The last military plane out of Afghanistan departed at 3:29 p.m. on the East Coast — that’s 11:59 p.m. in Kabul. We are officially out of Afghanistan. According to General McKenzie, “The vast majority of U.S. citizens who wanted to leave, were evacuated.” However, he later continued, “There’s a lot of heartbreak. We did not get everybody out that we wanted to get out.”

I cannot even imagine how this, among so many things, will/has affected our soldiers. Those dogs protected them and to see this happen. The evil that swirls around us hits everything in countless ways. I pray for our soldiers and wonder how their psyches will handle how all of this has unfolded, including what the DOD did with these dogs.

Every day has sucked since the Taliban took Kabul. (with our assistance, apparently) The worst day was the suicide bombing and loss of our 13 heroes. But today is right up there too, with every bit of news of what these evildoers have done. Turning out the Americans who were going to be evacuated by private means and leaving them in the hands of the barbarians, instructing countries not to allow the landing of private aircraft carrying rescued Americans, leaving early with none of these or other Americans on board, and finally, the abandonment of those loyal and faithful canines, have sent me over the edge. I am heartbroken and devastated at what is/has been happening to my beloved United States of America. How do we come back from all that has transpired in the last year since the election? It’s all too much. At 66 I don’t worry about myself. But my children and grandchildren, what of their future? Dear Lord, pour out your mercy on us all, I pray.
15 years later than it should have been. This staying in these god-forsaken places longer than needed because of this belief in nation building is a terrible strategy. If the people is a particular country want to change a culture they have to do it themselves.
