
It was family’s, young kids, old as well, all races, colors..it was awesome! All bundled up, -30 Celsius. They were running up to his truck and high fiving, screaming they love him and the truckers, handing them food, coffee…..
It was quite the scene there and all along the route.
I have to say, no matter what the lying media says, all his video and some of the others, prove them to be nothing more than Gov aided mouthpiece liars. The normals have stood up. The leftists are cowering.
