He should have got a clue..He should order all non essential citizen out of the county in 24 to 48 hours back then then as they got close to Kabul he should have pulled all non essential embassy people..
But instead they waited till the Taliban got the gates of the city pretty much before they did anything..
then it was too late.. If they were giving up in all the other towns and cities why did he think it would be different in Kabul.

Their abject cowardice and search for personal gain have covered America with disgrace. I listened on YouTube to ” MY COUNTRY TIS OF THEE,” sung by the ROBERT SHAW CHORALE. It is an old recording so the sound isn’t perfect. But it is so moving, the best rendition I’ve ever heard, and it is well worth finding it. Given what has been done to us, to a frantic people whom we abandoned to a barbaric future, to our allies who thought we were a reliable partner, listening to this heart wrenching performance made me weep buckets of tears…and believe me they were very bitter. May we never forget these traitors.

The first was written I thiiiiink in 2006, and was as prescient a tome as I’ve ever read. I re-read it every two years or so to see how his foresight has panned out. He is a wonderful smart observer of what’s going on. I can promise I think if you read it, you will have a hard time putting it down.
